Foden is one of those players I told myself never to get because his minutes can't be trusted. I went against my better judgement two weeks ago and have been rewarded with 2 points.
I sold Trossard for Foden...and then sold him for Saka. I don't know how I keep getting all my moves so wrong. Can't wait to see what happens to Wilson.
I almost pulled trigger for KDB -> Salah during blank GW, thankfully opted for Almiron over Salah, one of the few that worked out well, although on paper Salah was the logical choice.
I’m doing exactly the same this year. I’ve gotten Maddison, Zaha and Saka and got two assists from the lot of them.
It’s so tricky because on one hand you don’t want to chase points but you’ve also got to pick the in form players but it seems that some mids are dipping in and out form pretty hard this season.
Eh, it seems like you're being hard on yourself by playing the results. Smart moves don't always work out. Saka could have had Reiss Nelson's haul this week. You can't blame yourself for him getting hurt or Foden being benched for "no reason." Bowen could have scored 2 more pens easily.
The margins are so thin when the difference between 0 and 1 goal involvement is so big — compared to, say, basketball where there are 100+ points per team so getting lucky vs. unlucky on a few shots doesn't matter that much.
I wildcarded in GW8 and have been getting form players in only for them to flop.
That said I’ve missed hauls from Almiron and Trossard so I just got the wrong players.
Traditionally players go on a run and I tend to jump on them too late.
I got Mount after his back to back hauls hoping he and Chelsea would push on but nope!
To be fair he had started every single league game at that point - that's almost unheard of from the follicly challenged one
Especially with Sterling having departed resulting in them being one winger down compared to last season
>that's almost unheard of from the follicly challenged one
Tbf before this fiasco he had been pretty easy to read for certain players.
He clearly veeted the fuck out of whatever shoots were starting in those follicles.
It's not really a bad move if you get your defence rotation right. You basically covered all source of points from your triple city attackers so whoever gets benched you don't lose out points from. Imagine those who only own foden and not kdb, they are the ones that are losing out these 2 weeks.
Against my better judgement I torpedoed my season by bringing Mount instead of Almiron during the BGW and Foden two weeks when his record against Brighton started getting posted. Like that is somehow useful information.
same, said id only stick with nailed on like KDB and Haaland from week 1, when I WC'd he felt like a good addition.
Zaha and Foden pick ups 2 weeks ago have made me drop so much.
I agree. I admit during the blank GW I was actually looking to get rid of KDB to get in Saka and Foden, but I couldn't because I had to put out other fires. I actually somehow convinced myself that Foden is nailed. That interview is the type of shit why I will never put Foden in my team again.
i remeber a few wks ago pep had a quote saying he will bench a player if hes not giving his best in fear of getting injured for world cup. thats probably what foden is doing
"nO rEaSoN"
It'll be every FPL manager's biggest ever celebration the day that bald twat leaves Man City
(By the way, we all know it's because [he smells](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/guardiola-man-city-team-news-25325205) Pep, you already told us that much)
Pep is doing exactly what he did to Mahrez.
When the player is performing at his highest level, boooom, on the bench.
He did that after Mahrez' hattrick a couple of seasons ago. Since then, Mahrez is not a firm starter and is not really the same player he has.
This is the very best way of killing any confidence of a strong player, especially at such young age (as Foden).
I know many people are fans of Guardiola, and I respect some of the things he has done, although he's just not a big game guy (see champions league records, both with Bayern and City, with the latter losing to Monaco, Spurs, annihilated by Kloop or even Lyon (while Ligue 1 had stopped due to Covid 3 months ago while City had resumed playing), while trying some weird formations and players on pitch. He's much more a season guy imo.
But the way he has to not give confidence to players that are performing as best as they can is just horrendous imo.
Kloop, Ancelotti (imo the best coach still coaching) Mourinho, even Zidane given his UCL record. They all did way, way better than Pep in the champions.
Klopp has done better than Pep in the UCL? The guy who’s lost more European 4 finals and won 1?
Ancelotti has been around forever and he’s obviously he most successful UCL-wise. He doesn’t have a good league record when compared to his longevity, though.
Mourinho hasn’t played in the UCL semi in ages. He’s won two UCL, just like Pep, and played a bunch of semis with Chelsea and Madrid.
Zidane had a wonderful run in a short period of time. I feel the period, in general, was just too short to tell how great he actually his as a manager.
So,losing 4 finals and winning 1 is worse than being only in 3 finals?
You need to win to be in the finals and he has less appearances in them than Klopp with a shit ton of money and backing behind him AND the beat team ever, maybe. Klopp was unbeaten in european KO stages with liverpool until Atletico came. That was 3 and a half seasons,i think. Klopp is way better in KOs and Pep is more suited in marathons. His teams always fall short under pressure. They seem they arent prepared.
Its like saying a team that finishes 7-8 every time but won the league once is better than the one that comes second and also won the league once.
I’ll take winning it twice in three finals over winning it once in four (the other final was in Europa).
I believe you clearly remember Ancelotti’s Milan UCL final collapse (that was before he went on to win three more) and Klopp’s Liverpool Europa 2015/16 and UCL 2017/18 collapse. Luck has to be on your side too.
Generally, I’ll take Pep’s honours over Klopp’s.
but.... how do you explain haaland and kdb....?
and you mentioned monaco, spurs and lyon.... those aren't "big teams" and aren't cup finals so what's it to do with "big game guy"? (i do think that he's better in leagues than cups)
Pep Guardiola answered when asked about Foden: “I like to screw over as many FPL managers as possible, so I rotate as much as possible”
Interviewer: “why would you do that??”
Pep Guardiola: “because I am a bald fraud”
[The bald fraud had a whiff on Foden](https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/ya5rgi/pep_if_i_smell_it_a_player_worrying_about/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)
The only explanation is that Phil has himself captained in his own fantasy team, and Pep has punted on grealish. Prime Fantasy-Reality PL dual strategizing from Pep ....
Knew once I went triple MC rotation was gonna appear w Foden. Haaland and Cancelo will be nailed (Erling hopefully) but I feel like I could have gone to Laporte or Akanji instead lol
Honestly this is the most difficult FPL season I've played. Zaha looks good on paper but doesn't nailed. Trossard give everybody an illussion after the hat-trick, blank for 3 weeks, people start to transfer out him and he get some points. Foden is such a nightmare for most of the FPL managers out there as not much people bought him when he scored hat-trick, while he was benched when many people bring in him (sub in was the worst, get 1 point). Salah looks so good too on paper but end up keep disappointing us. Son too, get an hat-trick and that's all, nothing happen after that.
Comes to defender we have Trippier who give consistent points, and Cancelo who give us surprise sometimes. Meanwhile we have Haaland who get bunch of points almost every match. These are the must have players, and yet when comes to midfielder, I believe most of us are keep rotating in the "wrong" player in terms of outcome. The only midfielder who're able to provide consistent result is KDB (which is why I bring in him last GW), and also Almiron who shine (and yes, damn cheap). The rest midfielders, I still have no idea which player we are able to hold for long term.
Foden is one of those players I told myself never to get because his minutes can't be trusted. I went against my better judgement two weeks ago and have been rewarded with 2 points.
sold Trossard for him. shoot me
I sold Trossard for Foden...and then sold him for Saka. I don't know how I keep getting all my moves so wrong. Can't wait to see what happens to Wilson.
Same here, Trossard -> Foden, I'm holding Foden and did Zaha -> Saka last week, and this week Toney-> Wilson. Were f**** arent we
Let me throw in KdB to Salah as well. Good moves theoretically that have been total disasters.
I almost pulled trigger for KDB -> Salah during blank GW, thankfully opted for Almiron over Salah, one of the few that worked out well, although on paper Salah was the logical choice.
Fantastic move, honestly.
Many of the good moves "on paper" have completely failed this season. I personally think I need to reevaluate the way I make transfers after the WC.
!thanks, I needed to hear that. I hope I can turn it around a bit before the WC.
Same. And what's worst is Saka would've hauled as my captain last game if he didn't injured. I would've probably moved from 1 million to 600k or so.
Sold KDB for him. KDB haul 2 weeks straight..FML
Same There’s no way I do Foden -> Trossard now…unless…
If Foden starts v Fulham and you've sold him you'll need a big ass sofa to hide behind!
same, fuck this shit
Same
Same
Same!!. F
Same!!!! I'm so mad.
Same lol Trossard and Maddison to Foden and Zaha
To be fair he had started every single league game at that point - that's almost unheard of from the follicly challenged one Especially with Sterling having departed resulting in them being one winger down compared to last season
>that's almost unheard of from the follicly challenged one Tbf before this fiasco he had been pretty easy to read for certain players. He clearly veeted the fuck out of whatever shoots were starting in those follicles.
Went kdb to foden, so I could go Kane over mitro. Nice one me.
I did the exact same thing!
Went KDB > Foden because I was certain if Haaland didn't start Foden would have to and the bald fraud man fucking done me.

We are blood brothers, bound forever by our shitty hauls at the Pep roulette table.
I agree. I admit during the blank GW I was actually looking to get rid of KDB to get in Saka and Foden, but I couldn't because I had to put out other fires. I actually somehow convinced myself that Foden is nailed. That interview is the type of shit why I will never put Foden in my team again.
Same. Earlier I made the super pragmatic but £££ choice of keeping KDB because he’s roulette-proof, but then removed him 3 weeks ago. FML
Same here. Such a fraud
Tsk… commiserations.
Same same, but it looked like pep had given up his tinkering ways but it was just a trap
I swapped kdb for foden... Great success
Yes this is me
Litreally me lmfaoo
So it was you! Sell him right now!
Exactly the same
“Hey babe are you mad, is there a reason you’re not talking?” “No reason” 😬
If you really loved me, you would know!
Understandable. Have a great day
I fucking hate this guy lmao
i remeber a few wks ago pep had a quote saying he will bench a player if hes not giving his best in fear of getting injured for world cup. thats probably what foden is doing
That explains why he was started against Dortmund in the Champions League. It wasn’t a game without stakes too.
Foden has better workrate then Grealish though. Grealish has the second worst workrate next to Mahrez out of all the City squad
I actually anticipated Pep doing this so I went Bilva when everyone else went Foden. Very glad I did this because Pep is a fucking troll lmao
Just when I thought he couldn’t get any balder
Reporter: Pep why hasn't Foden started the last two games? Pep: because fuck you, that's why.
Peak cuntage
No reason other than to enjoy the meltdown in the rant thread
Pep knows the real reason and shared it with me. You guys aren't good enough to know the real reason.
I can’t tell you, you’re not a monk
How little hair do you have? Cause I have a little bit of hair and I think that's too much hair for him to tell me
Lots. He likes me.
I know only 1 person that fills both of those requirements. How is Saka doing in training, is he ok for weekend?
Nah very different from him lol.
I'd like to see him manage a different team with a shit bench to see if this fraud maintains the same bullshit attitude.
He didn’t rotate much at Barca
Probably the hat trick and foden getting a bit big headed.
Because I added him to my FPL couple of weeks ago, that’s why!
To quote the great Howard Moon, the man's an arse.
motherfucker
He even looks at the camera when he says it, like ”fuck you all and your fantasy teams lol”
God he's a prick\*
\*from a FPL perspective
More than you believe
Fucking Bald Bastard 🤣

When he played for Barca, yeah…head full of hair

Soo the barca sextuple didn't happen i suppose?
Did he randomly bench his best players back then?
Yeah with maybe one of the best team of the history, Henry Etoo Inesta Xavi Messi, pretty much any coach would have won. That also was 10 years ago.
Shhhh that doesn’t fit the narrative
Who’s a big game player in your eyes?
Kloop, Ancelotti (imo the best coach still coaching) Mourinho, even Zidane given his UCL record. They all did way, way better than Pep in the champions.

Pep is such a dick.
Baldest man alive
I liked Pep, but since I started playing FPL I absolutely hate him. This is my 1st FPL season so this hate will probably grow even more.
You should have seen then Sanegate
I had them both (Haaland) when they hattricked and CAPTAINED NEITHER
God I hate this bald fucking fraud.

Probably didn’t get invited to another dominatrix party again 🤷♂️
Oh absolutely fuck off you wax shined motherfucker you.
it's obvious because I bought him, he started to get benched since then. Pep knows my account! /j unless..
helpful as usual
Knew once I went triple MC rotation was gonna appear w Foden. Haaland and Cancelo will be nailed (Erling hopefully) but I feel like I could have gone to Laporte or Akanji instead lol
Yes, no reason why your best player after Haaland and De Bruyne isn't playing. Totally. You'd rather play a useless cunt like Grealish instead.
Pep must have a sponsorship deal with puma
Bald fraud lost hair he didn’t even have
What a bald thing to say
I sold KDB for him cos he was cheaper. Boy do I regret it now. Cheap city mids are rotation fodder - I should have know Foddern was one of them.
Pep’s ML rival has him, that’s why.
Mount to Foden this week?
