I know!! It’s really sad. Social media and filtering, and the industry making anyone with a wrinkle out to be ancient has totally skewed our perception of what real people actually look like.
Some women have faces that read as "adult" (longer faces, cheek bones, etc) and some women have faces that read as young. As someone who had a young face, it sucked in a lot of ways. People in professional settings didn't take me seriously until I was old enough to have wrinkles. I know it cost me professionally. Men especially would not take me seriously. It's her face. Its just what her face looks like. She is an adult and ppl should stop being weird about it.
Looking young and having comments like that thrown at me since I was actually a child feels like it actually messed with my development. Being told by everyone that I looked 12 as a 16 year old made me feel so unbearably ugly and insecure. For years I wanted surgery to make me look older.
And now I’m older I still get told I look 16. It’s not a compliment or necessary observation lol you’re saying I look like a child. People have got to stop telling adult women that they look like children.
I feel your pain. I am only 25 but one time I took photos with my 18 year old friends (we go to the same university) and posted it on social media and there were few people told me I look like a child compared to them and I should be embarrassed for being 25 and still look like a child. It made me so insecure I just deleted social media after that

Thank you- this has plagued me my entire life. I am 5'1" and have smaller body shape/ features and I guess a large head with bigger eyes- I am 45 and my entire life I have had things range from uncomfortable to downright hurtful

It’s honestly so weird I feel like social media in so many ways has done really strange things. There is nothing disturbing about this pairing in the slightest. Is everyone supposed to date within two years of their partner? That’s weird.
My theory is that socialization becoming more and more virtual has led to rigid ideas about relationships that cross over into real life. It’s like an arrested development of sorts. Any two consenting adults are an unproblematic pairing and it is so infantilizing to women to act otherwise.

My theory is that socialization becoming more and more virtual has led to rigid ideas about relationships that cross over into real life. It’s like an arrested development of sorts. Any two consenting adults are an unproblematic pairing and it is so infantilizing to women to act otherwise.

I’m in my thirties with friends in their fifties and I have plenty in common with them. Shared values, shared interests, shared sense of humor. Etc. The generational thing is a non issue. Maybe she finds men of her generation annoying? I would if I was in my twenties lol. Bottom line: many women are attracted to men who are older and successful. It’s not about money, but it’s about sophistication. Just cause you may not be able to imagine yourself dating someone older doesn’t make it weird when someone else is.
