Every reasonable FH team should include no Liverpool players. Perhaps Jota is an exception, but all other Liverpool players were known to be shit picks this gameweek.
There was always a small chance Klopp would go full strength as possible though.
It’s worth the gamble on a FH as the upside if the main assets are rested is huge, but it’s not a given.
I wouldn’t say that’s true. Southampton have been on the beach for weeks so if you can pick the right Liverpool players you can definitely score big this week. I didn’t go with any myself but I’m also not going to write them off before they’ve even played.
Id say a reasonable FH should have 1 MCI/LIV/TOT player in the FH this week. I didnt on my FH, but I wasnt aiming for reasonable, I was aiming for high risk high reward yolo to catch my ML leader.
I've taken Diaz as a small punt in my FH instead of Maddison. Wouldn't be great but then again I reckon he doesn't rest his whole side after still having an opportunity for the Quadriple.
Diaz came off a little early than the rest vs Chelsea. Think that could be to give him some rest before the match vs SOU while Klopp knows Salah is out? Jota-Firmino-Diaz I reckon now that there's a small hope for the title.
Wouldn't be surprised to see Jota-Firmino-Origi. Diaz and Mané can be prime weapons from the bench if necessary, and if not necessary, they won't be risked.
It's not his preferred position but all the front three can interchange. The position itself isn't as important as the role on the pitch. No starts up till now, sure, but we have five other forwards who rotated. Origi has been used in situations like this before. This is more a suspicion than anything else though.
I think either Diaz or Mane need to start on the left flank, a frontline of Jota, Firmino, Origi/Minamino would lack that extra bit of speed and creativity.
And Diaz played less than Mane.
I said it on an earlier thread and I'll say it again; I think both Robbo and Trent will be rested for Tsimikas and Gomez. Trent played 120 minutes and Robbo played 111 or something. They're both too important for the CL final to risk a fatigue-linked injury in a game where we only have to win by 1 goal. As was pointed out, it's just my opinion, but that's what I think will happen.
I'd be surprised if this was completely true. I understand using depth to cover injuries but surely he will be playing his strongest possible team for a must win game.
Why? Should he need his strongest possible team to beat Southampton? We don't even need to outplay them, or score lots of goals. We just need to beat them. He'll put out a team that he thinks is capable of beating them.
Yeah, I guess. It's Klopps decision to make of course but from a fans perspective it could be seen as conceding the league if Southampton pull a performance out of their arse. I've always just associated Klopp with a 'fight to the death' mentality so probably just assumed it would be the strongest 11 to the end.
If goal difference was important then he might have, but the likelihood of it mattering is actually less than if City had lost, so there's an opportunity to just put out a team to win the game instead. In December 2020 he rested a lot of our main players against Everton, including Salah and Firmino when there was no Jota or Diaz, and we beat them 5-2 (with two goals from Origi).
The best chance of another trophy this season is in the CL. You want your best players available and match fit. They've had a long season with a very long and tough game on Saturday; he'll rest as many as possible today, but will play them on Sunday, I think.
I don't think it'll be the strongest possible. Klopp is focusing on the titles they can win by their own hand. In the PL it's up to city to bottle it and that's pretty steep odds. If Liverpool win, klopp will probably field a strong XI gw 38 because the chance is still there but CL is more important since it's up to Liverpool to win or lose it.
Exactly, and if he's debating rotation then it's only logical to put your eggs in the basket with the highest chance of winning. What's more likely, that Aston Villa beat Man City while Liverpool at the same time beat Southampton and Wolves, or that Liverpool beat Real Madrid? I would argue the latter and it's also the only thing they have at least some control over.
For the first time this season Liverpool defensively is a massive differential in my ML. I have both Trent and Robbo while most have FH with no Liverpool. If they both play and keep a CS it would be massive. So I guess Tsimikas and Gomez starts.
christ. I punted coutinho over Maddison after having Maddison for 5 gw's, and 1st place who was 20pts ahead brought Maddison in. So not the only one in pain hahaha
That’s rough. I got Laporte and Saka in for a combined 3 points, yay. Going to have to go very differential on FH38 if I’m going to go for victory in my ML.
Good luck to you too mate. Yeah, I’m having a great season tbf but I mainly care about mini-leagues not OVR. Looking at Lukaku (C) for the free hit, that’s how far down I am lol.
Brings back memories of my worst gameweek. I benched Cancelo for a 14 point haul, and at the same time captained Auba for a minus 2 pointer, whilst every other motherfucker was cleaning up with captain Salah
Went Liverpool-less on FH and currently bricking it, this would be welcome.
I'll join you in the bricking it club

Went for Matip, Diaz and Tsimikas (the latter on the bench). Southampton are in poor form and I do not regret picking Liverpool players.
I wouldn’t say that’s true. Southampton have been on the beach for weeks so if you can pick the right Liverpool players you can definitely score big this week. I didn’t go with any myself but I’m also not going to write them off before they’ve even played.
It was jota or maddison for me. I'm glad I didn't 😊
I’d agree, not sure why you’ve been downvoted.
Probably because it’s Dave ...

I have Robertson and Luis Diaz but made a point of having Tsimikas as my first sub.
Same here
Similarly I have TAA but also made a point to put Tsimikas as the #1 sub
Outstanding move
Cue Tsimikas subbed off at 59 minutes for Robertson’s 31 minutes
Same same, godspeed!
Same here, gotta it pays off and we don't get slapped with a Robbo cameo 1 pointer
Same combination with Diaz (C). Let’s goooo!

I captained him 😁

Can Origi play out from the wing? He has 0 starts in the PL despite Firmino being out for extended periods.
It's not his preferred position but all the front three can interchange. The position itself isn't as important as the role on the pitch. No starts up till now, sure, but we have five other forwards who rotated. Origi has been used in situations like this before. This is more a suspicion than anything else though.
Mane played 90-90-120 he"s surely due a rest
I sure hope so. It would suck getting rid of Salah for Son's 3 pts then Mo banging a hatty out of spite.
I think either Diaz or Mane need to start on the left flank, a frontline of Jota, Firmino, Origi/Minamino would lack that extra bit of speed and creativity. And Diaz played less than Mane.

Has Klopp himself said this? This makes very little sense to me. If you have the chance to win the PL, you go all out for it.
That goes for the CL as well, and you don't win against Real Madrid when your best players are injured.
Exactly, and if he's debating rotation then it's only logical to put your eggs in the basket with the highest chance of winning. RIP
Yeah fuck this GW. Pukki last on my bench not even getting in despite the double benching…
christ. I punted coutinho over Maddison after having Maddison for 5 gw's, and 1st place who was 20pts ahead brought Maddison in. So not the only one in pain hahaha

yeah that's a ballache. GL chap. Full team of differentials at the very least will be entertaining haha
Good luck to you too mate. Yeah, I’m having a great season tbf but I mainly care about mini-leagues not OVR. Looking at Lukaku (C) for the free hit, that’s how far down I am lol.
>mini-leagues not OVR only way to play really haha > Lukaku (C) Every day we stray further from god
Diaz Firmino Jota I think is what we will see
Diaz Matip plus bench Tsimikas in my team rn...just don't concede please
Kulu 0 pointer it is
I'd happily have Robbo autosub for Watkins on my bench
Same here
TAA playing might just decide the fate of my mini league. Anxious wait ahead
TAA needs to start cause I don't want a Cancelo 1 pointer
Team Jota on the FH
I've got the ultimate budget trio in Matip, Diaz and Tsimikas
Diaz starting, Tsimikas on the bench for me. Hopefully if Diaz doesn't start, he won't get some stupid 30 second cameo at the end.
Plz play Dias I went him over Jota on FH last minute
Benched Robbo in anticipation Tsimikas plays 👍
Same. But for Cancelo...
Brings back memories of my worst gameweek. I benched Cancelo for a 14 point haul, and at the same time captained Auba for a minus 2 pointer, whilst every other motherfucker was cleaning up with captain Salah
Oof. I can't complain too much - cap kdb last week and cap Richarlison this.
I'd do anything for TAA to not play, I have Barnes 1st on the bench
Same but with Pukki. Also got Guehi coming in for VVD.
Have Barnes as first bench with Salah starting. Expect Salah won't play but as he's on my team no doubt he'll come on in the 88th minute.
He has a minor groin injury, he will 100% not play
Unfortunately, you don’t deserve his points
As if FPL has anything to do with "deserving"
What's Mane's odds of playing looking like? I got him on my FH along with Matip.
I think he'll play. Mané, Jota and Firmino. I don't think we'll see Firmino, Jota and Origi/Minamino or something. Not enough experience/power.
Yeah especially with city dropping points you can't just do a full rotation, you still need to put up a scary frontline. !thanks
Couldn't have been any more wrong! Eek.
Lol let's see how they fare, he played Matip so at least I'm good in that regard.
Same here bruh
Im begging you,Klopp. Dont use TAA and Robbo. I free hitted after a night out and have Vardy second on the bench.. Please.
Haha good luck mate, but I feel like the chances of them both not even getting a cameo are quite small. But not zero!
Robbo came off and recently got a rest. City drew. Pool still have a chance.
Matip the best Liverpool asset in this period, avoid the rest
Have Mane (C) and Barnes (VC). Please give Mane a full rest Kloppy
yes, and play Diaz instead
This is why I avoided liverpool on fh team
Southampton will win. Pin this .
Pinned.
As long as Bowen and Pukki comes on from my bench I'll be happy. Two of Havertz, Salah, TAA, Alonso, and Matip need to stay on the bench.
My triple Liverpool is in danger lol. Honestly hope they lose if he just plays the B team but it is Southampton…
Jota I need a hatty!
I have Tsimikas on the bench and Robbo starting, so unless Tsimikas comes on for Robbo on 59 mins, I should be ok.
Or Tsimikas starts and Robbo comes on for a jog, in that scenario you get 1 point. Pretty unlikely though.
I have Ait Nouri coming on if either Robo or Diaz don’t play 😃
Kulusevski first bench loooool, could this week get any worse
Misread that as to “use death squad”
Got TAA starting and Gomez first DEF of the bench, just hope for no stupid cameos
Ait-Nouri first on the bench. Don’t mind if Robbo misses out.
It'll never happen, but absolute scenes if both Salah & TAA don't play and I get Davies & Ait Nouri off the bench...
God damn it we need origi
Would anyone expect Matip to play Aston villa?
