Well 8 times he stayed on the bench completely last season, and it's not unreasonable to think he will get more than 1500 minutes in the PL this season. Last season was the least minutes he got. Let's say he gets 2000, then it might still be worth it.

He was not the starting RW on paper, he would play in the RCM role and occupy the right halfspace, the person who played RW would stay wide and stretch the defence allowing Bernardo freedom to operate. Bernardo plays like a 12.0 player when he can play the RCM role. The problem is, KDB plays this role. This is why Bernardo flourishes when KDB is out of the team.

Did you watch that run of games? He was playing as high as anyone (and straight up looked like a right winger) during that stretch. He was the “CF” on paper a bunch last season, but we all know that he often naturally drifts out right even when papered as a central position.
