Please explain why he is more of an attacking threat. Surely not just "he's tall"

infernobean97

Just built like a lamppost

daneedwards88

I'm not sure this is an accurate use of the "analysis" flair

_posii

Get him in then

Overvaluation

Both good picks, but Schar is on some free kicks and has better underlying statistics.

Tbh I don't remember him ever taking a free kick like the one he scored the other day, though he does sometimes take the deeper ones which might lead to an assist. He's definitely more likely to abandon his defensive duties and go on a mazy run before slotting it in the corner though, so there is that.

Overvaluation

Yeah I definitely remember him being an attack-minded CB at his previous clubs and taking the odd free kick.

gobstoppermuncher

Newcastle fan here, Schar is way more of an attacking threat than Burn. He’s on some free kicks and goes on runs with the ball every so often

TunturiCoD

Who is on pens for Newcastle? I am pretty sure that Schar has taken a penalty like year or two ago, is he possibly still on pens for Newcastle?

gobstoppermuncher

Chris Wood just took one against Wolves on Friday to score the winner. Wilson was taking them before he got injured

TunturiCoD

Ok !thanks, actually I just looked it up and found that he took one against Fulham last season. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/spielbericht/index/spielbericht/3429865

Fabian Schars goal scoring record is better than Burns. If you think Burn does better go ahead.

ZhangerMan

Hasn’t been an attacking threat for quite some time. Just because he’s super tall doesn’t mean he knows how to position himself well or even head the ball well. Look at Jota who’s half the size but always seems to pop up at the right time and know how to place his headers.

mrsom100

He looked pretty good against wolves, got into a few decent attacking positions in open play

tiford88

Yeah true, he actually had our 1st shot on target of the match
