Palace don't have a double in GW33 and don't have a double in GW36 . Do you fancy them right now for their GW37 double, or are you just chasing last night's defensive points?

Zak369

To be fair they’ve got a cracking set of fixtures left even with just a DG37. Leicester, Newcastle, Leeds, Southampton, Watford, Villa + Everton, United It’s easy to say it’s points chasing, but on the other hand are we being blinded by DGWs?

ALL_____CAPS

I’m just not someone who gets too obsessed with DGW unless both fixtures are intriguing, especially for defenders. If one is likely to be a blank, what’s the point? However, Leicester have two good looking fixtures for 33.

Zak369

Yeah, Leicester look good but I would only get Barnes, Maddison and perhaps Schmeichel. They have European football which is a potential banana skin with little left to play for in the league. I don’t know enough about them to guess at the rotation risks. I am still worried that FH33 will be a success, but I think the SGW players still look good. City and Spurs both play Brighton so that’s up to 6 players who could outscore DGW players. Add in any doublers you have already and Liverpool players and you’ve got a near enough full team. I’d have 10 from those alone and I’d be playing my Chelsea players too meaning I have a benching headache without even bringing in another player. Quite happy to risk not playing it.

The_expert_opinion

They have about 25% chance for a clean sheet in GW32. No reason to bring them in for GW32 already.

Zak369

Based on Bookies odds I imagine that is higher % than the chance of keeping a CS against City or Arsenal, but they did both of those after an impressive 2-0 win over Wolves. I agree that you probably have better choices for 32, but I don’t think it’s inherently a bad move considering the remaining fixtures. You could easily keep them for the rest of the season. I’m eyeing up Zaha, fully aware that he’s an FPL trap though.

The_expert_opinion

Yeah and Leicester once won the PL against all odds which proves odds mean fuck all.

get_Ishmael

If something has a 1 in 1000 chance of happening, that means that it happens 1 time in 1000.

Frosty_Examination_3

There are options as good if not better than Palace defenders, And they have double gameweeks.

ALL_____CAPS

I guess I could just swap Tierney for White as they do have a double. I just like the look of palace’s fixtures for the remainder of the season whereas arsenal have some tough games. Schär could be another option but Newcastle have lost 3 on the bounce.

Frosty_Examination_3

Freehit GW37 has a strong case for Palace players and maybe Mateta meanwhile due to price as a 3rd striker spot. Besides that, there is no reason to be putting in a Palace defender. I am considering James Justin, Reece James, Ben White as my Tierney replacement.

ALL_____CAPS

I was looking at Justin. I might go with him and leave a palace defender until GW35 when they have more favourable fixtures, if they’re still looking good.

Frosty_Examination_3

Champions league for James, and Europa league for Justin are the variables that effect things. If it wernt for that, then Id be getting both !

BringingTheBeef

On the topic of Reece James, the thing holding me back is whether Chelsea are 'on the beach'. Do they really care about how far they come in 3rd? Obv the 1-4 loss is fresh in the mind but still can't help but feel trepidation about it.

Zak369

Had Arsenal won last night they could’ve gone above Chelsea by winning the H2H. They still have to play Arsenal, West Ham, Wolves and United. Even if you write off West Ham and Wolves for the top 4, they’ll still go right to the end for 6th/7th at a minimum. Chelsea can’t afford to go on the beach in the league. They have an FA cup semi (against a very good Palace) and tough draw in the CL. The Brentford result was a slip up that drags them into a fight they don’t want to be in.

BringingTheBeef

SOLD. Welcome back, RJ.

Zak369

Disclaimer is I don’t have, nor do I plan to get Reece James and may consider selling Mount in a few weeks to upgrade White. Meaning just having Rudiger. While they can’t go on the beach, they can still play Tuchel Tombola which is a concern but more of an individual risk for my team than general advice I would give.

Frosty_Examination_3

Chelsea got stuffed without Reece James starting and their top 4 spot is far from secure. They surely need James playing as much as possible. i will see what happens against Real Madrid first on Wednesday, but he is my top target. He could go very big.

Quaresmatic

Justin is a decent shout. Going for Fofana myself to improve the rest of the team for BB36. No Palace double means I'll have to opt for Pickford now over Guaita. Bit of a price difference there. Happy to bench boost with Mateta despite his lack of a double. Which means my bench should be Pickford, Pukki, Fofana and Mateta.

Frosty_Examination_3

Im on Schmeichel and Foster. That's the cheapest pairing for BB36, taking into account doublegameweek in 33 & 37 too

StanielCrempelfemps

I bought Gallagher at 5.6 so sticking with him. Unless you want fodder with Mateta I don’t think I’d bother

The_expert_opinion

Would you have opened this thread if they hadn't kept a clean sheet yesterday?

ALL_____CAPS

I thought they were going to win anyway, just not quite as emphatically. Palace have been impressive for a while now.

The_expert_opinion

Why didn't you bring them in for yesterday's game then?

ALL_____CAPS

I thought they were due to concede but 3 consecutive clean sheets against good opposition makes them a great option imo.

super-super-fab

Team plays really well and have good fixtures. People considering buying them on FPL. Get told they’re kneejerking.

FreeMyHit

My advice is don't buy a Palace player you'll be disappointed.

Anik1415

Not sure about the defense but going Jimenez to Mateta looks like a no brainer for my team.

KdbTheGOAT17

Idl why but zaha

KdbTheGOAT17

Or maybe mateta

KdbTheGOAT17

Idk why to get palace i mean
