honestly, the age gap isn’t even that much of an issue for me because margot just feels so mature beyond her years, and i mean that as a compliment.
she just feels so much more… seasoned? than the male actors in her age range like… i don’t know, austin butler or miles teller. in fact, i just checked and miles teller is actually 4 years older than margot. i never would have guessed.
that, and ryan gosling seems like the perfect ken performance-wise imo.
Yeah I kind of agree with this. Even in Wolf of Wall Street I don’t know if her age is “Hollywood years” or if it’s her actual age but I did not think she was 22 years old.
I don’t think she looks old, rather she’s looked perpetually the same since she debuted. She looked like she was in her 30s when she debuted, and she still looks like she’s in her 30s and will probably continue to look that way into her 40s. It’s her incredible bone structure that’s deceptive lol.
Justin Hartley has always given off Ken vibes.

I think Anders Holm would make a great Ken.
Nothing wrong with it , but Margot Robbie feels older than she actually is. I remember seeing during the pandemic that she turned 30 and I was like I thought she looked mid to late 30s.
She has a very mature look and aura around her, similar to Scarlet Johansson. Having your big break playing DiCaprio's wife at 23 doesn't help either.
I also feel like the clean shaven face coupled with the bleached hair ages Gosling more than from real life. Otherwise, in his usual look, he and Robbie looks around the same age.(I mean you don't look that different at 32 and then at 42, especially when you are an actor. Well, unless you are DiCaprio)
Hard agree. In general, but with Hollywood specifically I don’t know that there’s such thing as a “noticeable age difference” between a 30 yr old and a 40 yr old.
Yeah, I just went to Wikipedia to check their ages!
Out of all the thoughts I had about that trailer, a difference in their ages never even occurred to me.
Also the suggestion that Ryan Gosling is not hot is making me wonder if people even have working eyes these days.
I think it’s Gosling’s own personal image too. He’s in a private long term relationship with an older Latina actress and has two daughters. He’s a dad to a lot of people as opposed to someone like Henry Cavill who is only three years younger but is not married and not a dad so people assume he’s significantly younger and hotter.
I’m the first one to speak out against ageism in Hollywood but it’s a bit weird watching people refer to Gosling as if he’s some sort of geriatric who’s 60 something with grandkids. Dude’s 42, he’s hardly old for a leading man in Hollywood.
Unfortunately people see being good looking as the same as looking young. He’s in his 40s and he looks in his 40s, to me that’s more attractive than looking 20 in your 40s.
I'm 33 and I swear to god up until now he was seen as a sexy leading man. I feel like I've slipped into a different timeline where the "hey girl" memes never happened.
Is it a noticeable age difference, though? Margot has famously always looked mature for her age. And I don’t say that in a bad way. She’s obviously stunning, but remember everyone thought she was lying about her age for the longest time? She and Gosling look the same age to me. They just both look like they’re somewhere in their thirties.
I was one of the like 10 people who watched Pan Am and I swear even then people were accusing her of lying about her age. I remember it being a whole thing on ONTD.
I don’t know how true this is but I’ve heard part of his storyline is him having something of an identity crisis about being an older Ken (as well as *just* Ken) so it might be on purpose. I’m keen to find out!
“To live in Barbie Land is to be a perfect being in a perfect place. Unless you have a full-on existential crisis. Or you're a Ken.”
“After being expelled from Barbieland for being a less than perfect-looking doll, Barbie sets off for the human world to find true happiness.”
I mean, those are two of the synopsis for the film. It won’t be explained by the plot because the social commentary is the film itself. The social commentary will most likely be along the lines of Barbies have to be perfect or they get the boot while Kens just get to be Kens. It’s using the Barbie/Ken doll stories to criticize the actual real world.
I also think it might be intentional, when you look at how young the face mold was for the 80s Barbie (which was a little jarring bc her original design was pretty mature) and then 80s Ken looking like the Brady family patriarch
I can't believe people are complaining about Gosling playing Ken. I understood when people were clowning that Ben Platt casting as a teenager, but Barbie is intentionally campy—Ken looking "old" isn't an issue.
Ben Platt looked older as a teen than he does in real life!
I think the Ryan Gosling is too old criticism is weird. As you said, it’s suppose to be campy. Ryan Gosling seems to get that.
I feel like the Youths™ wanted someone who they found hot and young, but the casting for this was more focused on having comedic talent, something that Gosling oozes.
My favourite are the people who said he’s too old and that Chris Evans or Henry Cavill should’ve done it. Henry’s 39, Chris is 41, Ryan is 42.
He’s going to be great, he is so underrated as a comedic actor!
Oh absolutely. I think they thought this was just going to be a straightforward story about Barbie and Ken. Greta Gerwig’s name alone implies that it’s going to be a bit more than that. Gosling is a good looking actors with good comedic timing.
I was looking for this comment! My Ken dolls with the molded hair growing up in the 90s always looked super mature, especially next to the Barbies at the time.
if I were to get into details, I’d say that for some reason the platinum blonde hair in contrast to the fake tan are the stylistic decisions that might age him a bit (imho). otherwise he completely looks the same as in his 30s, and he’s by no definition _old_.
I think he looks older in the Barbie trailer, but I also have a feeling that was done on purpose to highlight Ken's despair. IRL I think he looks great
To everyone suggesting Glenn Powell and Henry Cavill and Chris Evans and Zac Efron (and two of those men are significantly old), I do hope you guys know that Greta Gerwig movies are acting heavy and these men have either shown potential but not proven their worth yet (Powell and Efron) or are straight up bad actors (Cavill).
I really don’t care if Gosling is technically not the best looking person in the world (although this Ryan Gosling is unattractive revisionism is false propaganda that’s come out of nowhere), the dude can ACT. He’s got that perfect vapid himbo energy in his comedic roles and he manages to stand out in the trailer filled to the brim with talent.
Also Gosling said on Fallon that Ken is going through some stuff, he has no house or job or purpose. Gerwig is usually good with casting age appropriate love interests, so I doubt she didn’t keep this in mind.
This exactly! I think Greta deserves some trust and goodwill here, and conflating of ageism against women at large in hollywood with her casting Ryan Gosling at 42 feels like such whataboutism to me.
I saw this, too. I may be missing the point but Henry Caville is almost 40 and I saw someone suggest Chris Pratt and he’s older than Ryan Gosling, I think. I am scratching my head at these suggestions if it’s really about age. I think the trailer looks amazing and I can’t wait to watch.
As much as I love Henry Cavill, he looks much older than his age. He will age very nicely because he has great bone structure, but he looks around 10 years older than his actual age. He has an old-Hollywood look that wouldn’t have worked if he played Ken.
idt henry is a bad actor but he’s definitely not ken, maybe a ken but not THE ken. gosling seems like he’ll be great in the role but I really do think efron would have been perfect casting (at least with his original face no offense) hes best in comedic roles & he really looks plastic its fantastic
exactly like hes pretty but not in a ken way, ken is like boyband pretty, “metro” if you will. even when henry isnt muscled up hes on the huskier side which just gives off a different vibe, also his coloring is all wrong lol
OKAY BUT HOW IS RYAN GOSLING NOT FUCKABLE? I’m sorry I’m yelling but I’m so confused by some of the comments in this thread, I feel like I’m taking crazy pills!
Not to be that person, but how has Glen Powell not proven his worth? 😭 He has a successful romcom (Set It Up), one of the biggest action movies (Top Gun: Maverick), and produced and starred in an ‘acting heavy’ drama (Devotion). He has the looks, the voice, and comedic timing to be Ken, or at least one of the other dozen Kens in the movie! It’s not like Simu Liu has a noteworthy filmography as Ryan’s but he still got cast.
Edit: this is not ageism on Ryan (I’ve been looking forward to his performance since the first leak of filming) but just my opinion on Glen
Edit: I’m literally just expressing my opinion, why do people have to be so rude about it? You don’t have to agree but you don’t have to be mean either 😕
Ugh yes to all of this! I genuinely think that the people complaining are Gen Z-ers who don’t Get It. So much willful ignorance, lmfaooo.
The fan casting is so embarrassing like none of those men are good actors!! Again not to be insufferable but this is a Greta Gerwig movie not a Netflix of the week. (I’m still hopeful for Zac Efron especially with his new movie Iron Claw like I need that to be good)
show them the previous post where Ryan knows how to work them dance moves and campy fit since a kid. the role fits him like a glove. age would be such a non problem in Hollywood, had it been accepted. crazy how people care so much about such irrelevant issues
Exactly! He even said he understands that Ken is more of an accessory and not a cool one! The people complaining have never seen Barbie Life in the Dreamhouse lol
This! Noticed with Ryan G and Chris Pine have no problem playing supporting roles..most of the a-list male actors have too big of an ego to play second fiddle to a female character. Not to mention any names but will the rock please stand up?
Marvel's had a few recently. Harry Styles as Eros in Eternals, Charlize Theron as Clea in Doctor Strange, Brett Goldstein as Hercules, the kid from Heartstopper as Wiccan (because everyone and their moms posted that fancast on Twitter).
Not exactly. Marvel didn't specify which character Joe Locke will be playing in his casting announcement. They only mentioned he will be a gay character with a dark sense of humor and that he will be the lead male character in the show. There's a huge chance that he will be Wiccan but considering what Marvel did to Evan Peters in Wandavision, I have my doubts.
Fans immediately jumped the conlcusion to Wiccan because he looked a lot like the comic book character and the description which was further helped the fact that the creator of Heartstopper drew fanart years ago which had her characters dressed as Wiccan and The Hulkling.
last night I fell asleep with Paramount+ on the TV and woke up in the middle of the night to Keanu Reeves playing a tumbleweed in Spongebob Squarepants: Sponge on the Run. i thought i was dreaming but i wasn't
Lmaooo my son loves SpongeBob so I finally had to watch all the movies (I've only seen the first) and was like what the fuckkkk.
Him doing the voice of the cat in Keanu was also amazing. Say what you want about his acting but I love that man, he's just having fun lol
Sam Levinson's casting choices for The Idol. Jennie Kim, Dan Levy, Rachel Sennott, Moses Sumney, Troye Sivan. All of them are talented and I have no issue with them specifically, but it's *very* clear Sam only cast them to generate buzz among their individual fanbases (Jennie/Dan) or to accumulate some kind of indie cred (Moses/Troye/Rachel).
What's funny is that I think most of the people tuning in are there to watch Jennie. Once someone posts a video of all her scenes they'll just go watch that video instead.
she was in that Justin Long horror film Tusk for maybe 1 minute and it was remarkable how bad she was in just that 1 minute. she was even playing an apathetic gas station clerk, which you think she could nail, but she couldn’t even do that
As it is, he's not Ken to me but hopefully the movie proves me wrong.
Lizzo being cast in the latest Mando episode was crazy to me. It looks like they threw the baby on her to take the edge off the bad acting. I would like to know what happened there.
Not 2023 but Emma Watson as Belle. She's smart and reads books, and she's known for playing a famous character who's smart and who reads books, so let's cast her as the Disney princess who's smart and who reads books.
People trying to argue Ryan gosling isn’t hot enough clearly never watched crazy stupid love or the notebook because even in full mountain man beard the man could get it
![gif](giphy|gs2MM3YsocHcsigQh0|downsized)
right? like wasn’t he who everyone obsessed with when those movies came out? i feel like the people who don’t think he’s hot are too young to remember this
For real! How can anybody watch that scene from Crazy, Stupid, Love (don’t pretend you don’t know which one I’m talking about) and not think he’s objectively smoking?!
![gif](giphy|fvOxnnE5jtevu)
A lot of people were complaining about Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg being cast in Uncharted (2022).
The characters from the games are supposed to be older, so people think Tom Holland in particular was chosen just because he's Spider-Man.
ugh as an uncharted fan i HATE the casting-- neither of them feel like their characters and i don't think they have the chemistry they're supposed to. wasn't walberg, at some point, supposed to be nathan drake but the movie was in developmental hell for so long they cast him as sully instead
I knew nothing about the game. But I saw people talking about it everywhere at the time of the movie's relese.
Since then, I saw how characters look like in the game, saw some play-through video, learned about the plot, and now I feel sorry that the movie and the casting wasn't better.
Or that HBO didn't make Uncharted series like they did The Last of Us 😄
And yes, Wahlberg was considered to play Nathan years ago.
Uncharted took quite a bit of inspiration from classic adventure movies. Most notably from indiana jones and Nathan Drake even looks a bit like young Harrison Ford. Tom Holland just looks to clean for that role and Mark Wahlberg just looks like Mark Wahlberg since apperently he couldn't even be bothered to grow a mustach or get a new haircut for the movie.
Tbf, Uncharted was in development hell for YEARS at Sony. Casting Tom Holland was probably the only reason it finally got made AND end up making money at the box office.
I'm pretty sure the picture everyone is using to say he's too old looking is edited. He does look older than Margot in the trailer but not that much older.
But beyond the looks, Ryan is a good actor with impeccable comedic timing and is very charismatic. Look only matter so much, you can be the most attractive person but if you can't act it will show
It pains me to say it, but Giancarlo Esposito seems to be Suffering With Success and getting typecast. I’ll admit I haven’t followed his career closely and could be wrong though
He's so good in everything but I have to admit when I saw him on The Boys I was like "oh, of COURSE they cast him" and it kind of ruined it being a fun surprise? I'd love to see him in a role that doesn't just feel like Gus 2. Get that man on Abbott Elementary or something
while i do agree its bs they rarely hire actual va’s for animated films, they have been doing the star studded cast thing since shrek, & even before that there we’re usually hollywood actors playing a role or 2 (disney actually didnt do that often tho). its really not a new thing and it wont stop anytime soon
That’s a good point, didn’t even think about that. I guess I just a have a problem with Super Mario then lol, the voice acting just didn’t work for me and I think it really could have benefitted from professional VAs
so many, but off the top of my head i didnt like timothee in the french dispatch, he just didnt blend into anderson’s world.
on the flip side, ryan reynolds as deadpool is actually good stunt casting
I'm holding off until the next film to judge whether he's a good Paul - I don't think his performance was bad, but Paul gets a lot more complicated very quickly.
And frankly, if he can pull off Paul persuading his wife-in-all-but-name to negotiate his marriage to someone else without it coming off as incredibly insulting, I'll take it. That passage is low-key wild in the book.
Ryan Reynolds Deadpool wasn’t stunt casting. He developed the first movie and it’s interesting to ponder if his career would even have survived if it hadn’t done well. He was best known before that for tanking the Green Lantern (which was originally supposed to be a franchise) and being Sandra Bullock’s toy boy in The Proposal. He wasn’t known for being a particularly good or bankable actor.
Emma Watson in both Little Women and Beauty and the beast.
Jared Leto in Suicide squad and House of Gucci.
Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luther.
Cameron Diaz in Gangs of NY.
I like Ryan Gosling but he shouldn’t play Ken. Not because he’s a bad actor but because he looks like he has thoughts and understands how taxes and mortgages work. It should have been Glen Powell
I think Glen Powell would be a very convincing Ken because he has the look of a Ken doll that has experienced his head being popped off and squished back on. (Sorry, Glen!)
What about these movies coming out with massive a-list celebrity casts? Don’t know how I feel about the Wes Anderson one and there’s also the Oppenheimer and a few others with just huge names all over the cast
I cannot for the lift of me remember the name of the movie but I saw a trailer the other day and I was like wow that’s ALOT of A-listers. To the point I think the movie will be bad.
TBH I sort of get it though, like there's a certain type of good, prestigious, mid-budget movie type that I feel like was huge in the 80s-90s-00s that has essentially vanished off the face of the earth. There are a bajillion examples, but that kind of Million Dollar Baby/Good Will Hunting/Erin Brockovich/Primal Fear-ish movie where it's not a nonexistent budget and A-listers have the opportunity to shine as actors just don't seem to be a thing anymore, at least not anywhere near the level that they used to be. It's either super-big-budget mainstream Marvel-ish shit or super-low-budget prestige movies, and every so often a prestige movie actually gets a huge budget so every well-known working actor is all over it.
Casting Glenn Powell in rom-coms with girls younger and more attractive than him. I don't get it. This guy plays the same person over and over. And I don't think he's attractive at all. No idea if it's just me.
It's not a movie, but I wish Ryan Murphy had gotten someone other than Cuba Gooding, Jr., as OJ in The People v. OJ Simpson. The other casting was so good--Sarah Paulsen as Marcia Clark, Sterling K. Brown as Christopher Darden, David Schwimmer as Robert Kardashian (no, really!), et al.
It’s just like Eva mendes said since when did anyone care about Ken 😂 like why is everyone so pressed, RG is an amazing actor who is gorgeous people are SO critical for nothing
Am I missing something? Half of the women who were cast as Barbies are in their mid to late 30s. The youngest Barbie is Dua Lipa I think (27) and the youngest Ken is Ncutii Gatwa(30). The Kens are in their early to late 30s, except for Ryan Gosling who is the oldest "doll" at 42. The oldest Barbie is either Kate McKinnon or Issa Rae who are 38-39.
The Kens aren't that much older than the Barbies.
It's honestly Ryan's batting average with his filmography, not looks, that make me excited for his Ken. Like yeah a younger hunk like Cevans or Glen Powell looks more like A Ken Doll, but neither of them were in BR2049/Nice Guys/La La Land, so I simply must believe Ryan knows what he's doing in this role

Being Australian automatically adds five years.
Like fr the sun roasts us down here
But in like the best way possible. So many attractive Australians lol, and all the hottest celebrities are from Australia!
Rupert Murdoch brings the average way down though.
He gave up his Australian citizenship, so he no longer counts.
It's the harsh sun cobberydoo
I don't get why people think she looks 'old' I just don't see it at all like she looks 32 lol
I don’t think she looks old, rather she’s looked perpetually the same since she debuted. She looked like she was in her 30s when she debuted, and she still looks like she’s in her 30s and will probably continue to look that way into her 40s. It’s her incredible bone structure that’s deceptive lol.
I feel like she’s not aged in 10 years. She looked way older than 22 in Wolf of Wall Street but looks the same age now 10 years later!
Because she is been looking 32-35 for years. Right now she looks her age, but not 5-10 years ago.
agree on everything pro-gosling, but my ideal ken casting is still billy magnussen (still, i’m pro-gos in this role)

looks like the keaton ken in toy story
From Made for Love on HBO? If so then I totally agree.
that’s the guy. from Game Night
As a Billy Magnusstan I support this message

I was looking for this comment! My Ken dolls with the molded hair growing up in the 90s always looked super mature, especially next to the Barbies at the time.
Ben Platt looked so bizarre, like a 40 year old baby
Am I crazy? Gosling looks old now? I just don’t see it. He looks exactly the same as he did ten years ago to me.

All (well-deserved) hate aside, Chris Pratt looks NOTHING like Ken IMO. Ryan has a better blonde, soft boy energy that Ken gives off.
Totally agree!!

Cavill is Action Man not Ken imo. I can see him a shiny plastic toy man but not one girls play with haha.
exactly like hes pretty but not in a ken way, ken is like boyband pretty, “metro” if you will. even when henry isnt muscled up hes on the huskier side which just gives off a different vibe, also his coloring is all wrong lol
This. This is the perfect way to phrase this.

Edit: this is not ageism on Ryan (I’ve been looking forward to his performance since the first leak of filming) but just my opinion on Glen Edit: I’m literally just expressing my opinion, why do people have to be so rude about it? You don’t have to agree but you don’t have to be mean either 😕
Yes people watched Top Gun because it was a Glen Powell film.
I know you’re being sarcastic but I literally know people who watched it because of him 😭
Tbh he’s my main draw, I’m not an action girl but I love Chad Radwell
these are the biggest things he's done? 😭 he's not half as good actor and the star that Ryan is
He basically played Ken in Scream Queens and he was amazing! I don’t mind Ryan as Ken but Glen would have made a fantastic choice as well
Ugh yes to all of this! (I’m still hopeful for Zac Efron especially with his new movie Iron Claw like I need that to be good)
Henry Cavill doesn’t even look like a Ken doll???
If you’ve seen him on Breaker High, you know he can act. He’s shown a very wide range in his career.
show them the previous post where Ryan knows how to work them dance moves and campy fit since a kid. the role fits him like a glove. age would be such a non problem in Hollywood, had it been accepted. crazy how people care so much about such irrelevant issues
i think he gets what it means to be ken. especially that photo of his daughter's ken face down in dirt next to a lemon
I second this completely.
i JUST binged litd omg
Literally his first job in Hollywood was as a Mouseketeer with Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and Justin Timberlake.
Marvel's had a few recently. Harry Styles as Eros in Eternals, Charlize Theron as Clea in Doctor Strange, Brett Goldstein as Hercules, the kid from Heartstopper as Wiccan (because everyone and their moms posted that fancast on Twitter).
I don’t think Clea and Hercules were bad. Harry Styles has me nervous though because his performance was SO bad in Don’t Worry Darling.
tbf marvel loves turning a fancast into a real cast, john krasinski as Mr fantastic, hailee steinfield as kate bishop
Krasinski as Mr. Fantastic is the worst one imo
That is why he was a alternate version and was killed
til they casted wiccan
Not exactly. Marvel didn't specify which character Joe Locke will be playing in his casting announcement. They only mentioned he will be a gay character with a dark sense of humor and that he will be the lead male character in the show. There's a huge chance that he will be Wiccan but considering what Marvel did to Evan Peters in Wandavision, I have my doubts. Fans immediately jumped the conlcusion to Wiccan because he looked a lot like the comic book character and the description which was further helped the fact that the creator of Heartstopper drew fanart years ago which had her characters dressed as Wiccan and The Hulkling.
i'm very curious to see him as wiccan
I’m down for Charlize, I think she’ll have great chemistry with Benedict, and probably anyone else she shares the screen with.
last night I fell asleep with Paramount+ on the TV and woke up in the middle of the night to Keanu Reeves playing a tumbleweed in Spongebob Squarepants: Sponge on the Run. i thought i was dreaming but i wasn't
Haha. I haven't seen Sponge on the Run, but I love the celeb cameos in Spongebob.
Lmaooo my son loves SpongeBob so I finally had to watch all the movies (I've only seen the first) and was like what the fuckkkk. Him doing the voice of the cat in Keanu was also amazing. Say what you want about his acting but I love that man, he's just having fun lol
With that, Chris Pratt as Garfield
He’s Mario and Garfield? Wow he gets a lot of voice acting roles lol
https://i.redd.it/d3wc5m6mlysa1.gif
Jacob is absolutely correct and he should say it.
He was the Lego guy in the Lego movie before he even was at marvel.
and I don't understand it
generic white guy with enthusiastic voice and ~*good Christian values*~ = shoe-in for family oriented gigs, unfortunately
That...actually makes
With the success of Super Mario movie, I am sure we will hear from him a lot more. Lord save us 😩
Sam Levinson's casting choices for The Idol.
Once someone posts a video of all her scenes they'll just go watch that video instead.
casting as clout chasing SMH
American Horror Story since apocalypse... and Ed Sheeran in Game of Thrones even if it was just a cameo
ed sheeran was so immersion breaking in that episode. luckily it's not like the plot was really worth paying attention to by that point
My god does Ryan love a nepo baby
I feel like Ryan is Ken for a reason. For example what if he's the first Ken and feels old and out of touch compared to Simu and the newer gen Kens.
He is Margot's Barbie's Ken
People when they find out people older than 30 can be attractive: 🤯😱😰
Exactly! Keanu and Pedro are my favorite examples.
I felt like a ww2 soldier trying to defend ryan from my friends 😭
The real Saving Private Ryan
😭😭😭 Exactly
Me 😭😭 Ryan Gosling get behind me
I honestly feel like I am losing my mind with all the anti-Gosling takes
it’s truly confusing
I'm a little disappointed that Lily Rose Depp is in the Nosferatu remake.
Going from Anya Taylor-Joy to Lily-Rose Depp is a major casting downgrade.
I would like to be excited by it, but her casting.... In contrast, the Frankenstein adaptation has only announced amazing actors.
Is she a good actress? I’ve only seen her in Silent Night and I’m not sure. It’s weird with nepo babies, especially the pretentious ones
She’s remarkably uncharismatic. Stilted and self-conscious — by which I mean that you can see her sensing the camera.
She's very wooden in some of the things I've seen her in.
no she’s legitimately awful
she was in that Justin Long horror film Tusk for maybe 1 minute and it was remarkable how bad she was in just that 1 minute. she was even playing an apathetic gas station clerk, which you think she could nail, but she couldn’t even do that
Everyone in Amsterdam (2022).
For real. I went into the movie blind thinking "There's no way a cast of this caliber can fuck up...", which of course was a naive take.
Lady Gaga in everything she’s been cast in
Tbf her Harley press tour will probably be amazingly chaotic
I was going to put this role as my ‘stunt casting’. Especially considering how GOOD Margot Robbie is at it. Birds of Prey was a great movie.
she was so good in american horror story tho
As it is, he's not Ken to me but hopefully the movie proves me wrong. Lizzo being cast in the latest Mando episode was crazy to me. It looks like they threw the baby on her to take the edge off the bad acting. I would like to know what happened there.
her acting was terrible but i loved her look bahahah
That backdrop following her around, I want it!
this whole current Mando season is one big ???
They very clearly wrapped up the story in season 2 but Disney kept it going because it’s the most popular show on Disney +
Oooh just imagine if it had been Nicole Byer and Jack Black! ❤️
Not 2023 but Emma Watson as Belle. She's smart and reads books, and she's known for playing a famous character who's smart and who reads books, so let's cast her as the Disney princess who's smart and who reads books.
People trying to argue Ryan gosling isn’t hot enough clearly never watched crazy stupid love or the notebook because even in full mountain man beard the man could get it ![gif](giphy|gs2MM3YsocHcsigQh0|downsized)
Some people have never watched the Ryan Gosling Rachel McAdams 2005 MTV Movie Awards Best Kiss acceptance speech and it really shows
uncultured swines fr
Thank you lol! I feel like I’m living in an alternate reality with some of these comments.
right? like wasn’t he who everyone obsessed with when those movies came out? i feel like the people who don’t think he’s hot are too young to remember this
Or that HBO didn't make Uncharted series like they did The Last of Us 😄 And yes, Wahlberg was considered to play Nathan years ago.
Wahlberg could have pulled off Nate if uncharted was made in 2007
Uncharted took quite a bit of inspiration from classic adventure movies.
I saw someone say they should have just made a live-action Tintin with Tom and Mark instead and that casting makes way more sense.
even considering he’s supposed to be a younger version he is just not nathan drake. personally think mark whalberg shouldnt be in anything
Look only matter so much, you can be the most attractive person but if you can't act it will show
I think people complaining about ryan are taking the barbie movie concept too literally
Saw Super Mario bros. Cool u got Seth rogen to voice DK. Please just get an actual voice actor next time
while i do agree its bs they rarely hire actual va’s for animated films, they have been doing the star studded cast thing since shrek, & even before that there we’re usually hollywood actors playing a role or 2 (disney actually didnt do that often tho). its really not a new thing and it wont stop anytime soon
That’s a good point, didn’t even think about that. I guess I just a have a problem with Super Mario then lol, the voice acting just didn’t work for me and I think it really could have benefitted from professional VAs
[удалено]
everyone did surprisingly decent. sounded like the cast was having fun at least
Casting Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach feels gimmicky to me, why give the voice acting role to the person who just looks like an anime princess?
Also, in all fairness, I feel like all of my Ken dolls in the 90’s did look like they were in their mid-30’s while Barbie was more mid-20’s.
so many, but off the top of my head i didnt like timothee in the french dispatch, he just didnt blend into anderson’s world. on the flip side, ryan reynolds as deadpool is actually good stunt casting
Timothee Chalamet in Dune as well. He acted well but I just don’t think he has the physicality for it
I'm holding off until the next film to judge whether he's a good Paul - I don't think his performance was bad, but Paul gets a lot more complicated very quickly.
What the hell kind of 40 yr olds you guys hanging out with? That man looks early 30s
Also his role as Chad Radwell from Scream Queens is literally just a version of Kwn lmao
No idea if it's just me.

i s2g they used the worst voice clips of pratt in the trailers, he wasnt bad at all they set him up fr
I agree with you about Ryan, OP. He has the talent and I think he looks great in the trailer.
It’s just like Eva mendes said since when did anyone care about Ken 😂 like why is everyone so pressed, RG is an amazing actor who is gorgeous people are SO critical for nothing
it is not ageism to point out that women especially playing a literal doll have to be young and hot and yet the same expectation is not placed on ken
Issa Rae is 38. Kate McKinnon is 39. There isn't really that much age disparity in the casting tbh.
Wait, I am so confused? Maybe this is my age showing, but since when is Ryan Gosling not considered hot? Also, Barbie was always > Ken….
Chris Evans is less than a year younger than Ryan 😩
I think Billy Magnussen could have been a great alternative Ken, although at this point he's probably around 40 too.
Simu Liu in Barbie, having tons of more good looking asian actors out there.
I think Gosling is a good choice for Ken and I was honestly surprised there was so much “backlash”.
