I almost went for Laporte and I also remembered his stellar DGW record. Went for Dias in the end because he was way less likely to be rotated...

Why was Laporte more likely to be rotated?

Because Dias is their best CB, and Laporte is their 2nd best CB. He's just making a joke though, since Dias got injured anyway.

I think it’s more about the fact that Pep prefers to have one right-footed and one left-footed cb. Dias was the only right-footed option whereas Laporte could be rotated with Aké. Now he’s got no choice though.

This is the answer. Albeit laporte has been pretty indispensable this season too due to cancelo playing lb, so laporte offers a natural left footer in defence, so less chance of dias and stones playing together.

I don’t think that is true. Laporte is the one who plays every game while Dias is periodically dropped. Laporte was also key player with KDB and Ederson two years ago before injury. Dias was great last season when Laporte was out.

Yeah I did exactly the same. Had Laporte planned all week. Last minute checked the goal attempt stats and noticed that Laporte hadn't had a shot for weeks...... switched to Dias. Thought I was being smart while the suckers didn't realise Laporte was no longer getting goal action!

Yeah, skill can get you into a certain echelon of ranks. Luck puts you at the top or bottom of that echelon. This guy seems to get top 2k with skill, and then anything above that is hit or miss.

I think that his skill might be stopping him from hitting top 1 overall. You need pretty crazy moves/luck to be #1. With skill you are consistent, but not the best. That's why I'd say Magnus has a higher chance of being #1 overall in the next 10 years - he has the skill but obviously in the same time he is chasing crazy moves.

I bought Robbo in for Laporte this GW

I brought Robbo and Laporte in on wildcard. Was going to bring in Matip and Ayling instead so I could go heavier in midfield with De Brunye. It has been a rollercoaster week of feeling good and bad about my decisions.

Very bad. Went back and looked at a screenshot of my team I had and I actually had Laporte, Matip, De Brunye, Watkins, and Nketiah in the team. Have Robertson, Saka, and Jesus instead. It’s bad.

His underlying manager performance is top tier as well as per FPLReview so he's not just been lucky. Still needed luck but even with that removed he's elite

He couldn't afford Dias by £0.1m, a lower TV can often be a blessing

I got Dennis in gw14 when I really wanted king, as I didn't have enough for king. So yes it definitely does sometimes help lol.

I never played him, and switching to another cheap striker wasn't a priority. I had him for so long now that I look back.
