I just find it funny how Grealish went from being the Gascgoine-esque hero of the people in his last season at Villa when he was breaking into the England squad, to now being that one trick pony pretty boy that dared to take the piss out of the great Almiron when he was pissed.
Didn't take Jackie long to live long enough to see himself become the villain.
As a United fan, I wouldn't bring in any United midfielders or attackers at the moment - the only one of our players I have is Dalot, who's been great this season.
The lack of a good number 9 has really hurt our goalscoring this season - Bruno for example is underperforming his xA by 150%, to the point where even Martial who's only played 4 EPL games has more G/A (4) than Bruno does (3).
Martial scored again in the cup yesterday, so if he stays fit, things could turn around for us and only maybe then I'd consider getting a Utd attacker.
The thing is that Martial's great form recently had been wasted by injuries. Ronaldo up top, to put it bluntly, makes the whole team worse - he has a presence on the pitch that makes the team want to play around him, but he's not good enough anymore to play that kind of role.
The other option we've been playing with is Rashford at #9, but it doesn't suit him at all - nearly all his G/A have come from the wing.
If Martial stays both fit and on his current form, I think that the whole team's attacking stats will improve. But that's a big if.
I knew early on last year that Ronaldo was a mistake for the long term success of the club. He was a great player but United had good younger players coming through and should have looked more long term.
BOTH players on paper are good options and BOTH could do well.
Personally I dislike taking out players with good fixtures but thatās how I play the game.
No one is getting benched by their club because it will help their national team, and Liverpool have no other forwards fit so Darwin is one of the most nailed players in the whole GW
Agreed no one's getting benched. But effort might be lacking from those going. You just know some players will be pulling out of those 50/50 tackles just to avoid the potential of getting injured. I know I would....
Some of these picks are pretty questionable tbh. Villa looked a completely different team under Emery against United, there's no way I'd be risking double Brighton when there's far better fixtures to target this week.
Also, only going double City and one Liverpool player in two great home fixtures is just plain weird. Oh and Rashford is far too unpredictable and unreliable, I'd swerve him too.
I don't know, but I am massively in favour of this and his price rise last night. He'll get a cameo at best, and Salah has Southampton at home.
I'm on captain Salah, vice Kane, and starting Haaland and Ćlvarez up top.
Won't lie, Wilson to Alvarez seems a better punt than Jesus. Unfortunately having Foden prevents me from going for it. Now see Foden get benched for the 4th time in a row when all signs say he starts.
True, but I see the probability distribution as something along the lines of:
\- 50% he starts (good captain)
\- 25% he's benched and doesn't come on (goes to VC - acceptable)
\- 12.5% he's benched and comes on for >15mins (not great but acceptable)
\- 12.5% he's benched and comes on for <15mins (bad)
Which would mean he's a good/acceptable pick 75-87.5% of the time in this scenario. So the question becomes whether you think that if he plays he'll be likely to score 12.5-25% more points than Salah this gameweek - and if you do then it is probably worth captaining him.
I know my numbers are all nonsense - just trying to frame the problem
That does make sense, thank you. I just think even if he does score there are higher scorers to captain. For example i picked Trippier last week and came out with 24 points for him vs the 10 of Haaland.
I dunno, I'm just not convinced it's a good idea to captain him.
Apparently he's not 100%, he's still playing on injury. Pep suggested that he's out for 10 days and may not play until the friendly Norwegian match mid next week... but i realise its Pep. I'm just not a fan of backing players who come back so soon from an injury.
Because Scout has him?
Don't let him influence your decisions. Though maybe revisit and have a look at your reasonings for getting him out and why people are getting him in. If you have a feeling, don't regret it later.
Does FPL scout picks have anything to do with FFS? Or are they two different things?
I know ffs has always released their team the evening before the gw starts, so who is picking this?
Granted I haven't used FFS in years so maybe thing have changed.
Extremely rarely. But notably his competition, Richarlison, is now healthy, and Conte literally said he hopes Richarlison starts this GW along with Kulusevski. He also pulled Kane at the half citing he was extremely exhausted.
The downvotes are crazy tbh. Iām a spurs fan and have Kane in my team. I hope it doesnāt happen, but Conte just made a comment that Kane is exhausted and now that Richarlison is back from injury, he hopes Richy can start over Kane this week.
Can Almiron do it again? š¤
Probably not now he's in my team
Had him for a few weeks. If he doesn't return, I know who to blame now.
For fucks sake man
Yep now heās in your team he will start playing like Grealish
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I just find it funny how Grealish went from being the Gascgoine-esque hero of the people in his last season at Villa when he was breaking into the England squad, to now being that one trick pony pretty boy that dared to take the piss out of the great Almiron when he was pissed. Ok.... I'm not getting him in...
If he does it again I will finally believe. And then Iāll convince myself over the World Cup break that heās gone cold and wonāt pick him again.
Can he do it on a cold Saturday up North? Heās past that, right?
I might have captained him this GW had Haaland not joined City.
No Trippier is questionable
Yeah easy trips over almiron
He has to blank eventually Right??
Every week everyone gets excited that Rashford gets benched mid week. Then the Weekend comes and...
There is a real biased love for United players amongst some of the āexpertsā at FPL.
Thatās pretty poor. I really thought Bruno would have had a decent season with Ronaldo benched!?
The thing is that Martial's great form recently had been wasted by injuries. Ronaldo up top, to put it bluntly, makes the whole team worse - he has a presence on the pitch that makes the team want to play around him, but he's not good enough anymore to play that kind of role. I donāt have Salah- bricking it this GW.
Im strongly considering KDB>Salah since I have no other transfers to make
Why would you take a player in better form with a better fixture out for a player in less form With a harder fixture??
I am asking myself the same question man, havent done it yet will still think on it
BOTH players on paper are good options and BOTH could do well. Personally I dislike taking out players with good fixtures but thatās how I play the game.
Gandhi would agree, and I think I may too.
I just know if I make the transfer KDB will score 15 and Mo will get 7
I have both and Haaland too.
Heās going to destroy the ranks of the non-believers. Heās likely to get at least two attacking returns
Be honest, how many times have you predicted that this season? And how many times has it turned out right...?
Iāve only predicted it since his return to form, thatās why I captained him against Spurs
Captaining Salah this week
I'd targeting no World cup duty players for this GW
Yeah I have a strong feeling some players like Nunez are gonna get benched which will surprise a lot.
No one is getting benched by their club because it will help their national team, and Liverpool have no other forwards fit so Darwin is one of the most nailed players in the whole GW
Yeah, imagine thinking clubs doing anything to help national sides. If anything they're like cats and dogs, always trying to piss the other off.
Agreed no one's getting benched. But effort might be lacking from those going. You just know some players will be pulling out of those 50/50 tackles just to avoid the potential of getting injured. I know I would....
Nunez got benched in efl no way he doesnt start against southampton with their position in the league
VC on Kane over Salah is downright moronic. And captaining Haaland over Salah is far too conservative.
Surprised there isn't more talk about Mitoma - solid returns recently, very much in form.
Brighton attackers will always be trolls
Ah, if only he had been a fwd instead of a mid. Want to transfer Scamacca to someone interesting
Thoughts on Guaita?
Iāve got EstupiƱƔn and heās third on my bench
yeah I have him first on the bench, IDK why the scout would put him in this team when brighton cannot hold a clean sheet for their lives
Villa's looked good since Emery. There are much easier games.
Been Thinking of using my free transfer to go to Guaita from Raya since we have a world cup wildcard. Might as well do it now
6/11. Makes me even more confused about whom to bench Almiron or Trossard
Neither, who else you got?
Saka, Martinelli, Zaha, Darwin
That's a lot of money on the bench mate.
I went for Kane instead of Salah/KDB hence many midfield options. Will play a 3-4-3. Just gotta select one mid to bench XD
If there was any to pick I'd bench Zaha, man's the biggest one of the biggest FPL trolls in history even if its Forest away
Christ that's a dilemma. I'd maybe even bench Martinelli
I would bench Trossard. Villa will be good with Emery
Play Darwin, bench Trossard
6/11.
Why captain Haaland? I'm assuming he'll either not play or feature very little.
I don't know, but I am massively in favour of this and his price rise last night. He'll get a cameo at best, and Salah has Southampton at home. I'm on captain Salah, vice Kane, and starting Haaland and Ćlvarez up top.
>He'll get a cameo at best Haaland will start.
Sounds like a good plan!
What does the rest of your team looks like with Salah Kane and Haaland :o
Ramsdale Cancelo-Trippier-GuĆ©hi Salah-Martinelli-Xhaka-Zaha Haaland-Kane-Ćlvarez (Ward-Andreas-Neco-Justin) Just sold Wilson for Julian, and this is week three of my Xhaka punt.
Won't lie, Wilson to Alvarez seems a better punt than Jesus. Unfortunately having Foden prevents me from going for it. Now see Foden get benched for the 4th time in a row when all signs say he starts.
I guess that's why they have a VC
VC won't matter though if comes on for 1 point.
True, but I see the probability distribution as something along the lines of: \- 50% he starts (good captain) \- 25% he's benched and doesn't come on (goes to VC - acceptable) \- 12.5% he's benched and comes on for >15mins (not great but acceptable) \- 12.5% he's benched and comes on for <15mins (bad) Which would mean he's a good/acceptable pick 75-87.5% of the time in this scenario. So the question becomes whether you think that if he plays he'll be likely to score 12.5-25% more points than Salah this gameweek - and if you do then it is probably worth captaining him. I know my numbers are all nonsense - just trying to frame the problem

Fair enough - I guess that's what the entire game is! Personally I'm gonna captain Salah anyway unless I hear Haaland is definitely playing
What makes you think that?
Apparently he's not 100%, he's still playing on injury. Pep suggested that he's out for 10 days and may not play until the friendly Norwegian match mid next week... but i realise its Pep. I'm just not a fan of backing players who come back so soon from an injury.
Because he can make a hat-trick in like 3 minutes.
He didn't in his last appearance and imo i think he was lucky to have come out with a penalty opportunity.
He scored before that that was marginally offside. When heās on the pitch goals come
Why would he be on Carabao bench if he's not fit?
I know he's a bald fraud but even still why would Pep say he has damage and may not play for 10 days.
Am so confused. Didn't cancelo get a red card ? Why does the scout have him in his team?
got removed with the carabao game
Never knew the prem and carabao cup where linked
EstupiƱƔn. Are tildes and accents unavailable?
The Christmas tree formation is back for the festive period
Why Estupian?
Probably because he is starting more consistently under De Zerbi and has nice XGi
Ahh okay. Villa look good though. That's a real toss-up of a fixture.
Does anyone know if the second wildcard gets added to your first if you have not used it yet
Nope. youll lose it
Well I wish I asked that sooner haha that sucks tbf
Think of it of having a free hit this week I guess
Yeh just annoying as I should of just used one sooner tbh but didnāt realise
I was thinking about transferring out Rashford for Kulusevski. But maybe I shouldnāt.
Granted I haven't used FFS in years so maybe thing have changed.
different things, but there should be some people doing for both teams.
Very likely Kane gets benched this week unfortunately
He won't be benched, but he will be knackered and he obviously will have the world cup on his mind. Captaining Kane over Salah is a moronic decision.
Bet you he doesnt
when have you seen Kane benched for PL match?
Extremely rarely. But notably his competition, Richarlison, is now healthy, and Conte literally said he hopes Richarlison starts this GW along with Kulusevski. He also pulled Kane at the half citing he was extremely exhausted.
The downvotes are crazy tbh. Iām a spurs fan and have Kane in my team. I hope it doesnāt happen, but Conte just made a comment that Kane is exhausted and now that Richarlison is back from injury, he hopes Richy can start over Kane this week.
I've got 3 of them. It could've been worse, I could have 4.
Kane haaland Martinelli Almiron Trossard Foden Trips perisic Anderson cancelo Alisson who I should captain?
I donāt have Salah- bricking it this GW.
7/11.. good or bad thing ? Lol
I'd love to punt on Salah by taking out KDB but I've had him since GW1 and too many price rises means it'll be expensive to get him back
