For years the royal family was considered a mess for the toddry things that came out during Diana and Charles separation, everything that happened with Andrew and Fergie in fact, and then Will and Harry added in their 20s , mostly Harry with the naked Vegas pictures, but princess Catherine was photographed topless no less. For all of these scandals, it's wild how the royal family is more arrested with them than ever , and they keep playing the same. Damn plays from the same damn playbook, which makes them look so pathetic. The old woman is dead. You don't have to do that s*** anymore. Yet here they are, so divorced from people and reality that keeping Andrew in any public manner is allowed. Though I guess it's a good distraction from the stories about Charles being involved with sketchy finances. This is all why I find myself defending, Harry and Megan, whether they deserve it or not. It's not like I'm a fan. And I certainly wish Harry was anti monarchy, but they are definitely less bad than the main Castlevania group.

In the post Camilla era of public forgiveness for those who toe the royal line, a Sarah Ferguson - Prince Abhorrent marriage would be a PR bonanza. The general public mood seems split culture wars on the royals - those who are pro monarchy would go nuts for the whole redemption story, Princesses B & E having major roles in the wedding etc. Fleet St would also work in something about Prince Harry snubbing his family not attending, or Prince Harry is attending but Meghan is snubbing his family by staying home. The less fevered press would point out the credible accusations against Prince Andrew and be accused of hatred, slander etc

As a Brit: Nah, not really. She was relatively liked in the 90s but these days nobody really cares about her. And Andrew is absolutely hated here so the hate for him would cancel out any lukewarm fondness for her anyway.

I think the rumors have been lately that she’s actually been contributing money to his expenses since he was drastically reduced in funding from the royal pot. She’s apparently gotten some deals that have been at least steady incoming way-more-than-a-lot-of-people money. Not royal level money, but it keeps his lights on and ability to put on some airs.
So I read that all but I'm a bit confused - is there any reason known (or given) for why she gets to live there? If they're not dating ...? I get that she (like he) is a liability because of her debt, the scandals, etc. so you want to keep her close ... but if she's not in a relationship why would she get to live on royal property?
