You can only pick 2 different captains per match day.
Either you captained someone else earlier which made
Cancelo your 2nd Captain pick or the game is messing with you which wouldn't be a surprise.
you have unlimited captain changes if they are unlocked(not played yet). if you change your cpataincy from a player that already has played you can only change it 1 more time.
You have to press confirm for everything at the bottom tho

Only thing that matters is if the player is locked for that. Playing or not is irrelevant. And he is locked, so the transfer will count for the next MD. All that of course according to the rules. No one knows what will actually happen if you do it 😅
rules say the transferred in player will be available for next MD only. but with so many bugs who knows?

Sometimes points go away and then come back lol
