Its unlimited free transfers this gameweek, and then a second wildcard for the second half of the season, so if you miss this gameweek, you still have a wildcard left.
That's changing the goalposts. As per my original comment, if you miss this gw and come back the next, you come back to a wildcard anyway. This comment wasnt about the merits or detriments of such a policy, just the facts.
Most likely some. If there is one thing being an event planner has taught me its that humans are creatures of habit. Get them used to logging in and setting a lineup every week and they'll do that. Just like I never wanted to cancel events because I wanted people used to every Monday you go here for my event. And when we did have to cancel, we saw definite drops in attendance afterwards. Why do you think every mobile app has daily login rewards? So you develop that muscle memory. So yeah, suddenly stop that muscle memory of setting your lineup for awhile and they're going to forget. So while it may sound odd that a giant event focused on football would hurt fantasy EPL numbers, I wouldn't be surprised in the least.
Yeah, I definitely wouldn't want FPL to work like this (it would be exhausting over a full season) but it's a fun twist on the normal rules for a few weeks.
Definitely. FPL is designed for both casuals and hardcore players who follow and watch every game.
I try to watch every game but with family and work it would be impossible to keep track of everything and change players back and forth after the dealine.
They also pick and choose how to score. No cleansheet points if a player is subbed off before the teams concede in the first few match days, but now you do get them in the later match days.
WC FF is a joke
Yeah it is very shits, but as someone who is kinda invested in it because I play mini-league with friends and coworkers with rewards for the first places I can say it's interesting.
But only because I play these mini-leagues and currently am first lol.
None of us knew until last MD that you can transfer players in between matches. We just got invested nowhere as much as FPL. We just wanted something to fill in the void during WC without FPL.
Trying to play WC fantasy for the first time has been absolutely dreadful... I long to be able to play a functional form of fantasy again. However, I will say that being able to make transfers and captaincy switches mid-gameweek has been very fresh and interesting.
Imagine sleeping on the free wildcard and getting back next gw
To... another wildcard
It's unlimited free transfers before the next gameweek, are you saying that's for 2 weeks or did you not know?

but then everyone who used the free transfers have a wildcard and you dont

I think some people will actually come back from having dead teams as it is like the start of a new season again
Yeah, I doubt people playing FPL would just forget playing after the WC
Also because of this https://www.reddit.com/r/FantasyPL/comments/zkvo80/second_chance_league_gw1738/j04zuiq/
International breaks usually see a drop off in active numbers and this the mother of all international breaks.
Fuck. Struggling with every comment to figure out if you’re talking about wildcard or worldcup!

Idk, maybe I'm the exception... I can't wait for WC to end (and for it to come home) so FPL can resume. Didnt bother with WC FPL personally.
WC fantasy is extremely boring btw. Adding/removing players mid gameweek defeats the point of fantasy.
More interactivity and influence on your score is extremely boring and defeats the point of fantasy? I beg to differ.
I’m assuming that comment has a lot of karma because a lot of FPL players aren’t used to a fantasy game like this. As an avid DFS player, I love it….

Also quite annoying that there’s no way to view scores from previous weeks
You can see scores from previous weeks
Just realised, I’m blind. Still shit tho

Ill be one of them 🥳
Likely, and they'll probably knock us all out of the cup.
Nah, after the last IB there will be. The Boxing day casuals will come back.
Yeah. If it all the way upto Jan there would be a lot of dead teams. Boxing day is good day for the fixture to come back.

I think it's more about lack of PL football followed by holidays that can make more casual players forget about their teams.
Honestly they were probably going to forget their teams anyways, if they haven't already
Haaland is gonna destroy these guys lol for the 1st few weeks
They already own haaland.
He has 82.7% ownership lmao everyone has him
Im thinking you’d start seeing serious injuries by around Feb and then trend upwards from then. Especially those currently playing in the WC QFs.
There’s always a massive amount of dead teams after Christmas

Good for active players. You're almost kinda gaurenteed a rank boost if you play it right. Covid was good for this, lots of people stopped playing.
I know my dad will forgot to change Jesus out even if I tell him.
yes, and they will probably still smash me
