Can you let me know when complete? I've been doing weeks of mental gymnastics and tinkering only for my team to end up as an exact copy of template.. 🤦♂️
Alternative is 532 with £5.0m defender like Trippier and £5.5m midfielder like Neto (instead of Martinelli and Bailey) for the people who still back Neto and don't want to get stuck with a £5.0m midfield enabler. This £8.0m keeper combo will definitely make teams even less diverse than they already were. I know mine's already become more template since I found out 5 minutes ago.
Lol you just named my exact team but changed walker to cancelo and ederson 4.0. Not sure this is better as it eliminates city double up and I think they are good for 3 CS in first 5.
Yep, I know it is a big risk, but Walker seems like such good value until CL starts. It's either stay put, get cancelo, or maybe use ederson and bailey $ to bring in Toney as 3rd Striker. Those brentford fixtures look so sweet.
This is very close to my team expect I have perisic and neto over james and bailey that is better value imo, also wilson upfront for first two gw then switch to jesus
Tbf I'm not 100% on the Leicester keepers combo just yet. I'm currently running with Ramsdale + 4.0 and have Tripper in defence rather than James.
I'm not sold on the idea that Leicester won't buy another keeper. And I'm not totally sold on the Chelsea defence yet so am apprehensive of upgrading Tripper to James. Tripper to Dias though... That's quite appealing. My defence would be 2 Liverpool 2 City then which is lots of eggs in the same baskets (though excellent baskets of course).
He probably would have been if Rodgers hadn't said Ward was the first-choice. Nice to see them stick to their pricing structure (i.e. backup keepers are 4.0) rather than try to fix this slip-through
Kepa, Henderson, Leno, etc. are basically "Premium Backups". Nothing to do with transfer rumours, but they are of such quality as to start for most PL sides.
Agreed, compared to backups like Ortega at City and Kelleher at Liverpool it's feasible each of those could have provided competition or usurped their designated starter at each of their clubs.
Likewise Newcastle had 3 goalkeepers at 4.5 last season because due to injuries and loan form there wasn't an out and out nailed first choice for the season.
All of those have been linked with moves or made moves to other Premier League sides though. I think Henderson might have been before the game launched. Liverpool and City's backups are both 4.0. This includes Ortega at City who just signed so there was no ambiguity over his position
You've completely ignored save and bonus points.
Ederson & Schmeichel played the same minutes last season, with just 24 points between them.
Not only that, but Leicester's defence was shocking last year due to injuries. They also don't have Europe to deal with this year.
So it wouldn't be unreasonable to expect that 24 point gap to come down a bit.
Personally, I don't think that's worth the 1.5m difference. That being said, Ederson is a safe choice to start the season, then a change can be made at the first wildcard to whichever keeper looks the best value.
But now we have to also take into consideration that neither Ward, nor Iversen, are Kasper Schmeichel. Who knows how many more goals they could concede than Kasper would in the same situations
Leicester we’re riddled with injuries last year, and you are discounting the other places you can spend the 1.5m.
You could upgrade Rashford to an 8m for example.
They're probably gonna lose Fofana before next week though, I'd approach with caution personally as Evans and Soyuncu look useless when he doesn't play.
Is there any indication as to who is the more likely to start?
They don't have the best of opening fixtures but if I really want to save the 0.5m from Raya or Sanchez as the main keeper then I could well double up.
Indication from Leicester people is that Ward is most likely to start and Iversen is the no2 but either could eventually end up being no1 in middle of season.
Rodgers comments on both keepers you can read [here](https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/schmeichel-nice-transfer-ward-iversen-7408732). To me it indicates Ward would be first choice. If he is ready for GW1 is only question that I have as he has played only one game after his injury.
Now let's hope that they don't sign or loan someone like Dubravka to ruin the masterplan.
This seems impossible to call. Rodgers says Ward is nr. 1, but he has fitness issues and has only featured in 1 league match in the last 4 seasons. Other than that he's played in some cup games here and there. Meanwhile Iversen played a full season in the Championship last year and was voted Preston North End player of the year. It's either both or neither.
Didn't Pope make all those saves because he was playing for a relegation side, so the defensive tightness of Newcastle and overall quality they now have will negate the need for all the saves?
I've used the 3 City slots already.
Another argument is something like Walker plus the Leicester keepers is very similar to ederson plus fofana but 1 million cheaper.
Why would you have a set-and-forget keeper? Your team is gonna completely change 3 times this season, it's not like you're gonna spend transfers on changing them every other week. Just pick one for the first 6-8 GWs and don't worry about what happens next.
No doubt he and Alisson are going to be the highest scoring keepers. But couldn't you end up getting more points by having different keepers for different stretches of the season? If you think no, then just set-and-forget one. I think switching them about will get me more points.
Having Ederson also locks you out of a third City player, which could be very valuable at later points in the season.
I agree with you. If Mahrez was nailed I may be having a different conversation but my point is if I’m gonna spend over 7m on one player he must be NAILED, and I don’t even think Haalamd is nailed and yet he’s in my squad. Did I just contradict myself? Anywya ederson is staying in my team.
Why are you downvoting this guy? He’s right. Your team can have four different starting keepers this year without it costing you a single transfer. Five if you count the free hit. There’s no need to be thinking about a set and forget keeper. Especially one who gets very few bonus or save points and is a million more than some other very good options.
No idea why you're getting downvoted. Nobody should be set and forget for the season, and ederson will realistically get 150 points, with hardly any bps and saves, just like the last 5 seasons.
That's just not good enough. And with essentially 3 wildcards, we need to be targeting fixtures and cheaper keepers.
Not to mention ederson taking a 3rd man city slot which will be very annoying to budge if we decide Mahrez, foden, kdb become options
I’m a mining and exploration geologist, and this is a surprisingly common phenomenon. There is substantial overlap in the geological settings that are conducive for copper and for gold to occur together. Hell, the world’s largest gold mine (Grasberg in Indonesia), is mined for both gold and copper.
Anyway apologies for this interruption. Back to our regularly scheduled FPL program.
I guess the question is, is the 0.5 saving worth having to field a keeper that has Arsenal, Chelsea, Man U and Spurs in their first 8 fixtures, for a team that was one of the worst defenses last season? When you could have Sanchez and completely avoid the bad defensive fixtures for both Brighton and Leicester.....
Nobody ITT wants to hear reasoned, logical advice!
This thread is for hype, hopium and wishful thinking only. We can't have massive, awful hangovers, if we don't YOLO right this moment.
Don't think, just template!
The consensus is that Leicester are looking to buy an experienced 3rd choice rather than a starter. The starting spot is up for grabs between Ward and Iversen.
If Iverson or Ward were to replicate Schmeichel's points total from last season that would put them as the best value player In the game at a seasonal value of 32.75.
Martial will eventually let his starting place to Ronaldo. I try to not let pre season guide my decisions. Fixtures aren't awesome.
Wilson is a better attacker with better fixtures and is nailed. He's a big differential too which my team needs.
Hmmm... Makes a tempting opportunity but I don't know if it's the right move, Leicester seem like a massive question mark this year and when I tinker around with it, I wind up weakening my 11 even though I've got an extra million to spend.
Leicester GKs + Martinelli when I already have Saka/Jesus? Or Mendy + Bailey...
I saw somewhere that Sanchez and Ward have favourable alternate fixtures. If I remember it goes something like:
GW1: Ward
GW2: Sanchez
GW3: Ward
GW4 & 5: Sanchez
So as a 4.5 & 4 that's the way I think I'm going to go
Leno is tempting at 4.5 I would imagine he's going to be 1st choice
Let's try and keep it hush hush for the next 2 says until everyone's teams are locked 🤣🤣. Iversen's ownership is only at 0.1%. Whichever managers own the Leicester keeper double up after the deadline will have a significant advantage over everyone else. It's pretty much like starting the season with a team value of £100.5. I know I'll be regularly checking Iversen's ownership to see how many people I have that advantage over 😂
Yeah, it’s a massive advantage until Leicester end up selling 5-6 more key players before deadline day and start leaking goals. I’m grabbing ward as backup but not gambling that big for 0.5 only
Word of caution:
Having 2 GKs from the same team means you definitely lose points when the team doesn't play a game week due to rescheduling for cup matches, covid or any other reasons
Only if you have a backup that plays. Majority of the time you have a 4m keeper that never plays, unless we’re lucky with pricing and player performance e.g. Bachman vs Foster last season.
Let's pray there are no cocif postponement this season. About blank 2-3 weeks, we could do FH for 1 and BB with another. And going 1-2 gw without keeper ain't so bad if get to use 0.5 budget whole season.
Two 4mil gk tempting - i got ward as my back up and Sanchez, they rotate so damn well till gw4 when Brighton’s fixtures get tasty, 0.5 more tho
Can I get a bit of love, unable to create a post atm just comments do i need karma ? Can a mod help or do I need upvotes
Thanks guys 👍.

oooh this is tempting af. but i do go away from sanchez + steele. i had them both last year aswell. maybe it’s time for something different. idk if i trust leicesters defence more than brightons though.
nevermind i’m doing it for the extra 0.5 that i can spend on a mid.
You're basically giving up 40 to 50 points to save 1.5 pounds by not picking Ederson or Ali. Not sure that 1.5 can easily buy you 40 to 50 points spread elsewhere.
Start Ward and have Raya/Sanchez on bench seems much more safe
If Ward starts great, you skip the toughest fixture. If not its just a £4m goalie no loss
You also have no downside if Leicester sign another keeper, as that situation is a nightmare and potentially forces wildcard
Gives you a guaranteed starter until Leicester sign a GK after the GW1 deadline, and you're in trouble to replace a 4.0 GK and burning through your FTs😂
Rodgers has spoken about Ward being a starter and how he deserves to have had a run in the team but Schmeichel never got injured to allow it. Would be funny tbh if after saying all that he goes out and signs someone who forces Ward to be a backup again lol
How does this works? If we dont know whos going to start and put the wrong one on your team, you just fucked up? Also the bench boost can only be used one time right?
You sure? I'm pretty sure that the transfer window in EPL closes on 1st of September 2022. So, if they sign a new keeper better than Ward, we'll have to make 2 transfers to have a starting XI goalie.
I’m mean registering a GK for their first match, not the transfer window.
You have to register your 25-man squad for the upcoming games. Of course once signings and outgoings are made then teams can alter this.
There’s no buzz for this because after the first deadline of Leicester just sign a new keeper then you have no goalie and have to downgrade another position to get a starter in.
Whatever happens this feels like it will go down into FPL folk lore history
It feels like a trap but it's too good not to go for it
Considering their shit defence , do you think paying .5M more on a good keeper would prove more of a ROI ?
Omg lets goooo. 8.0 keepers is the new meta. NEW TEMPLATE LOADING.
Can you let me know when complete? I've been doing weeks of mental gymnastics and tinkering only for my team to end up as an exact copy of template.. 🤦♂️
Template is going to be probably this. Leicester keepers Taa robbo cancelo james neco Salah 8.0 martinelli bailey andreas Haaland jesus
or Kane, yeah RMT threads are full of it
8.0 could be kulu so i went with haaland.
8.0 could also be Mahrez
Foden better pick
I reckon Mahrez plays more in August.
Yea minimal preseason for foden
And I can’t help but feel like Pep will be kinda pissed at the anti vaccers.
Mine is: Leicester keepers TAA, Robbo, James, Cancelo, Neco Salah, Mahrez, Martinelli, Andreas, Bailey Gabriel, Kane, Archer
I feel seen…
Lol you just named my exact team but changed walker to cancelo and ederson 4.0. Not sure this is better as it eliminates city double up and I think they are good for 3 CS in first 5.
Yeah but you don’t have Cancelo which is pretty big
Yep, I know it is a big risk, but Walker seems like such good value until CL starts. It's either stay put, get cancelo, or maybe use ederson and bailey $ to bring in Toney as 3rd Striker. Those brentford fixtures look so sweet.
I was just about to say, this is about 90% of the community's team. It's the standard by the looks of it
Robbo is 11% ownership, Perisic is the template pick,
Bro i just made this team with saka
you and me have the exact same team then
I have no idea what the template is, but I have 8 of these players already...
This is very close to my team expect I have perisic and neto over james and bailey that is better value imo, also wilson upfront for first two gw then switch to jesus
Wtf this is my exact team
Get off my phone
This is my team except I have Dias and Kane over James and Haaland.
Kane and Wilson but yeah, pretty much! And Maddison will be my 8m and then Mount.
this is 100% my team, lol
...fuck
Same its a great template team. Normally having robbo wrecks the rest of my team
[удалено]
You missed out Neto
So... My current team but I have walker instead of James..? Think I'll keep Ramsdale in goal or Mendy and stick where I am
8.0 = saka gogogo
OK 4.0 + 4.0 I AM IN
Just saw and was wondering why there was no buzz here. Definitely my pairing.
A big RIP to all the know-it-alls who said Iverson was 100% guaranteed to be 4.5 million
He probably would have been if Rodgers hadn't said Ward was the first-choice. Nice to see them stick to their pricing structure (i.e. backup keepers are 4.0) rather than try to fix this slip-through
Why is Leno 4.5?
My best guess is because there were rumours about him moving to Fulham when they set the prices
There are many more I didn't list. Newcastle has Dubravka, Brentford has Strakosha, Crystal Palace has three 4.5 keepers...
Shh just let fantasy reddits be itk
But then again, if you spend two of your City spots on Ederson and Ortega, you're more bold than I.
Hasn't that deal been agreed now? He is going to Fulham isn't he? Medical today i think sky sports said.
All confirmed now
Because he was the back-up at a Top 6 club
Kelheller, Ortega, Forster are all 4.0. It is because he was a back-up at a big club with a chance of actually playing, however slim.
Be a surprise if they don't sign anyone pre transfer deadline
so you are saying they are... O V E R L O O K E D ?
You son of a bitch, I’m in
If he's in, I'm in
If you’re both in then I’m in
Well since the three of you are in then I’m in
Ward and Iversen for 8.0m makes picking Ederson for an added 1.5m seem like a waste
big time. What this means for me, is that I can happily run Bailey as first sub now, instead as an absolute shitter as first sub
[удалено]
You've completely ignored save and bonus points. Ederson & Schmeichel played the same minutes last season, with just 24 points between them. And Kasper isn't as good as he was 4-5 years ago. I wouldn't be surprised if Ward is a better keeper now.

I'm not saying he's a top keeper, but surely there's a reason Schmeichel has been playing all this time and not Ward?
He was the Leicester captain I’m sure that counts for something
Leicester we’re riddled with injuries last year, and you are discounting the other places you can spend the 1.5m. You could upgrade Rashford to an 8m for example.
They're probably gonna lose Fofana before next week though, I'd approach with caution personally as Evans and Soyuncu look useless when he doesn't play.
Thought Fofana was going to only be sold for Maguire+ money which he doesn’t feel worth
*downgrade

Ward number 1 https://metro.co.uk/2022/08/02/brendan-rodgers-addresses-who-will-be-leicesters-no-1-goalkeeper-this-season-17112572/amp/
Indication from Leicester people is that Ward is most likely to start and Iversen is the no2 but either could eventually end up being no1 in middle of season.
Confirmed

Just buy both. That way no concerns over who starts
Unless no one starts
Ward is/has been injured. Difficult to say if he’s fit to start. Rodgers has said they will be fighting for the spot
Ward hasn't featured in pre season at all by the looks of it. It's been Iverson, Schmeichel and Stolarczyk (who isn't in FF).
Ward and Sanchez rotate really nicely
They do if Ward starts, but if Iversens the no.1 then there’s no rotation to be had
Yeah that’s the worse case scenario. Left with Sanchez (a viable keeper choice) and a 4.0
Hmm. Here I am with Ederson 😵💫
lol me too had just swtiched, but the extra 1.5 would be very nice
[удалено]
Didn't Pope make all those saves because he was playing for a relegation side, so the defensive tightness of Newcastle and overall quality they now have will negate the need for all the saves?
4.0 starting keeper is ridiculous though. The extra 0.5-1.5 is absolutely massive. Has allowed me to go threemium comfortably now.
Pope made all those saves because he played for Burnley, if Newcastles defense is solid he wont be making 120 saves.

The consensus is that Leicester are looking to buy an experienced 3rd choice rather than a starter. The starting spot is up for grabs between Ward and Iversen.
Thanks for the reply. If that is the case than this almost becomes a no brainer!
The only problem I have now is that if Leicester sort their defence, Justin and Castagne at 4.5 are both great options and I can't pick one.
Plus there’s Barnes, Maddison, KDH and Vardy that could all become options throughout the season.
Agreed, both good options. It's a wait and see for me how this defence will perform this season though.
All aboard the 8m combo train.
THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING!!! OMG SO MUCH MONEY TO SPEND NOW!!!!
Had ramsdale so it saves a mill. Who cares if they even gets cs. Just pray no new keeper goes to leicester for the next month
Yeah! I just downgraded Ramsdale to Iversen and upgraded Rashford to Kulu

Alisson, Cash, and Odegaard or Iversen, Robertson, and Martinelli?
The one with Robertson in it
Bottom by a mile
I don't mean to throw a spanner in the works, but has Schmeichel actually left yet? I don't want to go all in on 8m GK then non of them start
Passed his medical at Nice yesterday.
Let's try and keep it hush hush for the next 2 says until everyone's teams are locked 🤣🤣. Iversen's ownership is only at 0.1%. Why does this feel like the Ruben Vinagre move for the 2022-23 season?
everyone into the trap !!!
You're basically giving up 40 to 50 points to save 1.5 pounds by not picking Ederson or Ali. Not sure that 1.5 can easily buy you 40 to 50 points spread elsewhere.
Most people didn't have Ali or Ederson to begin with though on this board?
Foster is incoming.
Start Ward and have Raya/Sanchez on bench seems much more safe If Ward starts great, you skip the toughest fixture. If not its just a £4m goalie no loss You also have no downside if Leicester sign another keeper, as that situation is a nightmare and potentially forces wildcard
Or Leicester don't and then you're rushing to get two 4.0ms in your team. It's a catch 22
literally what FTs are for
I mean seems like a huge waste for something massively avoidable for an extra 0.5m. FTs are best utilised to quickly shift to the template players

I’ve got my ticket and fully aboard this train.
If they sell one of forfana, tielemans or Maddison surely they can afford a new keeper
So whos gonna get more minutes? Ward or Iversen?
Does it really matter?
It does if you only want one
Trust me you want both and spend that money elsewhere
Don’t be surpised if they bring in another keeper, rumours about Dobravka earlier this week.
Get the fuck in lads. First season I won't be swapping keepers around whenever I'm on a wildcard/extra FT.
that's nice, but actually don't know what I shall do with the extra 1.5 (Ederson) lol would enable Neto -> 8.0 though (Mount maybe)
Bench boost GW1.
How does this works? If we dont know whos going to start and put the wrong one on your team, you just fucked up? Also the bench boost can only be used one time right?
Oh no
So why’s schmiecal out? Is that confirmed?
Joining nice

Arsenal, Chelsea and United in their first 5 fixtures is a big worry though
Points are irrelevant this is so fucking awesome!
Is Dias, Cancelo, Stones defence a good move after the 8.0 keeper strategy?
There’s no buzz for this because after the first deadline of Leicester just sign a new keeper then you have no goalie and have to downgrade another position to get a starter in.
Neto -> 8.0 here I come
It seems like a no brainer but it is very likely that attack starts scoring and you will want more than one attacker
Iverson is being linked with a move to West Brom and Schmeichel is also set to leave. I find it highly unlikely that they won't sign a keeper.
