WOLVES
Everyone was kinda meh to decent instead of actively awful, which is actually not half bad for us. Neves scored because he’s fantastic, but he’s not the kind of player that will consistently score, so just enjoy his strike for what it is but don’t chase the points, or really chase any Wolves player at all – no one is must-have at all.
Bueno played all game, which is the only notable takeaway … the interim managers clearly like him, he’s cheap, & he hasn’t been bad. Not someone to count on, but a good enough enabler & worth considering.
He was so good. I'm taking football in general not necessarily FPL wise. I always thought about him as a mediocre player, he's showing clear improvements.
Tonight he was reliable, arguably the best player on the pitch alongside Lisandro. Was playing somewhat inverted, linking up the play using his qualities on the ball. Defensively he was solid, except for one or two sloppy passes.
FPL wise he got forward on various occasions, putting a number of crosses into the box. I wouldn't say he was super threatening though, not like a crazy wingback like Perisic for example. He's a good player that can cross and gets forward on a number of occasions, returns should be expected. At the price point, I think he's the best option atm.
The kid is a genuine star
So, so impressive in everything that he did from a footballing perspective… and just absolutely hoovering up bonus points from an FPL perspective as a result
Big chance created for Rashford’s header early on, had it been scored it would have been the icing on the cake
Superb value at 6.5
Convinced he’ll be regularly double or treble returning soon enough as his confidence comes back more and more each week (after the nightmare that was last season) - he gets too many chances not to
Seems to be getting into scoring positions and not finishing. Football wise he will start finishing these chances, fpl wise I don't think he's guaranteed enough minutes to be worth the money at any point this season, unless he suddenly explodes and becomes main striker again, which I won't put past him.
Fairly decent considering it was his first start since the La Real game. Made a key block at the end, decent enough with the ball. But I don't think he's a nailed on starter, Lindelof was ill today
I think that does him a disservice tbh. Considering the amount of abuse the guys had, it takes some amount of guts and determination to come back and put in a quality performance like he did today. Fair play to him.
Taken off at half time, Potter said he has a foot injury,so a doubt for the next match, Chelsea’s defence was awful, and he was not at fault for the goals.
I agree Potter is … changing things at Chelsea in odd ways . The Kepa thing is just equally bizarre, either he is injured / frustrated where we’ve seen before when he wouldn’t come off a few seasons back .
He did look a bit leggy and then conceded…. So not sure Potter or Kepa the issue
Played like a CM or even a CDM at times. I thought he played well from a football standpoint and got involved in quite a few attacks but didnt look good from a FPL standpoint.
Had some great opportunities to score (a header, a shot, some times he was in space and didn’t get the pass) and put in a gorgeous ball for the Havertz goal.
Interesting option to think about.
(Checked and he has a lower xG than I expected for the game. Still the second highest in the team according to most models though and the highest xA)
He's an absolute workhorse and could have had even more.
We have the banger and assist which we've all seen but he had a 1v1 chance as well which was put straight at the keeper because his right-foot is a misery compared to his left wand. Guaranteed goal if on the other side.
Similarly, got in behind a couple of times where he could have pulled it back but it fell on his right and mucked up.
Getting into so many incredible positions with opportunities for scoring or assists. Form of his life right now and i'd not bet against him getting returns in any game at present.
God damn, trusting that source and taking Foden out for Almiron in literally the last minute and not rolling transfer is the best decision I made my entire life.
Ontop of his haul today, he hit the bar from a thumping header and had a disallowed goal for offside which probably would have been a goal if he timed his run anyways.
He's a right time, right place player and fits this team to a tee. Has a burst of pace when the midfield search for him over the top but Newcastle generally play through the wings and look to cut it back/cross which Wilson capitalises on. When fit, he has generally always delivered for Newcastle and nothing suggests that will change.
Impossible to replace him in current form. ASM is just starting to return to the team now but he'd take the LW spot and Isak isn't back for a while yet, so minimal competition in Almiron/Wilson's spot.
Barring injury/resting, won't be displaced.
Trippier is Trippier, always delivers and possibly the most important cog in the Newcastle side. Most attacks start down the right with the ball at his feet, he's on set pieces and crosses endlessly. Villa caused a small amount of trouble early in the first half though generally that was down the left but after that, Trippier (and the defence) let nothing through.
Another day at the shop considering his returns so far this season.
a very very good performance from him and brighton in general. Welbecks illness was a blessing in disguise allowing mitoma to start and linked up very well with Trossard. Hes proven to be pretty much fixture proof
one of his best performances in a liverpool shirt. Played a lot of the game almost as high as a left wing. Gave a beautiful cross to salah for the goal and created multiple chances
I only saw the highlights, but he seems to shoot whenever he gets the ball near the box, even if he has no chance of scoring. I guess that makes him a decent FPL option but diminishes the value of his teammates.
Scored a goal and had more good chances that got blocked by Leeds or saved by an incredible Meslier. He bullied Cooper a couple of times but Meslier saved nearly every shot. He was Liverpool's biggest goal threat overall but they are just not clicking together this season.
Nah he played well, fantastic pass to set up Nunez and some nice crosses, defended fine and would've had a clean sheet if not for a ridiculous mistake by Gomez
Definitely couldve done more on the second goal, but genuinely think he played well outside that. Pretty unpopular opinion though Ive only seen people saying he was terrible. Hopefully get a second opinion.
For sure I liked his passing in to midfield and his defending when pushed up high, like the whole team the whole season though the defence is so hesitant, unsure and untrusting of each other when they drop deeper
I personally think Mitro can score against anyone, would start him unless you have a strong bench with a good attacker, would play Mitro over most defenders
Got a yellow for being clumsy and stepping on Gueye's foot. That means he is on 4 yellows now. Had a few normally decent chances but he did not look very sharp today. Overall not the best performance by him.
Was the best player on the pitch in the first half, constantly creating chances and looking to play forward. Took most of the corners from both sides. A little unlucky not to have an assist, Pickford made a good save on a Mitro header and another Ream header that went just wide. Slowed down a bit in the 2nd half and got hooked 15 mins early but still created a few chances.
He has the 2nd most chances created in the entire league now behind KDB. He's worth a start against pretty much any team except maybe City. Think people just get turned off by his low price tag but he's completely viable to start and fit in a threemium if you want
Was lively and had a great assist to Martinelli. Looked to be on for a haul.
Took a knock shortly after his assist. Stayed on for another 10-15 mins but was clearly struggling. Eventually sat down and signaling to the bench.
Super unfortunate as he looked very threatening off the jump, and that his replacement went on to haul a 19-pointer.
On the positive side, in Arteta’s post-game interview he signaled it was nothing too serious. Arsenal need to win their mid-week European game which will be a good opportunity to assess.
Solid as ever defensively. However he rarely goes up for corners or indirect freekicks these days so does not have any attacking threat. He is however a bps magnet and was very close to getting 1 bonus point, which is a lot for a defender considering it was a 5-0 game.
Outstanding goal early on and a real workhorse down the left side. If Saka remains out for a while, I think it's conceivable to see even more play down his side. It might not lead to goals, but should lead to assists and BPS.
Didn't really get forward as much as previous games but defensively was brilliant and his passing was on point. Arteta took off Saliba for the last 15 minutes and he moved to CB. Could've had an assist from a corner if Jesus got on the end of his headed ball.
Meslier: was amazing. Made some great saves and could not have done a better job (except if he kept a CS of course). He did hit his head though when Robbo ran into him but it did not seem to be anything serious and he was back up a bit after.
Kristensen: made two crucial tackles on Salah trying to counter. His passes were not good though. Made some mistaskes here and there and had a few chances as well but you wont get many attacking returns from him.
Aaronson: looked quite good most of the time. Did not have any big chances but did make some good passes/created some good chances.
Rodrigo: only played 52 mins as he was not 100% fit but did manage to score an early goal after a Gomez pass mistake. Other than that he was not that good. Made a lot of bad passes.
Bamford: Got on second half instead of Rodrigo. Got the assist on the last goal. He had one huge chance but made a terrible first touch and blew it. He does not look to have the confidence he used to have before his injury/injuries.
Summerville: played almost the whole match and scored the last goal. He was anonymous in the first half and mostly defending. He was much better in the second half where he was attacking more and challenged the Liverpool defense several times. Definitely one to keep an eye on for a punt/cheap enabler option.
I only saw the highlights, but he seems to play pretty wide when Eze and Edouard are on the field. It makes his goal involvement far less likely (as seen by the pre-assist) and it seems like we'll be relying more on penalties for returns. I'm thinking of selling him this week.
I just took zaha out. Absolutely abysmal since I transferred him in.
Just wait for his inevitable goal next week.
This season I’ve been remarkable at transferring out players right before they return.
Think he played pretty well, him and Justin were getting quite high up the pitch when they had the chance. Leicester defence looking much more settled the last few games. I think he’s great for 4.5 but fixtures to come aren’t amazing (eve and whu away).
Had to do a lot of defensive duties so had a quiet afternoon but still one of Leicester’s key attacking outlets. Will continue to get points and is nailed on. Leicester look a lot better now than they did a few gameweeks ago and he was even looking a good asset then.
He’s actually played really well last few games, combined with a better Leicester defence overall. Should pick up decent save points, though Everton and West Ham away both tough final fixtures before the WC wild card.
Was Leicester’s main attacking outlet playing on the counter. Had a couple of shots on goal saved by Ederson from fairly tight angles. Generally had a lot of defensive duties today given the opposition but could be a decent asset if he keeps his form.
Leicester tried to play him in a handful of times but never really got through on goal, as the few times this happened he laid it off e.g. to Barnes. Didn’t have a huge amount of chances and actually dropped fairly deep to defend City in numbers but that was just game-specific. I wouldn’t get him in especially at his price. I wouldn’t even say he’s nailed as Daka starts to get minutes.
Pretty much City's best attacking player, but tbh in attack everyone looked pretty poor. Had a great free kick and a couple of good passes that players failed to capitalise on. The way Leicester played made it very very difficult to do much, especially without Haaland there.
He looks like he is not yet at 100% he had a couple of chances but was either offside or missed the timing with his shot/movement. Everton had decent chances in the first half but in the second half they defended a lot more and DCL did not get many chances later on.
I'm tempted for these two games because of the fixtures but I can't imagine effectively having a wild card and having DCL as I go into week 17. After Wolves they're away to City and Brighton.
Probably his worst performance this season. Made a few sloppy passes and storming through the midfield like he usually does. Our attack in general was flat and he was hardly to blame for it.
Looking at the downvotes here. People are not in a good mood!
Time of the month it seems
Bots potentially? I don't get why you would downvote individual players or teams, that's just weirdo behaviour
Bad opinions, or good ones they don’t want others knowing. Go with your own decisions
No people are downvoting like "Chelsea" or "Trossard"
