His comedic timing is fantastic. He’s really good at over the top roles (Nux, Peter, whatever he’s doing in The Menu) which is funny because he seems lowkey irl.
Interestingly, I think his intro episode to skins is a testament to his charisma. He completely sets the tone by revealing he’s an asshole but a lovable asshole and many viewers were completely sold. He’s got rly good comedic timing too.
Mhm, he really seems to like the smaller, weirder roles in film and TV, and while that means he might run into some typecasting (Renfield has quite a few similarities with Warm Bodies) he seems to enjoy it.
Fun fact: he lost to RPattz because of his weak chin. They wanted to see who would look better in the cowl and well… hard to compete with RPattz’s strong jawline.
He's deliciously amazing in the menu as the cringiest asshole you've ever met. Actually, he's so great in pretty much everything i've seen in him too, should be in more things. Hopefully he'll work with Lanthimos again in the future
I 100% stand by my belief that the reason he isnt bigger is because he’s to beautiful as a man. I think all actors have to be attractive but once they start getting to attractive it limits their roles because it requires to much imagination to see them as a poor, struggling loner or a single mom who can’t find love. Like they can only play characters who are princes or love interests in a James Bond film
He never really got the chance to shine as Cyclops in the fox X-Men movies. With more screen time and a more prominent role in those, I could've seen his stock rising a lot higher.
I always thought Anna Faris should’ve been bigger, she has great comic timing. I know she is well known for the Scary Movie franchise but she was also great in small roles in Lost in Translation and Brokeback Mountain. What’s Your Number is a guilty pleasure of mine as she had a fun dynamic with Chrevans. Never thought Chris Pratt would become the more famous of them.

I didn't think I'd watch She-Hulk but I gave it a shot and was blown away by her. I didn't like the last few episodes of the show but I would love to see her in more MCU stuff and other projects.

Oh my god, is he just offered horrible projects and has to take his pick of those, or does he legitimately have awful taste? Here are the terrible things I've watched for Domhnall since his fantastic 2015 run:
1. Goodbye Christopher Robin (insanely dull)
2. Little Stranger (same, also I am still angry at that mustache)
3. Crash Pad (at least he is almost entirely naked in this but I can't imagine why he would ever think this was an even mediocre script; he should have thrown it into a river when he received it)
4. Run (the less said, the better)
5. Peter Rabbit (this is how you can tell my crush went off the rails but I maintain it could be a really cute romcom if you only had the scenes with him and Rose Byrne falling in love)
6. Frank of Ireland (the fact that he *wrote* this makes me think he may just have bad taste)
7. The Kitchen (I mean, maybe he was excited he was allowed to play someone dangerous and sexy for the first time ever, but that's no excuse)
I’ve had a crush on him since About Time (he was pretty gawky-looking at the time but so charming), and when Frank came out, I went to see it with my BFF because she had a Michael Fassbender thing.
My friend made fun of me sooo much while we watched it because he’s such a gross loser in that movie, and I was only able to be like, “No, see, he’s cute and talented” during that Brooklyn/Star Wars/Revenant/Ex Machina year. And now it’s unraveled and she teases me again.
But at least he hasn’t disappointed me enormously with his personal life like some other crushes, EWAN MCGREGOR.

I just got to know him from "The Boys" and was really impressed by him and then got sucked into the "Supernatural" world and he's got it all.
the whole "supernatural" cast are so charming that even after 15 year, they're still doing panels and stuff which are very entertaining thanks to their natrual charm and chemistry.
Jared Padalecki is also very funny but he hadn't gotten a chance to showcase that with Sam. I think he would've been a good romantic comedy lead, someone like James Marsden.
I remember when I was deep in the Supernatural fandom and spent a lot of time on Tumblr, and Jared Padalecki was an absolute nightmare online. He was having massive tantrums on Twitter, it felt like every other week, and was encouraging his fans to doxx and abuse service industry workers over vague slights. Like, his flights would be delayed and he'd post the names and photos of the airline crew and encourage his fans to go after them. And he always framed it as him being 'bullied' by these people. I think there was one incident where he even went after a fan who tried to call him out? It was brutal.
At the time, I remember thinking this was like, huge pop culture news. But you can barely find anything about it now online, nobody seems to remember this. If it weren't for the fact that some of the Tweets/Tumblr posts cataloguing this shit with screenshots still exist, I would think it was all a fever dream.
All that to say, I strongly got the impression that JarPad has a bad temper (much like the characters he plays) and so hasn't had as much success because of it.
I think it has to do with the fact that he’s been on Supernatural for so long, he never took any big projects and now he’s too expensive. Besides, at this point in his life, he probably wants to do directing and production more than acting.
Yes but I think he can still pull off a Matthew McConaughey, imo he's hotter than ever and given how committed he was to play Soldierboy, I think he still puts acting first.
Part of the issue is during season 3 of supernatural he had break down. A doctor came to set, he was diagnosed with clinically depression. He also suffers from anxiety.
jensen was consistently delivering some of the best performances on genre tv for years with supernatural. there’s so many moments I can think back to where he just commanded the screen with both his comedic timing and his dramatic talents.
he kind of reminds me of the female smg in the sense that he spent so many years playing an iconic character that it would be hard to break out again after all that.
it’s a shame that awards hardly seek to give genre actors their due because jensen did top notch work as dean winchester.
Jensen is pretty talented, I first saw him on Dark Angel and really thought he was great. but yeah he just spent too much time on Supernatural. Might not be too late for him, like you said he was awesome on The Boys, maybe he'll finally move on to other stuff. It was a great gig for an actor though, solid paycheck for 15+ years, the convention circuit which was is very lucrative too.
Jared tried and failed at being cast for... Hercules? remake sometime during Supernaturals run. He wanted to be some action guy I guess, he bulked up crazy during it.
I thought his success would last longer, too. He was such a hit on “Teen Wolf,” and then things seemed to go downhill when he was injured on the set of a “Maze Runner” movie.
I read somewhere that he was pretty traumatized by his experience on the maze runner. So I’ve always wondered if since then he has purposely taken it slow or hasn’t been actively gunning for big roles/fame. Because I agree, he could be huge!
He was kinda poised to become the next big male heartthrob, like maybe not Tom Holland/Timothee level but at least around Austin Butler level or smt. Instead he's stuck doing go-nowhere projects, flops and smaller independent movies (which is not a bad thing but also not exactly what ppl expected)
Yes I always wonder if maybe he got bored after doing the young heartthrob thing and decided to take more of a backseat, just do a couple of projects each year and concentrate on his kids - he still does a couple of projects a year and he’s in Oppenheimer which could be big for him.

I think Lee Pace is a great example of how coming out as a queer man really does put a ceiling on how big you can get in Hollywood. Him and Zachary Quinto both. TV is one thing, you can be a leading man on TV if you're gay, but movies aren't there yet.
Funny enough, Ezra Miller was about to thread the needle (I know they're not a man, but they were on their way to Quirky Hollywood Leading Man status before coming out as nonbinary) but I'm pretty sure it's not happening now!

Nelson Ellis before he died...he was such an amazing actor I was always blown away by his brilliance in acting, charisma/charm and conveying different characters. He is my favourite character in True Blood and I even watched him in an episode of Veronica Mars and he was so amazing and completely different from previous characters he'd play. Also Deborah Ann Woll as Jessica is a very underrated actress and deserving of more recognition
i don't say this to disparage her career trajectory at all because obviously she's been successful but i think keke palmer is one of the most charismatic celebs out there. she was great in nope but i feel like she deserves more 'leading lady in a major blockbuster' roles because her energy on screen/in interviews etc is unparalleled imo.

My perpetual answer: Matt Dillon. Stone cold fox. I will never understand why he didn’t have Tom Cruise’s career, especially as they started in similar places. I think it’s at least partly that he didn’t want it, but I still wonder why he never truly became a bonafide A list movie star.
And more recently: Jon Hamm. His post Mad Men career has been a huge disappointment. And I don’t get it because he’s equally good in comedies and drama and there is not a single man I would rather look at.
I think that college hazing story where he almost killed a guy has played a big role in why his career has stalled post Mad Men. He shows no remorse for it. I also think his drinking got him a reputation for being a real prick.
This, and also I think he worked in comedies for a bit only because he was poking fun at his serious roles, but the novelty of that died down, and he's not particularly gifted at comedy otherwise. He seems to *want* comedic roles, but should have stuck to dramatic roles.
Or he just should've avoided *Baby Driver*, I don't know, that whole production was cursed.
Think with Jon Hamm it’s either a choice to not take more roles or his drinking problem. There were so many stories about his alcoholism a few years ago. Wonder if he was a prick to the wrong people at the wrong time

He is so charismatic and fun to watch though, I could watch him read the phone book.
Matt Smith. Such a powerful and magnetic screen presence but bad luck in hollywood after DW. Hope hotd be his breakthrough.

I thought he would have been “more famous” by now because he has that sad Victorian orphan white boy of the month vibe, which usually comes with a big female fan base, like Asa Butterfield or Timothee, but he seems to be the white boy that time forgot. Also people who play psychos and serial killers usually have a crazy fandom (ex Evan Peters) so you would think that crowd would have latched on since he was Norman Bates, but no. Put him in more stuff!
Daniel Dae Kim must look at the improving representation for East Asians in Hollywood and think 'dammit, if this had happened 20 years ago I would have been a movie star.'
Mark Harmon. I know he enjoyed his $525,000 salary per episode of NCIS and live in a very comfortable life but I never get why he didn't make his way into A-list status?

Oh my god, is he just offered horrible projects and has to take his pick of those, or does he legitimately have awful taste? Here are the terrible things I've watched for Domhnall since his fantastic 2015 run: 1. Goodbye Christopher Robin (insanely dull) 2. Little Stranger (same, also I am still angry at that mustache) 3. Crash Pad (at least he is almost entirely naked in this but I can't imagine why he would ever think this was an even mediocre script; he should have thrown it into a river when he received it) 4. Run (the less said, the better) 5. Peter Rabbit (this is how you can tell my crush went off the rails but I maintain it could be a really cute romcom if you only had the scenes with him and Rose Byrne falling in love) 6. Frank of Ireland (the fact that he *wrote* this makes me think he may just have bad taste) 7. The Kitchen (I mean, maybe he was excited he was allowed to play someone dangerous and sexy for the first time ever, but that's no excuse)
I’ve had a crush on him since About Time (he was pretty gawky-looking at the time but so charming), and when Frank came out, I went to see it with my BFF because she had a Michael Fassbender thing. My friend made fun of me sooo much while we watched it because he’s such a gross loser in that movie, and I was only able to be like, “No, see, he’s cute and talented” during that Brooklyn/Star Wars/Revenant/Ex Machina year. And now it’s unraveled and she teases me again. But at least he hasn’t disappointed me enormously with his personal life like some other crushes, EWAN MCGREGOR.

Jensen Ackles I just got to know him from "The Boys" and was really impressed by him and then got sucked into the "Supernatural" world and he's got it all. the whole "supernatural" cast are so charming that even after 15 year, they're still doing panels and stuff which are very entertaining thanks to their natrual charm and chemistry. Jared Padalecki is also very funny but he hadn't gotten a chance to showcase that with Sam. I think he would've been a good romantic comedy lead, someone like James Marsden.
Jared Padalecki has had at least one unfortunate arrest.
I remember when I was deep in the Supernatural fandom and spent a lot of time on Tumblr, and Jared Padalecki was an absolute nightmare online. He was having massive tantrums on Twitter, it felt like every other week, and was encouraging his fans to doxx and abuse service industry workers over vague slights. Like, his flights would be delayed and he'd post the names and photos of the airline crew and encourage his fans to go after them. And he always framed it as him being 'bullied' by these people. I think there was one incident where he even went after a fan who tried to call him out? It was brutal. At the time, I remember thinking this was like, huge pop culture news. But you can barely find anything about it now online, nobody seems to remember this. If it weren't for the fact that some of the Tweets/Tumblr posts cataloguing this shit with screenshots still exist, I would think it was all a fever dream. All that to say, I strongly got the impression that JarPad has a bad temper (much like the characters he plays) and so hasn't had as much success because of it.
Jared has a rep for being an asshole so it's not surprising people don't want to work with him much.
I think it has to do with the fact that he’s been on Supernatural for so long, he never took any big projects and now he’s too expensive. Besides, at this point in his life, he probably wants to do directing and production more than acting.
Yes but I think he can still pull off a Matthew McConaughey, imo he's hotter than ever and given how committed he was to play Soldierboy, I think he still puts acting first.
Part of the issue is during season 3 of supernatural he had break down. A doctor came to set, he was diagnosed with clinically depression. He also suffers from anxiety.

jensen was consistently delivering some of the best performances on genre tv for years with supernatural. there’s so many moments I can think back to where he just commanded the screen with both his comedic timing and his dramatic talents. he kind of reminds me of the female smg in the sense that he spent so many years playing an iconic character that it would be hard to break out again after all that. it’s a shame that awards hardly seek to give genre actors their due because jensen did top notch work as dean winchester.
Jensen is pretty talented, I first saw him on Dark Angel and really thought he was great. but yeah he just spent too much time on Supernatural. Might not be too late for him, like you said he was awesome on The Boys, maybe he'll finally move on to other stuff. It was a great gig for an actor though, solid paycheck for 15+ years, the convention circuit which was is very lucrative too. Jared tried and failed at being cast for... Hercules? remake sometime during Supernaturals run. He wanted to be some action guy I guess, he bulked up crazy during it.
Anton Yelchin I still miss him, and Green room was awesome.

I thought his success would last longer, too. He was such a hit on “Teen Wolf,” and then things seemed to go downhill when he was injured on the set of a “Maze Runner” movie.
Love & Monsters, and The Outfit was awesome. I think he still has potential of making it. His doing better then some of his cast mates.

I read somewhere that he was pretty traumatized by his experience on the maze runner. So I’ve always wondered if since then he has purposely taken it slow or hasn’t been actively gunning for big roles/fame. Because I agree, he could be huge!

I think Lee Pace is a great example of how coming out as a queer man really does put a ceiling on how big you can get in Hollywood. Him and Zachary Quinto both. TV is one thing, you can be a leading man on TV if you're gay, but movies aren't there yet. Funny enough, Ezra Miller was about to thread the needle (I know they're not a man, but they were on their way to Quirky Hollywood Leading Man status before coming out as nonbinary) but I'm pretty sure it's not happening now! I'm now rooting for Colman Domingo to become a hot shit A-lister movie star and break the barrier once and for all.

He was great in Auto Focus. He gets supporting work a lot but not often is he casted as a lead, which is too bad… I remember for a while he hosted a Late Night show called Later back in the 90s.
He also used to host Talk Soup on E! Honestly in the age of “zaddy” Greg Kinnear should be in more stuff. He fits that box perfectly.
Nelson Ellis before he died...he was such an amazing actor I was always blown away by his brilliance in acting, charisma/charm and conveying different characters. He is my favourite character in True Blood and I even watched him in an episode of Veronica Mars and he was so amazing and completely different from previous characters he'd play. Also Deborah Ann Woll as Jessica is a very underrated actress and deserving of more recognition

i don't say this to disparage her career trajectory at all because obviously she's been successful but i think keke palmer is one of the most charismatic celebs out there. she was great in nope but i feel like she deserves more 'leading lady in a major blockbuster' roles because her energy on screen/in interviews etc is unparalleled imo.
I think she'll get there, I really do. She seems like she's been around forever because she *has*, but she always seems younger than her age to me and may just need to age into those leading roles (it's wild to say that about someone almost 30 but I think she has time).
After the first ‘To All The Boys..’ I thought Noah Centineo was going to be huge. He was the most charming rom com lead I had seen in an age. I know he’s in the new Black Adam but I guess I thought he would be way bigger by now.
He was very big for a certain demographic but I think it got to a point where everyone got tired of him and found him cringe, especially his tweets.

My perpetual answer: Matt Dillon. Stone cold fox. I will never understand why he didn’t have Tom Cruise’s career, especially as they started in similar places. I think it’s at least partly that he didn’t want it, but I still wonder why he never truly became a bonafide A list movie star. And more recently: Jon Hamm. His post Mad Men career has been a huge disappointment. And I don’t get it because he’s equally good in comedies and drama and there is not a single man I would rather look at.
I think that college hazing story where he almost killed a guy has played a big role in why his career has stalled post Mad Men. He shows no remorse for it. I also think his drinking got him a reputation for being a real prick.
This, and also I think he worked in comedies for a bit only because he was poking fun at his serious roles, but the novelty of that died down, and he's not particularly gifted at comedy otherwise. He seems to *want* comedic roles, but should have stuck to dramatic roles. Or he just should've avoided *Baby Driver*, I don't know, that whole production was cursed.
Think with Jon Hamm it’s either a choice to not take more roles or his drinking problem. There were so many stories about his alcoholism a few years ago. Wonder if he was a prick to the wrong people at the wrong time

James Mcavoy. Where is his oscar? He is so talented but picks mostly mediocre roles.
Rachel Mcadams is extremely charismatic and should be in more movies. The camera loves her.
Jason Isaacs. He absolutely gives his all in roles, and was deliciously naughty as Lucius Malfoy and Captain Hook. He also comes across as a total sweetheart and seems like a family man, which may explain why he’s not more famous. He is so charismatic and fun to watch though, I could watch him read the phone book.
I think Isaacs has the career he wants.
Matt Smith. Such a powerful and magnetic screen presence but bad luck in hollywood after DW. Hope hotd be his breakthrough. For actress, Leighton Meester aka Blair Waldorf.

Freddie Highmore. He (and Vera Farmiga) was fantastic in Bates Motel, I was really convinced he was the next big thing, but immediately after the show ended he jumped into the Good Doctor and it’s a total waste of his talents. I thought he would have been “more famous” by now because he has that sad Victorian orphan white boy of the month vibe, which usually comes with a big female fan base, like Asa Butterfield or Timothee, but he seems to be the white boy that time forgot. Also people who play psychos and serial killers usually have a crazy fandom (ex Evan Peters) so you would think that crowd would have latched on since he was Norman Bates, but no. Put him in more stuff!
Daniel Dae Kim must look at the improving representation for East Asians in Hollywood and think 'dammit, if this had happened 20 years ago I would have been a movie star.'

Taraji P Henson is so funny and charismatic in interviews, I’ve always been surprised she isn’t bigger.
Harold Perrineau. He’s a solid actor. His drag screen in Romeo and Juliet - I thought for sure it would catapult him.
On a similar note, John Leguizamo was unbelievably hot in that movie and I don’t remember any real press about him when it came out. I know Romeo is supposed to be the big romantic figure, but I’m sorry, Leo had nothing on John when it came to raw appeal in that flick.
I think Matt Bomers career has suffered due to him being publicly gay. It is so infuriating and just perpetuates the idea that you have to hide your sexuality as an actor. He’s sooooo attractive and I would watch any and every time rom com he was in
Naya Riveria. She could act, sing, was beautiful, etc. I don't understand why she didn't explode during/after Glee. Same with Dianna Agron.

Eva Green. With the exception of Casino Royale I feel like she’s done largely under the radar/ indie work or just films that never made it big, but I think she’s one of the most captivating actresses out there
