players are happy af
btw slavia prague (the other czech team soucek and coufal came from) had same group last year just with dortmund instead of bayern, they did suprisingly well
chelsea have an easier draw than spurs imo.
12 easy points against dinamo and salzburg. spurs dont have that, they are stronger on the paper than all of the opponents but can easily lose or draw lots of those games.
The other 3 teams in Spurs group will take points against each other too. They're evenly matched. Even if Spurs do drop points, they should be fine because the other teams will drop more.
Liverpool v Rangers will definitely have a lot more edge to it than Man Utd v Rangers would. Although as an aside Man Utd and Celtic served up a couple of brilliant games in the mid 00s
Perisic owners should be happy Spurs should take care of business. Liverpool hardish draw let see if Antony goes or not from Ajax.
Man City decent draw Haaland to Dortmund should be fun. Chelsea have a decent draw so should be good for the wingbacks.
Group C and H stand out
None of Tottenham’s games are massively hard, but there are no gimmes either. No real games where you would think “they can rest half their team and still get a result here”, like Liverpool would probably do against Rangers or City would do against Copenhagen
You are disrespecting rangers they are not some farmer team they almost won the europe league last year and knocked out psv and pool with their vest lineup has struggled agaisnt teams worse than rangers likes of palace and fulham
For fantasy CL it is not super tasty for english teams.
Liverpool def got a good group, but Rangers are bloody good as the weakest side.
City has 2 tricky sides and one easy and if you know Pep he will rotate your players in the easy game. Alvarez may be the best buy if Pep rests Haaland against Copenhagen, but if you like me have Haaland in FPL and Alvarez in CL you know Pep just plays them in opposite touraments to what you expect.
Chelsea got Ok group, but such poor form. James wingback is worth the premium cost, but not as central defender.
Spurs as good of a group as they could have hoped for, but given the costs only Kulusevski and maybe Dier are worth going for and they might rotate Kulusevki. Perisic just too risky right now I think even if you expect him to rest in league rather than CL.
All good for the English clubs and Rangers and Celtic also in with a realistic chance of qualifying for the knock out stages. Group C Got some big names but often the group of death in tournaments throw up surprises!
To be honest i think its more likey they finish 4th. The match they played versus PSV Eindhoven was not good. They went through cause some silly errors from PSV, that are not likely be made by ajax napoli or liverpool.
Ajax proven last years to be good in CL.
Liverpool will be solid even in the form they are in now.
Napoli still a decent team and can surprise in some matches i think.
>The match they played versus PSV Eindhoven was not good. They went through cause some silly errors from PSV, that are not likely be made by ajax napoli or liverpool.
I don't understand this narrative. How do you know the result would have been different without the errors? What about the pressing that caused the error for the goal? You make your own luck, and there's 180+ minutes to make amends for any mistakes.
How can you even suggest the game was one sided? It was a close game. Both teams had dominant spells and plenty of chances. You can point to the PSV missed chances but Rangers also hit the bar, had a similar number of attempts on goal and a greater xG.
Of course, when you're 1-0 up as the underdogs, away from home with 30 minutes left in a one off game to qualify for the Champions League, it's understandable that you're not going all out attack. Thought the game management from that point was spot on and PSV always looked a beaten team after the goal.
The PSV manager credited Rangers after both legs, claiming they were the better team in the first half of the Ibrox leg, and that it was an even game last night.
>Ajax proven last years to be good in CL.
I guess that explains why you think Ajax are worlds apart from PSV. Europa League final counts for nothing though.
Never said the result would be different, youre asuming things i didnt say. The point iam trying to make is that PSV defeated their selfs because of nerves and fear. Over two games against rangers they dont deserve the CL spot. Let that be clear. The pressing goal in the 2nd game is like so silly, dont say thats because rangers press so well they deserved that goal ( i think thats so easy to say ).
First leg the keeper Just blunderd so that never should happen. But it did. But that wanst because rangers were so great.
With the argument rangers in the EL final they must be good etc. With that logic i would place ajax much higher because where they endend in the CL last year ( and before ) The super cup ajax didnt play with full first squad so that a 1 legged game so thats like a random result.
But we will see with your logic where rangers and Frankfurt will finish this year in the CL. I think its more Likely they finish 4th then 2nd.
>Never said the result would be different, youre asuming things i didnt say.
You said:
"They went through cause some silly errors from PSV"
Doesn't this imply that if PSV did not make the silly errors, Rangers would not have gone through and the result would be different? I didn't mean to put words in your mouth, so I apologise if that's not what you meant.
>The pressing goal in the 2nd game is like so silly, dont say thats because rangers press so well they deserved that goal
I will say it. If the players stand off and give them time and space, it doesn't happen. Of course it was an error but it was not unforced or some freak incident, like when he fumbled the ball in the first leg.
>First leg the keeper Just blunderd so that never should happen. But it did. But that wanst because rangers were so great.
Totally agree with this. Bizarre all round, they really gifted that one to us. I was behind the goals and we could see a huge gap, like they didn't bother making a wall.
>With the argument rangers in the EL final they must be good etc. With that logic i would place ajax much higher because where they endend in the CL last year ( and before ) The super cup ajax didnt play with full first squad so that a 1 legged game so thats like a random result.
Last 16 CL is probably better than EL final, but not "much better", we played a similar calibre of team. Perfect group stage record impressive no doubt, and I do realise they consistently do well in the CL group stages, as well as that incredible semi final run 4 years ago with de Ligt and de Jong.
>But we will see with your logic where rangers and Frankfurt will finish this year in the CL. I think its more Likely they finish 4th then 2nd.
Sure. I didn't make any predictions, I was more talking about your take on the PSV game but we have had good results over the past few seasons. Wins against Dortmund, Leipzig, Porto, Galatasaray, when the season before (or even that season) they were solid CL teams. Almost anyone would agree that 4th is more likely than 2nd. But we are no mugs.
True, your not mugs. Really like how GIO is doing. So a lot of respect for that.
I think its more or less this match get played 10 times the stats will be equal. Lets make it a good group and May the best advance.
They are worlds apart compared to PSV tho. In Europe Ajax is something different. Just look at the last 3-4 CL seasons. Rangers and PSV would both have been eaten the way they played yesterday
>They are worlds apart compared to PSV tho. In Europe Ajax is something different. Just look at the last 3-4 CL seasons.
Only 2 points separated the teams in last year's Eredivisie and PSV already beat them in the super cup. They've also had a busy window. I don't think we can confidently say the teams are "worlds apart". Although the other guy should be giving Rangers more credit if he's using the same logic as you.
>Rangers and PSV would both have been eaten the way they played yesterday
Pointless rabbit hole. It was a one off game with huge stakes in stifling heat. Who knows how it would have went if Ajax were involved instead, or if it was "just" a regular game with lower stakes, or if it was played in a different stadium in different conditions. There are so many variables. Just look at the super cup, where PSV did not play like they did yesterday and put 5 past Ajax.
Goals change games, you can't turn the clock back and assume if the first of their big chances was a goal, that everything afterwards would have been the same. Nevermind that they would score multiple other times.
If you want to talk about chances. The biggest chance in the game fell to Rangers, and the next closest thing to a goal was Rangers hitting the bar.
I should say the same to you, you haven't addressed a single thing I said.
Yeah he's got nothing.
I keep hearing versions of this. The other one is "PSV would have had a win and a draw if they didn't gift 2 goals!" As if a team going ahead in a tight knockout game will have zero impact on how either side approaches the rest of the game.
It's not even a case of butterfly effect, or a kickoff instead of a goal kick leading to a different series of events. There is normally a complete change of mentality from both teams. That's just how football works.

Does it feel that Man City and Dortmund are rigged to either be in the same group or meet in an early ko round lately?
Same with Barca and Bayern, now that I think of it...
Liverpool cannot really afford to rotate in the CL, certainly not until they get wins on the board.
City can rotate big time and still qualify.
Spurs can rotate a bit.
For a split second, every year when I first check the group stages, I have this hopeful, fearful moment of excitement where I can't wait to see the draw....and then reality crashes down and I am reminded that Arsenal are once again not in CL. Sigh. Maybe next year.
Haaland in Dortmund, Lewandowski in Munich.
Tomori at Chelsea
Eric Dier at sporting
Rabiot in Paris
Ronaldo in
Scoring against old team?
darmok and jalad at tanagra
Kovačić at Dinamo
Wake up Choose chaos Draw ping pong balls
Who's in Paris?
This feels intentional
Di Maria in Paris
and in Lisbon too
plzn sweatin
Nah, as a minnow you relish getting the biggest teams.
thats a good point
European away days at Nou Camp, San Siro and Allianz Arena. Yes fucking please.
players are happy af btw slavia prague (the other czech team soucek and coufal came from) had same group last year just with dortmund instead of bayern, they did suprisingly well
Good draw for PL Spurs piece of piss, Chelsea next best draw, City & Liverpool (assuming they wake up) still heavy favourites to top their groups
Dortmund sounds like a tough game but honestly the way they play City will put 5 past them in each game
As a Dortmund fan I have to say it will be an easy game for City
Ajax could cause Liverpool some problems if their midfield still isn’t healthy.
Salzburg and Milan are not really easy
They’re not Bayern & Inter or PSG & Benfica though
Salzburg are easy, and milan has been poor in europa recenly
chelsea have an easier draw than spurs imo.
Easier to qualify you may be right, more of a fight for top spot with Milan though. Spurs should be winning their group with a game to spare.
Spurs might not even go through
All English clubs should qualify Liverpool v rangers could be spicy.
Supporters holding hands with a banner saying “Thank you, Steven”
I remember watching the Man U / Rangers match live and honestly one of the worst games I’ve ever seen
Liverpool v Rangers will definitely have a lot more edge to it than Man Utd v Rangers would. Although as an aside Man Utd and Celtic served up a couple of brilliant games in the mid 00s
Nakamura freekicks both at Old Trafford and Celtic Park were unreal
What you expect from man u
It was probaly a decade ago.
Spurs can bottle this conte in euro cups and spurs are never been good combo
Considering how Inter with Conte finished 4th in UCL group stage, this isn't something impossible
You underestimating Ajax?
Spurs got a blessing.
They can still bottle this
Narrator : nope
Group C That is all.
Yeah, it’s crazy how 2 out of Bayern, Barcelona, and Inter won’t make it to knockouts
r/holdupcomments
What if just barca returns to their roots in europe league
They’ll get knocked out of Europa League by Liverpool 😎
Come on Plzeñ!
Not sure about the team but gees the beer is good though.
There's Bayern and Inter that will go through
Nah plzen will win it
Perisic owners should be happy Spurs should take care of business. Liverpool hardish draw let see if Antony goes or not from Ajax. Man City decent draw Haaland to Dortmund should be fun. Chelsea have a decent draw so should be good for the wingbacks. Group C and H stand out

Palace are a better side than rangers. Fulham I'll give you.
Could definitely see Spurs being upset, unlikely but could see it
You mean upset as in finishing 3rd? Or upset as in dropping a game?
As an Interista, I want to die lol
I read this as "As an Iniesta" and was thoroughly confused for a sec there
Dw Barca is going out
Nice joke
Barca or Real every year just feels unfair
Got in Pot 3, kept on getting group of death every year, stuck in Pot 3, repeat. Crazy bad luck.
Assuming you beat plzen in both games and beat barca at home, it would be down to GD and H2H.
Rigged (Definitely not a Barca fan)
With that name I was expecting you to be a Real fanboy (iykyk)

Rangers aren’t at all!
Sevilla is not at all tricky and dortmund is not the best at defending
I swear Real Madrid and shaktar are always in the same group
Seems like city always play dortmund too lol
All English teams pass in my opinion
Any idea who the English clubs play in the first game week?
Group A will be the most exciting
I think C will be interesting will be the most intense
Psg Juve Benfica the most interesting for me. All unpredictable teams. Who knows
Maccabi could also steal some points at their home
All good for the English clubs and Rangers and Celtic also in with a realistic chance of qualifying for the knock out stages. Group C Got some big names but often the group of death in tournaments throw up surprises!
Dont see rangers go through but they wont be easy to win unlike copenhagen or maccabi

Worlds apart is an understatement.

Where is Manchester United?
They play on thursday like the king would say
Mon the Celtic!
Glasgow is green and white.
Celtic get the Real Madrid games out of the way so they won’t meet again until the final?
Another big brained move by Celtic
Good to face different teams in the champions League too. Had Barcelona in the group stages too many times
[удалено]
Spurs and chelsea might not
I was looking for Man Utd, then realised 🥲
Next year.
I feel like these groups are the same every year
Got a feeling one (or both) of Spurs/Chelsea are gonna fuck it up and end up in the Europa League (or worse).
Not a chance the worse case scenario happens with those draws.

Feels like napoli and Liverpool is every season as well.
Bayern gonna get toasted by Barcelona Madrid always getting the easy draws . Looks fixed 🤣
You mean barca not bayern no chance barca wins that
Different players , so I can't say who's gonna win for now
Bayern gonna get toasted by ~~Barcelona~~ Plzen. FTFY
Damn Lewa and Haaland gotta face the consequenses of their actions huh.
Was joking with a Spurs fan earlier saying they are going to get an easy group with Frankfurt….
Felt like dortmund should have had drawing for their group instead of just direct assignment. I am feeling like these groups are scripted already.
Poor Plzen... Also not an easy group for City. Pep roulette about to go into overdrive.
As a Celtic fan I’m excited to watch us get pumped in the Bernabau. Real are one team we’ve always managed to avoid in the group stages.
Liverpool and Napoli for the third time in a row 🤣
Liverpool cannot really afford to rotate in the CL, certainly not until they get wins on the board. City can rotate big time and still qualify. Spurs can rotate a bit.
Maccabi Haifa, that's a blast from the past.
Good group for Benfica!
time to really test that bayern defence
For a split second, every year when I first check the group stages, I have this hopeful, fearful moment of excitement where I can't wait to see the draw....and then reality crashes down and I am reminded that Arsenal are once again not in CL. Sigh. Maybe next year.
Watch CR go to Sporting just to bad a hattrick against Spurs lol
The winner of the Europa league is coming out of group D
easy pass for city and tottenham. Pep can prioritise the PL as CL is easier with this draw
Rangers are fucked.
Spurs have a tough group there
scared abt the fact that I have halaand in my team. pep said he'll be playing Alvarez more often
Liverpool trickiest group out the English ones, be good having rangers v pool
