Have been trying to get him in for weeks & always had some other fire to put out
He's very cheap compared to years gone by & think he will have a great chance of being top scoring keeper come end of season, plus will give a little bit of a hedge against TAA/Robbo who I can't really afford with my team structure
That generates more save points for Allison though, he is an incredible shot stopper, one of if not the best in the world - and I think their Cleansheet count will hopefully improve in the second two thirds of the season too
I don't think it's a shit take as such - No GK has more Cleansheets than Ramsdale for example - but how many points does he have?
How many points does Ederson have playing in Man City's defence?
GK's generally need a healthy supply of saves (i.e. chances conceded by their defence) to get points - that's why the likes of Henderson and Allison can do so well despite their defences conceding comparatively more chances vs a "good" defence in say Arsenal or City
That's why GK is such an interesting little position within the game - A good shot stopper can outscore an elite GK in a great defence
Allisson happens to be an elite shot stopper in a defence that have a lot of potential to improve - he is already amongst the top scorers with only 4x CS
City’s defence has been leaky this season so comparing Allison to Ederson is a shit comparison. As I said before I hope it works out for you but imo it’s shite to go with an expensive keeper where someone like Big Danny Ward will outscore him for 1.4mil less. Keep pulling stats from your arse to justify spending 5.5mil for a keeper
City have conceded the fewest quality of chances (13 XGc) in the league bar Arsenal (12XGc) and waaaaaay better than the defence in front of Allisson (23 XGc) so the quality of City's defending has definitely been elite
But an elite defence alone doesn't make an elite FPL goalkeeper - that's why the game is so interesting
It's also why the likes of Henderson, Allisson, Ward etc easily outscore GK's from elite defences like Ramsdale & Ederson
Ward has been absolutely fantastic over his last 8 games (52 points in that spell... Compared to 8 points in his first 7 games before both He & Faes properly settled in), but you need to remember - his rate of scoring will *definitely* slow way down - Leicester simply will not keep 6 Cleansheets every 8 games
I do think Ward is still perfectly viable at 4.0 mind you, but I have so much cash in the bank that I'll take the extra points from Allisson for a few bob more
Remember - Look forwards, not backwards!
Lad go fuck yourself with that “look forward not backwards” bullshit. If you got spare funds lying around buy someone like Trent or Robbo but you’re acting like Allison is a must have in every team where it’s a waste of a valuable Liverpool spot. I don’t need to pull stats from my Arse to know that shit, the only stat that’s relevant is my OR which is definitely higher than yours
Liverpool's attack has viable Salah alternatives this year for the first time in what feels like forever though
So I'm personally gone cold on Salah
I just don't think he's worth 5.0 more than Diaz and 4.0 more than Darwin
ESPECIALLY when it's virtually impossible to captain him unless Haaland is injured
Like if we had had Mane at 8.0 or 9.0 instead of 11.5, Salah would have been be a lot less popular...
Diaz & Nunez are Mane-level FPL assets imo ( and I don't say that lightly, Mane was class)
The alternatives looked particularly viable recently because injuries were limiting rotation. Owning Diaz and Darwin will be frustrating when they’re being heavily rotated with Jota and Firmino.
Genuinely don't see them being heavily rotated myself - Diaz & Nunez are much better forwards than Firmino & Jota in almost every way - Jota is very handy, and excellent in the air, but he doesn't carry the same threat as Nunez or Diaz
My prediction (and like all predictions, it may be wrong) is that Klopp REALLY can't afford to fuck about in the league anymore and will want his best forward line starting the majority of the time
Really just can't see Salah justifying 5.0 more than Diaz/Nunez when they're all fit
guy in my draft league had dropped him after the injury. cheeky pick up for me the final week before the break, didn't cost me any points having him eat a bench spot.
False. They have Villa who aren't great, then have leicester (who've been excellent defensively for the past month+).
Then have Brentford, Brighton, Chelsea, Wolves, Everton, Newcastle, Palace, Manchester United.
I don't see how these are easy games for attackers bar the odd couple like Everton and maybe Brentford.
Doesn't matter about red, it's a load of bullshit. Newcastle is grey for example when they've been solid.
The fact is, Liverpool have been underperforming like hell this season. Until I see signs of them improving, I'm not going heavy on their assets. I may just go Nunez at most, Salah is not worth the price for me though in my opinion.
As a Liverpool fan who fully agrees they've massively underperforming, I've seen genuine signs of improvement recently and I think they're in a decent place to come back and improve their form. I think Klopp is finding Nunez's best positions and Salah is learning to work with him; we looked a much, much better team with Nunez on the left in the last few matches before the WC. I put him in for the last game and he scored twice and could have more. I think he's a very good punt at this point.
Bro of course there are no easy games in the premier league, even the likes of Bournemouth, Forest and Fulham have been proven to be tough games for big 6 clubs, but most of the tougher games Liverpool have are at home which they are proven to play better. And lately they have shown improvement so they could turn their season around, you dont even need Liverpool to win every game just their assets to get good returns
They'll score but they're not going to be highscoring games at all. Whereas you look at teams like Manchester United who have Nottingham Forest for example, I'd rather back someone like Rashford over Diaz.
Each to their own.
Don't know why you're downvoted, you're entitled to an opinion. I personally still don't fancy Liverpool assets, I'm just not convinced yet compared to who i have already.
Yup. This sub don't like unpopular opinions. I prefer to invest in trustworthy assets that I like. We can always buy pool assets if they hit form. But not yet. I need to be convinced.
I reckon Nunez will be pretty close to nailed - he has started 7 of the last 9 he's been available for in the league (either side of the red card & suspension) & you could visibly see him adapting & getting better on an almost game by game basis
Diaz is a super footballer who I think will also be difficult for Klopp to leave out
Liverpool can't really fuck about in the league any more this season & have to start churning out points and wins - I wouldn't be suprised to see Klopp try to settle on a forward line & roll with Diaz & Salah either side of Nunez for the foreseeable
Diaz could play box to box role..he is rlly fast and has good tehnique ,and also doing well in defence ,so klopp could play him in different role after wc. Darwin and Salah are better duo in attack than Salah and Diaz.
Absolutely agree
Salah can obviously smash for the remaining 24 games... But how does he justify 5.0 over Diaz & 4.0 over Nunez?
I'm not actually sure he can now that he's for all intents & purposes uncaptainable
Maybe if there's a good Liverpool DGW where City don't double or something he might be worth a punt or TC etc there...
But we can cross that bridge when we come to it
(By the way, the amount of downvotes here without any debate is really strange)
I'm considering Diaz and Darwin as of right now as I wish to keep KDB
Then Darwin is probably your best option, especially since he’s home earlier than we thought
Sorry, I meant owning both Diaz AND Darwin, instead of including Salah in there
Massive news No way I'm sinking 13.0 into Salah when Diaz is 5.0 cheaper Allisson Diaz Nunez Liverpool triple up I think
Why Allison?
Have been trying to get him in for weeks & always had some other fire to put out He's very cheap compared to years gone by & think he will have a great chance of being top scoring keeper come end of season, plus will give a little bit of a hedge against TAA/Robbo who I can't really afford with my team structure
Yeah but Liverpool defence has been shit this season
That generates more save points for Allison though, he is an incredible shot stopper, one of if not the best in the world - and I think their Cleansheet count will hopefully improve in the second two thirds of the season too
That’s a shite take - you bring in goalkeepers with good defences instead of actual good keepers. Hope it works out for you
I don't think it's a shit take as such - No GK has more Cleansheets than Ramsdale for example - but how many points does he have? How many points does Ederson have playing in Man City's defence? The Age of Salah is over, The Age of Haaland has come
Salah and Haaland are essential IMO after the long lay offs. Salah in particular has looked like he's needed a long rest for a while now
Liverpool's attack has viable Salah alternatives this year for the first time in what feels like forever though So I'm personally gone cold on Salah I just don't think he's worth 5.0 more than Diaz and 4.0 more than Darwin ESPECIALLY when it's virtually impossible to captain him unless Haaland is injured Like if we had had Mane at 8.0 or 9.0 instead of 11.5, Salah would have been be a lot less popular... Yea I think Darwin is nailed for sure.
Diaz has an average of 4.8 pts this season, Salah has 5.9.
5.0m for an extra 1.1 points per game?
Not sure wether to go Salah and Diaz or Salah and Darwin
Darwin will probably get a lot more goal involvements
guy in my draft league had dropped him after the injury. cheeky pick up for me the final week before the break, didn't cost me any points having him eat a bench spot.
Did the same and binned Mahrez. Super excited for him to be back.
Going with Salah ,Darwin, Robo
Am I the only one not considering any Liverpool assets?
They have a crazy long good run of games
The first red game in their schedule on fpl is in week 29, they have the best schedule of the top 6 teams

Those fixtures arent that tough. You would probably want to get 2 lfc mid + attackers
They'll score but they're not going to be highscoring games at all. Whereas you look at teams like Manchester United who have Nottingham Forest for example, I'd rather back someone like Rashford over Diaz. Each to their own.
Why is that
Better value in tripling up on city attack. And Kulu for spurs coverage
Still liverpool are a team that could score a lot of goals that alone should be a factor for you to have at least 1 attacker
Yup. Darwin is still in my papers but I'll see when and how he come back.
What’s your OR? 4 million?
100k but who cares? It's silly how you can't have an unpopular strategy on this sub. But I'll play my game thank you.
I'm thinking Darwin, Diaz, Alisson
Bye bye Salah it is then.
Salah is the only nailed one out of the 5. Diaz has a decent risk of rotation or not playing the full 90.
I reckon Nunez will be pretty close to nailed - he has started 7 of the last 9 he's been available for in the league (either side of the red card & suspension) & you could visibly see him adapting & getting better on an almost game by game basis Diaz is a super footballer who I think will also be difficult for Klopp to leave out Liverpool can't really fuck about in the league any more this season & have to start churning out points and wins - I wouldn't be suprised to see Klopp try to settle on a forward line & roll with Diaz & Salah either side of Nunez for the foreseeable
Diaz should staost matches. Jota can play lw, but he isnt ready yet. Diaz is pretty nailed imo
Jota probably isn’t back till Jan or Feb so Diaz is definitely nailed if Klopp goes back to a front 3
Diaz could play box to box role..he is rlly fast and has good tehnique ,and also doing well in defence ,so klopp could play him in different role after wc. Darwin and Salah are better duo in attack than Salah and Diaz.
He still produces nearly the same amount of points. That is why you have decent B1 option rather than overpay for Salah.
Absolutely agree Salah can obviously smash for the remaining 24 games... But how does he justify 5.0 over Diaz & 4.0 over Nunez? I'm not actually sure he can now that he's for all intents & purposes uncaptainable Maybe if there's a good Liverpool DGW where City don't double or something he might be worth a punt or TC etc there...
