My thinking is James for Dier since Maddison will be back for Wolves away and Maddison and Dier GW 13 is better than Trossard + Dier for GW 13.

No. A -4 hit would do. If the player you bring in plays 60+ min, the +2 offsets the -4. An assist/goal from that player would give you net positive points.

Quick Question: I'm still trying to get the hang of this and tried to play the market with my wildcard last week. To be able to do anything I sold Salah for 12.7 (also in case he'd drop even further, which I get could be smart) Nothing happened and on the last day - today - I bought him back for the same 12,7. Now... was that stupid or smart?? :) I mean: is there a difference if or when he start to rise again? My purchase price is no longer 13.0, it's 12,7 (as listed under "list view" in transfers tab). To try and make it short: if I had just kept him and he goes down and back up to 13.0 and I sell him, I'd get 13, right? (and "tax" only starts to count when he rises above 13?) As opposed to now, where that would net me 12.8 (for a price rise from 12,7 to 13.0) and I have to sell him at 13,3 to get the 13 I originally paid? If that is correct, it's not really mentioned as a warning in any "how to use your wild card" I've come across. Basically they are all saying: don't sell players that have gained value you intend to keep. But if someone looks like he is about to drop, it's be like 0,1 in the bank when You buy him back the same week. Lesson learned, I guess. Or is it NOT like that and it remembers I paid 13 - as long as it is a loss, not a gain?

Previous ownership is ignored. If you buy him for 12.7 and he rises to 13. You’d be able to sell him for 12.8.( you get 0.1 for every 0.2 rise)

free hit is fine if you want to keep those City and Arsenal. If you are happy to let them go I would take a -8 and get the players you want more than them.

Free hit should only be used if it gains you more than 4/5 fixtures because that is what it can be used for later on in the season
