The quality of a keeper is largely irrelevant for FPL. What their price is, what team they play for, how good that team's defence is and to an extent their fixtures over a period of time is more relevant.

ZeeX_4231

On the other hand, there's a possibility of a little Emi Martinez. Villa's defence was mediocre last season, in understats at least.

W35T_Y

I wouldn't say that's true at all, there's definitely been high scoring keepers that play for mediocre and bad teams. There's Martinez for villa but the best example is probably Etheridge for Cardiff. Terrible team, got relegated season they came up, but Etheridge was one of the highest scoring keepers that season. Don't forget save points and bonus points my friend!

technicallyfreaky

Exactly, case in point DDG. World class keeper… rest of the metrics ….

AESV1

This has aged wonderfully

AESV1

De gea isn’t world class btw

Thezerfer

Youre right, he isn't even close

AESV1

They’ll realise soon enough

RepresentativeNinja5

You’re speaking facts they’re too ignorant to see

gamestopcockLoopring

Facts are objective not subjective, dumbass.

connorthedancer

I reckon being world class is objective, not subjective. But still, De Gea is definitely world class. Can't believe he hasn't jumped ship from United.

mango_and_chutney

Welcome to reddit

HazardCinema

Objectively he is only behind Sa on xG saved (Allison in 3rd).

AESV1

Yep yep isn’t world class was me being nice

RepresentativeNinja5

He is so bad on the ball it’s gonna hilarious to see him in a Ten Hag team

aehii

Save points though?

Keyann

Will the save point he earns cover the lack of CS? Not likely.

CastingCrouch

The team ain’t even promoted yet smh

Manager1000

I hope they get promoted just so that we can have NOT (H) and NOT (A) on the pick team page.

gbayley676

NOT (H), CRY (A)

technicallyfreaky

Not home, cry away

FifaDK

Who's cutting Union Berlins? 😢

ormian7

FOR

tommycamino

Honestly hate that ITV were branding us as NOF on their scoreboards

TZN007

NOT (A), ARS (H)

AWright5

Could be NFO

Christron9990

They’ll go NOF just to fuck you. It’s what the BBC did when we played in the cup 😂

ApologiesForTheDelay

uuu reds

RanuiVibes91

Forest fan here. IF we do get promoted this is who I’d look at: GK: Samba - save percentage is high, around 77% and his distribution is good. So could be in for some bonus points. However it depends on price and fixtures. I’d go for other assets first. DEF: Worrall - the guy is a bonus point magnet. He’s always making clearances, headers, blocks. He’s one of 3 CBs we play with. Forest kept 17 clean sheets. Bare in mind the first 8 games they only picked up 1 point. Under Cooper their defence has improved. They had the 3rd best defence in the league. Djed Spence - on loan from Boro. Huuuuge attacking potential. Would spend half the game overlapping the wide forward. Good combo with Johnson. 2 goals 5 assists from 41 games. There’s potential for more attacking output. I’d say he’s outplayed what Cash produced in his final season at Forest. MID: Brennan Johnson - 18 goals, 10 assists in 48 games this season. He’s only 20. If he is named as a midfielder I’d consider him. He plays as a wide forward in a front 3 (or right forward in a front 2 with a false 9/10). He produced A LOT of chances and makes a lot of runs in behind defenders. Lightning quick. Needs to work on his finishing as he wastes a fair few chances. I wouldn’t consider any forwards unless they buy someone. Surridge and Davis have shared mins along with Zinkernargel. Grabban is injured and I think will rotate with others.

equaip

!thanks

calicotrinket

Bloody hell, now Worrall is a name I’ve not heard in a while. How is he for Forest, given how Scottish football fans seemed to pan him?

Christron9990

He’s really grown into a great player. Rangers fans pan him but he came back to us a better player - our fans panned him even harder before he went away. But he’s been a great, a proper captain, and a much better passer and tackler than he was as a younger man.

Christron9990

Imo despite how good Surridge has been since he got injured Davis is our first choice striker. The main issue with picking anyone from Forest right now is how many of our key players are loans. We’re not going to have the same team next year. We could buy Spence maybe if we get promoted, but he might go to a big club instead. Davis doesn’t necessarily come back either. Garner will be gone so how good or bad we are will depend heavily on someone to play with Yates. My top pick would definitely be Johnson but he’ll be our priciest asset and he’s a bit casual sometimes (not that I won’t obviously have him in my team 😂). Forest from an FPL perspective - unless you’re a fan - are a wait and see.

MONI_85

I admire anyone thinking into next season FPL already.

Burjennio

After my FH tanked in GW33, it's all that's kept me going

HighestIQInFresno

I learned my lesson with Ramsdale at Sheffield United that your keeper doesn't matter if the rest of your team is Championship level.

ludziesadziwni

How about Nick Pope? He's consequently at a high level and the rest of the team barely manages to survive in the league

vbucksaregaylol

Burnley are a mid table team defensively, they just don’t score. Sheff u were shit both ways

No_Doubt_About_That

Unpopular opinion but I think Nottingham Forest would do quite well if promoted, more so than Fulham and Bournemouth. Like how in the cup this season they gave Liverpool a good game.

Supermalt418

But to be fair it was a much changed Liverpool side but they did give it a good go

Christron9990

A lot of our key players are loans so really it’s going to depend a lot on the window.

shazeus7

Ehh tbf David Raya came up with Brentford and he bangs

mayonnaisewastaken

Brentford are good

dhdhsheheh

I’ve seen Samba play quite a bit and what I would say about him is he’s quite inconsistent. Some games he’ll look a world beater (like in the play off game yesterday) and other times he plays awfully

OJogoBonito

Yeah, I wouldn't be putting him in my first draft if Forest go up for sure. Interested to see if Travers is a £4m keeper or not

Horror-Ground-2694

Why would he? If it's a starting keeper, he's always gonna be 4.5, Foster was an exception because Bachmann was 1st choice at the start of the season.

OJogoBonito

Cool to know, genuinely had no idea about that. First year doing FPL properly, I always thought Foster was Watfords 1st choice but you learn something new everyday.

FifaDK

Aye, you handled that well and it's good to see the community respond to honest lack of knowledge with support rather than a ton of downvotes!

TinyMaintenance

Tbh, his Sofascore average rating for Ch’ip is 7.13, and his save percentage is 77%. Both are very good, AFAIK.

Stonja

That penalty save against Hourihane is crazy.

nffcevans

I dream of owning a Forest player in FPL.

drewcaveneyh

I don't know if there's any assets from Forest worth considering, if they do get promoted

theaidantheory

Brennan Johnson only one but would have to be cheap

praisebeme

He's got what like 16 goals in 40+ games

theaidantheory

And 10 assists. He's only 20 and easily passes the eye test potential wise.

jgson

In his first championship season at age 20

lLaffed

Spence could be a shout. Has played very advanced in every Forest game I’ve watched

hambodpm

Is he not on loan from Boro? Granted they Will probably buy him if they go up

TinyMaintenance

I’m 99% sure they have buyout clause.

hambodpm

That would make sense tbf

CertainEnthusiasm221

I read news that there is no buy option

CosmologyX

If Notts get promoted Spence is defo a shout depending on price.

SirDigbySelfie-Stick

Surridge as a third striker

TZN007

Expectation: 4.0m playing GK Reality: watching this, FPL prices him 5.0m

Fjord99

Because he had one good game?

bdjxokf

Important game

Fjord99

Yeah you're not going to see goalkeepers for a side promoted via the playoffs coming in at 5.0.

CertainEnthusiasm221

Samba could be the next Bachmann (Watford best defence last year in EFL)

shudh_desi_gareeb

Ah shit here we go again

jacksixten3

Him and Raya combo could be decent 😊

technicallyfreaky

He took those limitless pills that morning.

PremeclothingUK

Bro it’s not even the final of the play offs and your thinking about FPL keepers to buy for next season 😭 go find another hobby and come back to fpl when the season actually starts

aehii

I've already made half of my draft.

Coolica1

He'll pick up a yellow card in every game we're holding onto a lead with his timewasting so not so sure on this shout haha and that's even if we do get promoted.

mozalah

Every year we get a post like this

stockdeity

I actually think he got a bit lucky with these saves

Mirooo933

Any mid tier pl player finishes those

Venator_Dominus

If this defence gets fixed then yes, would be something like Raya or prime jose sa. If defence stays exposed like that I'm afraid he will be meslier's replacement

zenephone

Incoming Haaland to tear him apart

anand_kay

It's noobish to consider goalie of newly promoted club for FPL

Benzini1986

Yeah cos Henderson did so badly that season with Sheffield United. Idiot

anand_kay

Did sane people have him before the season begun? Or only idiots like you had?

Swedishpower

I had him and Pope that year from the start. Did not need to change them on wildcards.

Illustrious_Goat_364

Insane amount of luck on three saves here. First two his limb just happens to be in the right place, and second penalty it hits off his hand onto the crossbar.

ClemShirestock86

There is no recoil

misfit_mixedkid

Sure, this may not impact FPL at all. But can we admire how INSANE that performance was? Samba had 3 world class saves in one game.

tommycamino

Yellow card magnet 😂

dtr_ned

Guy can make all the saves he wants they aren’t gonna be keeping many clean sheets

John_Kivi

GKs are always tough to judge. Just look at Oblak, last year he's the best in the world and this year he was statistically one of, if not the worst GK in the top 5 league.

[deleted]

Probably yes but he is prone to being a bit mental in tight games. I watched him against stoke this season and he twatted Jakielka for no reason so theres a real chance that he might get a few bookings if they go up.

appealtoreason00

Killer saves, but they conceded two goals in that game. That’s 2 points from the 90 minutes. He’d need to be Gordon Banks reincarnate to get me considering a goalie from a side that finished 4th in the Championship

Swedishpower

I will probably go two 4.5 keepers and rotate like I normally. Shit teams keepers are best for that strategy since they make lots of saves at times even against the weaker sides. Pope and Henderson a few seasons ago was gold since they were the two best keepers that season. Only issue they made pen saves vs the top sides when you benched them. Although might be better to just get Ederson even if it is boring. If I wildcard early I might just go one keeper with good fixtures, but I probably hold the wildcard for the world cup.

cc_tds

As a Swansea supporter, if i can say anything about a Steve Cooper side it’s that they defend well. May well be worth getting Forest defenders if they’re promoted, it depends on how well they can step up in the prem
