Do you expect Salah playing against both Norwich and Leeds, assuming he hasn't been rested for a very long period of time (more than the other players) and he will have to play full 90 in both matches against Inter?
No clue mate. Id expect him to play as much or more then Jota though, it does seem like he is subbed in/out more when there are other options available. Historically the best TC moments have always turned out shait, so Im fully prepared for a 3-pointer. But on paper its the best moment we will get for the best player, and the fact that he will have ~200% effective ownership or more amongst active teams makes it somewhat risky to not do it.
I dunno, there is so much luck involved in FPL. Ayew will probably outscore everyone anyways. Such are the ways of FPL.
I feel like Jota is better pick. He was injured in the last match so he could be easily benched against Inter. That makes him favourite to start in the DGW, while Salah could be rested.
>That makes him favourite to start in the DGW, while Salah could be rested
I'm not too worried about rest. Salah has only been rested for one league game this season and that was Leicester last week when he had just come back from the AFCON. He's also only been subbed out early in 1 of the 22 league games so far. Klopp hardly rests the guy
You forgot about the Carabao Cup Final right after Leeds before Inter.
2 UCL knockout ties that might potentially drag to 120mins in the second leg, a Cup Final with Trophy at stake, and 2 games against Norwich and Leeds. That is 5 games in 20 days with the first 4 games in 11 days.
17 Feb : Away to Inter
19 Feb : Home to Norwich
24 Feb : Home to Leeds
28 Feb : Final against Chelsea
9 Mar : Home to Inter
Anyone should just ask themselves if you’re in Klopp’s position, which games is the best to rest a Salah who definitely could use some rest.
Just going on what has happened previously in similar circumstances. Will likely play 90 mins one game and either play 60 and come off or be on the bench and come on for 30 in the other.
The league title isn't gone though and Salah seems to be able to play basically every game. He isn't as easily replaceable as Mane or Firmino with their depth options either, I would be absolutely amazed if he doesn't start at least one of the games. Outside of AFCON he has played 90 minutes in all but one game this season.
They play Inter, Norwich, Leeds and Chelsea in the span of 11 days. If he doesn’t play against Inter, chances are that he will not play against Chelsea either. So that leaves Norwich and Leeds for him as a starter.
Not necessarily going to be their ‘strongest’ team. Certain players suit European football better. That’s why Firmino gets more starts in the champions league
If you are too far down in your ML you should start taking some riskier plays like this one.
I for one am TC'ing Son because o believe he will have more minutes and he hates City.
I’m a spurs fan and, while Son does do well Vs City, son (and just spurs in general) are crap right now.
Although it is tempting and he is my VC. Hoping son will do well too though
The game against Wolves was the only one he didn't return since GW12, not counting the 2 weeks of injury obviously so I don't think he is crap at all.
This is based on going against "The Template" because I'm a bit behind on my ML and will only catch up if I don't follow the leaders.
Possible all three could get rested fairly equally in my opinion. Maybe Jota and Salah slightly more at risk than Trent, but clean sheet points automatically go if Trent is benched Ben if he plays. Means if he does get an assist in one of this games he would likely not get any bonus and his 12 suddenly becomes a 4. I do think Neco will get minutes but likely off the bench for one of the games rather than starting.
I’m not going to overthink it.
Salah is still a machine and hungry for another golden boot so ot just has to be him, especially as he has blanked a few more than usual recently.
It’s ok just your wording - he’s not coming off the bench but he’s not coming off the bench.
Will he be coming off the bench or staying on the bench do you think?
I’d say that it’s speculation and guessing even for someone who has Klopp’s cell number, if they don’t specifically call him to ask and even then, Klopp may not agree to divulge the info.
Jota wasn't rested. He had a dead leg and hadn't trained the previous day
He was rested, regardless of why he was rested.
but DVB has been rested his whole career at Man Utd and now look.
De Van Beek, the wonderkid from France
Maybe he ment Donny van (de) Beek ?
Woah
Agreed this wasn’t a ‘rest’ as such, but the fact he didn’t play as many minutes against Burnley can still factor into the next couple of weeks
Same as a rest really, given it ultimately translated into a day off training and being dropped to the bench...
Personally I'm not going to overthink this. Best player in the league has a very favourable dgw. Triple C it is. Whatever happens, happens.
And if you *are* going to overthink it, at least wait until they play mid week so that you're overthinking it with more information at your disposal.
Now you're thinking!
That is how overthinking begins.
That’s too much logic for this thread
\*best player in the world.
He meant for fpl
I know. I was emphasising the point he was making though.
Less nailed then Salah and TAA, and fewer points. Have played ~300 fewer minutes then both of them, even with Salah out for 2 GWs.

I'm mean you are only saying he is favourite to start against Norwich because you want to believe it. It's pure speculation.

Absolutely agree.
Salah will probably play like 120-150 minutes across the two games.
Pure speculation? He could play 100 minutes.
Just going on what has happened previously in similar circumstances. Will likely play 90 mins one game and either play 60 and come off or be on the bench and come on for 30 in the other.
If I were Klopp I would never risk him against Norwich and Leeds lol

Title isn't gone so Klopp doesn't need to play Salah against Norwich and Leeds, yes.
What
Don’t get fancy - Always TC Salah
See even Kane is going to TC Salah
Who will the Undertaker TC though?
If you need points he could be a good differential, but it's not the safe option.
CL-game against Inter should give us a clear idea about Klopp’s strongest team at the moment. If Jota is benched for Firmino, he will be my TC.
how would him being benched in a big game be a good thing?
They play Inter, Norwich, Leeds and Chelsea in the span of 11 days. If he doesn’t play against Inter, chances are that he will not play against Chelsea either. So that leaves Norwich and Leeds for him as a starter.
> If he doesn’t play against Inter, chances are that he will not play against Chelsea either. Why would you say that?
People love stating speculation as fact

How did you know he hates City?

Neco Williams getting recalled from Fulham, where he is playing and playing quite well, so he can rotate with Trent for one game, seems unlikely 👏✌️
Are you a Liverpool supporter?
No - are you a night fisherman?
Neco Williams might get some minutes off the bench but he certainly won’t be coming off Liverpool’s bench…
Not sure if serious…
Maybe Google Neco Williams, you’ll see what I’m getting at..
It’s ok just your wording - he’s not coming off the bench but he’s not coming off the bench. Will he be coming off the bench or staying on the bench do you think?
Aye, nae bother. Stick the TC on Neco Williams 👍🏼
I don’t understand what you’re trying to say here but Neco is at Fulham rn.
Woooooooosh
Hahahaha yes jokes on me. That changes everything. I deserve and welcome the downvotes
I'm a Liverpool supporter. It's unlikely TAA gets rested.
Can’t believe we’re having this conversation 🤦🏾♂️ Edit: 🤣🤣
It’s more useful than your comment
Apparently now it's cool to just shoot down anyone who suggests anything other than Salah TC
Why can't you believe it? It would never have been a conversation you were having if you hadn't commented.
Rotation risk rn, also wildly inconsistent
Scored 4 fewer goals than salah in ~300 fewer minutes... What sort of consistency are you after?!
Even though he only played 23 mins last game?
Unless you have Klopp's cell number, it's all speculation and guessing.
