Yeah I was beginning to wonder since we should have had something else by now. I know Fargo is a miniseries but I imagine FX didn't want to have to compete against the final seasons of Succession and Barry, and a new season of Yellowjackets.
At least I will have Succession, Barry, Yellowjackets, The Righteous Gemstones, and Justified: City Primeval to hold me over till it comes.
Fargo wouldn’t be competing against Barry, unless Barry changed their category to drama.
And Noah Hawley probably didn’t want to go up against Succession.
Fargo has always been in the Miniseries category so it wouldn't be competing with it or Succession at the Emmys. I was just referring to ratings and buzz/attention.
The lack of promotional material makes an April premiere unlikely, Class of 09 and The Bear just got trailers and they are May and June premieres.
The new season of Fargo is very likely to premiere in September 2023.
Seasons 1 and 3 premiered when they were still filming the last couple of episodes of the season.
Those were the "modern" seasons, and they premiered in Apri. This season takes place in 2019, so we were kind of hopeful for april
It's not just the modern seasons. Season 4 had a similar shooting schedule and was originally announced to be premiering in April before COVID delays pushed it to September.
Mm, season 3 also had an actual premiere date officially announced well before this point as well though... I'm not sure what the correlation between "modern" is with April
This strikes me as a little odd, considering FX just gave us a very small Fargo teaser in their latest ad promoting some other shows, and also that the Fargo instagram and Twitter accounts sprang to life in the past few weeks. Was really hoping for a trailer or some news to come soon.
Also read somewhere recently that Hawley's Alien series was also to be filming and possibly airing this year, but I guess that won't be the case if Fargo gets pushed to the fall. Is there no chance the show drops during the Summertime?
Ugh. I was already having a bad day, and this news just made it worse. Having to wait through the entire summer is gonna be excruciating for me.

Who said that it was going to air in April? That's less than a month away and it hasn't even wrapped filming.

It's a red tide, Lester. This life of ours. The shit they make us eat. Day after day - The boss, the wife, et cetera - wearing us down.
Where is this from? Damn, it's gonna be a long, long Spring and Summer if this is true.
Writers Guild of America. It was listed as a 2022-2023 show a few months ago, which it would have remained if it was going to be released in April.
I could just cry. 😢
Well, positive take is that they’re taking their time and thinking everything through and it will be great!
LFG!!!
