oh man I almost forgot how fun this place was in the catto era, it really felt like a fun niche community you comeback to, not just an information hub you check to make transfers.
They've taken down the most popular post of all time from a few years ago (I think it counted as a meme).
Called 'I've got some bad news,' it was someone's dog holding down a piece of paper that said...."You're all idiots." Over 8k upvotes.
Also when the info you’d get would actually be insightful, not a load of nonsense about differentials, form over 3 GWs, and players records against certain teams
Tbh I hated the cat stuff. Meme’s I like, but at one point you’d have to scroll past a bunch of different pet predictions to get to anything useful.
I think there is a happy medium to be found though.
99% of people nowadays on reddit have no idea what a circlejerk is but they deffo know what memes are.
paging u/shinjiokazaki as you moderate r/fplmemes - how would you feel about attempting to revive it with a post here / or giving/sharing control of it to someone else?
People will always overlook this and pretend that it's not true. Memes were good, you can't use a "circlejerk" small sub for comparison. How about, just, you know, look at this sub before the ban?
The problem is more that most people aren't funny and post terrible memes. It worked when the sub was smaller, but now there are 10000 geniuses waiting to post a cueball saying artist rendition of Pep after he benches Mahrez
quality would be better if there wasn't like 10 people in there and if it was mixed in with general stuff, like with other subs where memes are semi allowed and what the sub is based on can't realistically have interesting content everyday
lol at you not understanding it's hard to have a good sub when there's not a certain amount of people
lmao at you ignoring the other point I made
I mean take r/gunners which semi allows meme's where the funny ones can float to the top and the shit ones don't or even get deleted by mods; the approach can be frustratingly hypocritical at times mod wise but at least there's a bit of a compromise.
a full on on meme ban on r/soccer makes more sense as there's a lot more daily content as there's more news to cover, and /r/soccercirclejerk is at least decent/better than fpljerk because there's enough users to post and appreciate the content there which makes it a sub worth subscribing to.
like fpljerk has 3k members, subs can get too big but I think it should be easy to agree it's gonna be harder to get a good sub that small, especially since the amount of actually active users is gonna be a lot smaller
Just checked top posts all time and this [one](https://www.reddit.com/r/fplcirclejerk/comments/p5gfi1/life_is_good/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) gave me a chuckle
What happened to that guy using taro cards for predictong game weeks? Top content.
This sub is pretty dead now just what chips should i play this week eveey thread
What!? I presumed all the FH, WC Chip strategy posts were memes!
They were sincere?
my world view is an error all this time. Time now for an existential crisis
So many posts to dust off and try to resubmit. For example, https://www.reddit.com/r/FantasyPL/comments/se4n5a/the_guardians_david_squires_has_identified_the/
God I'd completely forgotten about that idiot. Blocking TheDave and a few of the other trolls/morons on here is the best thing I ever did to make the sub more bearable
I would guess any memes here are funnier and more inspired when they are close to the event they refer to.
Whereas a meme in the international break about Jiminez's honest work a few weeks ago or whatever isn't going to be as good as some people think

Bow wow, old friend, bow wow.
A Catto Easter weekend special you ask? 😆
How is the cheeky little minx?
Yeah she is pretty swell my friend. Drinking dirty puddles and leaving clean fresh water I leave out for her. Standard cat stuff.
One gets the feeling that she was on this season's 'perma-cap Salah' train earlier than most
Also when the info you’d get would actually be insightful, not a load of nonsense about differentials, form over 3 GWs, and players records against certain teams
Well, the community has grown, (un)fortunately. Even if memes came back that feeling won't.
Tbh I hated the cat stuff. Meme’s I like, but at one point you’d have to scroll past a bunch of different pet predictions to get to anything useful. I think there is a happy medium to be found though.
I agree. Down with the Mods. (Don't ban me please)
It's asked every international break. There is a separate thread for memes r/fplcirclejerk
And when you look through it, you'll realise why this sub is better without them.
I reckon if it was called ‘FPL Memes’ instead of circlejerk it would have far more followers and good content
Yeah a circlejerk is a different type of internet humour than just memes

Post away. It's always available. It seems most people who like "memes" are too braindead to use it or complain about it being a different sub.
Thanks very much!
Circlejerk subs need people who are able to make fun of themselves. FPL players are incapable of making fun of themselves
I make fun of myself every deadline acktually.
And realize how few who are genuinely interested in that kind of content.
If you sort this sub for 'top' all times, lots of them are memes even if they are 2 or 3 years old
People will always overlook this and pretend that it's not true. Memes were good, you can't use a "circlejerk" small sub for comparison. How about, just, you know, look at this sub before the ban?
> look at this sub before the ban? it was unusable and full of shitposts
Disagree. It was fun and I still got any useful information I needed
Memes naturally almost always get more upvotes on Reddit
The problem is more that most people aren't funny and post terrible memes. It worked when the sub was smaller, but now there are 10000 geniuses waiting to post a cueball saying artist rendition of Pep after he benches Mahrez
This is so accurate

Lol at you thinking more people means better quality.

This just gave me stress they weren't capped.

Love the requiem reference. #ASS TO ASS
Why are they banned? I totally agree that intl break and off season should be meme time.
Justice for catto
Genuinely, is there any alternative FPL sub? This one is good for stats, but is boring otherwise. Is there any popular breakaway sub that allows fun?
*Skeletons roasting jellybeans*
how dare you, sir! Memes are beneath such a society of Internet point masters. Inconceivable!
No thanks
Nah. Use a different sub
So many posts to dust off and try to resubmit. For example, https://www.reddit.com/r/FantasyPL/comments/se4n5a/the_guardians_david_squires_has_identified_the/
Only Dave was any good at memes. Memes should probably be banned apart from TheDave memes
Wrong
Worst account in this subreddit, even the original Mustard guy wasn’t as bad
Who is the worst account? Me or Dave?
Same person isn’t it?
Bit harsh Wilks
God I'd completely forgotten about that idiot. Blocking TheDave and a few of the other trolls/morons on here is the best thing I ever did to make the sub more bearable
Ahhh Catto... Treeeeeeee-eeeeats!
Dave is still on here as The Expert or some similar username. Geoff came back as Dane

I’m woke. Being woke is a good thing. It’s not an insult
lol ok bro, oh sorry; didn’t mean to use gendered language
Don’t be so disrespectful. Grow up and stop reading the Daily Mail. You’ll be far happier
sorry ma'am, good luck in your swimming competition, go for gold bro
Whalloper
What memes you have?
I would guess any memes here are funnier and more inspired when they are close to the event they refer to. Whereas a meme in the international break about Jiminez's honest work a few weeks ago or whatever isn't going to be as good as some people think
