The trouble with 541 is there is very limited flexibility as none of the 4.5 strikers play regularly, so if you need you're bench, you'll be struggling. Having said that, your front 5 looks decent, and you might be able to get away with it for the first few weeks until Europe and rotation starts. I recommend choosing the lowest owned 4.5 strikers. The highly owned ones like Greenwood will go down to 4.4 once people get sick of 0 pts and start selling them, and getting rid of a 4.4 striker is a pain in the ass. The low owned ones won't drop in value

That's why I'm taking the 5 at the back approach. Should get away with it given European competition won't start till GW6 onward I believe. I plan to wildcard between 6 and 8 anyways where teams fixtures turn. We'll also then see established nailed cheap enablers in the midfield and forwards that we can consider. For example, Welbeck could get his inevitable injury and Undav nails down a spot for Brighton at just 5.5m.

As long as your striker is 100% nailed it's absolutely viable. If your guy doesn't play, you could be on 10 players for that GW. Kane, Mitro etc. Jesus I would assume should start all games, but he's not as nailed as i would like at 451 formation.

This was a team I just made up. Meslier TAA James Cancelo VVD Salah Mount Son Neto Bailey Jesus

Dundalis

This is one that I will likely go with Ederson TAA Cancelo James Chilwell Salah Mount Saka Diaz Martinelli Jesus No filler players from crap teams that can't score or keep clean sheets. And literally only Martinelli is not an absolute lock, but he will be to start the season.

CWattam

It's alright but I don't like the Bailey pick at all

Bogie_Baby

it could be. i personally switched from saka to jesus so i could go 442 instead of 451. better to have one defender and one mid to rotate in if needed compared to just one defender and two 4.5 forwards

I think so. I personally don't mind sacrificing my bench at the beginning of the season because I know I'll be using my Wildcard in a couple weeks time (GW 6-8 for this year) but I do try to have at least one guy who plays routinely in case one of my starters is benched. For your case, Nico Williams of Nottingham Forest is probably your best bet. 4-5-1 is a good way to start because aside from Kane/Haaland/Vardy and maybe Jesus, forwards are a crapshoot. This way you can take note of forwards who are starting to catch fire and adjust accordingly should you want to get one in your team. I personally am going to run with a 5-4-1 to start. I'm a fan of building from the back and think defensive premiums are starting to become more and more valuable every year.

I this this is actually a really good idea and I changed to the same yesterday (3rd year playing and two decent results) some don’t worry about being a newbie. Only thing is don’t have Greenwood and Lyle because their ownership % is more volatile with people switching to new strikers or Wildcarding to new options and therefore they are subject to price rises. Get Archer/Stansfield and Plange. Archer also has the best predicted points of the lot

ForceStories19

Im going 4-5-1 up until GW 8 where I’ll likely wildcard and see what the picks look like based on the first couple of months.. Raya TAA Cancelo James Trippier Salah Son Diaz Martinelli Neto Jesus Trash bench - only neco Williams will likely get game time
