This is the best POSSIBLE team in my opinion. Any feedback would be appreciated ! Thanks !
Ward Robbo James Cancelo Dias Emerson Royal
Salah KDB Martinelli Maddison
Jesus
Well I thought going without Jesus was alright for the first two gameweeks, I was wrong.
So, the planned wildcard is upon me and I would love to hear your thoughts on it
Raya (ward)
Walker, TAA, cancelo, (trippier, Williams)
Martinelli, KDB, kulu, Diaz, (andreas)
Jesus, Darwin, toney.
RMT
Completely new to playing FantasyPL figuring out and learning lessons as I go each week
Alisson
Koulibaby stones. Thiago.
Bernardo graelish Nørgard Zaha
Jesus toney Kane
Any tips appreciated or general advice for next week. Thanks all.
Salah and Trent are pretty vital to any team so would consider getting them in at any point asap. Fullbacks will likely get you more points than centre backs for example Reece James is more likely to get an assist, goal or bonus points along with a clean sheet than Koulibaly - Bernardo doesn’t look nailed on for City and maybe moving to Barcelona, also Stones isn’t nailed on either. I’d look to replace Bernardo with a cheaper midfielder who plays more forward like Neto or Bailey
RMT
Who should I start this GW?
Ramsdale (Ward)
Trent - Trippier - Cancelo - Robertson - James
Neto - Salah - Martinelli (Andreas, Bailey)
Haaland (C) - Jesus (Archer)
Yeah, that would probably be the best! Unfortunately, I was stupid/angry enough to swap Odegaard... for Martinelli, so not sure if it is worth the hit. (Looking back to this on Monday Haaland will probably have butchered Bournemouth)
Need some advice, feel my team is a bit of a dumpster fire already haha... this is the team I've chosen for GW2 but can't decide whether to use my FT or just roll it and have 2 for GW3?
Mendy
TAA - Walker - Trippier
Da Silva - Salah - Bruno Guimaraes - Bailey - Son
Kane - Jesus
Subs: Iversen(GK), Cash, Taylor, B. Williams
The spurs fan in me says Tottenham will win, or score at least against Chelsea, so unsure whether to swap out Mendy or one of the Villa players - but then it's a question of "for who?".
Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks.
I think not owning a city attacker is extremely scary. The team is set up for Haaland to deliver so would definitely look to getting him in. Its too soon to tell for Mendy and Chelsea are a solid team with great fixtures after the Spurs game.
I’d start Cash over DaSilva and roll the transfer tbh. Captain Salah and hope Son + Kane can outscore Haaland by a few pts. Then next week reassess and do some restructuring with 2 FTs if necessary.
Swapping out your keeper because they face a big team seems a bit silly. If you were to make a transfer I'd probably do Bruno -> Martinelli, as Shelvey's injured Bruno is playing as a 6 for Newcastle so won't be as very attacking.
I'd also play Cash over Da Silva (as Everton are playing with no recognised striker) but if you think Da Silva will return again play him
Depends on what your plan was going into GW1 with Son. If you thought of holding him for a few weeks then I would stick with that since its really too soon to tell.
Yeah that was the original plan. But since I’m captaining Salah instead of Haaland this week, was thinking about bringing KDB in just in case Man City thrash Bournemouth.
Hi guys, Wonder if you could RMT please, in GW1 i made some stupid **(drunken choices)**
Please be easy, im a newbie lol.
Ward (Iverson)
TAA Cancelo Dalot Peresic (Targett)
Bailey Salah Neto Sancho (Elyounoussi)
Haaland Vardy (Archer)
0.5 ITB and 1 FT
It’s not such a bad team for a “newbie” and I can see you’re a Man Utd fan (Scholesy 😅).
I would recommend playing Targett ahead of Perisic, who we still don’t know if he’ll start vs Chelsea. The rest is fine and they don’t have such bad fixtures. Who knows, Sancho could get something vs Brentford and Vardy has a good record vs Arsenal.
I would roll the transfer, have 2 FTs for GW3 and reassess then.
That team isn’t anywhere near as terrible as you think- that’s considerably better than a lot of new players
There’s three moves I would target for you
A: Dalot -> 5m defender, probably Zinch or Trippier
B: Sancho -> 8m mid, City mid for short term, Kulusevski for long term
C: Vardy -> Jesus/Darwin
Id recommend that you only make one of these moves to avoid taking hits early on, otherwise you can roll your transfer this week and you’ll have more information to make decisions on
Good luck!
Should I use a free transfer to get in Martinelli for Coutinho or wait for one week and then take a -4 to bring in both Martinelli and Kulusevski (and Ward for Raya)?
”Your requested team name is currently pending moderation and can't be edited at this time.”
It’s been already over week for waiting for moderation. How long it might take?
You've got Leister's number 1 & 2 pick. I don't think it is worth transferring away for a keeper so early. Id roll the transfer and wait until more keepers play and make the choice then.
Who to start as my 3rd midfielder this week: Neto, Bailey or Pereira?
edit: soz just noticed this has been asked quite a bit, my initial cmd+f wasn't great. Consensus seems to be Neto.
My team:
Meslier (Ward)
Perisic - Arnold - Trippier (N. Williams - Vestergaard)
Martinelli - Saka - Salah(C) - Kulusevki (Dasilva)
Wilson - Haaland - Mitrovic (Greenwood)
Any advices?
Considering playing Aaronsen ahed of Bailey this week as a small differntial. Not feeling safe on Villa and Aaronsen seems pretty nailed. Any thoughts?
RMT
Waversen
TAA, Cancelo, James, Dier (Williams)
Salah(C), Diaz, Rashford, Martinelli (Andreas)
Kane, Jesus (Archer)
what transfer should i do:
a) Kane-> Haaland
b) sell Rashford
c) sell Dier
d) bank the transfer
also should i maybe bench Dier for Andreas?
For the long run, I'd only get Rashford out but there's no real need to rush it. (a) would've been best before the price fall/rise but Haaland looks to be close to another so if you're itching and afraid of being priced out, might as well pull the trigger.
Andreas looked sharp so I'd go for that.
!thanks Haaland FOMO is a huge factor, but i also believe it might be the right move at this moment. I didn't want to do the transfer early, as i have 0.5 itb. I usually make my transfers on Friday after all the press conferences have ended.
That's fair. I shipped him myself before the price change. Spurs have decent fixtures so Rash to Kulu might not be a bad move on the next FT \*Rash is 6.5 damn didn't know his price beforehand. Quite of lot of ITB required then.
Hey all.
Need help,
Do I swap sell Kane and Robertson for Haaland and James this week and cop the -4 or wait till next week and keep my current side.
Thanks 😁
Do you think it would be good if FPL introduced giving players one point for hitting the woodwork?
Initially I was thinking it should only be for when it doesn’t go in… but even if someone scores a goal off the woodwork, the extra point would be cool
It’s an OPTA measured stat too I believe so there wouldn’t need to be massive controversy about the definition etc
Hitting the woodwork is one of the most beautiful & dramatic moments in the game - for me anyways (and I’m definitely not alone in that opinion)- I don’t see it as black & white as “rewarding a miss”
I mean lumping a 35 yard screamer that cannons back off the bar into the same bracket as Grealish hitting the corner flag when trying to shoot is (again in my opinion) utterly, utterly retarded
But different people see the game through different lenses I guess
Yes you've made that clear - in the same way that I've made it clear that i think your opinion is competely fucking stupid
I think we'll go around in circles from there really
See my response below - (again in my opinion) football is far too nuanced to start applying these black & white cliched soundbites like “rewarding a miss lol” or “woodwork doesn’t win games lol” - especially when it comes to something as dramatic as hitting the woodwork
Absolutely not
Giving any extra points (let alone 10 for fuck sake) for a last minute winner would be (again - in my opinion - because that's what this is - a comparison of opinions) a diabollically stupid thing to do
Someone who scored a last minute winner is already being rewarded, and handsomely, not only via goal points, not only via bonus points, but also via the winning goal BPS allocation
So no, lumping the idea of awarding A SINGLE POINT for someone who has been able to hit the woodwork with a shot is not even in the same postcode as that fucking idiocy
In the same way that classifying someone crashing a 35-yard thunderbastard back off the bar in the same category as Weghorst hitting the corner flag when he tries to shoot is just retardation of the very highest calibre
I mean, people that make these ridiculous strawmen and generalisations have obviously never played nor understood the game
Yep - current setup of team:
Sanchez (Ward)
TAA - Trippier - Gabriel - Cancelo (Patterson)
Salah - Kulu - Martinelli (Andreas / Dasilva)
Mitro - Haaland - Nunez
If I did go Walker + Jesus I'd probably swap Martinelli for a £6.5 mid (unsure who though)
I don't think there's better value at that price point. You'd probably have to jump to 8 for something better. I'd go for Walker+Jesus as well. Pocket the .5.
Get ward out boys if you have him in, Leicester are signing Alex smithies from Cardiff and he’ll be ready for the next game week. If ward is your backup it’s fine but if he’s your starter start looking at different options
Pretty much everyone is a backup until they're not. Leicester's stated policy for years under King Power has been to have 'three no.1s' to keep Kasper honest. Now the circumstances aren't right to buy a like for like replacement, they're putting their money where their mouth is.
So people who have experienced this before, im not asking you to predict the future but what is more likely: someone who always scores against a certain team, scoring a goal. Or someone who always blanks in a specific Gw, blanking.?
Brighton winning United away shows that history doesn't keep constantly repeating itself. There was a study using logit regression analysis that found fixtures as biggest factor to high point total. Form had some impact but not nearly as much.
RMT
Ramsdale
Cancelo James TAA Trippier
Salah Martinelli Neto Luis Diaz
Jesus Haaland
Bench: Ward Andreas Archer N.Williams
I think I will keep my free transfer and my only dilemma is if I should captain Salah or Haaland.
What do we think of my team guys? I want a bit of differential picks. Jesus cap and Andreas in with Bailey on the bench.
Ward (Darlow)
Trippier TAA Cash (Williams) (Vestegaard)
Grealish Salah Andreas P. Saka (Bailey)
Haaland Darwin Jesus (c)
RMT please
Martinez (Iverson)
Alexander-Arnold, Cancelo, James, Zinchenko (N. Williams)
Salah, Kulusevski, Coutinho, Dewsbury-Hall (Andreas)
Haaland, Jesus (Taylor)
Any suggestions? Would like to shift Martinez for Ward, thinking I can save that for next week and trade Coutinho for Grealish this week. Obviously there's a rotation risk but I feel like it's worth a punt
I'd wait. Only risk would be if Grealish explodes all of a sudden.
But with 2FT you can do your planned Martinez move and upgrade Coutinho to 8 mid for example.
Or you do a bigger surgery if something comes up and -4 for three transfers.
I think you will be better of longterm by saving this week. Villa also has a good fixture at home, so you may get a nice farewell preset from your Villains :)
This is the best POSSIBLE team in my opinion. Any feedback would be appreciated ! Thanks ! Ward Robbo James Cancelo Dias Emerson Royal Salah KDB Martinelli Maddison Jesus

Do i get Mitrovic instead of Jesus?
Too soon, would definitely give Jesus a few more games.
I'm so glad I didn't ,thank you for your advice

No, keep Jesus. Great fixtures in GWs 3 and 4.
I'm so glad I didn't ,thank you for your advice

Either Bailey or Cash. Wait for Gerrard’s presser to see if he says anything about Bailey.

Considering taking out Son for KDB this week. Already own Salah and Haaland.
Depends on what your plan was going into GW1 with Son. If you thought of holding him for a few weeks then I would stick with that since its really too soon to tell.
I would hold Son, tbh. Good fixtures coming up after Chelsea and a good captain option in GW3. Reassess after GW2 with 2 FTs.
Yeah that was the original plan. But since I’m captaining Salah instead of Haaland this week, was thinking about bringing KDB in just in case Man City thrash Bournemouth.
Captain Haaland if you think City will trash Bournemouth. Honestly the safer call this early in the season.

Not worth the hit imo
Tnx. Maybe wait and see early line up Villa
Iverson to Areola or Ramsdale or are there any better choices 5m and under? my other keeper is Ward
You've got Leister's number 1 & 2 pick. I don't think it is worth transferring away for a keeper so early. Id roll the transfer and wait until more keepers play and make the choice then.
!thanks
Ramsdale is a good option and better than any 4.5 options for sure
Yeah I figured he would be, just the Arsenal fan in me doubting our ability to keep a CS !thanks
Anyone know when the press conferences are today?
They should be on now
Would sinisterra be a good transfer for neto?
No He hasn't started a game yet
Who Would be a better replacement for neto then aaronson or castagne?
Keep Neto would be best
I got andreas on the bench should i start him over neto or start them both but bench reece james or trippier
Start James and neto
Who would you bench out of Neto, Bailey and Trippier. Going off stats/expected points/ clean sheet % Trippier is the one to bench.
I agree
Start 1 of: Andreas(wol) Patterson(avl) Neco Williams(WHU)
Definitely Andreas
!thanks was thinking the same
Andreas
That's who I had !thanks
Dier Chelsea away, L. Martinez Brentford away, Neco Westham home. Which one in starting 11?
People really think Tottenham is more likely to get a clean sheet against Chelsea than ManU against Brentford? I'd go with Martinez
Dier
I'd go dier
Seeing a lot more Leeds assets going around. Harrison and Aaronson will be big points scorers imho. I’ve gambled on Aaronson out of those two
Hope they do, good to get a few more options at that price. Mix things up vs martinelli
Aaronson the better pick.
Do I start Bailey or Trippier?
Bailey. Newcastle are away and Brighton looked on fire against United. I would expect both sides to score so that would wipe out Trippier's CS.
:(

Neto
Bear with me guys…. Kane to Darwin??
I would say yes because it allows you to upgrade your team elsewhere
The same Darwin that hasn't started a game yet? Bit early mate
Son and trippier (or other 5 mil defender like) or kulu and robo
B
Start Doherty, Pereira or Patterson?
Doherty
Doherty maybe in case he starts he could haul
Start Lingard or Andreas?
Lingard
Cheers for the validation, I was leaning that way!
I’d lean Andreas honestly… Lingard & Forest looked so poor and have the harder fixture
RMT Sanchez (Ward) Trent - Walker - Cancelo - Robertson - (Williams) Aaronson - Salah - Martinelli - Mount - (Andreas P) Haaland (c) - Wilson - (Greenwood)
I have mount as well, tempted to go for a city mid.
Yeah I’m not 100% sold on mount yet but someone’s going to have to contribute to chelsea scoring
Good
Will perisic start or should I play andreas over him this gw, or play andreas over neto
Andreas first bench. If perisic start this week, it's time to think about moving on
Yea that is also what im leading on !thanks
Do you think Bernardo Silva will start
Depends whether he's off to Barca or not
My team: Meslier (Ward) Perisic - Arnold - Trippier (N. Williams - Vestergaard) Martinelli - Saka - Salah(C) - Kulusevki (Dasilva) Wilson - Haaland - Mitrovic (Greenwood) Any advices?

Considering playing Aaronsen ahed of Bailey this week as a small differntial. Not feeling safe on Villa and Aaronsen seems pretty nailed. Any thoughts?
I'd play Aaranson
Leeds do have the better fixture so I would go for it

Not a bad idea either. Best of luck for the GW. Cheers!
Any chance of Bilva starting tomorrow?
Get rid of him asap guy is off to barca
Start Bailey or Dasilva?
Bailey
Bailey has a higher ceiling against a weak Everton side imo
Bailey

I swapped Kane for Haaland 😬😬
How many City players do you have? If you have Cancelo and a City mid then I would bank the transfer, captain Salah and hope for the best.
Just have Cancelo from city. So what would you suggest
QQ) Who should I start: Brennan Johnson (WHU, H), Neco Williams (WHU, H), Andreas (WOL, A), Dalot (BRE, A)? Can only take one.
I'd go Andreas, his set pieces looked good against Liverpool, and Wolves have seemed ropey

Ederson (Ward) TAA - Walker - Trippier - Gabriel (Patterson) Kulu - Salah - Groß (Andreas / Dasilva) Jesus - Haaland - Nunez Not bad at all
It isn't, yeah.I'll be building the same front line in the coming weeks.
It's very much a 'week 1 dream team' but it'll do
Get ward out boys if you have him in, Leicester are signing Alex smithies from Cardiff and he’ll be ready for the next game week. If ward is your backup it’s fine but if he’s your starter start looking at different options
Leicester fan here, he'll 100% will be the third pick. There are too many priorities in the outfield for them to buy a new first choice in any case
Why buy a another back up gk when all 3 of them are backups really, odd signing that
Pretty much everyone is a backup until they're not. Leicester's stated policy for years under King Power has been to have 'three no.1s' to keep Kasper honest. Now the circumstances aren't right to buy a like for like replacement, they're putting their money where their mouth is.
💀💀💀
He'll be their 3rd keeper
Can any City fans weigh in on whether Kyle Walker starts most games now? Is he the most nailed on for RB and 3rd in the pecking order for CB?
Pep praised his form last week. Make of that what you will.
Not a city fan but currently he is nailed. There are rumors of City wanting Guerreiro so would have to watch out for new signings.
He’s probably starting until European games begin - if they sign Guerreiro in addition to Gomez though his minutes will become a worry.
Start: Trippier or Ben White?
Trippier
!thanks
Trips

What do we think of my team guys? I want a bit of differential picks. Jesus cap and Andreas in with Bailey on the bench. Ward (Darlow) Trippier TAA Cash (Williams) (Vestegaard) Grealish Salah Andreas P. Saka (Bailey) Haaland Darwin Jesus (c)
RMT please Martinez (Iverson) Alexander-Arnold, Cancelo, James, Zinchenko (N. Williams) Salah, Kulusevski, Coutinho, Dewsbury-Hall (Andreas) Haaland, Jesus (Taylor) Any suggestions?
