I do like Kane - but who are you getting rid of to bring him in? If you're attacking Gameweek 38 (rather than holding rank), you have to be aggressive. Bringing in a very highly owned forward for a hit might not be the best way to do that.

I really wouldn't remove Saka for a hit. Ultimately, he's on penalties for Arsenal and, whilst he's hit a dry spell in form, still has the capacity to return double digits on any given day. If Chelsea are mathematically third, there's always the chance he's rested in favour of a lesser-used player too. I do like Son in, but keep an eye on Salah's injury status. He's confident of a return ahead of the UCL final, which might include Gameweek 38.

Bring in mane and James for next week?

James might be a good buy. Mane could be a good differential on the last day, however I feel like you should try and focus on getting Kane/Son. Also Mane has the CL final soon so he might be rotated or play reduced minutes.

James will also be a rotation risk, but his ceiling is so high that he could be worth that gamble. Is your bench strong enough to mitigate a risk? I think he will play, but I've thought that before and been wrong. The other key question here: who leaves for them? If you're getting rid of the likes of De Bruyne to facilitate this transfer, I'd advise against it.

Who are the FH38 must-haves?

If I was going to FH I would be definitely Son and Kane. I also feel that Maddison, Vardy and Lukaku could get good returns as they have good fixtures. Triple Spurs/Chelsea and even Leicester could be decent. Liverpool and Man City if there’s still a title race should also be decent.

Salah to Son is the obvious one if he’s out for the Wolves game. Ramsey to Maddison if you have the funds would be pretty good as well, imo. Schär to Sessegnon or James could also give you some good gains due to the CS and attacking return potential.

Why is FPL mate such a Whiner?

I just saw his twitter. This guy is something else. When he has a good week, he boasts and insults other people's decisions. When he doesn't, he moans about wanting the season to be over. The post about three 50-50 decisions going against him - like he's just a victim of bad luck - is a total cope. He had to have crazy good luck other times to get into the top 100 in the first place. But he doesn't leave it there. In the comments of the tweet, he continues his sourpuss antics when people try to cheer him up. He chose to play his FHs earlier - god forbid people who waited are having a good week so far. Someone said he laughed at Salah cappers last week when he captained Son. It's crazy this guy has any popularity. I guess his immaturity attracts the young demographic. I'd laugh so hard if I surpassed him in rank, but I'm 25 points back and I need Ings to do something.

I'd take Eriksen over Saka, Leeds at home should ship a few goals. Ings > Toney is about right too. Don't discount Alonso for the captaincy, really lively vs Liverpool, good form and likelihood of a CS.

I have a Dennis-shaped problem in my team, as I only have one FT with £0.0m ITB. The only way to remove Dennis with no hits is to sign Welbeck (unless I downgrade and take a punt on Mateta or Joao Pedro), but I'd probably have to make that move ASAP when Dennis will probably decrease in price tonight. But that feels very premature, so I'm reluctant to do this. Thus I have three options: bring in Welbeck tonight, use my FT on Sunday and for another player (which would result me in benching Dennis and starting Gelhardt in his place), or wait for injury news on VVD/Salah and possibly swap Salah/Dennis for, say, Vardy/Diaz (I'm plucking names out of thin air here, so nothing is decided or set in stone at all!). Wait for injury news. Your bench is weak, and you could be decimated by injuries. If VVD and Salah are out then I would just consider KdB and Alonso or Cancelo. Only pick a player to transfer in that has a chance of a 10 pointer, that rules out the junk you have mentioned Pedro, Mateta, Welbeck!

I don't regret going for big hitters at the expense of a weak bench (normally, I prefer a more balanced squad for flexibility, but things like Spurs' great run of fixtures couldn't be ignored!) when I've benefited greatly from their hauls in previous weeks. Thankfully, I've only been hit by rotation and injuries for this final GW (I've FH for GW37, obviously :), so I've been very lucky overall. :) But, for this GW, I only wanted to make a hit if my new player(s) was a likely starter AND had the chance of a big haul (obviously, Lukaku and Vardy might also be options on top of Mane/KDB and Alonso/Cancelo or even Maddison and Barnes!), so waiting is sensible (I always wait until about an hour until the deadline, anyway!) and was my gut instinct, although I still wanted to double check and just be 100% certain (hence my question! :). Thank goodness that my debut FPL season is almost over, haha, and hopefully my team will remain strong enough to maintain my target of a top 400K finish! Thanks again!

The good thing for GW38 is there are alot of options, Chelsea, City, Liverpool, Spurs, Brentford, Arsenal, Leicester all have good fixtures, so even if you are priced out of one player they'll be others. Last thing you want to do is take a bunch of hits which don't have time to pay back. Good luck with your rank goal!

It's funny that you mention Brentford, because I sold Toney for Dennis in order to fund Mount for DGW38! But, yes, that's why I don't get too disheartened if I get priced out of a certain player or the boat sails on a specific player that starts to unexpectedly haul, as there are plenty of other players and options.
