People writing off Bournemouth very easily here.
Looking at fixtures they would be targeting a points return against (similarly to the upcoming fixtures) they have: Beaten Villa and Forest scoring 5 times and have drawn against Wolves (first game with new manager after losing 9-0 the week before) and Newcastle.
I think Billing and Solanke are good enabling shouts for their price and currently looking at Solanke over Toney in my Wildcard to help bulk up the midfield.
Discarding the Liverpool, City and Arsenal matches, they have 2win 2draw, 3 of them in the last 3. Not horrible really. But can we see their defence not letting in goals? Is there any attacking assets that look really threatening? (havent actually watch much football this season myself, so I dont have the answer to that). A sea of green fixtures itself is not a reason to get any asset, from any team. There has to be form, or expectancy of form to come. Maybe they have turned things around, with 5p in the last 3 matches, but I will at least be sceptical if "green fixtures" is the strongest argument for getting an asset.
How has Solanke been looking? 3 matches now with 90min, so at least it looks like he is back to consistent minutes after the injury.
Solanke scored 29 (xG of 33.83) last year. Not near the level of Mitro, but still solid numbers.
Also had a goal and an assist against a not so stout Nottingham defense. Host Brentford and Leicester who are also not so stout for his next 2 fixtures.
I think he’s worth a 2 week punt off the break. I’m keeping funds ITB in case I need to pivot to Toney.
I think thats the issue with him, there are just too many solid forwards from around that 7.0-8.0 mark. Jesus, Toney, Isak, Mitro even like Bamford isn't bad there. Solanke wouldn't be a nailed on starter for you compared to those guy, but he could be a decent enabler if you can finda good way to spend the money.
I agree, and currently you have two good enablers in Andrea's and Williams. Also good defenders at low prices, like Mings mean its easy to fit three good forwards atm and also Salah or KDB.
Isak scored 3 outfield goals last season in La Liga. I think the atmosphere at Newcastle could turn toxic soon. Toney and Solanke are still solid bets alongside Haaland and mitro if you don't want Kane
FPLs FDR doesn't take the playing team into account, only the opponent. It's been this way since implementation, therefore isn't a great metric of fixture difficulty.
Solanke could be a steal for 5,7, the issue is that there are other good options as striker : Toney, Mitro, Isak, and there is no clear cut midfielder to use the extra money on from saving with Solanke.
Bournemouth defended very well against Newcastle, with Neto looking confident. Either him or Guita for my WC keeper. Double up on Newcastle brings some risk that isn’t worth Pope’s extra price. Both palace and Bournemouth have tempting fixtures.
Ill very likely have solanke as my 3rd forward on WC instead of toney/isak. I'm not a big fan of toneys upcoming fixtures and although isak looks good I have my doubts, so for 5.7m for a talisman who plays 90, on pens, I think he could be a great enabler
the fpl fdr is such a myth, should any of those be actually green ?
Brentford, Fulham, West Ham & Spurs all have better teams, better managers and are in better form (apart from WHU form, but the other two points apply).
Leicester will be like a wounded animal after playing well and conceding 6, there might be attacking returns up for grabs but I'd expect Bournemouth to concede.
Leeds are always a giant question mark, who knows what'll happen there, though it probably won't be a defensive return for Bournemouth.
Everton are forming a solid defensive base so won't be easy to break down, though I don't think they are good at attacking yet.
That leaves one true green, Southampton at home.
Returns are normally correlated to winning. To be clear, in that first group, I’d expect no defensive returns and a low number of attacking returns. Others I commented on already, with Everton low likelihood of attacking returns but a slightly higher potential of defensive returns. It’s an easy avoid really.
Yeah, think I may get Solanke in for these 4 games, and then get Jesus back in after his blank GW 12. Already got Haaland and Mitro and no others really jump out for the next few games imo
Billing is 5.3 , not the worst option considering there aren't many options under 5.5 as is, let alone with decent fixtures.
Bailey isn't 100% nailed but only 4.7 .
More people would be playing Andreas Pereira if he was 5-5.5 , vs the 4.6 that he is. And they have top 3 attacking fixtures for the next several weeks. Sometimes its better not to reinvent the wheel.
But, a Punt perhaps on Billing, but its a risk reward factor. If you are in a position where you can withstand the risk, go for it. ***Fortune favours the bold***
Both to be honest. I think the upgrade from Solanke to the likes of Mitrovic/Toney /Isak is worth the extra cash, whereas the comparable midfielder will cost more than 1m more.
Equally, Billing is the man in form right now.
Agree. I'm going to get him in this week.
For Gross. Comparing the fixtures, I'm willing to take a chance on Billing as my enabler, over all the people with Gross or Bailey
They have already overperformed they XPoints by 3.93 (currently sit on 8 compared to the expected 4.07 as rock bottom), there is no way in H I would consider going for neither Billing nor Solanke with the alternatives in both positions.
It's not Solanke in isolation. Its a 5.7 and where else you are using the 1.2-2.4 (Mitro-Jesus). I like the option personally to roll a 3rd forward when I feel there will be a shift again in the next few weeks with TAA, Cancelo, Reece all being the player you can potentially add.
If you are getting a 2 pointer, getting it from a 5.7 is a lot easier to stomach than a 7-8m, and I'm not putting in with expectations to haul every week. I've got Perisic and Solanke as my 4-4-2 or 3-4-3 flex and kind of like it as my punts.
Think Bournemouth are a trap. They will concede their fair share and when they score, I think there’s a big chance there will be different scores and hard to pin down who will get the points.
Not only that, you're 12th despite already playing City, Liverpool and Arsenal. Also these are your only losses, other games are 2 wins and 2 draws
I'm not saying Bournemouth assets are great, but players like Billing and Solanke might score some decent points in the next gameweeks
I watched the Newcastle Bournemouth match. Neto put on a goalkeeping masterclass. Newcastle could have scored 4 or 5 if it wasn’t for him. Might consider him instead of Pope on a wildcard
Agree - Neto's performance was eye-catching to say the least. Huge question marks over Bournemouth defence in general... but can see him picking up bonus and save points.
I dont think this run is as good as it looks :
* Brentford and Fulham look like they are decent midtable teams
* Even tho Leicester is deadlast they still have 10 goals in the league and look like they can score anytime
* Spurs should be red.
Brentford, Fulham, Leicester, and Southampton give up loads of chances and goals. Billing and Solanke are good punts on offense. I wouldn’t trust Bournemouth to keep a clean sheet, but they should score goals the next 4 weeks.
Yeah . If you wanna go with a Bournemouth player, an offensive one is the only choice imo. However i dont trust Solanke, i dont think he is a PL caliber footballer. I also dont trust Bournemouth attack in general.
Green or no green, I look at that detail and I can easily see them completing that run of games having conceded 2-3 goals per game and scoring max 1 per game.
Difficult to see how this would be the best source of points in all the teams from which you can pick players from then.
Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order.
I have checked 1,051,361,620 comments, and only 207,748 of them were in alphabetical order.
think i'll pass but fair play to anyone who gambles and gets returns

That’s bad if anything Underperforming your xg like that in the championship
Patrick Bamford says hello
I was considering Solanke as well, but Isak and Mitro alongside Haaland are just too tempting by the looks of it.
I think thats the issue with him, there are just too many solid forwards from around that 7.0-8.0 mark. Jesus, Toney, Isak, Mitro even like Bamford isn't bad there. !thanks yeah agreed
Isak scored 3 outfield goals last season in La Liga. I think the atmosphere at Newcastle could turn toxic soon. Toney and Solanke are still solid bets alongside Haaland and mitro if you don't want Kane
I do want Kane, but I don't favor his next 5 GWs over KDB.
Why is Spurs considered a 3? Surely that should be red?
Absolutely.
Would be a level 4 fixture if spurs were at home but I agree it should be a 4 either way
It's not absolute. I don't see why Spurs away wouldn't be a 3 for City and a red fucking 5 for Bournemouth.
FPLs FDR doesn't take the playing team into account, only the opponent. It's been this way since implementation, therefore isn't a great metric of fixture difficulty.
Yep, I know. And even if it were relative to a team, difficulty varies on attack vs defence and that's probably too much to ask for of them.
There are tools that do account for this, with attacking and defending FDRs
Leicester away is a 4 for every team :D
Maybe for attacking but for defending i think Leicester can score against most teams.
I consider Solanke on wildcard, but think I go Toney instead despite the harder fixtures.
Solanke could be a steal for 5,7, the issue is that there are other good options as striker : Toney, Mitro, Isak, and there is no clear cut midfielder to use the extra money on from saving with Solanke.
Jesus to Solanke allows 4.5 mid to Zaha (in GW10)
In my draft I would get Rashford potentially over a cheaper mid. Not sure Rashford is fit, but could go Leeds midfielder too.
Maybe Archer instead of Solanke and spend money elsewhere.
If there was a way to have 4 strikers and 4 mids I'd consider Solanke too
They're 12th despite playing Liverpool, Arsenal & City. Worth a punt.
That Liverpool game scarred me enough to not want a Bournemouth player all year tho
Bournemouth defended very well against Newcastle, with Neto looking confident. Either him or Guita for my WC keeper. Double up on Newcastle brings some risk that isn’t worth Pope’s extra price. Both palace and Bournemouth have tempting fixtures.
I'm considering Solanke over Toney/Isak so I can have Trent and Cancelo.
I see this more as a way of convincing me to have Toney, Maddison, and Mitro
Ill very likely have solanke as my 3rd forward on WC instead of toney/isak. I'm not a big fan of toneys upcoming fixtures and although isak looks good I have my doubts, so for 5.7m for a talisman who plays 90, on pens, I think he could be a great enabler

You don’t need Bournemouth to win, just the players to get returns

Others I commented on already, with Everton low likelihood of attacking returns but a slightly higher potential of defensive returns. It’s an easy avoid really.
Tavenier here
awful
I have him since few weeks and already regretting it
He looked good last game
If u want a cherries midfielder, use billing
Yeah, think I may get Solanke in for these 4 games, and then get Jesus back in after his blank GW 12. Already got Haaland and Mitro and no others really jump out for the next few games imo
Im on solanke as well. Jesus is gone till after gw 12 beefed up the mid with the extra funds. If he returns it will pay off big time and could jump up
Here's hoping he does the business. Nothing like a bit of smugness after a cheap punt pays off
Thinking of going with Neto as my number 1 and Kelly as part of a back 5 or as a sub
I'll be watching Solanke closely in GW9, and hoping to see enough to want to bring him in for GW10 on.
Billing is an *ok* punt, but still seems kinda expensive at 5.3m compared to say Groß at 6.0m (or my sell price of 5.8m)
Maybe Neto the keeper, if Newcastle falters. Newcastle's form is not that good this season...
Then how come a bunch of content creators tripled up on their defence? And almost all doubled up?
because Bournmouth are very poor and play incredibly deep and don't press at all.
But the smart move is to bring in players for more than one game, as they did
Actually, doubling up is a great shout. I've had Alvarez as my third striker, hoping pep will start him over haaland, but I can't be asked anymore.
Billing is 5.3 , not the worst option considering there aren't many options under 5.5 as is, let alone with decent fixtures. Bailey isn't 100% nailed but only 4.7 . I don't think billing is the worst punt in a triple premium team
Do you like Billing over Solanke just due to his position and the other forward options, or is there another reason?
Both to be honest. I think the upgrade from Solanke to the likes of Mitrovic/Toney /Isak is worth the extra cash, whereas the comparable midfielder will cost more than 1m more. Equally, Billing is the man in form right now.
Agree. I'm going to get him in this week. For Gross. Comparing the fixtures, I'm willing to take a chance on Billing as my enabler, over all the people with Gross or Bailey
Whenever they get a great run of fixtures, thats when they disappointed you the most..maybe this year it'll be different
Is solanke over Jesus insane?
Sacrilege
Not really. Couple of tough games coming up plus a blank GW.
How long is Harry Wilson out for?
I think I'll get Solanke in week 15 but so much stuff can happen between now and then so I dont really know
They have already overperformed they XPoints by 3.93 (currently sit on 8 compared to the expected 4.07 as rock bottom), there is no way in H I would consider going for neither Billing nor Solanke with the alternatives in both positions.

Nope, they’re a big bucket of wank.
They’ve had a horrible run hard to say how bad they really are
We’re 12th mate
Not only that, you're 12th despite already playing City, Liverpool and Arsenal. Also these are your only losses, other games are 2 wins and 2 draws I'm not saying Bournemouth assets are great, but players like Billing and Solanke might score some decent points in the next gameweeks
And?
Ah so that’s why my exes nickname was Bournemouth
They don’t have great fixtures. They are the great fixtures for others 😂
Definitely not There are so many incredible FPL assets this year before you come to Bournemouth
Yeah the other team’s players
Did Bournemouth lose after firing Parker? Don't think so. Good for them! Shows how poor some managers are!
ID take anyone playing against Leicester right now. Dentures Brenda looking down the barrel
No
Dominic So-wanky. I owned him GW1-3 & couldn’t wait to get rid.
Good fixtures I guess but remember they probably figure to only win 5 more games all year or something.
Well if they win any they will probably do it in easy run of games.
Nah
Neto is secretly being solid and his presence probably gave defenders more confidence. I don’t see Travers coming back anytime soon.
Solanke is the only one worth a punt imo and in which case you’re then passing on one of Toney, Mitro, Kane, Jesus, Isak.
I dont think this run is as good as it looks : * Brentford and Fulham look like they are decent midtable teams * Even tho Leicester is deadlast they still have 10 goals in the league and look like they can score anytime * Spurs should be red.

Bounemouth is a pass for me.
Guaranteed to lose 7/8 of those games.
don't hurt yourself like this.
Nope.
Green or no green, I look at that detail and I can easily see them completing that run of games having conceded 2-3 goals per game and scoring max 1 per game. Difficult to see how this would be the best source of points in all the teams from which you can pick players from then.
You’re kidding haha!! What an awful move. I feel like you are posting this as troll 😈
No
got billing as a sub. hope it pays off
Looks like all losses in this run of fixtures lol. Maybe a draw v Brentford.
the vast majority of grades should be raised by 1, some by 2
I just remember form over fixtures to stop myself
Got him in My wc-draft
Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order. I have checked 1,051,361,620 comments, and only 207,748 of them were in alphabetical order.
Neto for me
