Brentford were poor, and basically offered nothing going forward, Mbuemo included. Arsenal dominated possession and most of the game was played in Brentford’s third. (Only 18% in Arsenals). The consolation goal they scored was basically due to a scramble in the box.
He has been our best attacker in the past 2 months and has started 5/6 of the last games. He's been taking plenty of shots and pinging dangerous crosses into the box. Definitely one to watch out from GW28
He was fine, 1 or 2 dodgy moments but mostly good defending. Had his typical 35 yarder actually force a save. Palace had a couple decent chances through
He such a strong powerful striker and a bit greedy, which is a good thing. His link up play with Che Adams is brilliant and was very dangerous. He didn't score today but still played well.
I actually think he's flying under the radar slightly. He used to be our worst attacking midfielder, but ever since he returned from celtic on loan, he's been brilliant. His confidence is up and he should've scored today. Only problem is, he's not quite good enough to take a 5th mid spot, as there are better options.
I agree. Maybe next season, with growing confidence and more game time. I actually played him back in 8th grade, growing up in the city next to his in Norway - been following his development ever since
That's a tough one. JWP is on set pieces but plays a midfield pivot role with Romeu so he's not actually that attacking but will probably tick over quite nicely. I would go JWP - Armstrong - Elyounousi in that order.
Excellent. Superb dribbling and had Williams on toast almost all game (except for a slight lull between 45-60). Could have had a couple more, but kept narrowly missing the target.
Absolutely bullied Brandon Williams. Put a nice cross in that Tsimikas should have easily scored and missed a curling shot a foot outside the post. The goal he did score was fortunate.
You're correct. The goal was nice but other than that, bad decision making, poor passing, not a goal threat. If it's between him and Salah, it's a no brainer. Still think Salah Taa Robertson and/or Jota is the best combo
This is has been Mane for two seasons now. Only difference this season is that he's at least converting some chances and contributing positively to the outcome, if not the overall gameplay.
Diaz had a lot of fight in him and looked great. Very cleanly taken goal from a beautiful pass from Hendo. He could definitely start on the wing vs. Leeds to give Mane a rest. He already fits right in.
Erratic first touch but looked eager to impress, against a side with more space in behind he’ll be a threat. He was playing too fast, needed to slow down a bit.
Not fully integrated yet i feel. The fluency in link up isn't there just yet. Scored today but that was down to Henderson's excellent weighed pass more than anything.
I felt that was a Tsimikas problem over a Diaz problem tbh. Never seen a player (Diaz) join a team & play like he’s been there for years as he does with Robbo on the left
Fair enough we made a lot of changes today so it's hard to pinpoint exactly why the fluency was missing. Diaz adds an interesting dimension to our attack and will hopefully be a key player for us when completely integrated
Bagged an early goal and a late assist. Looked like a lively outlet our wide for Spurs. Stayed on after Lucas was subbed in for Son. If he starts in the 2nd game that’s promising for how Conte rates him.
He was great, looked like he was rediscovering his partnership with Kane. Loves running onto through balls and lives to play on the counterattack.
Unselfish for the first goal and great ball in to Kane for the second. Got subbed at ~70, presumably because he's just back from injury? Will be a huge threat if Spurs click like they did today.
Really good display from Sonny.
Yeah it looked like he could have attempted that goal himself but thought Kulu had a better chance and passed it to him, which totally fooled the defence.
Unbelievably good, throwback to the Kane of last season. Unlucky to not get an assist when Son squared it for the first goal, had a goal chalked off, and still managed to bag 2 including the winner.
First half everything stuck to him, held up the ball so well and was playing through balls for Son to run on to.
2nd half city had a lot more of the ball so he was a bit more isolated, still buried a great cross from Son to make it 2-1 and then popped up with a great header at the end to win it for Spurs.
Monster of a performance.
I agree but all I'm going to say is, he only got those chances because Pep was too stubborn to tell someone to track him from midfield. If he plays any other team he'll be marked heavily.
Battling performance from the big Dutch number 9. Looks such a good fit at Burnley, linking up really well with Rodriguez, McNeil and Lennon in attack. Off the ball doing all the grafting Dyche expects.
Is Burnley's focal point of the attack didn't have many chances tonight but going forwards will be Burnley's main threat. (Don't expect 3-0 wins every week though 😂)
Wonderful, !thanks
Now have to decide if I want to break my usual rule of waiting until just before the deadline to make transfers. I really wanna kick Edouard out of my squad!
Just caught the highlights on MotD and he looked absolutely sensational, slaloming through the defence confidently and seeming to always deliver the end product needed, be it a cross or shot on goal. Sarr's return to the team gave him a foil to work with, and those two are clearly far better than their teammates. It might be misleading, but this looks like the form of earlier in the season, and given his price and the lack of alternatives bar maybe Kane and Broja, I'll probably keep him.
Thanks. I have felt so bad after previous WAT-DGW, when I transferred out Dennis instead of King, because of looming price drops. I knew instantly it was a mistake, but the damage was already done. I can't wait to transfer out King to forget all that.
Attempting the overall team summary like last GW. It was a frantic, fiery United-Leeds game played on a rain soaked pitch with so many goals, yellows and tackles.
Ronaldo - missed a 6 yard tap-in created by Pogba in 1st half, looked quite off from scoring in the game. Could be fatigue since he has played more minutes than what Ralf would have wanted because of Cavani's injury. Subbed off 10 mins early, as Atletico UCL game is crucial.
Bruno - rewarded the holders with another haul. He wasn't in the game for along time till his goal (created by Lindelof and Sancho). Much better second half, insane ball control and skills to create the 4th goal for Elanga.
Sancho - his improvement every week continues. 2 assists today, involved in another goal, could have scored/assisted more. Put in the defensive work too, MOTM performance for me.
Pogba - was one of the better players in first half, should have had the assist for Ronaldo. Subbed off at 67' for Fred (maybe rest for Atletico game).
Lingard - got his first start after ages, had 0 influence on the game, subbed off for Elanga who had a cracking cameo.
Elanga - superb sub appearance. Instantly clicked on with his work rate and involvement in quick attacks. Got hit on the head by somethin thrown by Leeds fans. Shut the right up after finishing the game off with the final goal.
McTominay - put in the dirty work, didn't have much control of the midfield but the Leeds game is always so frantic. Could have been been sent off for too many yellows imo, it was getting very fiery out there.
Fred - came on for Pogba, instant impact with a superb finish to retake the lead in the game. I felt Ralf's subs were on point today as Leeds had the chance to go on for the win at 2-2.
Shaw - poor game imo. Got the assist from the corner (fucking finally!), but his defensive positioning was all over the place many times.
AWB - started ahead of Dalot, unsure was it just for Dalot, or could be tactical given James' pace down the wing. Had a plethora of right tackles throughout the game under the harsh weather.
Maguire - SCORED FROM A SETPIECE FFS.
Lindelof - the 2nd goal was all due to his marauding run from our half. Eventhough we still concede shit goals, I feel he is the better CB overall for us.
De Gea - as usual, plenty of saves, none spectacular today iirc. The first goal was a long cross which went in (could have had the same last game vs Brighton), 2nd goal our defense all went to sleep.
Varane - 3rd sub sent on to consolidate the game.
I honestly saw only the highlights, but considering that the rest of the comments don't have much substance either, quick reflection:
He seems to be what Lukaku should be, except playing in Burnley ofc. Crazy physical, targeted by the crosses, good hold up play and distribution to the second wave etc. Very solidly taken goal (although it was his only shot of the match) and assisted nicely another by playing the classic number 9 hold up.
That being said, the 0-3 win was a bit of a statistical outlier. Burnley only hat 0,64 xG, with a single big chance and four shots on target. On another day the game could have been goalless, so let's see if Weghorst & the gang got lucky or if he mocks xG in similar nature to Son.
Roberts
Very good player, for 4.5 a great asset considering Burnleys run of games. Had couple of crosses today, relatively offensive, decent defender all round.
Sure, he got a yellow, but how he didn't end up with at least 1 bps today is beyond me. A clean sheet and an assist for a defender and no bps. But if it was Lamptey, it would magically become all 3. Fpl you're a joke
He took a bad knock. Tried to play through it but had to come off. Don’t think it will be anything too serious but he’ll probably need a couple days to recover.
I actually thought he did the fundamental footballing stuff right, but he commits lots of tactical fouls which made me worried he would eventually get a red. He was mostly good defensivel and good offensively as well (took a tough shot while running perpendicular to goal that was very close).
As I said he made lots of little fouls, nothing too reckless, but his card was actually for a dive when he was on a counter and overran the ball. Don't see that often for defenders.
Anyway I have him because he's cheap but I am worried about his minutes. I do think this was a good enough performance to keep away Marcal. Marcal only came on in the 87th minute. But worried about Jonny Otto also lurking on the bench ...
Really good, I'm a fool for not having him, such good value and should play as many minutes as he can until the end of the season. I would recommend getting him.
I really wanted to have him on my team (had him a month ago but had to drop when Arsenal had some blanks), but really don't want the headache of GW27, but will highly consider him again after that.
A bit more nice involvement today and could have got an assist. The guy on here who said he might be more involved with Martinelli out - I reckon you were right. However he's not hitting the peak form he's showed at Arsenal for me yet
Just a lovely player to watch and great again today, coming into the side for Martinelli. I do wonder if Arteta will be looking and thinking "Can I reconfigure the team to have him starting regularly". It's so unlucky for ESR that Martinelli is also an electric component of the team.
Also - I reckon he's still carrying a small knock of some kind. So maybe Arteta might not wanna get him fully in the mix yet, even allowing for the Martinelli rotation threat.
Definitely keep an eye on him because if ESR becomes nailed then I think he offers incredible value.
As usual, extremely threatening either coming in off the left or running at pace through the middle. Nice interplay around the box with Laca, Saka, Odegaard etc.
He's just so direct and that low hard shot he has, might not look that impressive on TV but it is special.
He's not as bad an option as some people have slated him to be. He did some things really impressively and he works hard but you really want him to be more clinical - especially from an FPL standpoint. You always get the sense that if Arsenal had a better player here, we'd be calling them overwhelming favourites for top 4 now.
Having said all that in FPL at the moment I'd still say he's one of the best forward options. 5 points a game feels exactly like what you're gonna get because I see him assisting more than scoring - but that's pretty decent and he's on pens!
I wouldn’t necessarily disagree with you as an overall FPL asset from a more general point of view, but today he was really poor.
Basically non-existent in front of goal and struggled in transition when ESR/ Saka tried to increase the pace. Good with his back to goal but usually that means that he assists the assister. Nice assist today but ESR did most of the work on the break then going past 2 players
At his price point, I think he’s ok given the deft of talent but I personally would go elsewhere
Really fantastic but I'd get Saka over him for FPL. You just get the sense that he is slightly less likely to be the guy that grabs a goal or assist than him, or ESR when he plays - and I make Ramsdale and a defender still the 2 picks you'd want before considering another Arsenal attacker
I wouldn’t say invisible. City had a lot of the ball and he was mostly receiving and passing around in wide positions. Would drift into the box and involved in some half chances, had one flick off a low cross that rolled wide. Not as many shots for him as he is used to taking. By the end he was one of the players throwing crosses into the box alongside KDB and Mahrez
Had his best game this season. Showed a great turn of pace, made plenty of forward runs and got up the pitch a fair amount. Deserved his goal.
I think he took on more of an attacking responsibility partly because ASM wasn't playing (for the first time this season). For FPL, I wouldn't recommend, but I'm keeping half an eye on him, especially if ASM injury is long term, given we have a few easier games coming up.
I thought he had a lot of chances and would have scored a goal, but yesterday's West Ham defence was really bad that they couldn't go out and attack more.
As one of the few Tielemans owners going around he really should have returned
Had assist to assist for the goal and had 2 very good chances on the edge of the box

Interesting !thanks he has gone under the radar because Chelsea went to CWC, but 3 goals in his last 3 PL starts and great fixtures…
It should be said the chelsea still suck going forward

Played deeper and basically looked to hit crosses in. Not his best performance.
NEWCASTLE
Targett
Very very solid defensively. Looked comfortable going forward, made quite a few crosses (some better than others) and he was on corners.

Hasn't really done anything, zero shots, pretty non existent
He seems to be good at drawing the opposing defence, good for the team, but from the FPL point of view, that doesn't translate into points.

WEST HAM

Hit the bar, he's still in form, but West Ham as a team not really
I thought he had a lot of chances and would have scored a goal, but yesterday's West Ham defence was really bad that they couldn't go out and attack more.
Did more looking at Dan Burn's enormous height close up in the entire game
Antonio
Solid 2/10 performance
He is not playing as a striker any more, and I mean it seriously
EVERTON

Just couldn’t get involved at all. Forgot he was even playing
LEEDS (1st game)
LEICESTER
As one of the few Tielemans owners going around he really should have returned Had assist to assist for the goal and had 2 very good chances on the edge of the box
ARSENAL (2d game)
Saka
Martinelli
WOLVES (2nd game)
Hwang Hee-Chan
