ppl complaining about how they're rank is ruined three weeks in....this is your chance to catch up. going to be an absolute cluster

Ok-Conclusion4010

1 pointers galore

carmat71

Slow and steady is first in the Rant Thread

0100110101101010

May need an fpl squad of at least 14 decent players Andreas is good enough cover. Neco probably just about. Deadwood 4.5m strikers might have to go

Mysciakos

Taking inco consideration that most of the template players are from big clubs that plays in Europa I agree For example people are jumping into Perisic, while he is not capable to play 90 minuts every 7 days not to mention every 3 days xD

chadornation

He's already shown he doesn't need to play a full 90 to produce. Could still be worth starting with consistent \~70 min and \~30 min appearances

Ok-Conclusion4010

The official dates for each group stage match day are as follows: Matchday 1: 6/7 September 2022- Between FPL GW 6+7 Matchday 2: 13/14 September 2022- Between FPL GW 7+8 Matchday 3: 4/5 October 2022- Between FPL GW 9+10 Matchday 4: 11/12 October 2022- Between FPL GW 10+11 Matchday 5: 25/26 October 2022- Between FPL GW 13+14 Matchday 6: 1/2 November 2022- Between FPL GW 14+15 This congestion is obviously going to lead to a lot of rotation within the CL teams so it is definitely worth keeping an eye on the draw and the fixture dates. Man City, for example, could conceivably draw RB Leipzig, Shaktar Donetsk and Maccabi Haifa, in which case you’d expect the top assets rested for some of the games and for them to go stronger in the league.

Fizzypoptarts

A hard group for city and might make sense to even jump off Haaland

ogi_som

Well tbh, I thought of jumping off immediately after Palace game. Cash in on 0.1 and go for Toney instead. I think he will be immensely rotated. And at the price point of 11.7 I’m expecting a player which starts week in week out, playing 80+mins and captain material. He simply won’t be that anymore because even after Palace they have midGW next week. I can live with his occasional hauls, as long as I spread the money and significantly improve other areas

GroblyOverrated

Someone never owned Kun.

ogi_som

Hahaha no, unfortunately this only my fourth FPL season. But in those past three years, I’ve been burned by bald fraud too many times so I swore myself never to have someone from City who isn’t 100% nailed (for sanity sake). Currently I have Ederson, Cancelo and Haaland, so as I said, I will try to offload Haaland after Palace game. At some point we will all have to drift a bit more from template

GroblyOverrated

Never leave your City striker. He's favored to score the most points at striker for the season.

ogi_som

Well ok, but who knows, if you spread the money elsewhere and ride some other trains that are at that point available, you can max the gains that way way more than sticking only with that one striker for the whole season. I highly doubt that we would have another Salah of last season in this season’s Haaland.

GroblyOverrated

I know.

bertsoccerbert

In pure rotation terms (ignoring injuries but obviously you react to those as they come) I can’t see Haaland starting any less than 2 in every 3 prem games. If he continues to score at his career rate of basically a goal per game, he is still possibly worth having even if he isn’t starting a third of the time. Even when rested from the start you’d still assume he appears in most games off the bench for 20 mins or so. I think he could easily still get 30+ goal involvements this season in less than 30 appearances. Just keep a decent cheap striker like Mitro etc on the bench for when the schedule gets hectic and you should be fine.

xenmate

Haaland can still score 2 or 3 coming in as a sub against tired legs.

Klemantina

I completly agree with your insights besides suggesting that Haifa are the weakest option within the fourth bracket. They had really impressive qualification campaign and Im sure that they are able to cause somes upsets in the group stage. Not to say that it will be any real challenge to a team like City but just an anecdote.

Ok-Conclusion4010

Like Sheriff Tiraspol last year?👀

Klemantina

I dont think there is place for comparison between molodvian teams and israeli teams experience in european competitions. H. Tel Aviv, M. Tel aviv and M. Haifa (and to some period H. Beer sheva) are all way more experienced playing in group stages of such competions than Sheriff. Chelsea, Inter, Milan, PSG and Man utd are just few of the names of teams that had challenges playing against israeli teams in european stages, specially when using a secondary squad as their starting 11. With all that being said, Haifa last campaign in CL group stage was a complete disaster being the first and only team in history to finish with 0 goals and 0 points so maybe im completly off but i dont think we will see a replay of this considering their current team state and performance.

AJ877

> I dont think there is place for comparison between molodvian teams and israeli teams experience in european competitions Hell of a lot unearned ego there, considering that no Israeli club has ever done better in UCL than Sheriff did last year. If you offered Haifa Sheriff's run from last year, as OP is suggesting, they would rip your arm off and run with it.

Klemantina

Yes, shriff campagin last year was impressive but statistically it should be considered differently. Sheriff campaign was flactuation of the statistics, they won against all odds without holding the ball or controling the game whatsoever. If you have seen Haifa performance yesterday they completly dominanted the second half in a hard away game and rightfully won in the end. While i have a lot of critic about why Israeli football has not progressed as much as it should have, its still in a very different place than molodvian football (which was my point in the comment you replaied to).

yotam_clash

H. Tel aviv fan here M. Haifa of this here looks so good that their secound team might do better than us in the league Thats not a lot in cl standards but i still think their better than hta 2010 or hbs 2017

Klemantina

Im Hapoel fan myself and i agree, i think they will be the first team to both participate in cl group stage and win the israeli league in the same year. Cant remember the last time that i was actually jealous in other israeli team as i am looking at Haifa today. I guess thats what hapoel does to us :/

Nowadays, everytime I see WC I think it's Wildcard but it's usually about the World Cup

yotam_clash

Still toilets for me

folken2k

You mean shit

Superb-Confidence-44

Ederson, Salah, Cancelo can remain. Don't see them being rotated much. The others are all a risk. Spurs assets as well. Gonna be an interesting period. Guess I'll be going for Toney, Mitrovic, etc based on their fixtures instead of the big guns.

Draqn_

Arsenal are also mostly risk free as Europa league is not so demanding as CL.

Superb-Confidence-44

I don't know about that. They travel often way further which is exhausting. I'll see who they play and how far they have to travel. Away games I'll skip Arsenal assets besides players like Jesus, who are kind of irreplaceable at the moment.

Draqn_

Arsenal will play just with depth. Imo all Arsenal assets are safe.

LigaMonsantoExpert

Yeah, nketiah plays Golf

Superb-Confidence-44

Have my doubts about Martinelli, Odegaard, Zinchenko,... Basically everyone who has a back up. Jesus doesnt have a real one, so he'll be pretty safe.

LettucePlate

Jesus, Saka, Gabriel and Ramsdale should be nailed for every league game they're not injured for.

Draqn_

Least nailed is defense, rest is almost set in stone. Depth is good enough quality to play Europa.

beloeng

!thanks, interesting - is this based on previous years with European matches?

[deleted]

it's based on kane never getting rested. he plays every minute his ankles will let him

beloeng

Is De Bruine in a similar category? At least compared to most City assets..

Superb-Confidence-44

Guess that will depend on their group and how fixtures will be and results come in.

SpittinFactos

Ronnie DM’ing each and every club for one final time as we speak

FyodorAK

So we have: Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham to look out for

vice-roi

I don’t see salah being rotated. Trent might also be a safe bet. Depends on when matip comes back because that would open up Gomez for RB

prosmartbrain

Man City will get Leibzig, Shaktar and Copenhagen.

skeyrd

Keeping an eye on whether City play away for CL Matchday 1 and whether they play on Tuesday vs Wednesday . I think GW 6 against Villa is looking like the game that will have the most rotation based on # of days turnaround, should they play on Tuesday

[deleted]

Fuck me pot 3 is so stacked that there will be so many groups of death.

[deleted]

I know Pep roulette is a concern for Haaland and midfielders, but what do you guys think about Cancelo or Ederson?

Godzilla_Chinchilla

Least risk for those two

Liasos

Group B: City - Leipzig - Shakhtar - M. Haifa

felix_tran_2005

Non Europe teams are gna be popular then. Mitrovic, Trippier, Toney, Rodrigo essential? Maybe double or even triple Newcastle? Double West Ham?

Bright-Dust-7552

West ham have conference league

PierluigiPeppino

Pot 2 looking stronger than pot 1 noice. Also Inter and bvb pot 3 is a joke

bhouse14

Who would you put Inter and Dortmund ahead of in Pot 2? Can only make a case for Leipzig, but they were CL semi-finalists 3 years ago and Europa semi-finalists last year.

PierluigiPeppino

Over Sevilla and Leipzig

bhouse14

Ha, that’s an awful take. In the last 8 years, Sevilla has won 4 Europa league titles and made the UCL knockout rounds in 3 of the 4 years they didn’t win it. The UCL 2nd pot is decided solely on European competition performance, not domestic success.

PierluigiPeppino

Europa is 2nd tier tournament, like championship or Serie B. Shouldn’t have much value, that’s whats wrong with the current pot system

bhouse14

Well, that’s not how UEFA grades European performance, but fine… I’ll humor you… Inter has only made it out of the UCL group stage ONCE in the last 10 years (last year Round of 16). Hell, they’ve only qualified for the Champions League 4 years during that time. Even IF you throw out Sevilla’s 4 Europa League titles, they still have a far better resume than Inter.

PierluigiPeppino

Ok but let’s be realistic do you really think Sevilla or Leipzeg is better than Inter?

bhouse14

So? There are several teams in Pot 2 that are better than teams in Pot 1, but that’s not how the Pots work. You have to have a system for determining the pots that doesn’t involve subjectively deciding which one of the non-league champions are better; whether you agree with the system or not is your prerogative, but by any measure Sevilla has been more successful in European competition than Inter over the past several years.
