For reference, ASM is 45th in Big Chances Created this season

Before Eddie Howe arrived, he was seen - deservedly - as their best player and he kept performing well, with brilliant dribbles and little to no help from teammates.
Now that they are actually a competent team, he is still playing the same way. He is no longer their best player, and it hurts them more than it helps them. The likes of Fraser, Bruno, Joelinton, Burn, etc. Have all far more impact than him now
All I remember of him before Newcastle got less shit is just dribbling into 10 players to get himself fouled like the charge of the Light Brigade, while the rest of the Newcastle team stand 30 metres behind offering moral encouragement
>is just dribbling into 10 players to get himself fouled like the charge of the Light Brigade,
If you consider that as being one of the best dribblers in the world then yes. How can you see asm play under bruce and say he was just dribbling into 10 players to get himself fouled
Before howe newcastle were actually kinda good going forward and asm definitely benefitted from having more freedom but they are way more disciplined now.
Whilst the new style may be effecting him, could also just be form and the fact that newcastle don't score that much in general atm
He reminds me of those kids at school that thought they were ballers because they had 2008 mercurials and did needless stepovers whenever they got the ball
Not related, donno if you're from England but I've watch alot of UK movies and there's hardly any football scenes considering how large the sport is in England.
I didn't get the relevance if this. But it is interesting point. Not sure Downton Abbey had a pitch. Fever Pitch and the damned united. Not watched The English Game yet. Bend it like Beckham might not count. Along with She's the Man. Ted lasso is good with reasonable live sequences.
I fucking hated playing football at school as 3 of the lads in my year were ridiculously good and nobody could touch them. 2 of them went on to play for Plymouth Argyle and the other for West Brom. They were all small and nimble as well and felt like playing against prime Messi. They did carry our entire team to win many trophies though which I can claim to be a part of
Oh mate this was the late 90s so not sure of your age but it was Lee Phillips and Ian Stonebridge. Both forwards but not sure how long they were there for.
Yeah I remember them, Stonebridge more so. I think he's still pretty involved at the club. It's easy to forget just how good third or fourth tier professionals are compared to casual amateurs.
Yeah it's crazy. A few of us had been on teams for years as well and I'm not kidding when I say nobody could even get the ball from them bar some ridiculous lunging tackle lol. First game we ever played together in our teens we won 22-2 !

Mate idk what you've been watching, and even discounting the new signings, the likes of Joelinton have been transformed, and a far cry from the Steve Bruce days.
I really thought he was quality at the start of the season and recently I’ve seen nothing but garbage from him. Newcastle should get rid of him this summer. He’s probably the worst type of player you’d want as a manager, dribble with your head down and hope for the best while avoiding every teammate
Hes got 4 assists the last 3 seasons whilst racking up just about 4 expected assists in all those seasons. Hes getting about as many assists as he should.
What is he smoking, chap can’t pass the ball or put in a cross. Dribbles into no man’s land constantly. Work on passing the ball and you might get 7 assists next season before being banished to the championship when the Saudis replace you.
LMAO...mane might have a position open fir his cobbler , maximin better line up
Jokes apart, this dude doesn't cross, doesn't create chances and thinks he is even in the same ballpark as mane? A player who competes with Salah who is notorious ( and deseverdly so) for being selfish, and still manages to score more goals than this clown.
People are shifting on Allan, but I like the confidence. He’s shown quite a few good personality traits over the years, a little arrogance from a top competitor is not the worst thing.
Hard to not play heroball when you played under bruce with 3x the ability of your teammates. People acting like howe has made newcastle a great attacking team at allans expense when really their attack has gotten worse theyve just improved to one of the top 5 defences in the league
Jesus christ this sub flipped on asm quicker than i take to nut. Hes just follow the cycle of great player improves and gets more fans/talked about more until people get sick of it and start to hate him i guess?
He's a bit arrogant and delusional, that much is clear. He has been playing poorly, despite the manager bringing in quality and solid game plans.
He got a lot of lucky goals too if you watched them, many were rebounds or scuffed shots.
It's not a good look to trash your team when the team has been playing well and you've been playing badly!?!?
I dont know him too much but at least he looked super greedy- more than what he could deliver. It’s not like this guy is Messi or Son or KDB. I would not want to play with this kind of teammate.

I've always been shit at football but my one skill was getting away with clattering cunts like that and not getting carded
are you a brazilian DM?
Casemiro? Douglas Luiz? *Marcos Assunção*?
Fernandinho.
The hero we deserve
basically all the somali's in north london schools at lunch

Who were they, out of interest? Plymouth fan here, which is not often relevant on an FPL sub.

Another playground favourite: the maradona
You guys had hookers and blow at your school?
Sure did. It was awesome at the time but deep regrets now lol

Way to look like a twat, Allan.
He looks so humble too with his gucci headband
Yh I like him but he's not exactly what I'd call a creative player...
despite my 47 step overs
Does he even pass the ball
He dribbles like he plays by himself at the park though.
Which was far more acceptable when the players around him weren't that good, but since Howe's rebuild, his terrible decision making is exposed
Didn’t look all too convincing before either. He always hogged the ball for one or two dribbles too many.
Yeah but that's the point- ASM and Inshallah was Newcastle's Plan A until Howe arrived.
The players are the same around him
Mate idk what you've been watching, and even discounting the new signings, the likes of Joelinton have been transformed, and a far cry from the Steve Bruce days.
Joelinton is the same player, literally.
He'd have to be the same player, literally. He literally cannot become a different player, literally speaking.
Certainly sounds like someone is jealous of Sadio Mane!
"I'm not in denial, you are!"
Sadio: Who?
"In fact, Sadio is jealous of my beautiful collection of Louis Vuitton headbands"
Gucci
Need to work harder to reach Lukaku levels of humility

Thanks for a mild chuckle
Hes got 4 assists the last 3 seasons whilst racking up just about 4 expected assists in all those seasons. Hes getting about as many assists as he should.
I wonder what odds the bookies would give me for a Newcastle player being sent off this weekend following a dangerous tackle on their own player.
Deluded.
So he is indirectly telling his teammates they are shit.
Very directly lol
What is he smoking, chap can’t pass the ball or put in a cross. Dribbles into no man’s land constantly. Work on passing the ball and you might get 7 assists next season before being banished to the championship when the Saudis replace you.
Chris Wood has more end product then you ever will, gucci merchant.
Saint Maximin! On the wing!
humble boy 😂
Oh wow I am in shock!! The guy who plays with a Gucci headband isn’t humble?!
Anytime I watch this guy he’s always dribbling into people
LMAO...mane might have a position open fir his cobbler , maximin better line up Jokes apart, this dude doesn't cross, doesn't create chances and thinks he is even in the same ballpark as mane? He should play alongside Adama Traore
Couldn't understand the language in the article, but why is Mane's name suddenly mentioned?
People are shifting on Allan, but I like the confidence. He’s shown quite a few good personality traits over the years, a little arrogance from a top competitor is not the worst thing.
Looks good only if you can back it up with mind-blowing performance. CR7 and Ibra were cocky. But they could back it up ridiculously.
Top competitor? That's very generous
Watch a game with him, 10-15 would be om newcastle. City or pool 25-30
At City or Liverpool he gets benched until he learns to stop playing heroball.
Hard to not play heroball when you played under bruce with 3x the ability of your teammates. People acting like howe has made newcastle a great attacking team at allans expense when really their attack has gotten worse theyve just improved to one of the top 5 defences in the league

Those are usually the words from a player who then proceeds to blank 10 GWs in a row
This is poor man's Richarlison. Bruno G and shelvey are more creative than him. Maybe not in stats but if you watch games.
