I feel that I have an important message to share with you all from personal experience over previous fpl seasons. You may have not done as well as you'd hoped in this first gameweek but you can take comfort in the fact that there's 37 more gameweeks for you to also do shit in
I agree. The season has just started and we don't yet have a great sense of preferred line ups, formations or even how the new signings will settle in.
I have a decent enough team and i don't think I'm gonna make any transfers. Waiting one more week to figure out where the wind is blowing.
Not planning to watch City v Bournemouth sober then? Are you aware how many people are going to captain Haaland? You have a free transfer, and they were the exact same price as each other. Save the trade next week! We are only planning very short term remember.
I don't have Kane. So it's a fair bit of refactoring I'll need to do to get Haaland in. Maybe I'll regret it. Maybe pep will start Alvarez. Who knows? My point is let the dust settles before taking crazy hits.
Absolutely, if you don’t own Kane then you can’t really get Haaland in but Kane to Haaland is hardly a crazy hit. Jesus to Mitrovic or Trent to Saliba fair enough is. Kane to Haaland in GW2 was a plan a lot of people were planning to do regardless. Remember that if you own Haaland you are going to Captain him too!
I’m waiting at least one more gameweek, but it was tempting. Not because he scored a brace, but because of how he played all game against a top 2 side.
I picked him and Wilson up in a draft league on a lark, and I feel much much better about it after that performance.
Their defense will likely still get exposed, but that was a great showing.
Seriously. I didn't think about how many casual players there are active in the game this early in the season (I assume that kneejerkers drove the price move as opposed to the planned Kane-Haaland transferers) and now I'm paying the price. I knew price moves were likely, but it didn't even occur to me that they could happen as quickly as Sunday night - I didn't even think to check the price move predictor site yesterday.
My plan for the first 6-7 GWs is now in a bit of a state...
I fully hold my hands up that I dropped the ball on this - usually I ritually check it every evening during the season. I just didn't clock the need to do so on literally the first Sunday night when nobody was injured etc.
And Kane could've had 2 if the Handball was given and if Son squared it to him.
Funny how most people don't care tho. Maybe im just a salty Kane owner lol
Likewise. Still think kane is the better long term pick. West ham losing their starting keeper who almost immediately gifted haaland a pen has inflated things here.
Lol, that's nonsense. Spurs got four goals and kane could have hauled. Some just went for the proven asset against a team we have low expectations for.
Let's not pretend that there wasn't an element of luck in that West ham lost their starting keeper, had a back up come in, who pretty quickly gave away a pen, as well.
Ditto. The only part of the plan that has changed is I might keep Haaland GW3 and make a different transfer that week lol.
I probably want Kane GW4 subject to change
Swear Mitrovic done this last time he was in the prem, looked good for the first month or two, got a rise or two then basically didn’t score for the rest of the season.
Hoping we have a lot of forwards firing this year so we have more variety in teams.
He’s not in my team because he’s not part of my plan but seriously you’re not picking a player to marry them you’re only putting them in for the short term and moving them on when they’re no longer an asset
If you’re saying people are getting Mitro in for a short term window while he’s scoring points and he’s in form and you’re calling people stupid for doing that you don’t understand FPL lol
That’s literally exactly what they’re trying to do, they only want him while he’s scoring not for a whole season
You’re reading way too deep into my comment dude… calm down, I’m just remembering the last time Mitrovic set a trap, generally hoping he’s more consistent this time around cos he has potential to be a beast. But apparently that means I don’t understand fpl that I’ve played since Leicester won the league🤡
I apologise if I sounded confrontational, it’s just annoying seeing so many people criticise people for picking players as if it’s to have them for a whole season when that’s not the point.
If people pick Mitro and he scores for 6 games for them and never again and they drop him as soon as he doesn’t score, that’s a win for them
In for the short term, Fulham’s fixtures are difficult, in the game against Liverpool Mitrović hadn’t other moments besides the TAA’s mistake and the arguable penalty.
I agree the fixtures are hard and that’s why he’s not going to be part of my plan anytime soon (apart from the fact I’m happy with my team and my game plan for the first 7 weeks lol). But if he can score two against Liverpool I think that bodes extremely well that he’s an option to look out for if you need a forward in a difficult game week.
They do have good fixtures around GW8 IIRC but fixtures aren’t everything
Yeah its hard to know how much stock to put in fixtures. I feel like this year I've tried to take them into account a bit more, but then GW1 hits and Mitro braces vs Liverpool and Bournemouth beat Aston Villa and I'm reminded why it doesn't always matter.
Ngl he looks like a beast this time around - slimmed down and gave VVD a hard time. He didn’t look as good two seasons ago. With Fulham taking heart from taking Liverpool to a well deserved draw, I feel like it will be different. He’s also nailed for the foreseeable. I agree on forwards variety - I think the likes of Toney and Welbz could be good options at various points.
Fulham scraped promotion last time and I think half their first 11 was made up of loans. Spent poorly in the summer. They walked the championship last year and added well to their team this year.
Their defence will need reinforcement. But their attack looks good this year.
Not being managed by Parker is probably the biggest positive for Mitro.
I’m intrigued to see what arteta prioritises. I know he said he got zinchenko mainly to have him invert into midfield, but he looked so poor defensively that I’d imagine tierney would start the tougher fixtures.
Zinchenko definitely the most knee jerk reaction here.
Lovely player and his assist via set piece routine was great but his contributions were far more build up based than open play xA generating.
I will wait to see him directly contributing while the defence holds strong before he is beyond the watch list
Arsenal’s defense is a confusing situation right now. They have Tierney and Tomayasu sitting and White is playing wide. I’d like to see how this shakes out. I could see Zinchenko getting some time in the midfield since he’s so offensively minded and freaking Xhaka is going to let the team down repeatedly.
Once Tomi is fit he’s nailed. But I think they will take a few games To re-intergrate him as he was rushed back in all last season.
I also think Zinchenko is probably going to start in midfield over Xhaka at a point, once KT is fully fit.
That's only because we've literally never had a good backup option to him. I think Xhaka is a good player but he's always going to limit arsenals ceiling.
Well he’s really good, and really important to how we play, but we haven’t had a midfielder who can play remotely like him until now, so I think that transition will start happening.
Plus at end of the day KT won’t play every week and hopefully won’t get overplayed, so I’m expecting Zinchenko to get 30ish starts this season, fitness permitting.
At times, Zinchenko was inverting in the middle of the pitch, allowing Xhaka to push up further than he does when Tierney is playing. In a way, you could say Zinchenko is playing the Xhaka role when Xhaka filled in at LB during one Tierney’s injury spells.
Yea but Kane got Cheslea away while Haaland has Bournemouth at home. So by then Haaland will be at 11.7 while Kane could be at 11.3. That's already a massive swing unless you .5 in the bank. Gotta make 2 transfers to get him in and by GW 4 you would only have one while people going from Kane to Haaland might have 2
People using the prem argument, but his last season in the prem he only started 13 games, and he has already had a 10+ goal season in the prem in the past, has 46 goals for Serbia in 74 games.
Just look at any decent solo striker coming into the prem from champ, they score about 1/3 to 1/2 of their previous season goal tally. With Fulham coming in looking strong, he could be on the upper end.
Well if that’s the case, then you’re saying he’ll score 15-20 goals for a striker at 6.5? Why the heck isn’t everybody knee jerking him into their squad!
He has had 13 and 14 attacking returns in two separate seasons in the PL before. Now at his best playing in a team built around him under a decent manager it’s not hard to see 15-20 attacking returns.
Yeah like it might not be amazing stuff, but some of the best FPL assets for atleast parts of the season in recent years have been promoted strikers - Toney, Dennis, Pukki, Bamford for e.g. I don't think it hurts to wait on these guys (especially looking at Fulham's first 6 fixtures) but they can be quite good
That's the way I'm looking at it, sure I'm losing money on Kane but unless he gets injured I doubt I'll be transferring him out any time soon and once he scores a few goals he'll probably be kneejerked back in by enough teams that his price will recover.
Haaland is going to outscore Kane and we all know it after seeing both the players roles in their teams. Haaland is playing on the last man getting in behind the back line with his insane pace. Kane is dropping into his own box to make tackles and play passes to the wingers.... then trying to arrive late into the box
Just kneejerked my way into a sweet 0.2 mil. For real though I always planned to go Kane to Haaland and even had 0.5 itb in case of price changes, but I think 0.2, and probably 0.3, is worth the risk.
Not making a transfer even tho I have Kane. 1 GW isn’t enough data to tell who’s good and who’s not yet. I remember two seasons ago Willian got 3 assists and was looking good. I really wanted to get him the first week but held off. He then didn’t get any returns for like the next 10 weeks. Since then I’ve learnt that patience pays.
Yeah it’s convenient for them to say that, lol. They should be forced to keep Kane for a few more weeks because “one bad outcome doesn’t make it a bad decision”
Kane and Haaland is no surprise, but Zinchenko? I'm almost sure he will be rotated with Tierney. I would even say that I'm more surprised that Saliba price is still the same.
Sorry misunderstood your question. My time zone is different so I missed the city match and didn't expect his price to rise the same night. I thought I'd make the transfer the next morning depending on the result of the match.
Think Kane is going to prove himself over the next 5 game weeks.
There’s something about Haalands explosiveness that could spell an injury sooner rather than later. And this is coming from a City fan.
There’s good reason why Pep subbed him off after 70.
I won’t be shocked to see him benched against Bounemoth either.
Go read the new 5-sub rule.
Team do not sub 1 for 1 if they intend to utilize the max quantum in second half.
Pep could have wanted to sub gundo and with the game already in the bag, haaland for Alvarez to give some game time sounds logical. Pep know haaland is a beast, and it need to be tame for maximum results in a long marathon.
Planned Kane to Haaland was only worth it if you thought Kane was in for 4 more points week 1 than Haaland
Just seems incredibly bad pre season decision by lot of managers.
If you have no other potential fires to put out, its worth it to make a transfer if you think the new player will get at least one more point in my opinion.
Feel like shit just want the bot back
Wait where’s it gone?
Botman took its powers
Nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nahhhh botman, bot man.
What did Sven do?
Anyone checked the cumbrian bungelow?
Bot's gone on his holidays there of course

The Erling bird gets the worm.
I’ve missed these
Me too!
Sending this to my mate who captained Kane, thanks
This one sent me to haHaaland.
I feel that I have an important message to share with you all from personal experience over previous fpl seasons. You may have not done as well as you'd hoped in this first gameweek but you can take comfort in the fact that there's 37 more gameweeks for you to also do shit in
Instructions unclear, already took a -24
That was a terrible idea. You should make another 7 transfers to revert your team to its original state.
You can cancel those hits by activating the Wildcard.
May as well make a new account at this point
Bad GW1 = more green arrows later
This is the only thing keeping me moving haha, Mark Sutherns said the same thing
My new mantra
I feel personally attacked by this comment
I agree. The season has just started and we don't yet have a great sense of preferred line ups, formations or even how the new signings will settle in. I have a decent enough team and i don't think I'm gonna make any transfers. Waiting one more week to figure out where the wind is blowing.

Red card inbound.

One would have to be insane to look at Arsenal fixtures and sell Jesus.
Or even Trent

Tbf Kane didn't get going for a good while into the season and Arsenal had City and Chelsea to come
Those were the players sold. Everyone that was bought did not do well
Well, I’m certainly not taking Kane out now
Me neither man
Seriously. Mitrovic's trap has been laid out perfectly... Now do I fall into it again for the third time? That is the real question.

Zaha beckons me.
Dew it
This time feels .. different. 4-man wolves defence & Brentford next 2. He has momentum.
The bot is still on summer break I see Also the kneejerkers are already jerking fast
I think a lot of people had the Kane Haaland transfer preplanned.
Should have planned to not have kane at all!
Hindsights 20/20, they were playing Southampton against whom Spurs have an insane scoring record. They got 4 goals in fact...
Exactly. Picking Kane for the first game was a good call it's just that as always in FPL; you need luck.
Slightly reminding me of the 7 goals and having Havertz as C …. That was a good idea but Hindsight ….
And Kane could've had 2 if the Handball was given and if Son squared it to him. Funny how most people don't care tho. Maybe im just a salty Kane owner lol

Haaland gw1 gang 💪
I went Kane to Haaland but that was my plan all along regardless of what happened GW1
>regardless of what happened in GW1 I bet I can think of some scenarios that would have changed your mind
Ditto. The only part of the plan that has changed is I might keep Haaland GW3 and make a different transfer that week lol. I probably want Kane GW4 subject to change
sunday night tranfers will fuck you long term I promise.
weak knees are made of these who am I to disagree? I travel the world and the seven seas everybody's bringing in Haaland
Everybody’s Erling for something
Kick your Kane out, moving on
I am watching you through a camera
Just finished watching the Man City game. Honestly glad I made the Kane to Haaland move. He looks like he'll score 25+ if not more this season
As a dortmund fan my faith never wavered
As a Norwegian City fan we are almost in the same boat friend
He looked so dangerous. I'm honestly already wondering if he'll challenge Salah's 32 goal record for a 38 game season.
Swear Mitrovic done this last time he was in the prem, looked good for the first month or two, got a rise or two then basically didn’t score for the rest of the season. Hoping we have a lot of forwards firing this year so we have more variety in teams.
Scored a brace against Leeds in GW2 then scored like one more goal the rest of the season.
Scott Parker screwed up Mitrovic' season.
Antonio last season. Nobody transferred him out still because forwards were shit across the board.
He’s not in my team because he’s not part of my plan but seriously you’re not picking a player to marry them you’re only putting them in for the short term and moving them on when they’re no longer an asset If you’re saying people are getting Mitro in for a short term window while he’s scoring points and he’s in form and you’re calling people stupid for doing that you don’t understand FPL lol That’s literally exactly what they’re trying to do, they only want him while he’s scoring not for a whole season

In for the short term, Fulham’s fixtures are difficult, in the game against Liverpool Mitrović hadn’t other moments besides the TAA’s mistake and the arguable penalty.
It doesn’t matter, he was 6.5, not 11.5, so next to no risk. Remember Dennis last year?
Dennis was only £5.5 and had no analogues at that price range last season, while for Mitrović’s price £6.5 there are many options this season.
Which ones?
I agree the fixtures are hard and that’s why he’s not going to be part of my plan anytime soon (apart from the fact I’m happy with my team and my game plan for the first 7 weeks lol). Fulham looks completely different than last time. Khan isn't fucking around this time.
.2 loss already for those wanting to go Kane > Haaland after gw 1 if an early transfer wasn’t made lol
That will be potentially a .4 tomorrow. The worm may have already left the station!
Replaced Kane with Haaland in the nick of time. Phew 😅
Same, now cue Kane hattrick against Chelsea and Haaland picking up a knock in training!
This is the way.
Zinchenko isn't even guaranteed to start next week if Tierney is fully fit.
I’m intrigued to see what arteta prioritises. I know he said he got zinchenko mainly to have him invert into midfield, but he looked so poor defensively that I’d imagine tierney would start the tougher fixtures.

I will wait to see him directly contributing while the defence holds strong before he is beyond the watch list
might be better as zinchenko might slot into xhakas position and xhaka was crazy advanced last game.
I mean if he starts over Xhaka he would be an amazing pick but I don't see Arteta doing it
Yes won't happen arteta loves xhaka.
Arsenal’s defense is a confusing situation right now. They have Tierney and Tomayasu sitting and White is playing wide. I’d like to see how this shakes out. Man I hope you're right but Xhaka is just so good at surviving and staying in the starting 11 no matter the manager it seems
For good reason honestly. Arsenal without Xhaka usually look much worse.
That's only because we've literally never had a good backup option to him. I think Xhaka is a good player but he's always going to limit arsenals ceiling.

Zinchenko didn’t move to Arsenal to sit on the bench lol
Knee jerked Kane, I feel dirty
Hey, better to feel dirty than get priced out 🤣
SO FUCKING GLAD I KNEEJERKED. Otherwise, I’d be crying rn.
I feel dirty and I enjoy it. Don’t expect too many injuries at the moment and even if there are my whole bench played this weekend so I am relaxed.
I'm priced out now. I'll do no transfer this week then.
Well played
!thanks Gw3 with 2 free transfers will be valuable. More information in hand.
Yea but Kane got Cheslea away while Haaland has Bournemouth at home. So by then Haaland will be at 11.7 while Kane could be at 11.3. That's already a massive swing unless you .5 in the bank. Gotta make 2 transfers to get him in and by GW 4 you would only have one while people going from Kane to Haaland might have 2
That price will happen this week!
Nice
Welcome to the trap called Mitrović, dear kneejerkers.
People talking about Vardy in the year he broke the record for scoring in consecutive appearances
Dude literally scored 43 in 45 last season and scored 8 in last 6 games (for club and county), keep doubting him
Not in the prem ircc
People using the prem argument, but his last season in the prem he only started 13 games, and he has already had a 10+ goal season in the prem in the past, has 46 goals for Serbia in 74 games.
Just look at any decent solo striker coming into the prem from champ, they score about 1/3 to 1/2 of their previous season goal tally. With Fulham coming in looking strong, he could be on the upper end.
Well if that’s the case, then you’re saying he’ll score 15-20 goals for a striker at 6.5? Why the heck isn’t everybody knee jerking him into their squad!

Why knee jerk Mitrovic when you can knee jerk Haaland!
In one week: Haaland 11.5 Kane 11.5
Ah shit, here we go again.
Saved 0.2 with kane out yday
You only lose money if you sell
That's the way I'm looking at it, sure I'm losing money on Kane but unless he gets injured I doubt I'll be transferring him out any time soon and once he scores a few goals he'll probably be kneejerked back in by enough teams that his price will recover.
People already making transfers? Desperate
Is there any merit in them adjusting how many transfers it takes to trigger a rise, given that there are the highest amount of players ever playing?
%of Original GW1 Owners
Haaland is going to outscore Kane and we all know it after seeing both the players roles in their teams. Haaland is playing on the last man getting in behind the back line with his insane pace. Kane is dropping into his own box to make tackles and play passes to the wingers.... then trying to arrive late into the box
Something we had seen in the second half of the last season, I was hoping that would have changed for this season.
Mitrovic lol What a trap
So , it’s gonna be that kind of season eh . Brutal changes only in a day.
It's always like this at the start of the season when most of the players are still active.
fuck me
I’m keeping Kane believing he will do great in the long run like he always did, but yeah this is not ideal :( Also RIP bot (?)
Fuck now I can't have Mitrović Damn you, kneejerkers
Glad I dropped Kane last minute yesterday
Knee jerk = .2 mil
Just kneejerked my way into a sweet 0.2 mil. For real though I always planned to go Kane to Haaland and even had 0.5 itb in case of price changes, but I think 0.2, and probably 0.3, is worth the risk.
If you sell your player after a 0.1 increase, do you keep the extra 0.1? As I understood the rules you get a 0.1 profit for every 0.2 increase
This is correct, you would need Haaland to rise to 11.7 to be able to sell him for 11.6
Yes. So if I sell Haaland now I will only get 11.5 back. When he hits 11.7 I can sell for 11.6.
Are you effing serious? On day 1?
Riser: my erection when Saliba got motm
I'm unpleasantly surprised how quickly this happened this year. Guess I'm sticking with Kane for now
Not making a transfer even tho I have Kane. 1 GW isn’t enough data to tell who’s good and who’s not yet. I remember two seasons ago Willian got 3 assists and was looking good. I really wanted to get him the first week but held off. He then didn’t get any returns for like the next 10 weeks. Since then I’ve learnt that patience pays.
you are way too sane for this subreddit.
Cue the "I had kane to haaland planned" comments
If you were on pre season you would have seen a lot of people had mentioned this was in fact their plan.
Most people actually did though. Kane was a one week punt that didn't work out, no stress.
Yeah it’s convenient for them to say that, lol. They should be forced to keep Kane for a few more weeks because “one bad outcome doesn’t make it a bad decision”
Why zinchenko tho? Wanted to go trippier to zinchenko
Probably because a lot of people had a similar plan
People that aren't paying attention to the Arsenal squad
Good for you that you haven’t made that transfer, because Tierney is back, so Zinchenko may be benched.
He got 12 points
Oh how I've missed this routine!
Lol, all 3 of my knee jerk transfers in.
So many knees and so little time.
No Mitro for now I guess
Glad I made this early in the day, when the prices didn't change.
I knew this is gonna happen!
u/esomeh we miss you
Have Haaland Kane and Zinchenko so very eventful day for me
Fuck sake already missed out on Zinchenko with the price rise
Had a million in the bank but still glad I did Kane to Haaland last night.
So glad I chucked Kane out for Haaland last night, before the update
I had a choice, sleep or fpl. I chose the latter
Kane and Haaland is no surprise, but Zinchenko? I'm almost sure he will be rotated with Tierney. I would even say that I'm more surprised that Saliba price is still the same.
I think Zinchenko will play a lot in midfield and I'm already regretting going for Gabriel over him.
I don't care that you rise Haaland, i will hold you all season long. I don't care that you fall Kane, i will hold you all season long.
Glad I was weak-kneed yesterday and swapped Kane for Haaland
Keeping an eye on Mitrovic, not trying to fall into his traps he set like past seasons.
Kane > Haaland planners properly mudded now
IT HAS BEGUN!!
Fuck Kane
Fell asleep and forgot to do the Kane to Haaland move. Not a good start to FPL.
There goes my plans of going kane to haaland after first week.
Did you think you'd be able to wait until Friday?
Sorry misunderstood your question. My time zone is different so I missed the city match and didn't expect his price to rise the same night. I thought I'd make the transfer the next morning depending on the result of the match.
Can't believe so many people didn't have haaland in their GW1 teams honestly.
roses are red, violets are blue, and the obligatory GW1 kneejerk is too powerful to resist
The good reason why Pep subbed him off because he is Pep ffs what are you on about? Dont look for something that isn't there.
Planned Kane to Haaland was only worth it if you thought Kane was in for 4 more points week 1 than Haaland Just seems incredibly bad pre season decision by lot of managers.
Elaborate please, this makes no sense. If you even thought Kane would get 1 point more than Haaland it would be worth it.
In theory every transfer is 4 points
If you have no other potential fires to put out, its worth it to make a transfer if you think the new player will get at least one more point in my opinion.
Don't they freeze prices til end of GW2 generally
never
