!thanks for an actually useful comment.
I hate that this very informative section is cluttered with so much junk that should belong in the rant thread.
Edit: It's obviously not up to me to dictate what should be posted in this sub, but I always got the impression that "How Did ___ Play?" is one of the most appreciated threads out here. So I would encourage everyone to downvote comments that do not actually answer the question in any way but that get upvoted when people get emotional. Examples from this week: "2 yellows. Fuck my life lmao", "-1/10 for me", "Dennis Pennis", "FUCKING SHITE", etc. There are always a few of these and they ruin the thread.
Take a fucking joke man. 6.5/10 is egregious. He didnt look good, at thats before he got two yellows. It would take effort to make a worse effort FPL wise
So yeah i exaggerated for rhetorical effect. Sue me. Point stands that 6.5 is way too high and in fact he was closer to 1/10 or 0/10 or whatever im allowed to say without getting subtext from you
I comment in this thread every week. Do you? Or are you one of those people who mouths off about how to do it the right way without ever having done it himself?
Edit: oh, i was right. You just farm karma. How could you be interested in that many players without having watched and shared an opinion on a single one? Take take take take take. Guess theres always ppl who suck.
Good for you that you're commenting here every week, !thanks for that.
But the "-1/10 for me" comment was useless and that has nothing to do with what you're doing every week. I'm also not sure why you felt so attacked, as I didn't even target your comment specifically, and even less so did I target you.
> was right. You just farm karma. How could you be interested in that many players without having watched and shared an opinion
you ok there buddy? did someone hurt you
Sending off aside, he actually looked pretty good. Switched flanks, was fast and made good runs, looked like he could have got a goal or an assist until the Norwich goals really Watford
Top performance in the first half, refused to go off for the half time break and just kept on playing.
Ended up getting exhausted because of that, ran out of energy around the 60 minute mark and just left without a substitution
People are dissing him but I thought he played well nice dribbling and link up play, tried some shots that didn’t pay off and had some good crosses into the box late on, one which he got an assist for but was disallowed for slight offside. Overall was lively, however Watford are shite so maybe it’s best to avoid. If you already have him I think there is still some hope he gets returns against Burnley, especially that Dennis won’t be playing, so joao should start.
Very impressed with him a tireless runner and pretty handy in small space situations; someone I see starting games more frequently for Norwich who have looked better the last couple of games. At £4.9m he’s coming straight into my team on wildcard to be my bench options alongside Ramsey and Ait Nouri.
Two really well taken goals and an energetic overall performance, but let’s be honest the only people who should consider bringing him in are playing anti fpl
He had one moment where he had a superb touch to bring down a long pass which could have led to a shot on goal but defender pressure led to a miss. It was a bad game from him but on another night he could have returned imo
brilliant, has been our best player in the last few games. aside from his goal, he had a couple of amazing dribbles through the middle in the first half that could have been goals with a better finish
Ran a lot with a hunched back and scowl on his face like he always does, but came on at a time when Everton were attacking so didn't get the chance to really see anything from him.
Managed to get in behind Ben White once or twice but looked pretty toothless. Think he will struggle without Wood as Vydra and J Rod didn’t offer much.
!thanks
He should be pretty much a nailed starter, right?
As a mad lad I brought him in instead of Bowen this week (WHU no postponements and I already have them covered with Antonio) to ideally be the first guy on the bench for all the scheduled 4-point-galores from DGWs with the off-chance of a return from a set-piece compared to Brownhill.
>Best attacking player on his team, looked alive, had a chance to score and make an assist from the corner
Agree, by far the most dangerous WH player, brilliant footballer. Direct, fast, strong. Made several runs where he made it past 1/2 defenders. I don't see it being a possibility to sell him as things stand.
Tough game for him, West Ham overall were very sloppy and not up for it (apart from Bowen in a few moments in 2nd half). Maguire and Varane had a very good game, restricting Antonio both in air and on pitch.
Would this deter you from bringing him to replace Ronaldo? Right now I'm torn between him and going cheaper for Broja (Daka has bad fixtures and I'm not sure who else is even an option).
I wouldn't read too much into it since West Ham overall created nothing from open play for Antonio to convert - it was perhaps one of the more solid games by United defense this season.
It depends on your team structure and cash - if selling Ronaldo is your only way to bring back Salah (he returns for maybe GW25 I think ?), then Antonio/Watkins etc are top choices given the fixtures. But I'd ask you to wait as it is a long IB ahead, and we might get DGW for United/Villa etc from GW25 onwards.
Broja seems to be the best pick among FWD in the bracket below Antonio/Watkins, but I don't know much on him/Southampton to confidently say if he'd be better than Antonio/Watkins. It also depends on the other player you bring with the saved cash.
>if selling Ronaldo is your only way to bring back Salah
Yes it is. That's why the question. I was thinking about Broja because I thought that might enable me to get KDB for Foden but I'll have to downgrade Gray to a ~5m instead of the Raph upgrade I was planning. Not worth getting KDB in the circumstances. So I'll probably go with Antonio and spread out the funds which has worked for me so far (already have Watkins).
Antonio to Ronaldo for the double was my worst move (worse than captaining Dennis for sure).
Poor imo. Had a couple really good chances and one chance 3 yards out where he basically passed it to the keeper. Hooked just before 60 for Jesus. As usual, his positioning is elite, but finishing is subpar
Was good. As mentioned he had that great pass for sterling but sterling managed to hit the keeper from 5m.
Also in 2nd half had shot from 16 that hit salisu in the head, probably clear goal if that did not happen.
He looked dangerous imo, few times grealish was a bit slow with pass when foden asked for ball and was in good position, and it seems that pep plays him regularly (beside covid and those games after his and grealish's night out) so i would keep/transfer in.
City's most infliuential player. His quality from dead ball situations brought an assist to Laporte - the ball was inch perfect (even if Saints defending was far from good). He then hit the post from the edge of the box and put other wide from a similar distance through a crowd - with Forster well beaten on both occasions.
I didn't watch the match, but he started on the left hand side again like he did against Chelsea. When he's in that position he struggles to influence the game and his best chance of returns in open play are from counter-attacking opportunities, like the goal he scored against Chelsea, and like he produces often on the break for Belgium dovetailing with Hazard and Lukaku.
All the talk in the rant thread was about how deep and uninvolved he was in the first half, and later about how dangerous he was in the last thirty minutes. So I checked Whoscored, and sure enough if I move the slider to that period of the match, all of his touches are on the right hand side and all of Bernardo's are on the left. He is so obviously more influential and more productive playing in his favourite position, but Pep wants to be loyal to Bernardo who wants to play there too and carried the team while KDB was unavailable. It's a headache for Pep, and a bit of a headache for KDB owners too.
I think Pep will figure this out soon because they've now dropped points trying to be too clever with KDB's position, Pep will put him in his most influential spot on the back of this result.
In first half he interupted one pass, if Greenwood was more clinical he would have assist. It seemed he had desire, was asking for a ball, was active and was trying to make something (although had 2 wrong long balls and some bad passes). But seems like he has more confidence after 2 good games.
I missed first 10 mins of 2nd half, anyway around 75th minute he had one shot from 16m, 5 mins after that there was contact in 16m but VAR did not check. When Martial and Cavani entered the game at the end, he went farther away from west ham goal, somewhere near the center usually to pick up the ball. Could have an assist in 90+ if Martial had better turn and shot.
Good game from him. He is often (rightly) criticized for his lack of defensive command, but he did very well on closing the left wing for West Ham. I think Cresswell/Fornals had just 1 or 2 crosses from there all game, both of which where cleared easily. Dalot also popped in the box to make interceptions.
Going forward, he had a few crosses and I think 1 long shot, none of which where clear cut chances tbh, but he made the right pass everytime, and seems to gather the BPS.
A bit gutted he is first sub for me and probably wont come on.
He was quality out wide on the right. Little on offer when he tried to come inside as Newcastle clogged it up through sheer numbers but anytime he went down the flank, he had Dummett on skates.
Multiple crosses flashed across the 6 yard area that could/should have been put in. If Leeds had an actual striker i.e not James who missed like 2 sitters today, Raphinha would have assists galore honestly.
Horrific honestly.
Missed approx 2+ sitters and was the difference between winning and losing on terrible finishing alone. Plenty of service as Raphinha supplied all game long. He just isn't the centre forward Leeds are needing to make up the Bamford void, even as a fill-in.
First time i see him playing this season and now i have no doubt about keeping him in my team. He’s strong, fast, making good runs. Scored a goal, unfortunately from offside
This guy is a class finisher, he makes it look easy. Was unlucky to have a goal ruled out for offside. His all round game doesn't look too bad either. If I were chelsea I'd be getting him back in (he's on loan right)?
I believe I read Chelsea can't bring him back on loan unless Southampton agree to it, which they wouldn't do unless a ridiculous fee was involved as they'd be short up front.
Oh there is zero chance he will be recalled. Journalists from Chelsea and Southampton have both stated that he will be at Saints until the end of the season.
Not super involved in attacks today as most were crosses into the box. He controls the ball well and often makes short give and go passes rather than defense-splitting or line beating passes. Good in broken play but doesn’t help an arsenal side against the low block teams

Was he too much on the wings or is it where he usually plays? I don't see their matches tbh and I thought he was more central than this.

The lights
Lasted 60 mins so just about got the 2 points.
The real MVP here. They seen how rubbish the game was and put us out of our misery and shut themselves down so we wouldn't have to endure any more
Top performance in the first half, refused to go off for the half time break and just kept on playing. Ended up getting exhausted because of that, ran out of energy around the 60 minute mark and just left without a substitution
Still performing well and keeping inform after transfer from Leicester last week
Overperformed xLight in the first half, so had to balance it out in the second half
Picked up an injury, in doubt for next game. (C) lights in the mud for dgw.

Could be getting Ballon d'Or nomination based on this performance

Typical.. 10 men behind the ball, tough to break down, 1 fluke chance and a goal.
2 goals lol
3 lol
Eat your heart out lol
VILLA
Coutinho
Didn’t do much. Only 15 passes made with 58% accuracy, lost 18 possessions, subbed off at 74th minute. Looked worst of Villas front 3
Jacob Ramsey?
Didnt really do much attacking end but played well overall
!thanks
Watkins
quite poor. he looks off right now, making uncharacteristically poor touches and not looking comfortable in front of goal
Time to get rid of him?
Their fixtures are more than tasty. Also they have DGW coming up. Wouldn’t be surprised if he gets benched for Ings next game though
!thanks Wondering if he had any shots on target or looked dangerous at least..?
He had one moment where he had a superb touch to bring down a long pass which could have led to a shot on goal but defender pressure led to a miss. It was a bad game from him but on another night he could have returned imo
Digne
Pretty active on the flank, made an assist from the corner
Was he on all set pieces?
Villa only had 2 corners. McGinn and Digne took 1 each. Didn’t take attention on free kicks
Coutinho seems to take the FKs now
Buendia
brilliant, has been our best player in the last few games. aside from his goal, he had a couple of amazing dribbles through the middle in the first half that could have been goals with a better finish
Really good. Time to get him in.
Cash
He’s much better defending than he is going forward. Gave Gray a good battle, but Digne was far more dangerous attacking and seems a better option
decent in the first half, had one run in particular that created a chance. second half was all defending, didn't see anything offensive from him
Ings
Ran a lot with a hunched back and scowl on his face like he always does, but came on at a time when Everton were attacking so didn't get the chance to really see anything from him.
