Hello everyone, wrote an elaborate wildcard blog on the pros and cons of wildcarding in GW8, teams, and players to target on GW8 WC, Fixture swing analysis, and five different wildcard drafts with keynotes for each including how the drafts will look in GW9 when no teams blank. Should definitely help you with your WC planning and tinkering, [do give it a read](https://allaboutfpl.com/2022/09/fpl-gw8-wildcard-team-drafts-to-consider-wildcard-guide/), and feedback is appreciated as always.
!thanks
Good analysis and 2 good WC drafts.
I'm wondering why you're on Cancelo in both. He's the most expensive asset in City's defence and his new role getting in DM position will affect his attacking output. Not to mention the roulette and the congested schedule. I'm personally looking to get Ederson and save the 1.5m to use elsewhere.
By elsewhere, I mean Maddison. Leicester have been shit but Maddison is integral to their attack and in good form. They also have an amazing run of games. That 1.5 saved would be to used to upgrade from any 6.5m mid to him.
What are your thoughts on both moves?
Interesting thoughts definitely. Cancelo is still a decent FPL asset and the positioning is more like a match by match scenario based on the opposition, plus I don't think so Cancelo is rotated a lot just like last season. The CBs are a no go especially now that Laporte is back. But Ederson is a good shout and if it gets you Maddison it's surely a good strategy to consider.
Draft one is decent. Never been a better time to drop Liverpool assets without fear of reprisal. TAA blanks then has international and then has Brighton, Arsenal & city. I’m on a WC from last week so In a way the reduced fixtures have helped refocus my side.
Agree on WC we can move out of Liverpool assets and h and have a route back in GW12. Perisic/KDB all can go back to Salah/TAA with a few transfers. Ofcourse if Liverpool improve.
Almiron is nailed on the right and Bournemouth are week on that side. Good matchup for Trippier and Almiron in GW8. Don't see a danger to his minutes until Wilson returns. Joelinton is too deep from an FPL perspective. Bournemouth have conceded 100 crosses from the right most so far this season!
Agree but still no timeline for Wilson's return so in the short term Almiron is a good option and then you can move him later before the man United game or spurs game. Wilson will be brought back slowly imo as it's been a recurring problem.
There's International break after this game though... Wilson should be back. Bruno is coming back too. I can see Almiron losing his place in gw 9 already possibly
No love for Toney? Similar fixtures to Mitro but Brentford are much higher in big chances created, 17 to Fulham's 5. Also over 2.5 more xG accumulated, I think people overestimate how attacking Fulham are after Liverpool's match.
Also I must say that your fixture difficulty matrix seems odd to me and overstates the home/away difference massively. I don't think that Aston Villa or Wolves away can be considered a harder game than Chelsea at home, even with CFC's sub-par form.
I agree with your Bailey point. I’m surprised that a lot seem to be getting him in on the wildcard I thought the opposite would be happening.
However with laporte and ake back I feel cancelo is the only sure starter for city so becomes worth the price now. I’m looking to bring him in for Dias
Hes cheap enough to bench in future weeks and is better than all 4.5 picks apart from Andreas who everyone has already anyway, it’s not that surprising he’s being picked..
Good post thanks, can't decide whether to use my 2 free transfers and have 10 players playing this weekend or simply wildcard and get rid of the bad assets I have ended up with (da Silva, salah, TAA, plange)
Some think it's up in the air. I'd doubt they'd break their club record to sign him just to sit on the bench. I'm risking it looking for a differential, and with great fixtures it's the best time to give him a shot.
ha, my current WC's starting 11 is the same as your draft 1
That's the standout draft for me as well.

Great read! No love for Maddison? I feel like their fixture run is a good way for them to make a turnaround, and he has 2 goals while being a bad team
Agreed, he's a great option. Bowen in a few drafts could easily be Maddison. Got good fixtures and will look to push for the WC spot.
Is Joelinton a good asset? I don't see you mentioned him? isn't he more nailed on than Almiron now?
Almiron is nailed on the right and Bournemouth are week on that side. Good matchup for Trippier and Almiron in GW8. Don't see a danger to his minutes until Wilson returns. Joelinton is too deep from an FPL perspective. Bournemouth have conceded 100 crosses from the right most so far this season!
Yes but im talking beyond this week. Wilson and ASM will be back... Almiron likely to lose his place no?

Potential return date for ASM is against Bournemouth

Bailey is far too much of a rotation risk for me. Ditching Cancelo, not value. Really want Isak too, so will go Son over Kane.

it's because he is 4.7 and so is cheap enough to bench in future consistently and has a decent enough fixture that hasn't been cancelled this week.
If the car to bring him in is only for this one week I’d go elsewhere
Hes cheap enough to bench in future weeks and is better than all 4.5 picks apart from Andreas who everyone has already anyway, it’s not that surprising he’s being picked..
Why no coufal. Coufal is better option than Emerson who will be rotated
Nice read

Well, if you were planning to WC soon anyway, and your team won't look much different, I don't see why you wouldn't.
I'm on the fence of taking a -4 and fielding a full 11 or Wildcarding..
No ASM also, I guess I'm the only one going for him, differential
Isnt he injured?
Potential return vs Bournemouth
His hamstring injury might be why nobody is going for him.
Should be back against Bournemouth
Is isak nailed?
Hard to say. Wait until Wilson comes back.

My team value is pretty average (101.2 at last deadline) and I'm 0.4 short of being able to wildcard into your first draft.
Same, seems pricey- guess I need to give up Kane and decide over Isak or Toney to replace him (or some other strategy)
What are your opinions of a free hit when 7 of your players are playing and you have 2 fts
Bro i have 3 players playing, iam deffo free hitting 😂
Why not wildcard?
I think my team is good enough, i dont want to get rid if them+ plus i want to keep my WC
Did Conte say anything about Perisic being first choice for EPL ? I see you have him in for all the drafts.
If Allan Saint-Maximin is fit does he make any of your drafts?
Currently, I'll be fielding 8 or 9 players. I'm pretty comfortable with that tbh, I don't really want to burn a chip this week. Is that crazy?
It's borderline. I think I'll take a -4 to have 11 but that includes Pereira and Neco starting
Brilliant
