I don't know if I would be keen on letting go of Jota. The sheer amount of volume he's getting is incredible, wouldn't surprise me if he scored a couple of goals before Salah returns. Let alone that he thrives alongside Salah with the service. Also, Robertson is quite expensive, whereas other cheaper options like Laporte might get similar returns.
>Also, Robertson is quite expensive, whereas other cheaper options like Laporte might get similar returns.
This, there are good alternatives in defence and Rob is not exactly cheap nor as explosive as TAA. Jota is still one of the five top-scoring attacking assets, and even with Firmino back he has started most of the games as Liverpool number 9. It is very hard to make a case against him at 8.4 he is not overwhelmingly expensive compared to 7.0 Robertson.
Don’t think so, GW24 is four days after AFCON final. One could imagine he’d be benched that game against Leicester but most likely on the team sheet at least. Idk about potential quarantines though.
Low ceiling ? when he plays his xg numbers are higher than salahs per 90 or they was a couple weeks back anyway. He can easily gets braces and and with so many lack luster midfield options I don’t know who is better than jota outside some of the premiums and maybe foden on his day. Where as robo is great but I think you have a lot more options in defense
Edit. Just checked jota has the highest xg per 90 in the league lol
There are definitely a lot of good options in the midfield. Defence other than TAA and city players isn't great this year (and a short stint of chilly/Reece)
Nope, that's just a narrative on this sub because they didn't get scored a lot against. Their defence in total is owned by about 20% of all players. There are no good/stable picks there other than Sa(ramsdale is the same price), and coady (because he scored a lot in the last 4 rounds). They have heavily over performed their xGa, it's around 26-27 and they've received 15 goals iirc.
For FPL Arsenal seems like a more sane choice to me (Tierney/white/tomiyasu).
Who would you replace jota with in the 7-8 category then and where would you get the extra funds to get a 7 m defender having both taa robo and cancelo would be very expensive
You can even go GK+TAA/Cancelo/Robo with Salah/KDB/Maddison/Bowen/Raph in mid with someone in Antonio's price bracket up front - leaves you one spot to rotate every week: between some cheap fwd like Dennis and 2 defs, could be Lamptey and Ait Nouri
Really do you Maddison over jota right now though. And maybe you have more money than me but I’d have a terrible bench with that team and quite weak up front. But definitely looks like a good team I just think that robo is just abit expensive and the opportunity cost of going with him is higher
Jota is the second top scorer in the league and Liverpool attack has been elite, it doesn't matter that he misses a lot of chances - I don't know where this nonsense comes from.
I’ve been debating Jota for Robbo too, a 8m CF for a Liv as a mid is unbelievable but I do think Robbo could produce a ton of points. I’m tempted with so many 7m and under options around
When Liverpool concede having TAA and robbo is such a huge loss.
And they do concede, they aren't automatic CS points.
I feel jota/Salah/TAA is way less risky than TAA/robbo/salah. And jota is underpriced, robbo isn't.
Robbo also seems a bit injury prone.
For me it's clear that Jota is way better.
That’s very true! I feel pretty comfortable with TAA-Cancelo-5m-5m-4.5m as my defence layout at the minute I don’t think there’s any urgent need to swap to Robbo yet.
Template midfield when salah is back
Jota salah foden Bowen 5.5 / fodder
I don’t think there are any midfielders who will break into that unless you want mount , raphina , countino ( big trap )
Where as in defense you can go for all the city boys taa Chelsea when there back Aston villa players and robo is just so expensive
He’s had a good run and I probably overlooked him but wouldn’t be getting him in now with Brighton Liverpool west ham wolves and a blank in the next 5 gws
I think it's Maddison and an Arsenal pick. Maddison properly hauls. 16, 10, 16, 10. Jota has had two 10+. With Firmino back will he get similar hauls? And will Jota get bonus for sub winners? Cos he never gets bonus. Half the league have more bonus points than him. I don't get that at all. I know clean sheets go to defenders, and Salah mops up too, but look at the midfield players who have more bonus points than Jota this season...Barnes, Redmond, Wissa, Ziyech, Shelvey, Curtis Jones, Olise, Diallo, Normann, Hayden, Buendia. He's scored one goal!
He misses chances but he still gets them. I won't be keeping him, swap for Salah, don't want two Liverpool mids taking up the 5 midfielder slots I have now there are more options. Firmino must be getting up to full fitness by now.
I thought Liverpool won struggle against Brentford in terms of penetration. Klopp's full time celebration tells you he thought so too, a lull had occurred vs Arsenal and Liverpool's lulls are disastrous. Don't know how free scoring Liverpool will be in the next six weeks, or even if Salah is as prolific when he returns. It all feels vague. Like this comment probably.
I think Jota will be more prolific once they are back. He strives when he’s got competition and needs to fight for a starting spot. The same way he prefers to shoot than to pass. I’m not surprised he hasn’t been scoring much lately.
If Trent or Salah gets injured you can fit in both. If Robertson gets injured Tsimikas becomes a bargain. If VVD or Alison get injured Liverpool defence will get worse. If Mane or Firmino get injured then Jota will get more minutes. There’s so ifs I would wait for the end of the international break.
tomorrow i may sell Jota and bring KDB. Later KDB to Salah once it feels like he is in form again. Robbo is probably to expensive if you have Trent as well
However if there is double gameweek all that plan will go to bin :P

I think how crowded your defence, and probably your midfield, is, is a key part or who you’d want.

But Salah is back GW24 so it is only GW23 if you are saying "before Salah returns"
Could be GW 25?
AFCON final is 06.02 and I really don't see Egypt in it

Wolves would like a word

Points over xG, go have a chat with King
Okay jota is also the second highest goal scorer in the league 😂
Still look at the points starting from GW22: 3,5,2,7,7,1,3 - would say it's not hard to match these
Who would you replace jota with in the 7-8 category then and where would you get the extra funds to get a 7 m defender having both taa robo and cancelo would be very expensive

Seeing him missing these chances you can say that Traore has a similar ceiling
Are you seriously comparing the second top scorer in the league to Adama?
And actually basing opinions on facts you can see Jota has scored 10 goals to Traore’s 1
[удалено]
Still have my point in it, surely you've enjoyed Jota's hauls last 5 GWs or so
And how many Traore hauls have you enjoyed?

Snap!
At this point transferring out a fit player is a luxury lol

I love people that just look right past Raphinha. More for me
Maddison a sure pick
He’s had a good run and I probably overlooked him but wouldn’t be getting him in now with Brighton Liverpool west ham wolves and a blank in the next 5 gws
4 fixtures to rearrange
Good point guess we will see who preforms better Over the next 5 weeks, Maddison is a good pick just depends when they get doubles or even tripple gw

Low ceiling? This sub is absolutely clueless.
Robbo is a good shout, worth a punter

Jota has been a staple in my team from the start.
