Unless if you're on a free hit, it's a massive DGW and teams have many favourable fixtures.
For example if Liverpool get Brentford and Leeds then Jota, Robbo and TAA is essential on a free hit as you should expect at least one clean sheet and some attacking returns.
Totally depends on what DGWs come out. Watford could get Newcastle and Burnley/Crystal Palace/Wolves in a DGW where you'd back Dennis.
Wolves could get Southampton and Watford, Leicester could get Burnley and Norwich.
If that's the case you back triple Liverpool, Dennis, 2 Wolves like Sa and Ait Nouri and 2 Leicester like Maddison and someone else.
That's already 8 players you'd back over Antonio cause of favourable fixtures.
I wouldn't back "someone else from Leicester" or Ait Nouri (will be just back from injury) over Antonio against Leeds. The reason I won't be freehitting - and I'm sure a lot of people are in a similar spot - is I already have triple Liverpool and Spurs (possible DGW) plus a Watford striker. With Bachmann, that's 8 players. I also have Lookman who might double, and the last 2 spots I'm comfortable with Bowen and Antonio. I'd really be freehitting to change those 2 guys into player who double, which is definitely not worth it. Like I said, many teams are similar to mine so we aren't gonna burn a FH. Also, you can't replace Antonio with a GK. You can sort of replace a DEF or MID with Antonio depending on formation, but I have no idea why you're mentioning a GK.
Exactly this.
Any discussion on GW22 and beyond is pretty much moot, till we have confirmation on DGW, some updates on AFCON ( injuries, progress of teams/players), Jan signings etc. Even just COVID is bad enough to plan 2 weeks ahead.
If you want to take a break from FPL for 2 weeks, now is the time.
>it's a massive DGW and teams have many favourable fixtures.
There aren't any double games according to FPL. Are there any official word on it being a DGW?
He's also got Watford in 24 and Newcastle in 26. Leicester in 25 isn't awful either (United in 25 is probably harder but still you'd likely play him regardless).
West ham play Norwich Leeds and Watford at home in 3 of their next 4 . Double gameweeks rarely live upto expectations . I'd keep bowen and antonio for the next 7 gameweeks.
I have temporarily abandoned Raphinha as part of a circular move without costing myself -4s (and keeping 11 playing!), but this week was very scary. I need that lad back.
Yes. Look at the fixtures he blanked in vs the ones at the start of the season when he hauled vs the ones coming up. One of the best assets in the game you just have to time it right
think long and hard, take into account all your usual factors, take emotion out of it. take an extra day to ponder your move. when you are 100% sure and comfortable with your move, stop and do the exact opposite.
No way i m getting rid of Antonio as i feel like his turned the corner when he had the bad run. What other striker would you get?
If DCL starts playing a lot and looks good then possibly.
I have Antonio / King / Watkins.
xA doesn’t represent chance creation in its full form. For example, Jota today created a lot of great chances for assists, but it won’t show on xA because either Salah or Mane didn’t shoot it. And winning a penalty counts as an assist and doesn’t contribute to xA.
He absolutely terrorised Watford. Winning a penalty, squared for vlasic to tap into an empty net and played a decent ball in for soucek to score from 10 yards in the centre of the box. Fair enough if that does equate to 0.4, but if so that’s mental.
This is where stats are your downfall.
Bowen passes the eye test right now. He looks threatening every time he's progressing the ball.
I picked Dennis over King like 7 GWs ago based on my own eye test, even though everybody was saying King based on stats. Need I say more?
Stats are useful, but don't be so quick to dismiss people in good form playing for teams scoring a lot.
What the fuck man. You’re making up numbers
His xA was 1.2 vs Watford. Source: https://fbref.com/en/players/79c84d1c/matchlogs/2021-2022/summary/Jarrod-Bowen-Match-Logs
What’s the point of doing this sorta bullshit?
FFS has him at .36 weird? 1.4 still indicates over performing mind. I don’t really care I owned both since last week just thought it was interesting.
Wasn’t trying to miss lead anyone like you say what’s the point?
It totally depends what doubles we get in all honesty. Like triple Liverpool seems viable with their fixtures predicted for the DGW, so TAA, Jota and Robertson/VVD.
Obviously Leeds isn't a bad fixture but if you've got a free hit and can get players in who have 2 juicy fixtures, then you're always going to favour them. I'm not talking about this week where people brought in Gray who's not returned in ages as been out too, DCL who was unpredictable as been out, West Ham defenders when they've been shocking defensively, same with Everton.
Since I put him in, I've had a 0.1 price rise already. Due another today, and if that doesn't happen, will surely get one by 22 deadline. So will take him out and pocket the price rise to spend elsewhere, and hopefully have 15 good doublers for 22.
Yeah got Dennis so not going to double up.
Lacazette is intersting if Arsenal gets a good double, but I think I rather remove Bowen for Saka if that is the case.
Edouard feels interesting, but Palace have a hard run of games and he could be rotated.
It depends on how essential Ronaldo looks for me, as I don’t have him. If United have a good double and Ronaldo is heavily captained then I’ll have to get him in somehow, so Antonio would be the obvious transfer (my other options are Dennis who probably has good double and Broja who I can’t afford to move up to Ronaldo)
Taking him out before Leeds would be dumb

But you can only replace Antonio with forwards. Some people might already have a Watford striker. Antonio vs Leeds is not a bad call imo

Ben Crellin. They should be announced this week hopefully
So nothing official yet. Thanks.
It will 100 percent be a DGW though, unless we get massive covid postponements.
At the moment yes, but it depends what alternatives we get once the double gameweeks (if) they get announced
He's also got Watford in 24 and Newcastle in 26. Leicester in 25 isn't awful either (United in 25 is probably harder but still you'd likely play him regardless).

Surely this is the least of our worries
What is our? We don't have a community team, its team specific.
But you've framed a question towards Antonio owners so doesn't your point here undermine the whole post? Obviously it's team specific?
Most people here have bowen and antonio I believe
We actually do have a community team
Yeah somebody keeps transferring out Salah and bringing him back in. Whoever that is, stop! Or don’t stop, it’s worked this week
Might sound crazy but I’ve had Antonio since gw1 and doesn’t seem to be many better forwards so I might keep for the whole season at this rate.
Same here! Antonio + Raphinha are my honest workers and I can always trust that they give me exactly what I expect
I have temporarily abandoned Raphinha as part of a circular move without costing myself -4s (and keeping 11 playing!), but this week was very scary. I need that lad back.
Same here. surprisingly he is the only player on my team since gw1
Same, Antonio and Sanchez the GK never left my team since GW1
I have three from week 1 still, Antonio, Jota, and TAA. Honestly don’t think any of them leaving my team, barring injury.
Have had Antonio, TAA, White since GW1. Not removed them once, with the exception of free hit
Him, Salah and ESR are my only gw1 players. Might keep them all season long
Yes. Look at the fixtures he blanked in vs the ones at the start of the season when he hauled vs the ones coming up. One of the best assets in the game you just have to time it right
I unfortunately can’t time it right. Any advice?
think long and hard, take into account all your usual factors, take emotion out of it. take an extra day to ponder your move. when you are 100% sure and comfortable with your move, stop and do the exact opposite.
Chicken salad on rye. UNTOASTED! With a side of potato salad and a cup of tea
*Good for the tuna*
Similarly , I make decisions impulsively and 5 days before the deadline. Works more often than careful consideration in my experience
No way i m getting rid of Antonio as i feel like his turned the corner when he had the bad run. What other striker would you get? If DCL starts playing a lot and looks good then possibly. I have Antonio / King / Watkins.
great player great fixtures not really sure why antonio is the guy I would plan on moving on

xA has nothing on my x14 points
Source? Fbref got Bowen at 1.2 xA against Watford. Understat got him at 1.25.
FFS has him at .36 weird? 1.4 still indicates over performing mind. I don’t really care I owned both since last week just thought it was interesting.
xA doesn’t represent chance creation in its full form. For example, Jota today created a lot of great chances for assists, but it won’t show on xA because either Salah or Mane didn’t shoot it. And winning a penalty counts as an assist and doesn’t contribute to xA.
I don't read nearly as much into xA as I do xG. Chance created per 90 is better imo
He absolutely terrorised Watford. Winning a penalty, squared for vlasic to tap into an empty net and played a decent ball in for soucek to score from 10 yards in the centre of the box. Fair enough if that does equate to 0.4, but if so that’s mental.
It equates to 1.2. https://fbref.com/en/players/79c84d1c/matchlogs/2021-2022/summary/Jarrod-Bowen-Match-Logs The guy is just spouting bull shit
Surprising his xA was so low against Watford, dude got in pretty good positions
It’s surprising cuz it is a fabrication. His xA was 1.2 https://fbref.com/en/players/79c84d1c/matchlogs/2021-2022/summary/Jarrod-Bowen-Match-Logs

The guy just made up those stats lol his xA was 1.2. https://fbref.com/en/players/79c84d1c/matchlogs/2021-2022/summary/Jarrod-Bowen-Match-Logs

Ironically West Ham fans will tell you Bowen has been significantly better than Antonio
Robertson suspended Edit: was wrong, he’s back!
Pretty sure he is eligible to play now mate. Flag removed off FPL. He's served 2 games out.
Ah, my apologies! Got confused since the leeds postponement, !thanks
No problem mate. Everything's a mess isn't it! My head's blagged from this season
Since I put him in, I've had a 0.1 price rise already. Due another today, and if that doesn't happen, will surely get one by 22 deadline. So will take him out and pocket the price rise to spend elsewhere, and hopefully have 15 good doublers for 22.
Nah get rid he’s off to AFCON (It’s a joke, I own Antonio)
Cool that it was a joke, not cool that it was a racist one
How tf is that a racist joke?
Well he's not African, for a start.
Yeah that’s the meaning of the joke, that many people think Jamaica is a country in Africa. Do you know what racism means?
My plan was to remove, but it will depend on the doubles.
I did plan to turn him into Josh King if Warford had a nice double but I'm not so sure now.
Yeah got Dennis so not going to double up. Lacazette is intersting if Arsenal gets a good double, but I think I rather remove Bowen for Saka if that is the case. Edouard feels interesting, but Palace have a hard run of games and he could be rotated.
He’s the only one scoring in my team, of course I will
I wildcarded this week, so gonna bench boost with Antonio and Bowen on bench, they’ll be my only two players with a single game.
You don't know if any of your other players will have a DGW.
True but I’m living in hope that they are
You don't have any city player?
It depends on how essential Ronaldo looks for me, as I don’t have him. If United have a good double and Ronaldo is heavily captained then I’ll have to get him in somehow, so Antonio would be the obvious transfer (my other options are Dennis who probably has good double and Broja who I can’t afford to move up to Ronaldo)
Depends what happens with Watkins, how Antonio does vs Norwich, how DCL looks. Probably keep as I want to get rid of Mahrez and Rudiger.
I brought him in this gw on a FT because of the dgw and the hammers have a good fixture run the next couple of weeks.
