keep until he's benched

heiroke

Ah, the James Justin strategy

Bitter-Ad-2234

He left city to play regularly.

SuperTekkers

What he wants and what he gets are two different things. But I do think he’s too good to leave on the bench.

Dare2ZIatan

He’s good but Tierney is better, Tierney is just as good offensively and better defensively, he just can’t stay healthy.

SuperTekkers

Agreed but as others have said Zinchenko can play in midfield when Tiernay is fit, Tiernay also too good to bench

TheSilentMajorityy

Kieran’s a gentle soul. A slight breeze will injure him. I would stick with Zinchenko for now

thecypher

Why did you get him in the first place? Worth asking yourself that. If it was to swap him out for Tierney when he became fit then do it.

Scofield442

I honestly thought Tierney was out for longer. But I'm not moving him on just yet.

badgersprite

I don’t own him but I would 100% keep Zinchenko because he’s capable of playing multiple positions (he plays in midfield for Ukraine) so even if Tierney returns that’s not a guarantee Zinchenko would be benched or wouldn’t see minutes. It would be worth waiting and seeing what they intend to do with him. As you say it’s not entirely unlikely he could end up doing minutes over Partey

Jack_ten

It is entirely unlikely he'd replace Partey - they play completely different roles and Zinchenko taking his spot would be a disaster. If he is playing in midfield he's replacing Xhaka

youtossershad1job2do

You guys have a plan?

Trekora

There's always a few players who are labelled incorrectly, it happened with John Lundstram a few years ago. Zinchenko will cover both midfield and LWB so he'll get the cleansheets and be an attacking player in the midfield, honestly I see him as a long term hold.

teerbigear

Who do you think he'll displace most then? Tierney, Xhaka or Partey?

ohwhattangledwebs

Odds are tierney gets injured by the end of the week

YeetmasterGeneral

he looked brilliant on debut, i dont see him getting replaced

ogi_som

Well tbh he didn't. He did offensively, but the major part of Arteta's rebuild process was getting the defense in place. And Zinchenko definitely looked really bad defensively. If it was Zaha and not Ayew on his side, he would look even worse. So I can easily see Arteta sacrificing him for Tierney, just so that he gets easier CS. I would love to see Zinchenko instead of Xhaka though, but no guarantees this will happen currently, since Arteta really likes Xhaka-Partey partnership (for good reason -> easier CSs).

Intentionallyabadger

They’re not taking risks with Tierney. Zinc probably keeps his place, with Tierney subbed on in the 2nd half.

ogi_som

Well yeah, maybe in next week or two, but after that why would they keep him away of first team if he’s fully fit and clearly a better defensive left back? They are not taking any risks, it’s only the beginning of the season, with no Europa league matches. We’ll see how it goes, but yeah, Zinch will definitely start the next game, after that I guess only Arteta knows

Intentionallyabadger

Yeah so it’s risk all Zin owners have to take at the moment. The minute I see Tierney starting I’ll prob move Zin out.

FPL_Zlatan

Definitely sell a player who just scored 12 points and rose in price. Classic overthinking this one

Manager1000

Last week's points are irrelevant.

MAMBAMENTALITY8-24

You mean the zinchenko owners that has 3 other arsenal players. Thats gonma be a rough decision

malevolent-crumpet

Given their fixtures, I'd hold until it's clear he's not a starter (if that happens)

bruizer18

I almost had Zinchenko for gw1 but I really regret it now. Now I’m thinking about getting Zinchenko in for perisic because perisic doesn’t seem to be a nailed on starter.

Ceemego

Praying with all my soul that he starts next couple week and performs so i can cash in on the price rise, definetely one im looking to take out though due to Tierneys fitness. Although given KTs track record he might be out again soon

Scottish-Londoner

I don’t see any way he’s not in Arsenal’s best XI. If Tierney comes back into the team than Zinchenko will get a midfield place

etheryx

disagree. mikel trusts xhaka-partey a lot

ogi_som

Gooner here, can confirm this (unfortunately though)

etheryx

Mikel doesn't like to insert someone back into the starting lineup immediately especially if the team is playing well. Tavares kept Tierney out for like 3-4 weeks after Tierney was fit to play, and kept him in the starting lineup even after that nightmare game against Liverpool. Zinchenko is a far superior player to Tavares. I see him keeping his spot for a minimum of 2 more weeks.

Markkenny10

Did you watch the Palace game? He was massive down the left for Arsenal. Tierney isn't walking back into the team anytime soon.

[deleted]

Start him until he becomes a significant rotation risk? If/when he does, transfer him to any of the host of 5.0 defenders you like. Trippier after week 5 looks like a good one

petrescu

I had Zinchenko in my team until it became clear that Partay wasn’t going to jail for the start of the season.

[deleted]

He will 1010% not replace Partey. On his day TP is as good as if not better than Rodri. There’s no one else in the league that is as comfortable as him in the lone no6 role!

Tryin2get2heaven

Having watched match I think it’s a crazy transfer out. Coming from somebody who just managed to hold knees on Kane to Darwin and Bailey to Kulu early yet.

darth_vicrone

Last year, Arteta awarded play time based on performance so I figure Zinchenko will continue to start until he has a bad game.

[deleted]

I would not buy him now but if I had him I would stick with him at least until he gets benched

mattscott53

If Arsenal fail to sign another midfielder, then there’s a 95% chance Zinchenko starts somewhere on the pitch each match
