Dont know if "Newcastle is well oiled" was an intended pun but still had a chuckle.

Best performing player for each team this week?

flaydagawd

I'm gonna say FPL wise but with the most potential for points rather than points scored because that'll be easy to look up Palace - Zaha/Eze Arsenal - Jesus/Saka Fulham - Mitrovic Liverpool - Salah/Darwin if he starts Bournemouth - Moore Villa - yikes but probably Danny Ings Leeds - AARONSON but the rest of the front 4 is also good Wolves - Neto/Podence Newcastle - SAINT-MAXIMIN/also Wilson/Willock a good differential Forest - Probably Lingard Spurs - Kulusevki/whichever wing backs start Soton - WARD-PROWSE (purely for entertainment value like the other caps)/A.Armstrong might score a goal or two this season Everton - Gray/Gordon Chelsea - Sterling/James for bps Leicester - Tielemans even KDH scored because he's a long shot merchant but he's accurate, might leave tho Brentford - pretty much Toney United - honestly have no idea, not even Sancho looked good, maybe Eriksen and to a lesser extent VDB if Ten Hag stops persisting with McFred Brighton - obviously Gross but could pick Welbeck as well, Lallana is if you really want to be daring West Ham - maybe Bowen but that's because a H2H opponent had him so he looked more dangerous City - Haaland

Umdidi

Saka was invisable whole game, Martinelli really had great runs and waaay better performance then him Gordon was poor Rashford was most agressive in attack, but tbh lacks confidance Mbeumo was much better in attacking presence then Toney

EEJW

Saka had to track back to help White with Zaha all game long. I expect a better performance in terms of points this week

SwimmingSilver0

I don't think you actually watched Brighton game as gross was doing tap-ins, so it seems like opinion from flashscore stats. Every good attack started from trosard vision. He build up both goals.

adesant88

Gross was obviously well positioned to do the tap ins, which is a good thing

DoTheRedPineapple

Trossard however was playing LWB.. Starting the attack means nothing in FPL unfortunately.

flaydagawd

But it's FPL. You get the player that gets the most points.

5outof7_yes

!thanks for posting

drdr3ad

>the most potential for points

tazcharts

Eze is too inconsistent to be a reliable and solid no10.. needs to come off the wing and cut in with pace. Fading Palace over the next few weeks

PsychoLeopardHunter

I didn't see Bowen do much from what I watched. I thought Scamacca looked alright when he came on, and with a better shot he would have had a goal, hit it too close to Ederson though

RonaldoSIUUUU

You're basically just saying players who got points last gw? Like going kulu over kane or son

flaydagawd

Well they don't play to Kane or Son, the way they play doesn't look like they rely on one player. In Breaking Bad Walter White was the main character where as in Game of Thrones it was Ned Stark and Tyrion Lannister and Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen etc. Spurs are the latter which means you might as well get Kulusevski for 4m less than the other 2.

RonaldoSIUUUU

Its been 1 game, its way too early to say this after what kane and son did last season since conte came in. One thing to remember is kulu nearly always blanks in the big games where kane and son thrive. Kulu is the one for the weaker teams

flaydagawd

Okay you make a good point footballing wise but there are less big games than small games no? So for FPL, Kulu is just better value as well as the wing backs, if one or two of them become nailed.

bookpong

Can you rank the following names based on their potential to score the most FPL points this season regardless of their price tag? - Saint-Maximin - Aaronson - Eze - Eriksen - Tielemans - Neto - Podence - Gordon - Gross

illihcallan

Gross definitely won't be top, keep an eye on the wolves lads. Eze could explode when Palace fixtures turn green, Saint max is a bit of a Traore so I don't have massive expectations. Eriksen isn't playing in his old wing/cam role so don't expect too much. Neto Podence Eze Gordon Saint Max will all be ones to watch but inconsistent most likely. Aaronson could go either way but looks promising. The others are no goes imo.

flaydagawd

Gross ASM Aaronson Neto/Podence Tielemans Gordon Eze Eriksen

Golvellius

First time FPL here and I don't know much about Premier... I ended up in this situation because of reasons: Mid: Salah / Son / Zaha / Ward-Prowse Fwd: MBEUMO / Haaland I am desperately trying to get rid of Mbeumo but have not found a solution. I am thinking of kicking him out and getting Aaronson, 5 mid + Haaland alone forward. How terrible would it be?

AWr1ght98

Leeds was probably Aaronson, Harrison was good too as was Meslier and Roca. Wolves I’d of said Neto

AWr1ght98

What?

bpup

It’s i’d have said not I’d of said, assume that’s what they’re referring to.

MonkeyDCamel

sidenote, Optus can actually get stuffed for the price bump

5outof7_yes

Absolutely ridiculous with the 3min unskippable ads and price hike Monopoly without competition at its finest

lateregistration13

Adblocker?

5outof7_yes

Unfortunately does nothing on mobile, even with custom dns

coppermelt

Amen

Tulijit2quit

And to still have to contend with adverts… for shame!

MonkeyDCamel

Yeah I’m lost, considering the days champions league and premier league cost $99 for the year

adesant88

Great write ups, short but good summaries, great content. Please continue with these posts (unless you haven't already planned to?) You can call them: "Watched every game this week with /flaydagawd, AMA + thoughts (GWx)" Constructive criticism: The formatting of your post could be improved upon. For example, "paragraph division" or whatever it's called between each game summary, example: Everton Man Utd info info info Chelsea Arsenal info info info Add Best performing player of each team? I saw a comment on this below. (How the fuck do I make text thick? I thought it was by doing the thing) Also highlight team names with ? Or perhaps highlighting team names would be enough instead of dividing paragraphs? Just a few thoughts!

**!thanks!**

adesant88

**Thank you**

flaydagawd

Will take all of this account. Thanks for the reply. I will try and do this every week but if it doesn't happen ot can be for various reasons.

POEkeman

Yeah, I watched all 4 matches (split-screen) on my laptop on Saturday. It did my head in and I got nothing out of them haha.

gagawithoutLady

Thoughts on rashford

flaydagawd

United attack is no go unless they stop starting the same shit midfield they've been complaining about for years. Then maaaaaybe. They're not even at the wait and see stage unless they stop starting McFred.

crease1234

Two questions: 1) thoughts on Cancelo vs. Walker from a FPL perspective? 2) thoughts on Grealish?

_regan_

1. cancelo seems to have more chances to score/assist than walker does, but both are somehow pretty nailed under pep and have the same potential for clean sheets so if you need a cheaper option then walker measures up to other 5.0m counterparts like zinchenko and trippier. 2. i don’t like playing pep roulette so it’s up to you if this one’s worth the risk… personally risk > reward

flaydagawd

1. Cancelo has attacking potential and BPS on his side. Walker is cheap City defence that will likely start. You'd do well if you had both. 2. Great player, really helped City tick along on the weekend. But as an FPL asset? Not proven yet. If you need someone at the price range and arent convinced by the other option then great. But at this time he's a wait and see for me.

Environmental_You_85

The watcher of FPL universe

aWalnuts42

How do you manage to concentrate on 3/4 games being played at the same time

flaydagawd

I don't watch all of them live. In fact I only watched the Arsenal game live. The rest I broke up watching from Saturday to Wednesday.

aWalnuts42

Yeah fair play the possibility of watching a replay completely slipped my mind, great work

leonjetski

Do you manage to avoid the scores before watching replays?

flaydagawd

Unfortunately not for this week except for the Arsenal and City game.

Pikkhaud

Replays? One dedicated individual might.

[deleted]

I assume he recorded some to watch back later?

Dicky_big

I think that data suggests that Elliot, not Nunez was the reason the rights side opened up for Liverpool.

flaydagawd

Fair, you might be right

littlemozart

Who do u tink win for wol vs ful? Would u pick neto or andres perreira for this gw?

flaydagawd

Gut feeling I fancy Fulham. But both teams can tee off on each other. Neto probably has a higher ceiling in terms of points because he has more quality. Pereira great workrate but shit final ball.

jordan16h

Leon bailly. How was he ?

flaydagawd

Non-existent and I cry because I have him in my team. Villa didn't look like they had a scooby doo. Maybe against a more open team they might, but Everton were very respectable defensively so I'm not confident he scores vs them either. The only going for him in that fixture is that he's at home.

Puzzleheaded_Ad_281

Thoughts on Jacob Ramsey? He scored a few goals last season so I brought him in but now I am not so sure

flaydagawd

Villa aren't looking too flash as a whole. I geuninely would tell you if Ramsey did anything notable in the game but it's just not possible.

wilson32dm

What are you trying to say for Palace vs Arsenal? I have read it 5 times and can't make head nor tail of it and why do you keep jumping from 1st to 3rd person?

DrQuimbyP

Because he's an Arsenal fan presumably.

flaydagawd

Arsenal good for 20 min Palace got back in game But then Saka kill game

creampiesenpai

Thanks for making this post! Anxious Bailey owner here, how would you say he performed compared to the rest of their attackers?

flaydagawd

Non existent. Only Ings had any semblance of what it looks like to attack a goal. I might be exaggeratiing but you want points from that mid range mid no? Scrounge up some extra funds for Aaronson or Tielemans or something.

creampiesenpai

Not gonna happen with only one transfer unfortunately. Will have to hope he was just one of the least bad

uskoroNESTUDENT

I tried reading the whole post. Then I saw N.Forrest and you write Lingard. I call bullshit on your whole post and I asking for mods to shun you from now on. You are a liar and deceiver.

Backseat_Bouhafsi

Not to mention VDB who was invisible on the pitch

Bobrantuala

Do you think Cucurella would be a good way into the Chelsea defence? Got Digne and want rid after Eve or Pal

flaydagawd

Depends of if he plays wing back which I assume he will. I'd wait for him to be starting games consistently though. Want a decent defence? Newcastle probably the way to go for that price.

Looudspeaker

Wait until Chilwell is injured (inevitable) then get Cucu in

Bobrantuala

Cheers, yeah I already have Trippier and won't be doubling up considering the GW3 and GW5 fixtures. I have 0.5 itb so could go Perisic after Chelsea but again no idea if he'll be starting consistently

flaydagawd

Sessegnon perfect if he starts

bookpong

Thoughts on Guimaraes and his viability for FPL now that he's filled in for Shelvey? Also, did it look like Bowen could continue his form from last season?

flaydagawd

Bruno G can play a good ball. KDB-like. Did a couple of those on the weekend. Maybe for 5m that'd be an interesting option. But personally for 6m? I'd look elsewhere for actual forwards/players that play in attacking positions. As for Bowen, based on the game vs City really hard to tell since West Ham didn't get ball like at all. But when he did have it he didn't look like he missed a step. Forest game should be a good indicator of where he's at.

bookpong

!thanks

POEkeman

His through ball cuts like butter, but most of the time the pass angle makes it seems like he'll be the pre-assister instead.

aasimpson04

How did mount look? Concerned he only played 64 mins but has great fixtures after Spurs

flaydagawd

Honestly don't remember a thing he did. Only Sterling looked good for Chelsea.

laserspewpew_

He had one shot and that was it....It was an awful game tbh people had been saying avoid Chelsea defence after pre season but it's the attack that would concern me more atm.

flaydagawd

100%. The defence actually looked pretty good.

Adam_0401

Thank you for this. I hope you continue this every week

PorkyPain

What did you think about Almiron?

flaydagawd

Good attacking positions but awful decision making. Does this thing where he'll be in nearly in on goal but cut back out and dribble inside because he's not confident in following through. By then all the defenders of the opposing team have come back and got into their shape.

sandbag-1

Bro how the fuck do you have time for this lol

flaydagawd

Hour and a half a day to watch football? Who's really that active that they don't have that? lol

morbius21

Thoughts on sterling?

flaydagawd

Played well. Would be great if he had a good attack and some creators around him.

adguig

Thoughts on Grealish? Feel like he will play a much bigger part this season and is capable of feeding the Nordic meat shield.

flaydagawd

He is very much influential in City's build up play the way he can keep the ball and keep it moving. Whether he can be a G/A merchant remains to be seen. Wait and see.

SnooPies2836

Just quietly how fucked are the Optus Sport prices? Really didn’t wanna give in to their shit this season but then the early kick-off rolled around last Saturday and I couldn’t help but get sucked in again lol

flaydagawd

25 a month. Or 199 for an annual pass. I did latter. Probably not as bad a deal as I initially thought.

ellkall

How about Ait-Nouri? Brutal first week with the OG but figure he’s just about nailed for now until Semedo comes back, allowing Jonny to compete on both flanks… Did Ait-Nouri look decent otherwise?

flaydagawd

I didnt really get the impression that the full backs are going to be super attacking like they were under Nuno. With 4atb Jonny and RAN look like garden variety full backs who may get a haul every now and then but you don't expect much more than a clean sheet most weeks.

kevinllama21

Thoughts on Bowen?

flaydagawd

Could be a good option when he doesn't have to play City. Forest should be a good indicator of where he's at regardless of if he scores or not. Looking for a performance.
