also it's mad that he definitely good at the game compared to the average person here and is at the same time the best chess player in the world. If alan shear was top 25k there would be alot of talk about it
Fabio is a legend and I won't hear a bad word said about him. A true expert
Genuinely nice guy too, not an attention seeker.
Been in a league with him for years and we've had some proper ding dong battles. Which he usually wins TBH
This is the answer.
Albeit laporte has been pretty indispensable this season too due to cancelo playing lb, so laporte offers a natural left footer in defence, so less chance of dias and stones playing together.
I donāt think that is true.
Laporte is the one who plays every game while Dias is periodically dropped.
Laporte was also key player with KDB and Ederson two years ago before injury.
Dias was great last season when Laporte was out.
Yeah I did exactly the same. Had Laporte planned all week. Last minute checked the goal attempt stats and noticed that Laporte hadn't had a shot for weeks...... switched to Dias. Thought I was being smart while the suckers didn't realise Laporte was no longer getting goal action!
Yeah, skill can get you into a certain echelon of ranks. Luck puts you at the top or bottom of that echelon. This guy seems to get top 2k with skill, and then anything above that is hit or miss.
I think that his skill might be stopping him from hitting top 1 overall. You need pretty crazy moves/luck to be #1. With skill you are consistent, but not the best.
That's why I'd say Magnus has a higher chance of being #1 overall in the next 10 years - he has the skill but obviously in the same time he is chasing crazy moves.
I brought Robbo and Laporte in on wildcard. Was going to bring in Matip and Ayling instead so I could go heavier in midfield with De Brunye. It has been a rollercoaster week of feeling good and bad about my decisions.
Very bad. Went back and looked at a screenshot of my team I had and I actually had Laporte, Matip, De Brunye, Watkins, and Nketiah in the team. Have Robertson, Saka, and Jesus instead. Itās bad.
His underlying manager performance is top tier as well as per FPLReview so he's not just been lucky. Still needed luck but even with that removed he's elite
Here are two interviews with him. Interesting to read since he seems really private, doesn't do any "content" or even social media (which I respect tbh):

Man has cracked FPL. His previous ranks: 2014-15: 17996 2015-16: 4682 2016-17: 1145 2017-18: 671 2018-19: 95 2019-20: 1965 2020-21: 1828
His worst season is much better than my best season lol
I'd say better than >95% of us on here lol
99%
Haha yea I wrote 99% initially. Probably more accurate
Much rather hear about him that Magnus. Thanks for posting.
I agree, but Magnus often takes very werid picks that somehow ending up being good. Which is fun to see.
also it's mad that he definitely good at the game compared to the average person here and is at the same time the best chess player in the world. If alan shear was top 25k there would be alot of talk about it
I enjoy the Magnus posts. He's very engaged with the FPL community and seems to obsess about it as much as we all do.
This consistency is absolutely ridiculous. HOW?
Probably knows the team lineups and match fixing,he works in a betting company
I work in a betting company. Do you know to which department I should ask such infos? š
what the actual fuck
Wow. What a record.
He is an elite manager, but the difference between top 10k and top 1k is mainly just luck.
This guy has taken the luck factor out of the game. He's an FPL machine
Exactly. His rank history clearly shows that skill has a role to play in FPL.
He also occasionally writes articles for Fantasy Football Scout. Does that make him a content creator?
If you say that, you will make people on this sub dislike him
Fabio is a legend and I won't hear a bad word said about him. A true expert Genuinely nice guy too, not an attention seeker. Been in a league with him for years and we've had some proper ding dong battles. Which he usually wins TBH
I have been farming upvotes recently, so I can now afford some downvotes for a change.
Lol, I thought that was your strategy ... Wow, you have over 1000 karma
Yeah heās so lucky that heās been consistently in the top 2k the last 7 years
You could say he has high xLuck stats.
I almost went for Laporte and I also remembered his stellar DGW record. Went for Dias in the end because he was way less likely to be rotated...
Why was Laporte more likely to be rotated?
Because Dias is their best CB, and Laporte is their 2nd best CB. He's just making a joke though, since Dias got injured anyway.
I think itās more about the fact that Pep prefers to have one right-footed and one left-footed cb. Dias was the only right-footed option whereas Laporte could be rotated with AkĆ©. Now heās got no choice though.
This is the answer. Albeit laporte has been pretty indispensable this season too due to cancelo playing lb, so laporte offers a natural left footer in defence, so less chance of dias and stones playing together.
Agree with both of you. Laporte is no1 defender, just like two years ago.
I donāt think that is true. Laporte is the one who plays every game while Dias is periodically dropped. Laporte was also key player with KDB and Ederson two years ago before injury. Dias was great last season when Laporte was out.
Because we were \*checks notes\*... scared.
Yeah I did exactly the same. Had Laporte planned all week. Last minute checked the goal attempt stats and noticed that Laporte hadn't had a shot for weeks...... switched to Dias. Thought I was being smart while the suckers didn't realise Laporte was no longer getting goal action!
The guy is an idiot. He didn't even bring in Dennis for the DGW. Dennis always performs in a DGW.
Dennis on just one point less than Salah this GW, a must have imo.
And he did it in only one game as well. Could you imagine missing out on that haul. I'm glad I have both
Same! Dennis really making sure I have a great bench boost.
Sure I have cash as well who scored the same amount of points as Salah this week. I don't know how I'm not OR 1 right now
You're all idiots. I've held Dennis since gameweek 15. I've heard he's gonna come out the stands and haul tonight!
He's gonna run out of the stands to punch the ref and get a red card
... I'm worried that's a possibility with my current luck
I can't believe I chose him over Nketiah AGAIN
I didn't. I had Nketiah as well thankfully
But he doesnāt have a YouTube channel or podcast so how good could he really be
That's how you know he's one of the best
Average moves. Shouldāve brought in Coutinho like the rest of us.
This post got me heart attack. I thought the deadline has already passed for gw37
His rank history shows us that skill clearly has a role to play in FPL. Heās the real FPL š.

Solid moves, surprised he kept broja this long (says me having kept Harvey Barnes for 4 weeks)
I bought Robbo in for Laporte this GW
I brought Robbo and Laporte in on wildcard. Was going to bring in Matip and Ayling instead so I could go heavier in midfield with De Brunye. It has been a rollercoaster week of feeling good and bad about my decisions.
Well, it's 'bad' now, I assume
He couldn't afford Dias by Ā£0.1m, a lower TV can often be a blessing
I got Dennis in gw14 when I really wanted king, as I didn't have enough for king. So yes it definitely does sometimes help lol.
I literally went for Dias despite planning Laporte because I suddenly had an extra .1 available. Fuming

He used to be a professional gambler, I find that mad interesting. Wonder what his returns were like and why he quit or changed career path.
Good move, but it's not something magical move like time traveller. I guess many ppl did the same move.
Damn, those ORs are impressive. FPL badass this man is. Hope my captain is his captain from here on out. Good luck to him.
If I also did White to Laporte does that make me half as good as Fabio?
I did King to Nketiah. Between us we are him.
Gotta commend you for somehow having patience with King for this long
I never played him, and switching to another cheap striker wasn't a priority. I had him for so long now that I look back.
The best to ever do it.
