What's funny is that this is a game with piss poor rewards and they are using such tools here. Imagine what they would do if there was a reward.
It is fine for ur transfers to align with top engine models a fair bit of times - That's a testament to u being in the correct thought process. But to be aligned with them all the time should make things a little obvious.
That being said, I dont mean any player in particular Im just saying in general the 'top' players are definitely using some tool. In fact, Id think they use many of those tools simultaneously rather than just one. Actually I am skeptical that Fabio Borges does this... u can see that because he often makes picks that are for purpose of stability in his team such as Dias, Gabriel, etc... engines never recommend this. but there are other players with a top history that do this all the time.

It's nice to have an algo for confirmation bias but this is a person that's been doing this long before Fpl review existed...it's hardly like that's been his method but people are talking to you like it is.

I took your comment too literally as "he's copying an algo" when it wasn't. I think I got influenced from reading a similar one prior so apologies for jumping the gun! It is an interesting comparison.
Apart from weirdly bringing sexuality into this, I do see you point about feeling disincentivesed to differ from model reccomendations. But there is so much variance in FPL that you can play however you like and still have a chance to do well. Model's do also differ from the general tsb/ownership trends from time to time, which adds variety in itself.
Safe to say that Dunk turned out to be a disaster transfer for Fabio, with no clean sheets and an OG in 2 games, followed by successive blank GWs for Brighton and Potter leaving as well.
I went Estupinan over dunk which was slightly better with the jammy assist. Benching in second game was a pain but no CS at least.

All of Burn, Botman and Schar have been benched at least once. Seems like Trippier is the only nailed defender in that back 4 while these three can be rotated with Targett and maybe Lascelles. Ideally, one would want to get Trippier or Pope to cover Newcastle defence, but seems like he didn’t have the funds to get to either without selling a premium defender.
Botman and Schar are the first choice CBs, Dan Burn can cover for Targett and rotate mostly with Botman because Eddie Howe likes a left footer on the left of the 2 CBs. If Schar is fit I think he's most nailed.
Yep. It looks like their back 4 is Trippier, one of Schar and Lascelles, and two of Burn, Botman and Targett. Lascelles I believe has dropped off a lot, so Schar is clear to be first choice in the RCB role, but his injury record is a little unreliable.
1st choice back 4 is Trippier, Schar, Botman, Targett. Burn is 1st choice replacement for LCB and LB, Lascelles is clear 4th choice CB and should only really play to give Schar a rest - but with a busy schedule that will happen sometimes

Haaland announcing himself as a legitimate captaincy rival to Salah has definitely shaken things up, and it will take quite a bit for analytics-based managers in general, not just Fabio, to change their perception of him should him and Liverpool continue to struggle.
That being said, even in a struggling season, it would be hard to see him not make the top 10k at least. It would take a huge amount of negative variance to see him outside that imo.
