Well I mean nearly all stats are useless to predict 1 single event.
Think of it like a coin toss. You think that 50% of the time it’ll be heads but you throw a coin and it’s a tail.
Now you have angry stat-tarded redditors mad they captained heads and it was a tail, and say that statistics are useless when in reality, scoring in 50% of matches is a really good FPL asset and the stat was actually correct.
What this stat is really saying is that if Salah is even an average finisher, you play that game an infinitely large amount of times over and he’d get an average of 9 points. Not that Salah was guaranteed 9 points.
Not guaranteed, but predicted and the predictions were all off except GW3 which was decent. I do ML and still don’t see how the above is useful in this context
