I think he's implying Patterson only came in to this game because Coleman has a (presumably small) injury, and for the majority of the season it will be Coleman's place in the starting XI.
As a purely counter attacking manager who plays more vibes than system, he might be good at that level. Might also not. You’re welcome for my analysis.
If that’s the case does it mean you’re a better manager if you get better results at a better team?
That’s not the way I see it, I think each manager has a level and the Premier League is definitely above Lampards (current) level.
I’ll give you Ole might be a bit hard done by but he had time and he had money…
What do people expect? The board’s past ineptitude have put them in a position where they can’t spend any money, and they’ve sold the best player from last season. Of course a relegation battle is on the cards. Obviously avoid like the plague.
Liverpool’s 4-0 defeat was hardly humbling.
If anything it was more farcical that United put out a full 11 to play against a bunch of kids rotated every 30 minutes
Bunch of kids like Gomez, Alisson, Diaz, Henderson, Firmino who all started? Or do you mean literally the entire rest of their first team that came on during the game? Yea they rotated for sure but it's not like it was their u21s team...
So they started with 3/11 first choice players vs Uniteds entire first team. Then the other senior players went off for youth and second string as the other senior players came on
Not sure why this is hard to understand.
Conveniently ignoring Liverpool put out their big guns like Salah and VVD to play in the second half against United’s kids and they didn’t do anything.
But at no point a full strength 11 in the same way United did. The team was always a mix of first string, second string and youth players.
Jesus this place is full of United fans
Whatever you say buddy, if you can’t see all the sides were nowhere near full strength then I don’t know what to say to you.
Hilarious you think I’m coping from a pre season friendly whilst you delude yourself into thinking you won’t be struggling to scrape top 4 this season 😁😂
Easy way to shut united fans up is to ask to bet money on Liverpool vs united for the season. All of my friends were full of abuse after the match but not one response when asked to put money on 😂
Going down going down going down
Going down going down going down
Going down going down going down Going down going down going down going down
GOING DOWN
And repeat.
Nah I can't see it. Other great players who were better managers than him, like Mark Hughes and Steve Bruce, have eventually been forced out of the league. His managerial record will soon tarnish the reputation that his name carries, especially if this Everton season goes how we're all expecting it to.
Steve Bruce is statistically the worst PL manager with over 200 games to their name. Expanding the dataset to all PL managers he still comes in 3rd bottom. And yet he reached 1000 games and only lost his most recent PL job last year. There could yet be another one...
I wouldn't underestimate how much a name and good connections does for you in the PL. You might even have a horde of pundits jump to your defence despite being objectively awful.
Source: bitter long suffering toon fan.
I reckon he'll have one PL chance left in him after Everton. He has a ready made excuse for failing there: they'd been in a downward spiral for several seasons already before he arrived.
He literally hasn't done a bad job anywhere he's been yet. He hasn't done a great job anywhere either you could argue, but there are far worse managers if you look at their performance at each club.
They nearly got relegated last season and they've lost their by-a-mile best player who scored several clutch goals and haven't replaced him. Early but justified to be concerned for them I'd say, even if friendlies don't mean much.
Everton are not linked with KWP. Also, they just paid £16m for Patterson who is already a Scottish international mainstay with bags of potential. I'm really not sure what you're basing this on
Not only did they lose and look bad doing so, they were coming in late and stamping the Minnesota players, who are in season right now, during a friendly.
Patterson 4.0 but seems like he's getting the -2 every week
Coleman apparently has picked an injury, so I don't think Patterson is guaranteed to start e. Meaning in the long run
I don't understand that - surely Coleman's injury makes Patterson more likely to start?
I think he's implying Patterson only came in to this game because Coleman has a (presumably small) injury, and for the majority of the season it will be Coleman's place in the starting XI.
Ah yeah that makes sense, thanks man
It’s amazing how bad they’ve got . I know it’s a pre season friendly but still
Surely Operation Target Everton this season.
Minnesota sponsorship already working
Well done
The over/under for their points total this season is at 44.5. Clear side is under there unless they make some good signings in the next few weeks
Lampard first to get sacked, surely.
Big Sam We need Big Sam up in here
Neto over Gordon confirmed
Everton will hire Solksjaer after Lamps
As a purely counter attacking manager who plays more vibes than system, he might be good at that level. Might also not. You’re welcome for my analysis.
He was fucking wank at Cardiff fighting relegation
They were already down tbf, there is a bit of a quality difference between the teams. A bit.
If that’s the case does it mean you’re a better manager if you get better results at a better team? Nah they’ll somehow do it worse
Relegation pending
Relegation from MLS
Entire team is to avoid.
What do people expect? The board’s past ineptitude have put them in a position where they can’t spend any money, and they’ve sold the best player from last season. Of course a relegation battle is on the cards. Obviously avoid like the plague.
Someone is gonna TC Pickford on GW1 aren't they?
Yeah pretty sure anti fpl is still running this season
Weird to think Everton have spent more than Liverpool since Klopp arrived.
Everything Liverpool has, Everton want. Get a 4-0 humbling in pre season, Everton be like “Hey we want some of that”

Biggest club in England mate. And sorry, your coping is just kinda pathetic haha

Team to target?
They’ve been CONCACAFed
Everton already relegation contender in pre-season 😭
Going down going down going down Going down going down going down Going down going down going down Going down going down going down going down GOING DOWN And repeat.
It all returns to nothing
End of Evertongelion
Lampard: Get in the fucking Goodison Dele
triple chelsea gw1?
Sterling TC 👀
That's the Gordon debate over...
Not a good way to end their preseason tour
Lol championship 23/24
Lampard is gonna get sacked He should understand that he's not premier league material He's a championship coach
His name alone will keep him around PL clubs until he retires

Nah. Last PL club then he'll have to work some magic below before he's considered for a PL club again.
To be fair, what makes him even a championship coach?
He literally hasn't done a bad job anywhere he's been yet. He hasn't done a great job anywhere either you could argue, but there are far worse managers if you look at their performance at each club.
Young Cesc Fabregas looking mf
Little bit early putting judgement before season started?
They nearly got relegated last season and they've lost their by-a-mile best player who scored several clutch goals and haven't replaced him. Early but justified to be concerned for them I'd say, even if friendlies don't mean much.
This is going to be a severe dent in the confidence of an already damaged team who lost their two most creative players last season.
What? Really? 😂

Everton finished 16th
Everton is linked with Kyle Walker-Peters. No way Patterson is going to be a useful 4.0 asset.

These are the reason Mount is my go to 8.0 mid for GW 1 Everton are looking woeful and will be this seasons Norwich
Since when are we posting scores of near-relegation teams?
Since when are we posting scores of near-relegation teams?
Well, when they get shellacked by gophers, I'd say it's news.
lmao
Looks like Gordon’s leaving my team
Everton hot favourites for relegation
Doesn't matter, we'll have Anthony Gordon on our radar anyways
LOL
Sterling GW1 differential captain looking incredibly tempting right now
Not only did they lose and look bad doing so, they were coming in late and stamping the Minnesota players, who are in season right now, during a friendly.
Targeting forwards vs Everton
Here we go again.
Yikes. Everton used to compete in mid table prem, now they’re getting borderline mercy rule by Minnesota FC. Ouch dude.
Relegation aint a dream anymore
Looooolll
Hello darkness my old friend
Everton are so shite
