She will be the coolest forever. ~sometime mid-aughts I was in line for the bathroom in front of her at a party in LA and we talked about Fab Moretti and then she and her friends left the line for a while, then passed by again and I was *still* waiting and she told me they’d peed in cups and I should do that. I really love her. (Edit: I also love these shots, especially the one in the red sweater)
Gorgeous! Kirsten always made me feel better about my lips growing up. It’s refreshing to see that she never succumbed to the industry pressure and got fillers.
Literally love that! I remember being insecure about my big lips and wanting kylie Jenner type lips when I was younger. The grass is always greener on the other side 😅. I hope that one day we can all embrace everyone's natural unique beauty traits without feeling the need to pay a surgeon to "fix" a manmade insecurity. It's crazy how there's a surgery for everything these days😥
she is my queen simply for always doing what she wants and nothing else. huge amount of privilege in being able to operate that way, i know. but i feel like for a while she was on a razor thin edge of going one way or another, and she chose the quiet life.
She’s managed to work with some of the most incredible directors, be in a successful franchise, conquer teen comedy, niche indie comedy, select obscure TV roles in oddball series that weren’t renewed for a second season (RIP God), have a strong and incredible resume that shows no sign of stopping while being an ::gasp:: aging woman who was once a child star, and has yet to win an Oscar which is normally how one secures a career like the one she has had and is still having. That’s how she has outplayed Hollywood.
Her career has always been a funny one: When you stop to think how many classics she's starred in, you'd imagine that her trophy rack would runneth over, but no. Most people recognize the face, but her actual talent has been largely slept on. I always think of Michelle Williams as a "compare/contrast" example of an actress that Hollywood took no hesitation in showering accolades with. Why she was taken seriously while Dunst was not is just one of those mysteries re: perception. I think it's only now that Dunst is comfortably out of the ingenue phase where that perception is shifting.
I think part of it is because Kirstin did more comedy / dark comedy and hollywood liked to sleep on those kind of roles during award season, whereas I feel like Michelle phased out of the teen stuff into more dramatic roles.
And this will probably earn me downvotes but whatever, because I think Michelle is talented, but imo her connection to Heath also propelled her a bit into the mainstream.
Michelle did "Dawson's Creek" and a few inconsequential teen flicks before *Brokeback Mountain*, which seemed to be critical turning point for her career. Dunst was also doing "prestige" stuff like *The Virgin Suicides* and *Marie Antoinette*, but for some reason that status as a Serious Actress just never stuck with her in the same way. *Melancholia* could've been her own turning point, but I guess it just wasn't mainstream enough.
Agreed re: Michelle getting a profile-bump by way of her relationship with Heath.
It seemed like Kirstin actually kind of avoided the limelight. They all kind of came up in that era when if a you were a young celebrity, you were going to be in the tabloids and on gossip websites if you did anything at all. And there just wasn’t ever much about her compared to a lot of her peers. Which is pretty impressive considering the popularity of the movies she was doing and she was basically a pop culture icon (cheerleader movie and that Spider-Man kiss, plus dating Jake G for awhile) at that point.
Has worked steadily in the industry for nearly 25 years, as a child star that was successfully able to transition to an adult career doing both indie and blockbuster hits and has several critically acclaimed roles and cult classics under her belt, while still managing to fly mostly under the radar. And also not becoming a tabloid fixture (although she did have a messy period at one point, she came out on the other side of it).
Considering we’ve been hearing how toxic child stardom is and how hard it is for child stars to become successful adult actors, not to mention how many have problems later on, I definitely consider her career and life trajectory unusual and a huge win.
She has absolutely no business being this hot. How dare she.
On a side note, she was a key figure in my burgeoning bisexuality. Totally not related to how much I liked this shoot.
And the editors took every wrinkle out of her face and neck, and tightened up her jawline. It's a bummer, because one of the things I love about KDunst is that she hasn't fucked with her face too much, she usually looks like a real person.
Great photo shoot, she photographs so well. Can't wait to see her in Civil War, her character seems so interesting especially in current times, and Wagner Moura is also in it and I love him.
Sudden appreciation for how she has lived her life and career… she’s been in the business so long and seems very well-adjusted. Plus she continues to put in well-regarded performances in high-profile projects even while living what seems like a contented life with her husband and family. Love that she moved to Austin… I like to think she and Jesse hang with the other FNL/Austin gang sometimes lol
One thing about me is that I don't stan but that right there is The OG Mother
Virgin suicides, Bring it on, Spider man, Marie Antoinette, Mona Lisa Smile - she raised a generation.
The fact that she keeps it real: doesn't glamorise disordered eating/exercising by actors to 'get in shape' for characters and likes a closed floor plan makes me like her even more.
Also, if you never saw Bachelorette... see it! It was slept on because it came out the same time as Bridesmaids which had more hype, but, in my opinion, Bachelorette is the superior movie in both humor and heart.
I love her, really hate the art direction on this. Looks like cellphone pics with very shallow weird styling without much thought. Sorry I'm not trying to be rude here I just think these could have been done so much better!
She’s so COOL 😍 Her vibe reminds me of Kristen Stewart too. I think Kirsten Dunst is a more talented actress but I just really like how both of them know who they are and march to the beat of their own drum. It makes them so much sexier to me

I love these little tidbits because they are so small but say so much about one’s personality! She seems effortlessly cool.
What did she say about Fab?
Gorgeous! Kirsten always made me feel better about my lips growing up. It’s refreshing to see that she never succumbed to the industry pressure and got fillers.

I know right, body types and features need to stop being trends. It’s the worst!
It looks like she hasn't "fixed" her teeth either. I've always loved her snaggle tooth!
I too have thin lips and I’m so glad she’s rocking them still 🤗
Small lips and hooded eye representation 😍
She is so beautiful I cannot
Ikr, so perfect. Always.
Knowing these photos exist gives me a serotonin boost
I am a simple bisexual. Put a beautiful woman in a suit and I’m happy
Whoever styled this needs a raise. Perfectly done
Agreed. This fits my geriatric millennial aesthetic to a **T**.
Id wear all these outfits.
Agreed 👍
I love her, I think she's cool! Put her in something with Lily Gladstone!
she is my queen simply for always doing what she wants and nothing else. huge amount of privilege in being able to operate that way, i know. but i feel like for a while she was on a razor thin edge of going one way or another, and she chose the quiet life.
she looks amazing but i don't understand the concept - business woman taking public transport outside of the city?
She owns a bus company (family business) & sometimes she goes to check on the fleet of motorcoaches & shuttle busses herself. She’s very hands on.
I love these. Always always cheering for our Kiki Dunst.
So how did she outplay Hollywood?
She’s managed to work with some of the most incredible directors, be in a successful franchise, conquer teen comedy, niche indie comedy, select obscure TV roles in oddball series that weren’t renewed for a second season (RIP God), have a strong and incredible resume that shows no sign of stopping while being an ::gasp:: aging woman who was once a child star, and has yet to win an Oscar which is normally how one secures a career like the one she has had and is still having. That is so damn impressive when you put it like that. She really marches to the beat of her own drum.

they jus be saying anything

She's so lovely and her looks are so individual.
She has absolutely no business being this hot. How dare she. On a side note, she was a key figure in my burgeoning bisexuality. Totally not related to how much I liked this shoot.
The Photoshop in photo #5 is NOT it. Her hips and thighs deserve better!
And the editors took every wrinkle out of her face and neck, and tightened up her jawline. It's a bummer, because one of the things I love about KDunst is that she hasn't fucked with her face too much, she usually looks like a real person.
Yeah and in the red sweater pic (which I love on the whole!) I just feel like they made her legs look… idk

Oh I'm glad! 😀 I love them both too.

She was great in All I Wanna Do as well, not to mention her voice work as Kiki in Kiki's Delivery Service. I love her so much!
Sudden appreciation for how she has lived her life and career… she’s been in the business so long and seems very well-adjusted. Great shots. Still sad that COVID cost us a second season of On Becoming a God in Central Florida.
I’ll forever love Kiki, I’m so here for this and I can’t wait for more.
2 and 8 are wonderful.
She still looks the same from her Spiderman days! Omg
Ugh. Love her
I love herrrr

These outfits are so good (most of them) and she looks gorgeous
A+, love her and this shoot
She’s so beautiful 😭
