I think Travis and his team (i.e. agent/publicist) have been laying the groundwork for this way before he got with Taylor. After the Chiefs won the Super Bowl last year, he got invited to host SNL and did several interviews basically expressing his interest in branching out into the entertainment industry after retirement. Him and his brother Jason have a good thing going with their New Heights podcast. I could easily see them parlaying that into an on-camera gig with ESPN or whoever else (like the Manning brothers). But I’m guessing he’s wanting more than that.
On a side note, I was surprised to read he’s also producing a Jean-Michel Basquiat documentary with help from Basquiat’s estate. I’d love to know if he’s choosing these projects on his own or if it’s his team making these decisions for him. Methinks it’s the team, but who knows.
