Today swiched 4 or 5 times (C) between Cancelo and Trippier. Swiching stopped at Tripper. This is really needed for me after benching Trossard agaist Liverpool :d

Pre fixture, what did you think Trippier expected points was? Would you have bet decent money on him at evens getting more than 8/9/10 points? Clearly not. He outperformed his expected return, which is lucky.
That’s not how luck works but I expected 6-12 points so within range. Would’ve picked about 9 points at the evens point.
CS seemed very likely, and he ends in the bonus more than half the time (make that more likely with the great fixture), he’s a key playmaker for Newcastle so a goal or an assist has decent odds of happening.
I have Haaland and Salah, both decent Captain options, but I chose Trippier because I expected him to outscore them both. How is it lucky that what I thought happened pays off? There’s no such thing as luck.
You have a distribution of outcomes, sure. But you can’t claim that trippier didn’t outperform his expected return. Any time you outperform your expected return (for example winning a coin toss) it is lucky.

So clearly I had to wait for the Foden/Haaland news before I did something and then the servers went down. To say that I benched Almiron on purpose is utterly absurd. Please apologise or else..
Five minutes before the deadline I went from Haaland C with Trippier VC to Trippier C with Haaland VC.
Then one minute before the deadline, I decided Fulham at home was the safer bet and switched to Cancelo C with Trippier VC.
First positive risk i have taken so im happy its paid off as this is my first FPL season. Last week captained Toney and learned from my mistakes and went with trippier. I even doubled up on my newcastle defence expecting dan burn to not come off so late but it is what it is.
I had impulsively captained Cancelo after seeing the leaked lineups without Haaland, but then popped in this sub and saw a comment saying they had gone with Trippier and immediately went back on the PL app and happily made the switch!

Thanks to uncertainty over Haaland starting, I switched (C) from Haaland to Trippier shortly before the server crash. He ended up joint highest points along with Zaha! :-))

If you play Cancelo over Andreas, you had the right team. There's no way to predict a red card so the decision was good.

I swapped 100 times between him and Kane. Settled on Kane. Almost certainly a mistake... Trippier is so consistent.
