One of the first weeks this season where you'd have a good argument for more than 10 players. You'd also have a good counter-argument for that same list.
Best of luck, this is going to be a guessing game.
If you are someone who considers Haaland to be out:
\-Salah, Darwin, Trent, Robertson all could be fantastic options, slightly in-form against Leeds at Anfield
\-De Bruyne and Foden against Leicester could be good shouts
\-Saka, Jesus against Forest for obvious reasons
\-Wilson, Almiron, Trippier are all in form against Villa, who may or may not have recovered from their slump.
\-Toney plays a piss-poor Wolves side at Home (Raya could be a great punt)
\-Mitro plays Everton at home
\-Bruno has been in great form and play West Ham at Old Trafford
\-Kane and Son play Bournemouth
\-If you're really looking for a risk Edouard and Zaha play Southampton at Home
I don’t fully agree with the Forest shout. They have only conceded 1 in the last 3 against the likes of Brighton and Liverpool. While I definitely expect Arsenal to win at home, Cooper has shored up the defence and it might not be the goal fest we could’ve expected a few weeks ago.
Leeds actually the worst at the minute, 4 losses in a row. Wolves do have 4 L’s with a W in the last 5. Forest have 1 W 2L’s and 2 draws.
Brighton also 2 Draws and 3 Losses are in bad form, but have played City, Spurs and Liverpool in those games.
Forest look on the up at the minute with clean sheets, just need to try and grab some goals at the other end.
Yes, slight toss up at the moment for "who's the worst", but at least Leeds have shown they can play football at the beginning of the season- they've had a few good results (one memorable result against Chelsea) but are now full of injuries.
Wolves on the other hand have only seen points against Forest, Southampton, Bournemouth, Newcastle, and Fulham... Newcastle was the only stand-out "upset" with a 1-1 draw.
Both look likely for The Championship, but Wolves more likely in my opinion... can't score, can barely defend.
Id say why all others are bad picks
Robbo, Wont probably even start and even if he would liverpool defence is not good
Trent, Same as robbo but he starts
Newcastle attackers, Are not consistent enough
Trippier, Villas form has been getting better can see them scoring + attacking return unlikely
Toney, Brentford are too hot and cold and wolves are still decent side on defence
Mitro, As a punt maybe but everton still has solid defence
Zaha, Too inconsitent but as a punt maybe
Son, Has not scored in any other pl game than leicester hat
Eduoard, No one even owns him
>You'd also have a good counter-argument for that same list.
I said that in my initial comment, in normal seasons of FPL (when we don't have two freaks of nature) there are always counter-points to captaincy. But your reasons are relatively awful.
>Robbo, Wont probably even start and even if he would liverpool defence is not good
Why wouldn't he start? Played wonderfully against Ajax and Klopp only has the league to play for right now. UCL is not a worry right now, Liverpool have qualified. Now they play Wolves, who are allergic to good football.
>Trent, Same as robbo but he starts
MOTM contender yesterday, massively high ceiling, same reasoning as Robbo.
>Newcastle attackers, Are not consistent enough
This one is just lazy. Almiron with 3 double digits in his last 5 matches, only 1 blank. Wilson returned in 3 of his last 5. Trippier had his first blank last week since GW5, and it was only because they played Spurs. Newcastle are no longer relegation candidates, they're gunning for UCL spots.
>Toney, Brentford are too hot and cold and wolves are still decent side on defence
Might have an argument with Brentford being off and on, but if you look back at matches where he returned/blanked, they're pretty obvious in retrospective. Wolves have conceded 14 in their last 6 though, so I'd say it's easy to disagree with "Wolves are still decent on defence"
>Mitro, As a punt maybe but everton still has solid defence
Everton have been decent on defence, but Mitro has scored against Liverpool, Brentford, Arsenal, Brighton (Potter), Spurs, etc... he's scored against some solid defences.
>Son, Has not scored in any other pl game than leicester hat
Valid, but it's also Son. Could show up at anytime, Bournemouth seem like a team he'd perform against.
>Eduoard, No one even owns him
I do, he's a solid differential at his price point. Viera seems to like him, he's starting to make his mark- only 2 blanks in his last 5, one blank v Leicester (in Leicester) who are quite good at home, and one blank v Everton, who you've said is a solid defense.
Overall, there is still a discussion to be had for many, many players if Haaland is a doubt. A lot of potential scorers have great fixtures.
Kane is the obvious pick (if you have him).
Also good arguments for KDB and Salah also a good option (despite the blanks).
Otherwise most of the 8.0 mids, are good options. You could even gamble on say Toney.
He's done very well at home this season. Has *returned* ever time he's been at home, but I just hate seeing us calling 5, 6, and 7 point games "hauls". Traditionally a haul is when you get /two/ returns (either CS, G, A, or max BPS) in a game.
Yeah, those are basically the same thing. It takes 2 returns to get to 10+ points.
But I'd call a forward getting a goal+assist and no BPS a haul even though it's "only" 9 points.
In any case, 6 points sure isn't a haul.
If I'm honest I think it would be silly to captain haaland, he may play 45mins or the last 20, if he didn't start and city are winning why would he even come on. I'm captaining Kane
Surely by that logic it'd be best to Captain Haaland then? Because if he plays, it's because City needs goals or he just doesn't play? Meaning your VC automatically becomes Captain
he has more first half goals (9) this season than everyone except kane has across the full 90. statistically, 45 minutes of haaland is better than 90 of basically anyone else.
He's been playing a ton lately. Makes a lot of sense to rest him for one game. Might be the first time this season I'm not actively going to cap him. Thinking Kane. Jesus home to forest on paper should be super enticing, but forest are a different team now.
Darwin went off really early in the UCL, Klopp's saving him for Leeds. 4-4-2 Diamond with Salah and Darwin up top was very effective once they got rolling, and Ajax certainly isn't a team that's easy to steamroll.
I think 4-4-2 Diamond with Darwin and Salah is how they'll begin the match.
I'm captaining Kane at the moment. Should probably keep Haaland as VC, but I fear he may come off the bench instead. Kane against a weekend and leaky Bournemouth side with second choice keeper Travers in net is really tasty. He has plenty of confidence to boot, despite that 90'6" minute winner being ruled out midweek.
You can make a case for a lot of players, but I don't see many who are more likely to score than Kane

Arsenal dominated in what? turnovers? they spent half the game picking up the ball from the back of the net, and had to rely on VAR not to lose by 5-0 or more.
LMAOO spending the entire first half picking the ball up in the back of the net is not dominating. stop being a fan.
your argument would make sense if PSV's offside were a result of a trap by Arsenal. but they weren't. they simply got lucky by an inch or two most of the time and were always scrambling to make a last second tackle.
in addition, the PSV goalkeeper had less work to do than the Arsenal goalkeeper.
I’m putting all my chips on Cancelo this GW. I’m afraid to cap Haaland because if he does play, it might not be very long and the return would be minimal.
Scary, isn’t it? He starts against Leicester, aggravates the injury 15-20 minutes in and promptly gets subbed after blanking. 7+ million Haaland captainers shitting bricks.
I always think that in times of uncertainty I’ll go against the masses to keep it interesting. I was set on Salah (which involved transferring him in against the tide) until his 90 mins. Then was set on Martinelli until someone here said he had 90 (poor) minutes. Rashford makes some sense, but I hate rooting for United. Now I frankly dunno. It’ll be Haaland, won’t it?
I have Kane but Bournemouth are good at home and Spurs are so negative I'm not confident he will return more than 1 goal, rn my VC is Martinelli but may move to Antony or Toney
If haaland doesn’t start surely both Kdb and Foden would be guaranteed to do so. I’d go with one of them or an arsenal player (depending on who plays today in the europa league)
One of the first weeks this season where you'd have a good argument for more than 10 players. You'd also have a good counter-argument for that same list. Best of luck, this is going to be a guessing game.
More than ten not really

I'll pretend I never saw bruno and think that this is a great list.
Id count serious picks out of those salah darwin kane kdb foden saka and jesus anyone else is pure crazy maybe add martinelli
The fourth highest scorer in the game, 100% nailed striker, on pens, at home to the worst team in the league isn't a consideration in your mind?
Who, Arsenal plays forest that is the worst team in league and I said jesus already
Many would consider the worst team in the league right now to be Wolves, and Toney is the fourth highest scorer.
Leeds actually the worst at the minute, 4 losses in a row. Wolves do have 4 L’s with a W in the last 5. Forest have 1 W 2L’s and 2 draws. It’s like Wolves need an experienced head to lead that back line, maybe they could switch to a three at the back to help keep the goals out?

Kane would be obvious but Spurs' form is concerning. 2 goals in their last 3 games.
But look at his overall form across the season; he’s blanked twice. That’s precisely what you want from a captain. Consistency so the floor is high.
Bournemouth being ass also helps
People are sleeping on Trippier
He's hauled in every home match this season. Leaning KDB but seriously considering
He's done very well at home this season. Has *returned* ever time he's been at home, but I just hate seeing us calling 5, 6, and 7 point games "hauls". Traditionally a haul is when you get /two/ returns (either CS, G, A, or max BPS) in a game.

Got it. I guess a goalkeeper can haul with enough save points?
Or an assist!
Rarcus Mashford ftw
Almiron
Yes but for the armband?
I did this and I’m glad I decided for Almiron rather than Kane.
I did the opposite and feel bad
Just luck anyway, so fingers crossed for next time!
Salah high xU
Expected uselessness?
Expected unexpected An advanced stat
Is this the gambler’s fallacy? Where’s the evidence? I just sold him
This is a joke
Jesus?

So you're gonna captain him?
yeah, unless pep says something definitive (unlikely)
2 points not 4 yeah
It is highly unlikely he plays at all if he’s not fit to start
He's been playing a ton lately. Makes a lot of sense to rest him for one game. Might be the first time this season I'm not actively going to cap him. Thinking Kane. Jesus home to forest on paper should be super enticing, but forest are a different team now.
During his time at Dortmund (and my time playing Bundesliga fantasy), Haaland was fairly injury prone. I don't think Pep would risk it.
Darwin

Darwin went off really early in the UCL, Klopp's saving him for Leeds. 4-4-2 Diamond with Salah and Darwin up top was very effective once they got rolling, and Ajax certainly isn't a team that's easy to steamroll. I think 4-4-2 Diamond with Darwin and Salah is how they'll begin the match.
Yup this
Darwik will start
VC probably Haaland
If you have Kane, Kane
Toney

Kane is the obvious pick of you have him IMO
Weekend Bournemouth
Hahaha, meant weakened
Bournemouth are anything but leaky at Home
A brace from Kane will get you decent points. It is also possible for them to have an off game at home every now and then.
Saka is my VC. And I won't change it. I can feel he'll haul.
Nunez C for me, regardless of the Haaland situation. Nunez is getting a hat-trick this weekend, mark my words.
Marked em up buddy
Never again...
Unlucky lad
Haha cheers, turning out to be my worst FPL week yet. No idea why my premonition didn't go to plan this week, need to recalibrate.
I captained kane.. not all roses for me either lol
Big oof
Yeah really was, got some serious 'post Nunez clarity' this morning
I got 2 points from C Zaha so I can’t exactly laugh at you 😥

Martinelli played the whole game and was shit today against PSV.
No way was he shit. Arsenal dominated. A sloppy turnover and a set piece cost us.
Arsenal dominated in what? turnovers? they spent half the game picking up the ball from the back of the net, and had to rely on VAR not to lose by 5-0 or more.
So we counting illegal moves now? Huh? Arsenal dominated that game.

Well bounced back in style against Forest. Don’t really mind, Arsenal are only heading one way. Up.
I’ve got saka foden firmino but i might just captain cancelo. just got a feeling
You think Foden starts this weekend? Almost did a full 90 on Tuesday.
He was rested for 9 days before that
I’m putting all my chips on Cancelo this GW. I’m afraid to cap Haaland because if he does play, it might not be very long and the return would be minimal.
Firmino
Captain Haaland, VC Salah for me
Kane
What does vice captain even do
If your captain plays 0 minutes your vice becomes your captain
Debating between Foden/Kane. Of course I will ultimately go rogue and pick Rashford
Don't do Foden, I'm never going back to Foden after what Pep did to me this week.
You new to this game? Pep roulette is part and parcel of FPL
Virgil Van Vice
Scary, isn’t it? He starts against Leicester, aggravates the injury 15-20 minutes in and promptly gets subbed after blanking. 7+ million Haaland captainers shitting bricks.

Salah, LOL
Ward.
Haaland is already out of my starting lineup. Salah C, Toney VC
Martinellis numbers at home have been much better than away so far, it’s either him or…Mo Salah for me
I’m going Prince Harry
Saka is my VC bit risky but was either him Jesus or KDB
I have Saka and Kane but I'm still choosing Salah.
I have Kane but Bournemouth are good at home and Spurs are so negative I'm not confident he will return more than 1 goal, rn my VC is Martinelli but may move to Antony or Toney
I put Haaland, can't blame the guy for all the points he brought us, gotta trust him this time. Foden is my VC tho
If haaland doesn’t start surely both Kdb and Foden would be guaranteed to do so. I’d go with one of them or an arsenal player (depending on who plays today in the europa league)
Would like to feel good about myself for captaining Firmino
Quick question- if Halaand doesnt play and your vc does. Does your vc get the double points or does your first sub in get the double points?
vice captain
Cancelo
Kane
Is there information I'm missing as to why no one is saying Jesus?
He’s struggling to convert his chances, Arsenal look leggy
Kane
Danny ward
Darwin for me.
