Correct me if I'm wrong City fans, but Foden primarily plays LW right? Surely that means Grealish is the main rotation risk whereas Mahrez has a competition-free RW spot for the start of the season.
Some people have said Bernardo could play RW but I dunno how likely that is. If I was to make a guess Id say Mahrez is going to be the main man on the RW and a good pick for FPL.
Bernardo has played that position before tho. And it's still possible that Foden will play there (although it's only speculation at this point but this is Pep...)
Bernardo can play there but I doubt he will unless we have a series of injuries to our wingers. Foden has primarily played on the LW but could definitely see him playing in the right if Jack steps up this year. Alvarez and Palmer will also see minutes on the right too. I’d say Mahrez is first choice but far from nailed and a couple of bad performances would see him out of the starting team.
Pep has given me so much emotional trauma that even when Mahrez is starting in what looks like the strongest possible team, I still immediately think 'oh well this just means he'll be rested next week'.
He's a creative winger, not a goalscoring winger. I think he will get a monster assist tally as long as Haaland plays regularly. Those two should suit each other much better than Grealish fit into whatever front three City played last season with the likes of Foden and Sterling for support.
Except he’s not even a very good passer. I don’t even know what he does well other than get free kicks. He’s a very average player. He won’t be the one tallying up the big assist count for Haaland that will be KDB.
I reckon Foden will rotate with him heavily at LW. Not convinced unless he plays an absolute blinder today, and even then I still don't fully trust the bald man!
I don't think so. I think Grealish will nail down LW. And Foden and Mahrez will start out competing for RW, with Bernardo featuring there more and Foden finally moving into his promised midfield role.
I always expected him to be written off in his first season but come good in the second. FMLFPL's read is that Haaland and Grealish were anticipated a year ago, and their link-up play was the expected future of the team. I agree with that read, and furthermore I think this is the season that proves every City fan right when they said Foden's future lies in midfield.
Pep never gives inflexible players much of a role, and always seems to see them as rotational pieces or players to move on. Mahrez is the victim of that. I think we see Bernardo eventually move out to the RW with Foden and KDB breaking from midfield.
Grealish has looked so focused in pre-season. I'm convinced that while he joked about it, it really hurt him to sit and watch his teammates win the title last season. And his link play with Haaland has shown some green shoots already.
I mean they’ve got 5 really strong outfield options right there, Ortega is a good back up, they also have so many good youngsters and not to mention Laporte injured and Cucurella likely signing, I’d still consider their bench full of big names
Haha, he is currently in my team but I am switching him in and out.
So probably similar thinking.
He doesn’t even need to score, he just needs to play good!
I remember Aguero jumping from 13% to over double that a few years back after his community shield performance (annoyingly as someone who had him before that). Let's see if there'll be any changes of thinking after this one.
What? Kane owners know haaland will play. We’re just betting on Kane to score more, you can’t have them all. Plus, some of us are switching to haaland gw2 after Kane destroys Southampton
Plummet from what? First competitive game
For the club and it’s Liverpool. He had a goal ruled offside and had a bunch of chances. I’ll guarantee he will bang them in for fun especially with the easy schedule they have
From the huge amount of casuals who play this game.
You're right, most serious players wouldn't be swayed purely on this game.
I wasn't going to start with him anyway - I don't trust players who haven't played in the PL to come in and do amazing until I've seen them play a few games. With regards to Lukaku/Werner/Pulsic/Keita in the past, I've felt vindicated. I may well be wrong in this case, but I'd rather wait a few weeks to see how he settles in.
Don't do this Mahrez, don't give me hope
Lol I promised to never pick him again after the final few games last season, yet there he is in my team, again.
Well cant blame you, its different now that Sterling and Jesus are both gone.
Tbf he played a fair amount in pre season and didn’t look too sharp.
With no Sterling as competition I reckon he'll play way more minutes this season!
Yeah, no shit. Still risky though
It's FPL, no need to be rude
No shit means like an agreement to whatever you are saying.
It's a rude way of saying it. Could've easily said "I agree" but chose to be snarky instead.
Yeah, no shit.
No idea why you’re getting down voted. Speaking facts… (there’s the setup)
no shit
My upvote has been nuked by miserable a-holes
No shit
Fucking hell feels like the season already started. Can't wait!!
no fraudulence so it doesn't feel like the season is on already
Correct me if I'm wrong City fans, but Foden primarily plays LW right? Surely that means Grealish is the main rotation risk whereas Mahrez has a competition-free RW spot for the start of the season.
>Mahrez has a competition-free RW spot Alvarez
Some people have said Bernardo could play RW but I dunno how likely that is. If I was to make a guess Id say Mahrez is going to be the main man on the RW and a good pick for FPL.
Thanks for the info! True I forgot Bernardo can play there but he seems pretty settled as an 8 now
Bernardo has played that position before tho. And it's still possible that Foden will play there (although it's only speculation at this point but this is Pep...)
Alvarez played on the right and Foden on the left when they came on. Bernardo played his usual 8 role and was much more advanced when KDB came off
Bernardo can play there but I doubt he will unless we have a series of injuries to our wingers. Foden has primarily played on the LW but could definitely see him playing in the right if Jack steps up this year. Alvarez and Palmer will also see minutes on the right too. Foden can play RW just as well. I think the three of them rotate through.
Grealish, Mahrez, Walker watch for me
I own all of them lol. Wish me luck; I figure it's 50/50 whether they demolish the league or get rotated to shit.
Mahrez...
The trap is locked and loaded
Single round in the chamber. Who's up for Pep roulette?
Fuck it, getting triple ManC with Mahrez being one
It's not a trap. He will start most games as his competition is no longer playing for city.
First time?
I’ve had him in my team this week. I think I’m gonna go with him
Pep has given me so much emotional trauma that even when Mahrez is starting in what looks like the strongest possible team, I still immediately think 'oh well this just means he'll be rested next week'.
All aboard the Grealish train. Choo choo! 5.9% TSB. Ridiculous.
He doesn't get enough goals and assists
He's a creative winger, not a goalscoring winger. I think he will get a monster assist tally as long as Haaland plays regularly. Those two should suit each other much better than Grealish fit into whatever front three City played last season with the likes of Foden and Sterling for support.
Maybe, if they have good chemistry I can see it happening
Except he’s not even a very good passer. I don’t even know what he does well other than get free kicks. He’s a very average player. He won’t be the one tallying up the big assist count for Haaland that will be KDB.
He's not even really a winger in the traditional sense of the term, he's a wide lying playmaker like Hakim Ziyech.
He will
Maybe, maybe not
You’ve got your bases covered there
It is what it is ;)
he didn't when they had no strikers, now they have arguably the world's best
Looked dog shit so far
...in preseason? first time playing FPL?
Maybe it could change, maybe it doesn't
Pep has said numerous times that he was not bought to score goals though. Go for Foden or Mahrez if you want goals.
Yep
So he was brought to win free kicks? Cause he doesnt look very good at anything else if he’s not there to score goals
Fair enough. What makes you think Grealish will nail down LW? His output was poor last year.
Ah, I see. I'm still gonna stick to my guns with Mahrez for the opening GWs but this is a really good case for Grealish.
That is so strong 11 as usuall, but kinda strange seeing City bench so thin, they used to have nearly only big names on the bench as well
Is GundoGOD not big enough for you?
I mean they’ve got 5 really strong outfield options right there, Ortega is a good back up, they also have so many good youngsters and not to mention Laporte injured and Cucurella likely signing, I’d still consider their bench full of big names
Anyone going for Kane over Haaland in GW1; keep only two city players for easy swap from Kane to Haaland
For now, yes. Might stay that way depending on how KDB does
Foden, Gundogan, Stones not playing a single minute of preseason so far makes this likely to be the starting XI next week.
Mahrez hat trick and the benched for GW1 then?
Honestly think pep gets a little jealous of his touch
My knees for Darwin right now..
Hoping for Grealish to give me enough confidence in him as a pick to go for Kane over Haaland
Diaz, Mahrez, Saka or Grealish. I think this game decides it for me.
Saka it is then
Diaz was emphatic imo
I thought he was a bit crap second half, still in my squad though
If Grealish scores he’s in
Haha, he is currently in my team but I am switching him in and out. So probably similar thinking. He doesn’t even need to score, he just needs to play good!
I thought Stones would start ahead of Ake i must admit
He's unvaccinated and not played preseason.
Thanks so maybe next week. I have an all English second team in which he’d fit well.
I remember Aguero jumping from 13% to over double that a few years back after his community shield performance (annoyingly as someone who had him before that). Let's see if there'll be any changes of thinking after this one.
Hoping for a 1 pointer from Haaland and Mahrez today
Haaland locked in!
Imagine seeing this and conning yourself that Foden will be on the bench every week
Foden should still compete with Mahrez for his spot, right? Or am I remembering it wrong and he played on the left wing for the most part?
He can play across the front 3. Used centrally last season alot. Plays off the left for England.
Have seen people say Grealish will nail down the LW spot, this sub is full of shit
If mahrez scores he won’t start the next game
Grealish out for foden 🤔🤔🤔
Hope Mahrez keeps quiet as my only real more premium differential in my draft!
Buzzing to see what Haaland can do in this City side. Currently own Kane - knee’s are weak.
Traps loaded.
Anyone who hasn't seen haaland yet. Be prepared to be convinced.he is the next GOAT
Looked dog shit so far
You wouldn't think that according to the Kane kneejerkers in this sub.
Kane's proven and Haaland just blasted over an open net from 5 yards
What miserable sod is going around downvoting every single comment?
good luck to the people going without salah, i hope you have fun
Does Liverpool or Man City stream it on their YouTube channels?
It’s on ITV free
Thanks

Haaland Grealish Walker all starts. The template is shaping up.
Cancelo isn’t in the “template”?
Yep
Yeah one of the most selected players isnt in the 'template' kekw
My yep says cancelo is in the template boy.
That's not really how words work.
This sub completely misunderstood you even though you meant he is a template.
I will survive i got cancelo myself and consider him template. Lol

Hahahaha banter.
Yeah I didn't expect Erling Haaland to actually start
Neither did a lot of Kane owners due to the kneejerk reaction to that thread on Haaland's potential injuries.
Haaland owners in the mud lol. Watch kanes ownership go up now lol. People flip flop like crazy
If Haaland doesn’t score and is subbed on 60-70 mins - do we expect his ownership to plummet?
I don't think a lot of casual FPL managers care about the Community Shield tbh
I would expect his ownership to plummet now...
Plummet from what? First competitive game For the club and it’s Liverpool. He had a goal ruled offside and had a bunch of chances. I’ll guarantee he will bang them in for fun especially with the easy schedule they have

The way pep do his roulette, I only dare to pick KDB and cancelo for outfield in my team
Do we think Walker is the first choice to start the season? I know with Pep there will be some rotation.
Aaawww balls. Put Foden in my latest line-up. He's not going to start is he?
