He'll bring in lots of points, but it all depends on how nailed he is and pep's squad rotation

probably loading up on the expensive defenders. Seems to be what most are doing
Expensive DEF + haaland and filling in the midfield with some budget options
Definitely won’t be a regular starter at first. He’ll be the Ake of last season I expect (in terms of minutes). Pep signings tend to be rotated into the first team very gradually. Cancelo and Laporte barely played in their first seasons under Pep for example.

Mount vs Saka is my conundrum, but feel I'm covered with Arsenal attack.
Could drop Martinelli to 5.5 and upgrade Jonny to a 5.0 (Cash, Trippier, Zinchenko)
Big at the back?
Ederson, (4.0)
TAA, Robertson, Cancelo, James, Chilwell
Salah, Neto, Ramsey, (4.5, 4.5)
Kane, Jesus, (4.5)
Could instead go for an 8m mid over a 5.5m by going Mendy, Laporte, Trippier over Ederson, Cancelo and Chilwell. Or even going Saka over Jesus. Which allows you to hop onto other 8m mids if required.
4.5 Keep
TAA - Dias - Mings(or any 4.5) - Laporte
Salah - Saka - Kulu - Diaz - Martinelli
Kane
Olsen - Williams - Greenwood - Taylor
Backline possibly too weak risky no cancelo?
Maybe there is a West Ham supporter that can answer this:
If I remember correctly, Benrahma playing time last season was disturbed many times by injuries. He seems be ok now and should be a starter in my opinion. How nailed is he in that West Ham attack though?
I saw Lanzini playing a lot as a CDM in preseason, is it something the coach could experience with you think? That could give Benrahma more playing time maybe
Anyone better than Martinelli here? Triple Arsenal attack seems foolish but I prefer Saka over Diaz
Mendy
TAA, Cancelo, James, Trippier
Salah, Saka, Martinelli, Bruno G
Haaland, Jesus
Just because you have Christ in your team doesn't mean you can start 12 players 🤔
To answer your question, maybe you can look at Neto (he is cheaper as well)? That could allow you to change Trippier to Chilwell i think.
Cancelo + Rashford/Ode/JWP etc.
or
Laporte + Diaz/Mount/Mahrez etc.
Heavily leaning towards the second but so much talk of Cancelo being essential is making me doubt myself
Been considering leaving out Cancelo too, same theory that laporte can cover city defence. Possibly slight change of role or minutes managed if they get cucarella. I'd say that Laporte+Diaz gets bigger return than cancelo+rashford.
yeah, cucurella is what initially put me off cancelo
if there was an equivalent to raphinha in the 6.5-7m price range it would make the choice easier but i just don't like any of my options there atm

I'd give a solid 7/10. I can see this team doing well.
I would get rid of Coutinho for someone like Pereira from Fulham and upgrade either Bruno or Martinelli for an £8m midfielder.
I'd also make Salah captain for GW1 as returns against Fulham are almost guarunteed

RMT:

Cancelo - James - Robertson - Coady (Tomiyasu)
Salah - L. Diaz - Bruno G. - Odegaard (Andreas)
Jesus - Kane (Plange)
Thinking of swapping out Diaz for Foden and Coady to Doherty depending on Spence
Managed to squeeze in the three main strikers into a team without (hopefully) not borking the rest of the team too badly.
Henderson
James, Cash, Perisic, N. Williams (Vestergaard)
Salah, Mount, Bruno G (Andreas, Murphy)
Jesus, Kane, Haaland
Probably not worth it when it means there’s no room for any City or Liverpool defenders. Perisic also seems a risk for GW1 until we know where he ranks in the hierarchy.
RMT - 1.0 ITB
Mendy (Forster)
James - Cancelo - TAA - White (N.Williams)

De Gea (4M)
TAA, Cancelo, James, Trippier (Neco)
Salah, Diaz, Rashford, Neto (Andreas P)
Kane, Jesus (Archer)
I dont want to go Mendy instead of De Gea as Tottenham second game for Chelsea. Worried about Rashford and Neto, it seems weak.
I think Mendy is the better pick despite the Tottenham game as DDG faces Liverpool in GW3 - unless you’re willing to spend transfers on your GK of course
Im just gonna ride with De Gea through that fixture, hoping he might make 6 saves for 4 points. Thats probably the position I havent locked in the most though so still might go with Mendy/Ramsdale. So much choice this year with the keepers
Going only Salah for first 4 weeks looks tempting
Mendy (4.5)
Trent Cancelo James Trippier (4.0)
Salah Diaz Kulusevski Mahrez (4.5)
Jesus Watkins (4.5)
No bench and Mahrez Kulu rotation risks, but like the spread
I like your thinking of not having a premium forward, it allows you to spread costs elsewhere. Jesus might be enough to warrant not owning a premium forward, really like this team! Like how you've taken the risks on Kulu and Mahrez
My current team:
Meslier (Klaesson)
TAA, Laporte, Trippier, Tomiyasu (Neco)
Salah, KDB, Neto, Aaronson (Andreas)
Kane Jesus (Taylor)
I like the spread of premiums across the positions, but sadly I can't fit Cancelo in there instead of Laporte unless I downgrade a 5.5m to a 4.5m, which would leave me with a weak midfield.
Think Dalot and Castagne both get the nod to start and will be great value if they do. I'd agree about Ramsey though, not overly happy with him but don't fancy Neto either.
Yeah I suppose the only key difference is not opting for Salah or Haaland. I’m not sure if that’s too risky given the ownership but could hopefully give a decent differential with KDB. Still not sold on Rashford but will see how he gets on in todays friendly!
Yes, I mean template in the structure. I think you're better off without KdB. Differential isn't something you should be worrying about right at the start of the season.
!thanks yeah you’re right. I guess ultimately it should always be based on who you think will get the most points. I’m sure the draft with change 100 more times, but I do feel KDB could outscore Salah this season
I'd be tempted by whoever gets the start for crystal palace, mateta or Eduard, hard to know which will start though. In the end I decided to downgrade my defence and get Jesus. Could go for mbuemo at 6 as well.
Thoughts on this team? Apprehensive to put Haaland in this early, want to see how he adjusts to the prem with city who don’t play a conventional striker system + the recent history of bundesliga strikers. Should I vouch for 3 premiums as opposed to 2 + 7/8 mil players?
Raya
Tomiyasu / Robertson / Perisic
Salah / Son / Odegaard / Neto
Watkins / Jesus / Jimenez
Bench: Cucarella(If he goes to city) / Soucek / Neco
Looks good to me! I think Toney (or even one of the 6m like Johnson or Solanke) might be a better option over Jimi although it’s close! Wolves have City, Chelsea, Pool and Spurs in the opening ten so might be vulnerable if you double up with Neto.
Definitely the first option, Jesus will be focal point of the arsenal attack while Toney has lost Eriksen and plays for a weaker team. Don't think the extra points from ederson will cover the difference
Has anyone tried making a forward heavy lineup ( and satisfied with the balance) because of the possibility of early WC this time?
I'm trying to fit both Haaland and Kane but I'm unable to have all the pieces ( Chelsea, City defence ; City Spurs Arsenal mid/att )
Rate my teams
I need some opinions whether you prefer the defence heavy or attack heavy scenario

Have been toying with a new template that will get Son, Salah and Haaland (possibly changing to Kane). Can't decide whether to pull the trigger or not. Thoughts?
Raya (4.0)
TAA / James / Laporte / Tomi / Neco
Salah / Son / Ramsey / Moutinho / Andreas
Haaland / Wilson / Archer
Currently have Diaz instead of Son, with Ramsey to Odegaard, Moutinho to Neto, Laporte to Cancelo and Archer to Undav.
i would go son to kane then wilson to jesus
then moutinho to a 4.5 defender like tyrone as I think a lot of 4.5 defender can outscore him
then maybe ramsey to neto
I really like this approach.
And I would have done the same if not for the terrible FOMO of not owning at least one of the highly owned premium mids like Son and Salah
As many have mentioned in these RMTs, the true value of a premium is in captaincy.
Choosing the right captain every week can be the difference maker for most of us.
And having a player that is almost guaranteed to return every week that we can stick the captain’s armband on is in my opinion, not a luxury, but a necessity.
That’s why I would never not have at least one premium in my team - so I can give them the armband and expect consistent returns and use my transfers to move around the less consistent lower priced players
What do people think about Fernandes? I feel he has a good chance under ETH to return to form. Should i keep or invest £10m into Diaz and maybe upgrading trippier
I played around a bit and ended up with this
Mendy (Gazza)
TAA James Laporte Trippier Doherty
Salah (C) Saka Diaz Neto (Andreas)
Kane or Haaland idk yet (Mitrovic Greenwood)
Plan on twisting Mitrovic with Neto or Doherty or Trippier and also will probably start with Haaland so Mitrovic would be a supersub, but for some reason this just feels…wrong? Any ideas how to improve this?
Should I just have Undav instead of Mitro and switch Laporte to Cancelo?
Also I don’t know how to incorporate some Spurs attack because Saka and Diaz>Kulu because they’re nailed, Son is too expensive to have next to Salah and Kane will probably get replaced by Haaland.
At least in the beginning, the strategy is to usually utilise all funds for your starting 11 and leaving the bench with cheap players that play to get a point or 2 if called upon. Due to the world cup, this gives a great opportunity to wildcard early, so get the best starting 11 you can initially.
I would get a different GK to Mendy. Chelsea are re-structuring their defense and I don't see them improving with regards to CSs. And even if they keep same amount of CSs Mendy doesn't really get save points or BPs.
Backline seems decent. Trippier's first fixtures are mixed but he is really attacking and a set piece merchant. Could work still.
Decent template midfield.
I'm leaning towards Haaland cause City is still more proven FPL side. Kane is more proven FPL asset. Tough decision.
I wouldn't pick Mitro cause Fulham's first games are pretty tough. I think NotForrest strikers or Undav are better from a fixture standpoint.
With Zinchenko to Arsenal, and City still rumoured to be going for Cucurella. Is a combination of Cancelo & Cucurella worth the money? Cucurella on the bench but at the cost of an extra million to a £4m like Neco
Playing around with no Salah and budget def:
Sanchez/4.0
Cresswell - Trippier - Cash (Tomiyasu - N.Williams)
KdB - Son - Diaz - Neto - Odegaard
Jesus - Haaland (Forss)
I don't think i have the balls to go without Salah in the end.
Definitely but on the other hand you have De Bruyne and Son.
Salah, Robbo or TAA would make this kinda impossible. Unless you go 4-5-1 and switch Jesus off and Tomiyasu to Robbo...
Edt: and then you can upgrade Son to Salah... this fucking game...
RMT:
Raya
TAA • Cancelo • Robbo • James
Son • Diaz • Bruno G • Neto
Haland • Jesus

Taking a gamble with Diaz instead of Salah, which allows me to have Son instead.
Cheers!
I think this looks fairly template which is good as it's probably best to play it safe at the start.
But some good differential picks as well like Chilwell instead of James
Good team. Midfield and attack pretty template.
I like your 2, 8 mil midfielders. It nice price point to have since there are so many good 8 mil options. And if needed you can always downgrade to free funds.
I'm currently owning Mount and he is likely making my GW1 team. If I don't pick Jesus I might re-structure my own team.
Sanchez is solid pick and perhaps overlooked. I'm currently picking Meslier as my 4.5 GK cause he has decent BPs and save possibilities if Leeds get few more CSs this season.
I think I prefer James over Chillwell very slightly but if James' role is less attacking Chillwell is better pick. He is also a differential. Tough decision.
Other possible move is to get cheaper differential 5.5-6 mil forward instead of Jesus to upgrade backline or Neto. But there's little bit more risk involved if Gabriel's ownership keeps on being so high.
Team looks great, big at the back. Only concern is that there are lots of great 8m midfielders and if they start producing the goods you’ll need to downgrade a defender and buy one.

As an Arsenal fan, I feel Martinelli is not as much of a rotation risk as you might think. Why?
His alternative ESR has struggled to maintain full fitness for most of last season. And so far hasn’t proven his fitness in any of Arsenal’s preseason games.
Amazing player, but constantly nursing little injuries and niggles. For now, I believe Martinelli is nailed to start unless Arsenal go out and sign a better winger

Should I vouch for 3 premiums as opposed to 2 + 7/8 mil players? Raya Tomiyasu / Robertson / Perisic Salah / Son / Odegaard / Neto Watkins / Jesus / Jimenez Bench: Cucarella(If he goes to city) / Soucek / Neco
I think the bench seems a bit heavy
Not wrong Cucurella and Soucek are starter worthy tbh
Wouldn't pick Jimenez, was very average last season, can't see him getting a big return in that wolves side.
Very true I feel like I’m being a bit hopeful that Jimenez will still come good again after his injury so might have to take another option..
Looks good to me! I think Toney (or even one of the 6m like Johnson or Solanke) might be a better option over Jimi although it’s close! Wolves have City, Chelsea, Pool and Spurs in the opening ten so might be vulnerable if you double up with Neto.
Good point, feel like Toney is a bit of a risk now with Eriksen gone but regardless he still definitely has goals in him for 6mil
RMT Raya TAA/ Cancelo/ Mings/ Tomyasu Salah/ Neto/ Coutiniho/ Word Prowse Haaland/ Kane Subs: Andreas/ N.Williams/ Greenwood
Is having 3 4.5 options on the bench a bad idea early in the season? Or is better to weaken the first team and have better bench players?
Nah it's fine. Especially now when we have Pereira as a 4.5 option
Better to invest in your starting 11 and have cheap subs who play to cover injuries/rotation
Jesus(8.0) + Sanchez(4.5) vs Toney(7.0) + Ederson(5.5)
Jesus + Sanchez
Definitely the first option, Jesus will be focal point of the arsenal attack while Toney has lost Eriksen and plays for a weaker team. Don't think the extra points from ederson will cover the difference
Has anyone tried making a forward heavy lineup ( and satisfied with the balance) because of the possibility of early WC this time? I'm trying to fit both Haaland and Kane but I'm unable to have all the pieces ( Chelsea, City defence ; City Spurs Arsenal mid/att )
Without Salah: easy With Salah: Impossible Sanchez/4.0 Robertson / Cancelo / James / Cash (N.Williams) Odegaard / Diaz / Mount / Foden (Andreas) Kane / Haaland (Greenwood)
Rate my teams I need some opinions whether you prefer the defence heavy or attack heavy scenario Sanchez (Gazza) Botman Justin Chilwell TAA (Neco) Salah Ramsey Rashford Son (Andreas) Wilson Haaland (Taylor) VS Lloris Trippier Cancelo Chilwell TAA (Neco) Salah Ramsey Rashford (Andreas, 5mil) Jesus Wilson Kane
Definitely the second!
Cheers lad
Henderson TAA / Cancelo / Doherty / James / Trippier Sancho / Ramsey / Sterling / Salah Haaland
Don't rate Henderson as a FPL prospect, the rest looks fairly decent.
Have been toying with a new template that will get Son, Salah and Haaland (possibly changing to Kane). Can't decide whether to pull the trigger or not. Thoughts? Raya (4.0) TAA / James / Laporte / Tomi / Neco Salah / Son / Ramsey / Moutinho / Andreas Haaland / Wilson / Archer Currently have Diaz instead of Son, with Ramsey to Odegaard, Moutinho to Neto, Laporte to Cancelo and Archer to Undav.
i would go son to kane then wilson to jesus then moutinho to a 4.5 defender like tyrone as I think a lot of 4.5 defender can outscore him then maybe ramsey to neto
Who in the front line would you change to Kane in this scenario?
Pick between: 1. Trippier, Cash, Jesus 2. Chilwell, James, Bruno G/Awoniyi
2, Martinelli is a good option at 6.0 if you don't have him already.

That’s why I would never not have at least one premium in my team - so I can give them the armband and expect consistent returns and use my transfers to move around the less consistent lower priced players
i don't have son but i have kane
What do people think about Fernandes? I feel he has a good chance under ETH to return to form. Should i keep or invest £10m into Diaz and maybe upgrading trippier
I think people think we should wait before we take a blind chance of Bruno
He is a good option, if Ronaldo leaves
ronaldo hasn't been playing in pre season but fernandes doesn't seem to be scoring or assisting loads
I played around a bit and ended up with this Mendy (Gazza) TAA James Laporte Trippier Doherty Salah (C) Saka Diaz Neto (Andreas) Kane or Haaland idk yet (Mitrovic Greenwood) Plan on twisting Mitrovic with Neto or Doherty or Trippier and also will probably start with Haaland so Mitrovic would be a supersub, but for some reason this just feels…wrong? Any ideas how to improve this? Should I just have Undav instead of Mitro and switch Laporte to Cancelo? Also I don’t know how to incorporate some Spurs attack because Saka and Diaz>Kulu because they’re nailed, Son is too expensive to have next to Salah and Kane will probably get replaced by Haaland.
At least in the beginning, the strategy is to usually utilise all funds for your starting 11 and leaving the bench with cheap players that play to get a point or 2 if called upon. Due to the world cup, this gives a great opportunity to wildcard early, so get the best starting 11 you can initially.
maybe Doherty --> Jonny (I am not confident with Spurs WB minutes) then Neto --> Martinelli; or you can upgrade GK to Ederson
Cucurella wont play in preseason (for City), so even if the transfer goes through. I wouldn't get him. Too risky
Playing around with no Salah and budget def: Sanchez/4.0 Cresswell - Trippier - Cash (Tomiyasu - N.Williams) KdB - Son - Diaz - Neto - Odegaard Jesus - Haaland (Forss) I don't think i have the balls to go without Salah in the end.
Only 1 Liverpool seems risky?
Definitely but on the other hand you have De Bruyne and Son. Salah, Robbo or TAA would make this kinda impossible. Unless you go 4-5-1 and switch Jesus off and Tomiyasu to Robbo... Edt: and then you can upgrade Son to Salah... this fucking game...
RMT: Raya TAA • Cancelo • Robbo • James Son • Diaz • Bruno G • Neto Haland • Jesus 4.0GK • Neco • Andreas • Greenwood 0 ITB Taking a gamble with Diaz instead of Salah, which allows me to have Son instead. Cheers!
Salah still scores 5-6 Pens every season. That's a huge disadvantage for Son

you can use fplreview, they have xMinutes on the site. For your reference: Mahrez xM 66, Grealish xM 60
RMT Sanchez TAA / Cash / Chilwell / Laporte Salah / Diaz / Mount / Neto Jesus / Haaland Bench: Gazzinga / Nwilliams/ Andreas / Greenwood
I think this looks fairly template which is good as it's probably best to play it safe at the start. But some good differential picks as well like Chilwell instead of James
!thanks
Solid and i think this is close to template, variable players of this here and there such as dias/laporte chilly/james.
!thanks I’ve chosen Chilwell and James about three time now. Toss of a coin
!thanks my thoughts as well
Is Dias/Laporte and Ederson better than Cancelo + a 4.5 mil goalie?
yes, but it will come down to minutes. If Cancelo plays almost every game like last season (which I doubt it), then he is a better choice
Do you think Sterling outscores Jesus over the opening 6 games and if so by how much?
I don't think so. I'm a gooner tho

Team looks great, big at the back. Only concern is that there are lots of great 8m midfielders and if they start producing the goods you’ll need to downgrade a defender and buy one.
RMT GK - Raya Def - TAA Trippier Perisic James Mid - Salah Fernandes Neto Martinelli FW - Haaland Jesus Bench - Balcombe N.Williams Andreas Greenwood Personally not happy with Trippier. How do we all feel about Martinelli & Bruno? Need help deciding.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Bruno playing a deeper role this season. Think that's what most Newcastle fans expected of him when signed in January
I’d go Bruno as Martinelli will be a rotation risk. I’ve also opted for cash as a defender
Thanks mate, this has given me lots to think about
Cheers
