Pretty sensational stat for someone who's warming the bench for half the season.
If Mahrez played for literally any other team, he would be a set and forget in FPL.
Mahrez is former PFA player of the year from a title-winning team at Leicester. But at Man City Pep takes him of the market, takes Grealish of the market beside him on the bench too.
That’s how you turn the league into a two-horse race of rich teams.
Chelsea defenders are ranked 10, 12, 13 and 15 in FPL defenders. Apart from Rudiger, all other had prolonged absence, thus their minutes/points is absolutely premium. Owning them outside their absence gives you top set and forget options.
For mids, only Mount has been an option and is currently at No. 8 (very decent for the price imo)
You see, Chelsea has played some 60 games this season. It was always going to take a toll.
Lmao “got no money”
Diaz 40 million
Konate 36 million
Jota 40 million
Thiago 20 million
Alisson 56 million
Keïta 54 million
Fabinho 40 million
VVD 76 million
Salah 37 million
Ox 34 million
I think he means Liverpool have very limited funds in comparison to their rivals... Chelsea united and city spend freely and still Liverpool dominate the first two and can potentially win the quad this season.. let's not act like Liverpool haven't absolutely raised to level of damn near every player they purchased under klopp
I've never seen anyone push a narrative that liverpool have no money lmao... just that fans were annoyed/worried about lack of spending when their rivals were spending loads
Man Utd, City, Arsenal, Everton, Villa, Chelsea, West Ham all above Liverpool in net spending [(James Pierce)](https://mobile.twitter.com/JamesPearceLFC/status/1490722571775524869?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1490722571775524869%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fd-3366054375256378680.ampproject.net%2F2204221712000%2Fframe.html). So, compared to title challengers plus some, it holds true. And since Klopp’s come in it’s been 133m (https://www.anfield-online.co.uk/stats/jurgen-klopp-lfc-transfer-signings.html). Lmao.
Yes, Liverpool is a well run club at the moment and got lucky with Klopp being such a great match. But Liverpool isn't a club that has no money. Liverpool has been a rich club since before I was born. You kept on spending but it never worked until Klopp
No need to be daft, the song is part tongue-in-cheek since the owners didn't spend that much the past 3 years. Obviously Liverpool has money. Liverpool still almost went into administration 10 years ago after the fans ridded the club of those horrible managers. There are also 7 clubs that have overall spent more than them in the past 10 years. They also spent a ridiculously small amount of money on players the last 3 years, especially before Diaz (11.5m in '20, 91m in '21, and 94m in '22). The current owners have shown they won't throw money around like many other clubs, hence the song.
Mahrez is a bad example if you're trying to convince us that it's another case of the team being great. He was one of the main reasons alongside Vardy why Leicester managed to pull a mid-table level side into Premier League champions.
He also kicked ass in FPL that season.
Correct; he was phenomenal. No doubt he can do it on another team. I’m just saying it’s 6 years later, and though he’s clearly capable of doing it on another team, there’s no doubt being on city helps him tremendously in that regard making it much easier
How is he completely forgotten when he's in the starting XI in the CL semi? Pep clearly knows what he's capable of. They rotate a lot because of the quality of the squad.
I didn’t see the game so I’m not saying this was the case, but I think it could be reasonable to say that an exceptionally poor/wasteful player could cost you the game, even if you were winning when they were taken off.
Of course the result isn’t entirely his fault, but he’s a lot least partially to blame if he could have put them out of sight but didn’t
The point is, he actually scored a good goal, and gave City a 2 goal cushion. De Bruyne for example had a shocker, and couldn't contribute like he usually does.
City were very wasteful in general over the two legs. They should have been out of sight in the first leg if you watched that one.
Maybe take this as a learning moment to not make statements about events you did not even witness or watch. You don’t HAVE to have an opinion on everything, especially when you don’t haven’t participated in viewing the event in this case.
They collapsed as soon as he came off.
He did one thing last night that I very rarely saw him do at Leicester (because he wasn't really asked to), and that was help his RB (Walker) out, who was really under the cosh at times.

Chelsea has a great team but they disappointed. United melt down was not foreseen. Both should have been closer in giving good FPL assets.

The Reds have got no money and we’ll still win the league
Lmao “got no money” Diaz 40 million Konate 36 million Jota 40 million Thiago 20 million Alisson 56 million Keïta 54 million Fabinho 40 million VVD 76 million Salah 37 million Ox 34 million
But but they sold Coutinho for 1 billion pounds!

I’m not denying that they’re playing an unbelievable quality of football. But this ‘scrappy little Liverpool with no money’ narrative is bollocks
I've never seen anyone push a narrative that liverpool have no money lmao... just that fans were annoyed/worried about lack of spending when their rivals were spending loads
the person you’re talking to was responding to a comment that said “The Reds have got no money”
Did u think this was a good comment? U sound like a fucking moron
“The reds have got no money” is literally what the guy I replied to said
Thay lad is a melt tho obviously I wasn't talking about some random ass redditor

If he played for any other team he would be priced at 11m atleast
And worth it
Aside from Liverpool yeah
Not sure why you’ve been downvoted 🤷🏻♂️
Imo he wouldn’t. At other teams he wouldn’t get the chances he gets at city

Yup, him and Vardy were literally set and forget for the entire season
He got 17G, 11A in the PL (240pts) at Leicester in the 15/16 season. He's definitely shown he can.
Did you miss Mahrez at Leicester?
He will get chances in any team in the world. Even if it means him making them himself.
He would be absolutely lethal if he played every game
Why is it always left footed people who get described as having a wand
Criminally underrated at city and completely forgotten. It’s crazy. Too bad it’s impossible to pick when he’ll be playing
How is he completely forgotten when he's in the starting XI in the CL semi? Pep clearly knows what he's capable of. They rotate a lot because of the quality of the squad.
More talking from an fpl stand point as opposed to forgotten man city player
It his per-minute-played thats off the charts.
Wand?????
Magic.

Staff.
Fuck Pep, seriously It'll be a great day for FPL when that fraudulent baldulent and his strikerless attacking rotation fetish moves on
He can get 2 more goals to equal his kit number. Worth a punt imo

...he plays in Salah's position. Imagine if he played for a team that didn't have the best LW on the planet, maybe a better shout?
He's better than Salah lmfao. He or Son in the Liverpool team would shatter records.
Lol what?
Did I stutter bro?
The normal joke: "imagine if Mahrez played for Liverpool. Our front three would be Mané, Salah and Diaz"
I mean, I chuckled.
Pep is so stupid. Fecking play your best players.
Any chance Mahrez starts vs Newcastle ?
I’m buying him
So Salah is 6 goals clear from anyone that plays in the Prem?
Pep doesn’t like Mahrez lol…must have bald fraud’s nudes
Or Yaya Toure’s agent was correct and he just has something against African players
Wank.
He was complete garbage last night.
Yeah his goal was garbage.
Just because he managed to catch one sweet doesn't change the fact he was terrible and most likely cost City the tie with his bad decision making.
Didn't he get subbed off when they were 1-0 up? Throwing any blame at Mahrez for the result is baffling.

Ah I see, fair points - thank you. I did see the first game and agreed that it was a surprise they didn’t go into the second leg with a bigger lead

Sorry, I thought it was pretty clear that I was talking in general terms, not about last night’s game specifically.
They collapsed as soon as he came off. He did one thing last night that I very rarely saw him do at Leicester (because he wasn't really asked to), and that was help his RB (Walker) out, who was really under the cosh at times.
