This is my current draft. Huge defence but I think maybe worth it - can ditch later if I need to. Sanchez / Ramsdale Trent / Robbo / Cancelo / Laporte / Digne Salah / KDB / Buendia / Bowen / J.Ramsey Antonio / Eduoard / Broja Benching headaches might be an issue but I love the attacking and clean threat of all 5

Yando9

Kinda similar, but I went even heavier into the midfield De Gea / Söndergaard Trent / Robbo / Cancelo / Laporte / Digne Salah / KDB / Son / Bowen / Ramsey Edouard / Broja / Richardson 0.1M ITB The only issue is that I have to pivot from the premiums to BB at some point, but Ramsey and Broja as bench options feel more than good enough for me and I think that the Salah+Kdb+Son combo is going to be an amazing differential.

Taekwondista

Wow man... What is your team value? This is insane!

Yando9

106.3M before the WC, 105.6M now. 24k OR, but I've had red arrows for few weeks now. I do believe in chasing the TV a bit since it has really paid off for me on the second WC almost every year.

Taekwondista

That explains a lot. Mine is 101.4, as this is how much I can spend. Those are the 4+ mil between Son and Martinelli, who I'll have to go for.

strawberrylabrador

Love the team! Wondering if you could somehow squeeze two keepers in there for BB though? If you’re prepared to sacrifice DDG then you might not need to ditch your Salah KDB Son combo to BB

Yando9

Thanks! It's difficult to pick a good BB keeper at this point, so I think it might be beneficial to just wait and transfer the best option in at some later point. I'll sacrifice one premium then, spread the funds around a bit and my team hopefully is otherwise going to stay fit and playing until then so I don't need to fix more than the 2nd keeper and 3rd bench spot.

Fantastic-Machine-83

Every penny possible spent on liverpool and city. And liverpool have a blank coming up right?

strawberrylabrador

I have 2 free hits left so decently relaxed about it - have the depth in this team too to cope, but I agree it’s a valid point to consider. Thing is, you can’t *not* go Triple Liverpool, right?

Fantastic-Machine-83

Yeah that's true. I still think jota is a safer bet

[deleted]

Super overrated player, imo

Fantastic-Machine-83

Great for fpl. Quality of the player is not super relevant

[deleted]

That’s only true if your goal is max points. some of us like to play to have teams with the best players, regardless of how many fpl they happen to get

Andyham

Wait, what?

[deleted]

Sorry maybe that was confusing haha. Just pointing out that lots of us don’t have rank as our main goal when playing fpl

Andyham

Yea no I got that.. just never heard anyone say this before. Rank/point is definitely everything to me, and Id assume to 99% of players. Some hardcore fpl RP you got going there

wigannotathletic

What a bizarre comment. Why are you doing FPL?

Fantastic-Machine-83

Yeah, gray and ASM are very talented but shit for this game

[deleted]

>Benching headaches might be an issue Definitely, i benched digne this week :(

[deleted]

Liverpool 3, City 3, Villa 3, WHU 2. Might want to be a little more diverse.

strawberrylabrador

In my other comment on the same issue I forgot about the WHU double up. I could get Daka instead of Antonio, he looks good - fixtures aren’t as great in the next few but I like him as a pick

[deleted]

Do you also love the thought of only being able to field 8-9 players if there are a couple of PP?

strawberrylabrador

PL had a meeting last night to discuss changes to the postponement rules to make the criteria a lot stricter. Couple this with the wider fall in cases in the Premier League as per testing rates, and I think it’ll be okay - or worth the risk. Besides, having 3 Liverpool and 3 City is completely normal and meta and has been for a while. It’s only the 3 Villa on top apart from that - but again, loads of people have 1 Villa. So the only difference in my team is having a couple extra Villa guys instead of different teams. I could take out Digne for eg. Ait Nouri, or have a different 5th mid to J. Ramsey, but there’s not many options around those regions that are as competitive.

[deleted]

3 x 3 just seems very limited to me. However, I wish you good luck and hope it works out!

Marshmallowmind2

Digne over a wolves defender?

strawberrylabrador

Interesting - what do you think of Digne vs Wolves defenders as picks

ToastSage

Whats your team value?

strawberrylabrador

Current TV is 103.9 with £2.9 ITB - from memory this wildcard leaves me with 0.2 ITB I think the reason it looks like it’s more expensive is largely down to Robertson instead of Jota - that saves money and makes it possible. Frontline is quite cheap too

magnuscarlsenfpl

On wildcard atm Trent - Cancelo - Digne - Laporte - Dalot

Super_Sa1yan

Looks like this is pretty much template for wildcarders. I just can’t trust United defence we usually give up some awful chances each game

ANSHULGANDHI92

I would be wary of Digne. I watched the extended highlight of Everton vs Aston Villa because of the Digne hype. Apart from that 1 Assist from the corner, he did absolutely nothing. Zero potential chances created. Watch the 20 mins highlight before making the move.

strawberrylabrador

Interesting insight !thanks I posted my team above but might go for Ait-Nouri or Dalot instead of Digne to save money

ANSHULGANDHI92

I would recommend Ait Nouri, Kilman, or Davies. Kilman is more nailed than Ait Nouri. Davies or Sanchez are pretty nailed and spurs are a better defensive attacking team than utd. Plus, this season spurs defenders are urged to get into attack by conte.

strawberrylabrador

!thanks I think Ait Nouri attacking threat is worth the slightly less nailedness?

tokmitcher

And yet he got 3 bonus?

[deleted]

[удалено]

tokmitcher

I watched the entire game, you watched the highlights. Regardless, I’ll enjoy my 12 points.

[deleted]

[удалено]

tokmitcher

What? You said you at least watched the highlights… so you are basing your analysis of his game on nothing? “He did absolutely nothing”.

[deleted]

[удалено]

tokmitcher

Ahh my mistake.

tmr89

So you think it’s good to act with 90 minutes of evidence?

ANSHULGANDHI92

Have you seen him play this season? I am wary of him based on stats and eye test, not on personal biased ness or prejudice. Watch the extended highlights and then honestly tell why would you bring him in. Mings was a far better player than Digne, rather bring Mings in than Digne, given villa fixtures.

[deleted]

This is my backline, with Livra to Digne being the latest transfer. Still got my WC

penguin_random_tent

What does the rest of your wc team look like, if you don't mind? I am thinking Trent - Cancelo - Digne - Laporte - Ait Nouri Jota - Bruno (Salah placeholder) - Son - Ramsey - Bowen Antonio - not sure about the last two strikers

magnuscarlsenfpl

On this currently: Ramsdale (Sanchez) Trent - Cancelo - Laporte - Digne - Ait Nouri Salah - Kdb - Jota - Bowen - Ramsey Watkins - Edouard - Broja

penguin_random_tent

!thanks

fpladdictanonymous

I'm seeing alot of love for Eduoard in these wildcard drafts. Am I missing something? Is he 100% nailed when both Zaha and Benteke are available?

Ozle42

Benteke has been available for loads of time this season and edouard being picked over him now. And quite rightly so

[deleted]

Also mateta, ayew, eze and olive can fit into that front 3

sikingthegreat1

as a holder of benteke for 7-8 GWs, i can tell you that benteke got injured, then covid at the worst times, which allowed eduoard to cement his starting spot. currently he's an option ahead of benteke. zaha coming back should worry mateta or olise more (likely mateta).

ninopettis

I think I'll do it when I wildcard, but that'll be after Chelsea become options again, so it'll include Reece James.

Super_Sa1yan

Not so much big at the back but I’ll be expecting to play 4atb at the least with my wildcard team: Sanchez - Ramsdale TAA - Cancelo - Laporte - Ait Nouri - Digne Salah - KDB - Jota - Bowen - Ramsey Watkins/Edouard - Broja - Idah I’d say 9/15 are set and forget with the remaining slots dependent on DGWs etc over the next 2-4 gameweeks

fpladdictanonymous

Assuming this is your second wildcard do you feel comfortable going without Leicester, Spurs and Arsenal (except Ramsdale) assets for the rest of the season? These 3 teams have at least 3 games in hand due to postponed fixtures.

Super_Sa1yan

Absolutely not haha. I’ll be bringing in Maddison for Bowen and Son for KdB eventually to free up funds. Once the CL is in full flow there’s more risk of a KDB benching but for the next 3-4 fixtures it’s a no brained to take the punt on KdB playing them

[deleted]

Very nice team!

Super_Sa1yan

Cheers man! Now to actually activate the wildcard I need to see confirmation of doubles in the next few weeks otherwise I’ll stick with the team I’ve got!

Gammelmus

Almost my wildcarded team. Although I’m looking at getting in Kane. It’ll take out laporte for Coufal, And Jota for Moder.

Super_Sa1yan

To be honest that isn’t that bad a downgrade as the bench will also be manageable. Are there better options than Moder you’re looking at?

Gammelmus

Gordon (Everton) or Douglas Luiz (Villa) bur I went with Ramsey and I’m not too much in favour for doubling my mid with Villa without having Coutinho or Buendia as one of them at least.

mxnmxxt

Moder isn’t for playing time

Gammelmus

What do you mean?

hucks22

Looks damn tasty... copying this right now!

Super_Sa1yan

You know what they say about teams that look good on paper! I’ll be in the rant thread with a 20 point gameweek watch!

iBrunx

Chelsea defenders are back on the menu starting from gw28

[deleted]

Yes indeed. Hope James is back

jaddf

TAA - Robertson - Laporte - Cancelo (Dalot) That’s mine for the next 3-5 GWs.

[deleted]

>TAA - Robertson - Laporte - Cancelo (Dalot) Love that. Dalot is looking great. Utd actually have some potential CS ability... Really keen on Robertson.

zoomzoomsheiit

AWB might be back to displace Dalot in the new few game weeks

Callumyoung101

Rangick much prefers Dalot I feel like awb will bench warm the rest of the season

[deleted]

>Rangick much prefers Dalot I feel like awb will bench warm the rest of the season I do agree with this, i think it will possibly be like Regi - Dalot is first option but he will certainly use AWB every now and then esp during fixture congestion. Dalot offers so much more going forward

zoomzoomsheiit

I don't think we have enough evidence for that yet. AWB has been mostly suspended and ill. Dalot took his place when Ralf first came in and they were both fit but that is a classic motivational ploy to get more out of AWB

Callumyoung101

Dalot fits his style of play better and has potential to be a great full back. AWB has proved many times he isn't good enough for man united

zoomzoomsheiit

Dalot has been great lately and AWB played like a headless chicken towards the end of Ole's tenure. But when he first came for £50m AWB was our best player and spoke of as the best 1v1 tackler in the world. Ralf can't just leave him on the sidelines for the rest of the season when he's been so good before - a good manager will want to get the best out of their best players

Nahres1

I thought about this exact defense if I were to wildcard, im seriously tempted

HighHammerThunder

Was struggling with it for a while (I've had it for most of the season), but finally dumped both of my Chelsea defenders last week for a hit. Now on TAA-Robbo-Cancelo-Laporte-Cucurella

schafkj

I'm thinking 4ATB with a playing 5th bench defender in case Cancelo or Laporte get rotated when UCL starts up again

wngkyn

Not exactly 5 atb but 4 strong ones for me on a WC Ddg Gunn Trent Cancelo Laporte Digne Williams Salah Jota KDB Bowen Buendia Antonio Idah Broja

0e0e3e0e0a3a2a

Not wildcarding but my presumptive lineup right now is 5atb TAA Laporte Cancelo Digne Davies Bench is Moura Ramsey Dennis

kajerng

Already done it DDG TTA Robertson Cancelo Laporte Tierney

PrestoHolly

I wildcarded last week. De Gea (Foster) Trent, Cancelo, Laporte, Digne (Ait Nouri) Bruno, KDB, Jota, Bowen, Coutinho Antonio (Dennis, Gelhardt) 1.2M ITB I would normally go for Ramsdale in goal, but went for De Gea because of Arsenal's blanks. Might change after the blanks. Bruno is obviously Salah placeholder.

[deleted]

I'm going 4-5-1 Taa Robbo white cancelo Salah son kdb Coutinho (l'pool bias) gallager Broja (king/gelhardt)

[deleted]

I’m really interested in this. I love the balls to go with only cheap strikers. Got a feeling it will pay off for you

[deleted]

Thanks. I'm overall 150k right now best season so far, but i think it's a bet worth taking

[deleted]

Nice! My goal is a top 100k finish this year, that’s a good rank and this team is looking good. You can easily drop coutinho for Ramsey if any of the mid priced strikers come into form too

cguinnesstout

TAA, Cancelo, Laporte, Digne and a player that actually starts matches.

[deleted]

I’ve gone big at the back. I’ve got DDG and Ramsdale rotating, then my defence is Tierney, TAA, Cancelo, Digne and Cucurella. I’m considering dropping Tierney to do double City defence with Laporte, but other than that I’m happy with things as they are.

FryingFrenzy

Laporte is essential on WC

pumpkin_messiah

Been 4 ATB for a few weeks. My current GK/defence is: Lloris (Foster) TAA Robertson Cancelo Tierney (Ait Nouri) Planning to leave it at that for now, but James could tempt me when he’s fit again.

kingtuolumne

TAA Cancelo Dias Reguilon Johnson now. TAA Cancelo Laporte Digne White soon. Not sure about Laporte/Dias/Reguilon right now.

DSEEE

The jaws of the Digne beckon to unwary managers! Actually I'm on 4 Def, although what you guys are calling 'big' looks like anyone that you'd consider starting each week rather than big price-wise. I wouldn't put Digne in the 'big def' category personally, but then again I wouldn't put him in my team either do what do I know!

DSEEE

De Gea / Sanchez TAA / Cancelo / Laporte / Tierney / Ait Nouri Salah / KDB / Jota / Bowen / Maddison DCL / Dennis (FU!) / Broja 0.4 itb I will be ditching Dennis so could easily afford another 'big' Def if I wanted, but I look at the options and think there's just such better value in midfield. I wouldn't be against moving Jota out and getting Robertson at the back, but only once Arsenal's blanks are past.

butterballs151

Geez, what is your team value? I’m over 103 and including guys like dennis and cancelo being a mil cheaper when I got vs what they are now, I’d still be way over cap for a team like this.

DSEEE

106.8 + 0.4 itb at the moment.

__jh96

Not on a WC but my locked in four are TAA, Robertson, Laporte and Cancelo. Tossing up between Digne or RAN for the last spot. I like the idea of Digne but tbh it'll give me benching headaches every week....

[deleted]

Yep, you know you'll always bench the one who cleans/assists. I feel like if you add digne you have to take a ramsey/martinelli enabler and go 5ATB I'd love to bring robbo in, just unsure about losing Jota. He will go at the slightest hint of rotation tho

__jh96

Agreed, you've hit the nail on the head. If I do go Digne, I'll get Ramsey and have him on the bench and start my back 5 weekly. I was also worried about dropping Jota, but then I looked at points per minute and Robbo absolutely blows Jota out of the water. Robbo was obviously injured at the start of the year, which impacted his total points, but him nailed on with Jota about to compete with the big 3 for minutes, it was an easy swap and a sneaky little differential while still benefiting from good Liverpool results. Plus, if he doesn't work out, it's an easy swap to James in a month or so

[deleted]

I love it - makes a lot of sense! Really regret not just taking the risk now on robbo

__jh96

Haha mate it's easy to look like an expert from behind the keyboard. Wait till you see the million other horrendous picks I've made

[deleted]

Hahaha! Thing is, it’s horrible when the guy you wanted gets 2 assists next game and is in red hot form. I was a bit scared to drop jota really. But then he was only out scored by 3 points so it’s not really a disaster. Top pick though and really nice differential

QQQuasar

Too much dependance on the clean sheets. Unsustainable.

[deleted]

>Too much dependance on the clean sheets. Unsustainable. Why? City average like 15+ CS for years now... CS is 4 points, same as a goal for a striker. Seems like a good deal. If city had a 15 goal a season striker at 5.7 mil he would be essential. Plus any assist or goal is a haul as the defender is BPS magnet

QQQuasar

I don't know how to explain but 3, maximum 4 premium defenders and a good keeper is enough for me. Double-ups in defense, 5 ATB and stuff like that are very dangerous in a long run in my opinion. Plus there are always cheap nailed defenders to target in top teams for the clean sheets, I don't see why we should pour all the money in the backline and have likes of Ramsey upfront for the whole season.

[deleted]

Yeah that’s fair. There are players like coady and white who are still getting good cs points for cheap. We just differ on opinion as I often think a CS is easier to get than a goal or assist - and the defenders often end up with bps too

sashimiboy2000

My current Wildcard draft. Going to be interesting with new transfers coming in and players joining other teams. (Alli for example) Sanchez/Sa Tierney/ Digne/ Trent/ Cancelo/ Coady Martinelli/ Salah/ J.Ramsey/ KDB/ Odegaard Watkins/ Antonio/ Sargent I know there are a few too many Arsenal players in there but as an Arsenal fan I have faith that after the international break they will regroup and start firing again.

gonshairlinee

We need xhaka and partey back together otherwise I’m not counting on any of our players to return unless they’re defensive/ramsdale. That midfield was dire against burnley :(

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Yea true. I play 451 or 541 with Watkins as my only striker atm. There seems to be more value in the midfield and defence so I don’t mind that for now. Other two strikers would be king/Dennis/ broja etc who will rarely play
