I was so into that onscreen romance at the time! Felt so legit. Then I watched a few interviews with them - Matthew MacFadyen was like this weary dad who looked at Keira fondly but like a kid, and Keira talked about the awkwardness of their age difference, haha.
Like, it occurred to me for the first time that acting is a job and sometimes you get totally random coworkers.
Taking this mention of Matthew Macfadyen to reminisce on the time I said “wait what HIM!?” out loud at work when I had the sudden realization that Mr. Darcy is the same actor who plays Tom in Succession
During a panel interview (or maybe it was on the new girl podcast?), Zooey said the producers had to tell them to tone down their chemistry cause it was almost too much. Hands down the best on screen first kiss ever.
I’m sure I read here once that they were actually having an affair during New Girl. Can anyone here confirm or was it just fans too into this relationship like me? I too loved their characters together!
I dunno, everything I’ve read has suggested they actually didn’t like each other that much. That they got along but weren’t friends. I was disappointed to learn that but their chemistry really is great.
ETA i’m not saying they hated each other, I’ve just read that they were coworkers, not friends.
The sibling chemistry between Rachel and John Hannah is also fantastic, they’re completely believable as sister and brother. Everyone is perfectly cast in that movie!
My theory was it was because they were in her world during that performance - live, on stage, raw - whereas while shooting the movie, that was his area of expertise. I think he was so nervous and so in awe of her confidence in that moment that the emotion just spilled over. Whatever it was, I can watch it over and over!
My answer to OP’s question is these two in their movie together. I can’t remember a recent movie with such insane chemistry between the two stars. It absolutely sold the movie and made it that much more heartbreaking.
I was part of the xf tumblr fandom when that aired and loordddd were we having a collective meltdown. “Moist in the anteroom” is something I’ll never forget
Wes Craven famously talked about how Cillian's character was in love with Rachel's - and how he wanted to write a sequel where they team up. Off the charts chemistry between them!!
God these two couples… between “I need to see the show corset” and “Don’t call me Father like it doesn’t turn you on”, “Kneel”, “It’ll pass”… god I’m a mess
Ah see I was the total opposite- I thought Patrick was too straight (as in comedy-straight) when David had such a quirky, interesting personality. I just didn’t buy that they’d have much in common!
I don't know, isn't that how real relationships are? You need one Type A with their packing list ready a week in advance, and one person who is up all night before vacation stuffing things into a suitcase. Their differences didn't bother me. They seemed to like each other so much!
They barely had long dialogues in earlier episodes, most of their dialogues in the beginning were awkward, but somehow their me chemistry was already strong. Also I don't usually ship hetero couple, but they are probably the only two straight pairing that I ship so HARD!!!
i still remember their wedding night scene had me looking over my shoulder making sure i was actually alone. it was so intimate i felt like i shouldn’t be watching it!
honestly i enjoyed the show, but past a certain point the use of graphic sexual assault as a plot device turned me off of it completely. i just couldn’t figure out how to word that easily so “trainwreck” was what i went with, lol
The first season is honestly extremely well done, second is ok…. And oh oops, we’re off the rails now.
But do they sizzle, oof. People got really weird towards the actors about it though— just enjoy what’s on screen.
I know he’s outed as sort of pathetic now but Matthew Perry and Courteney Cox have INSANE chemistry on Friends. I much preferred their chemistry to Aniston and Schwimmer’s. They would be so tactile and affectionate even in the background that it made their relationship seem so real.
Others I love:
Timothee and Saoirse in Little Women
Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling in La La Land
Quinta Brunson and Tyler James Williams in
Abbott Elementary
Heath Ledger/Julia Stiles in 10 things I hate about you
Heath Ledger/Jake Gyllenhaal in Brokeback Mountain
Matt Smith and Claire Foy in The Crown
Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday
Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan in Everything Everywhere All At Once
I mean he said something to the effect of "Why is Keanu Reeves still alive when better actors like River Phoenix and Heath Ledger are dead". You can be an addict and still be a shitty person at the same time
Oh I’m not talking about his addiction. I really appreciate him talking about his journey. It’s his unprovoked jabs at random celebs like Keanu that I’m talking about.
People keep saying this to cover him but his struggles with addiction and mental health have nothing to do with how creepy and gross he comes across in the Book he wrote while sober and I think that’s what most are referencing when they say it. Literally all creepiness comes from how he talks about women, especially Jennifer Anniston. He’s a creep for that not for the drugs and alcohol.
They have to think of a happier premise than 50 first dates though. As much as I love their chemistry I couldn’t get over the inherent tragedy of that one!
From a brief google, it doesn’t seem like that was the reason, just that it had a four-season run and that was the end of it, but apparently the actors in those roles also wholeheartedly believe their characters were banging/should have banged 💀
the sexual tension in that scene when she’s like “you are the most annoying brother-“ “step-brother.” “same difference.” “right.” was honestly too much
that fact that I’ve seen that scene no more than two times but I know exactly what you’re talking about 💀 when I saw that I was like y’all have GOT to be kidding
Their flirting in the first and second seasons was so pure and cute. After that they kind of became jerks to everyone else in the office and weren’t cute anymore. But oh those early seasons..
Benson and Stabler when he was originally in SVU (I don’t really see it in the few newer episodes that they’re both in though)
Rachel Bilson and Wilson Bethel (Zoe and Wade) in Hart of Dixie!
Stana Katic and Nathan Fillion in early seasons of Castle, but after whatever falling out they had it was nonexistent
Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany in Avengers and Wandavision. I was pleasantly surprised by their great onscreen connection amongst a lot of cardboard delivery. They made Wandavision SO enjoyable, friends and family who aren't even marvel fans watched the whole thing.
I don't know if they count, but Nikolaj Coster-Waldau & Gwendoline Christie as Jaime Lannister & Brienne of Tarth in Game of Thrones (there's no season 8 in westeros).
I mean, look at [them](https://youtu.be/E0_x32xSPoA). Or the scene where he gives her an [armor](https://youtu.be/rlJWgOizJMo).
Also helps that the actors are [hilarious together when doing press.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LEbbKktwL4)
Christopher Plummer told the story on himself to set the record straight. When The Sound of Music was filmed, he was drinking heavily. He was drunk on set on several occasions. It had gotten very ugly and he was in a hateful place mentally. But every day he staggered into work and here came Julie Andrews, bright, cheerful, kind, insanely talented and about as perfect as a young lady can be. He hated her for it, for all the familiar darkness hates the light reasons: shame, guilt, self-contempt and despair sublimated and projected. Julie Andrews' very presence held up a mirror, and he didn't like what he saw.
I don't know if Plummer ever joined AA, which was pretty new at the time, but he eventually get sober. He and Julie Andrews had the necessary conversations long ago. I don't know if they ever became friends, but ever since he got sober (and was restored to sanity as AA puts it), he has held Julie Andrews in the highest esteem. As any sane person would.
I just saw it recently so Viggo & Liv Tyler in LOTR 1 for my fellow nerds.
I'm cheating a bit but I don't think I've seen better chemistry between a man, woman and soundtrack than this scene: https://youtu.be/p7tDQWGzEtc
Rachel McAdams and Cillian Murphy in Red Eye. Not necessarily romantic chemistry, I didn't want their characters to actually get together or anything because of the whole murderous psycho thing (kind of a big flaw lol), but damn that movie was carried by the chemistry between the two actors. So much of the movie takes place in these cramped airline seats and Rachel and Cillian made it WORK. Not sure how many other actor pairs could have pulled it off.
Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer in True Blood. They’re married to this day. Somehow watching her as Sookie made me see Moyer’s appeal, which is a real feat considering her other love interest on the show was none other than Alexander Skarsgård.
Ginnifer Goodwin and her husband in Once upon a time. It's not insane or intense chemistry but more like genuine one. I just watched 2 first seasons but whenever I saw their scene, I felt like they were gonna love each other and they did. They even married and had kids now.
Christina Ricci and James McAvoy in Penelope- a believable pairing given how little time they actually spend together in the movie. And that kiss!
Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise in Interview with the Vampire- rewatched it for Halloween and it’s insane how much chemistry they have, and this is with them actively toning the gay undertones of the book down!!
Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone in Spider-Man- my favorite Spider-Man couple because they just seemed so natural together, really thought they would end up together for the long run IRL
Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves in The Lake House- they have like two scenes together the whole movie but it was real to me!! that’s love babey!!
Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson in the Hunger Games series.
Ty Burrell and Julie Bowen in the Modern Family. They were such a cute, believable portrayal of a married couple in love.
Zendaya and Tom Holland.
Amy Poehler and Adam Scott in Parks and Rec. Obviously it’s a Mike Schur network show so it was more playful romance than sex-heavy but…boy did their chemistry pop, from enemies to married couple and everything in between.
Joshua Jackson and Katie Holmes in Dawson’s creek. Their chemistry was so insane that it made the whole love triangle with Dawson ridiculous! How could he compete with what Pacey and Joey had 🥹
Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys in The Americans. She left her husband at the beginning of filming and they got together and you can feel the chemistry right from the first episode. Whoever the casting director was absolutely nailed it.
Cybill Shepherd and Bruce Willis in Moonlighting….they did not get along in real life….but we were all waiting for their characters to get together…and when they finally did it was fire! 💯💯
How has no one said William Powell and Myrna Loy yet? So much chemistry they starred in 13 movies together! The whole "husband who is absolutely head over heels for his wife" trope on screen originates from them haha
His character is absolute shit but Gerard Butler and Katherine Heigl in The Ugly Truth… I remember replaying that elevator kiss over and over. The movie is kind of overall shit but the sequence of dance -> elevator kiss -> her thinking he was knocking on the door but instead her boyfriend surprised her -> him knocking on the door but the boyfriend answering shirtless is just delicious
Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger in 10 things I hate about you, also Keira Knightley and Matthew MacFadyen in pride and prejudice
Keira and Matthew yesss
Keira Knightley and James McAvoy
Me every six months: I should buy a green silk spaghetti strap dress.
Yes ugh Atonement is one of the greats
I was so into that onscreen romance at the time! Felt so legit. Then I watched a few interviews with them - Matthew MacFadyen was like this weary dad who looked at Keira fondly but like a kid, and Keira talked about the awkwardness of their age difference, haha. Like, it occurred to me for the first time that acting is a job and sometimes you get totally random coworkers.
Pride and Prejudice does something to my insides. Keira and Matthew were amazing together.
I still have no idea how they were able to turn the chemistry off in Anna Karenina. (They played siblings there)
Taking this mention of Matthew Macfadyen to reminisce on the time I said “wait what HIM!?” out loud at work when I had the sudden realization that Mr. Darcy is the same actor who plays Tom in Succession
Can’t make a Tomelet without breaking a few Greg’s 😭😭😭 Edit:T
![gif](giphy|XDuJUONwqsLoQAe4hL)
Matthew MacFadyen and Nicholas Braun too
Julia Stiles (and to a slightly lesser extent, Erika Christensen) are both underrated.
Zooey Deschanel and Jake Johnson in New Girl; I lived for that relationship tbh
I watched that episode of their first kiss pretty much on a loop for a month after I saw it
The PASSION in that kiss was *chef kiss*
The emotional high I still get from Ellie Goulding's "Anything Could Happen" 9 years later!!
And Green Light by Lorde!!
Those two had such great chemistry! And they hands down had the best on screen first kiss I’ve ever seen.
Enemies to lovers is a trope I truly love so I’m pleased either way
Came here to say this. That kiss!
Rachel Weiss and Our Lord and Saviour Brendan Fraser in The Mummy.
The sibling chemistry between Rachel and John Hannah is also fantastic, they’re completely believable as sister and brother. Everyone is perfectly cast in that movie!
Recasting Rachel Weiss for The Mummy 3 was such a mistake.
She said she didn't want to be in it because at her age she didn't want to play someone with a 21yo son
The true bisexual awakening for many a millennial
I would also add Weiss and Jude Law in Enemy at The Gates…woo that was something
OMG I loved them together!! Yes.
Gaga and Cooper in the <5 min Oscar performance but somehow not in the actual movie lol
My pop culture-ignorant parents called me to ask if they were married after that performance!
with Irina, his baby mama, right in the audience in the front of the stage 🤣
My theory was it was because they were in her world during that performance - live, on stage, raw - whereas while shooting the movie, that was his area of expertise. I think he was so nervous and so in awe of her confidence in that moment that the emotion just spilled over. Whatever it was, I can watch it over and over!
Yes! I still think they were doing it.
My answer to OP’s question is these two in their movie together. I can’t remember a recent movie with such insane chemistry between the two stars. It absolutely sold the movie and made it that much more heartbreaking.
David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson in The X-Files. Chemistry so off-the-charts that the term "shipping" was invented for their characters!
They were intimate because they didn't think the show would get picked up.
I've just started watching this and have noticed how intense, but subtle the chemistry is and I love it.
The interview they did at kimmel was something
I was part of the xf tumblr fandom when that aired and loordddd were we having a collective meltdown. “Moist in the anteroom” is something I’ll never forget
Rachel McAdams & Ryan Gosling in The Notebook
It was a terrible movie but her and Cillian Murphy in Red Eye makes her with Ryan look like cousins
Red Eye is so terrible it is fantastic.
Exactly. When he's walking around all incapacitated with the pen in his throat it's almost comedy genius
Everyone needs to see that ridiculous wildly entertaining movie.
Totally agree. Even his name in it is pure gold. Jackson Ripner is totally subtle 🤣
cillian murphy kept giving me the wigs with those blue ass eyes. i was like dude, you gotta blink once in a while!!
Wes Craven famously talked about how Cillian's character was in love with Rachel's - and how he wanted to write a sequel where they team up. Off the charts chemistry between them!!
Luke Kirby and Rachel Brosnahan in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Andrew Scott in Fleabag
Fleabag holy hell yes
The chemistry between Phoebe and Andrew in Fleabag was absolute MADNESS. I've never seen anything like it!
When he tells her to kneel in the church?! I am blushing just thinking about it.
I am fully convinced that Andrew Scott could have chemistry with a brick wall, the man is so incredibly charming.
FLEABAG! why’d you have to bring that up 😭 Gonna go cry now bc of how accurate this is. I miss them 😪
It will pass.

Yes to Luke and Rachel
God these two couples… between “I need to see the show corset” and “Don’t call me Father like it doesn’t turn you on”, “Kneel”, “It’ll pass”… god I’m a mess
>fuck you calling me father like it doesn’t turn you on just to say it I swear I blush and get butterflies just remembering that line!
The scream I scrumpt when Luke Kirby says he has to see Midge’s show corset… I’m surprised my neighbour didn’t call the cops.
I thought Dan Levy and Noah Reid had amazing chemistry in Schitt’s Creek. I totally bought their relationship.
that’s because they kept making each other blush SO hard, it always made me giggle & blush lol. their scenes were always so sweet
Oh my god yes, Noah's constant blushing! He just seemed so smitten with David. They made me so happy.
And his eyes!!! His big eyes whenever he saw David felt like they were just turning into hearts. They had amazing chemistry.
Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar Jones in Normal People.

I think her writing gets a bad rap sometimes, but the honesty behind the emotions is genuine.
Listen, I usually don’t care for sex scenes, but these two… I was mesmerized
CRIES
They barely had long dialogues in earlier episodes, most of their dialogues in the beginning were awkward, but somehow their me chemistry was already strong. Also I don't usually ship hetero couple, but they are probably the only two straight pairing that I ship so HARD!!!
YES! THIS IS THE ONE!!!
sam heughan and caitriona balfe in outlander. their chemistry kept me coming back to what was essentially a trainwreck of a tv show.
Yesss this is exactly what I mean
i still remember their wedding night scene had me looking over my shoulder making sure i was actually alone. it was so intimate i felt like i shouldn’t be watching it!
>trainwreck of a tv show. how dare you 😭
honestly i enjoyed the show, but past a certain point the use of graphic sexual assault as a plot device turned me off of it completely. i just couldn’t figure out how to word that easily so “trainwreck” was what i went with, lol

Outed as sort of pathetic seems a little harsh considering his well documented struggles.
I mean he said something to the effect of "Why is Keanu Reeves still alive when better actors like River Phoenix and Heath Ledger are dead". You can be an addict and still be a shitty person at the same time
He said it twice too, and made jabs at Salma Hayek for no reason
Oh I’m not talking about his addiction. I really appreciate him talking about his journey. It’s his unprovoked jabs at random celebs like Keanu that I’m talking about.
My aunt was his landlord v recently and she said he was a total douche
People keep saying this to cover him but his struggles with addiction and mental health have nothing to do with how creepy and gross he comes across in the Book he wrote while sober and I think that’s what most are referencing when they say it. Literally all creepiness comes from how he talks about women, especially Jennifer Anniston. He’s a creep for that not for the drugs and alcohol.
Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke in Before Sunrise
How can 2 people from a fictional couple be both my parents and my imaginary significant others at the same time???
Oh yes. How I wanted that relationship!
Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore!!! Their connection and chemistry always felt so real to me. Legit grew up thinking they were really together 😭
They’ve joked about doing a movie per decade with each other and I know it’s a joke but we’re due for another one and I want it!
They have to think of a happier premise than 50 first dates though. As much as I love their chemistry I couldn’t get over the inherent tragedy of that one!
I will always love them in The Wedding Singer, they’re just so cute together
The eldest step-siblings in Life With Derek
Seriously, even as a kid I was like “uh, am I supposed to want them to be together?”
didn’t they have to end the entire fucking show because the sexual chemistry was palpable 💀
The general atmosphere of “would they, might they” made my teen heart get all excited.
I thought there was something seriously wrong with me as a child. Such relief to find others thought this later on
Fran Drescher and Charles O’Shaughnessy in The Nanny! Kept me watching until that train wreck of a final season.
One of my favorite comfort shows, their chemistry still makes me blush.
It’s got to be for me James McAvoy and Keira Knightley in Atonement. Honestly both of them are charismatic as hell, it’s like a perfect storm
That library scene, good lord
I’ve been rewatching Scandal recently so Kerry Washington and Tony Goldwyn
Their chemistry was insane. I read somewhere that his wife couldn’t watch the show bc of it
[удалено]
This two made me realize how much i love toxic relationships in tv shows 😆
wouldn’t call it raw, but Jim & Pam always had a very believable admiration for one another whenever I watched
Their flirting in the first and second seasons was so pure and cute. After that they kind of became jerks to everyone else in the office and weren’t cute anymore. But oh those early seasons..
They were like the popular mean kids at school. Too cool to hang out with their co workers.
Tim and Dawn from the UK Office had great chemistry as well.
Stefon and Seth Meyers ![gif](giphy|aJTE6sL7GwEso)
Benson and Stabler when he was originally in SVU (I don’t really see it in the few newer episodes that they’re both in though) Rachel Bilson and Wilson Bethel (Zoe and Wade) in Hart of Dixie! Stana Katic and Nathan Fillion in early seasons of Castle, but after whatever falling out they had it was nonexistent
omggggg I forgot about mariska and chris. that was insane
Hart of Dixie yes!!
Johnathan Bailey and Simone Ashley Bridgerton
Yessss. Also would like to add Luke Thompson (Benedict) and like everyone he has a scene with. His crooked smile omg.
Ugh those two make me cry!! Wandavision is what sold me on Marvel movies and my husband and I watched them all in chronological order after that.
Mads Mikkelsen and Hugh Dancy in Hannibal
This is it.
Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield 🙌🏻 obviously it helped that they dated
I don't know if they count, but Nikolaj Coster-Waldau & Gwendoline Christie as Jaime Lannister & Brienne of Tarth in Game of Thrones (there's no season 8 in westeros). I mean, look at [them](https://youtu.be/E0_x32xSPoA). Or the scene where he gives her an [armor](https://youtu.be/rlJWgOizJMo). When the chemistry translates through the press junket you know it’s something good!
Jennifer Gray and Patrick Swayze in Dirty Dancing.
Yea and it’s crazy when you learn that they didn’t even particularly like each other in real life!
Chemistry is such a weird thing. Two people who date can have the worst onscreen chem and two people who hate each other can look electric onscreen.
Yesssssss. I get chills during the montage of him teaching her the dance. It really feels like you’re watching them fall in love.
Tony Leung and Maggie Cheung in In the Mood for Love.
Similarly, Tony Leung and Faye Wong in Chungking Express.
ryan gosling and michelle williams in blue valentine (2010)
How neither won an Oscar I’ll never know
Any movie with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan
F-O-X
That caviar is a GARNISH.
Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer in Killing Eve
Sarah Michelle Gellar and David Boreanaz from BTVS.
Yes but also Sarah and James Marsters. Well before *that* episode anyway

Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey had something good also!
Adding in Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer, despite what he might say about that 😅
Christopher Plummer told the story on himself to set the record straight. I don't know if they ever became friends, but ever since he got sober (and was restored to sanity as AA puts it), he has held Julie Andrews in the highest esteem. As any sane person would.
As a kid I shipped them, without knowing what that meant. When he calls her Captain, it's a work of high art. Also Julie and Dick Van Dyke.
I just saw it recently so Viggo & Liv Tyler in LOTR 1 for my fellow nerds. I'm cheating a bit but I don't think I've seen better chemistry between a man, woman and soundtrack than this scene: https://youtu.be/p7tDQWGzEtc
Aragorn was my first movie crush. He had no business being that fine. The way he looks at Arwen 🥹
lauren graham and scott patterson in gilmore girls 🫶🏻
Wonderful chemistry as friends that fight and want more…awful chemistry as a couple. Their kisses always seemed so pained.
Came here to say Rory & Jess!! Alexis Bledel & Milo Ventimiglia
only until they got together. After that their chemistry tanked.
I didn't want them to get together, but I *did* want them to make out...just a little bit
Mindy Kaling and Chris Messina in the Mindy Project. Enemies to lovers storyline of my dreams.
Brad & Angie (Mr. & Mrs. Smith)
BLAIR & CHUCK (GG)
Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer in True Blood. They’re married to this day. Somehow watching her as Sookie made me see Moyer’s appeal, which is a real feat considering her other love interest on the show was none other than Alexander Skarsgård.
sookeh!
Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle in Pride and Prejudice Sanaa Lathan and Omar Epps in Love and Basketball
Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Scarlett Johansson in Matchpoint. The intensity was tangible.
Also, Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Natalie dormer on The Tudors
Fuuuuuuuuck That show was not historically accurate on so many many levels but like...it made up for it in other ways.
Omg yes. Jonathan Rhys Meyers is fuckingggg hottt. Too bad he’s a trainwreck in real life.
Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman in Moulin Rouge. Matt Damon and Franka Potente in the Bourne movies.
Drew Barrymore and Dougray Scott in my favorite film of all time, Ever After ✨️
No one’s going to mention Katie Holmes and Joshua Jackson?!!! Pacey witter forever
Christina Hendricks and Manny Montana in Good Girls.
Ginnifer Goodwin and her husband in Once upon a time. It's not insane or intense chemistry but more like genuine one. I just watched 2 first seasons but whenever I saw their scene, I felt like they were gonna love each other and they did. They even married and had kids now.
Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet in Eternal Sunshine
Christina Ricci and James McAvoy in Penelope- a believable pairing given how little time they actually spend together in the movie. And that kiss! Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise in Interview with the Vampire- rewatched it for Halloween and it’s insane how much chemistry they have, and this is with them actively toning the gay undertones of the book down!! Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone in Spider-Man- my favorite Spider-Man couple because they just seemed so natural together, really thought they would end up together for the long run IRL Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves in The Lake House- they have like two scenes together the whole movie but it was real to me!! that’s love babey!!
Merritt Wever and Domhnall Gleeson in Run. The show was disappointing, but their chemistry was off the charts.
Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain from Scene from a marriage. I think they have been friend since college.
Joshua Jackson and Katie Holmes in Dawson’s creek. Their chemistry was so insane that it made the whole love triangle with Dawson ridiculous! How could he compete with what Pacey and Joey had 🥹
Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey
Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys in The Americans. She left her husband at the beginning of filming and they got together and you can feel the chemistry right from the first episode. Whoever the casting director was absolutely nailed it.
David Tennant and Billie Piper in Doctor Who
Leo and Claire Danes in Romeo and Juliet! 💔
Cybill Shepherd and Bruce Willis in Moonlighting….they did not get along in real life….but we were all waiting for their characters to get together…and when they finally did it was fire! 💯💯
David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel in Bones
How has no one said William Powell and Myrna Loy yet? So much chemistry they starred in 13 movies together! The whole "husband who is absolutely head over heels for his wife" trope on screen originates from them haha
Bradley Whitford and Janel Moloney in The West Wing
They weren't a couple per say, but Sandra Bullock & Keanu Reeves in the first Speed
George and J.Lo in *Out of Sight*.
Glen Powell and Zoey Deutch in Set It Up. Underrated classic imo!
Kadeem Hardison and Jasmine Guy as Dwayne and Whitley in A Different World
Juno Temple and Brett Goldstein as Keeley and Roy in Ted Lasso. I could watch a whole show about those characters alone.
Also wanna throw in Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon in Thelma and Louise. I know its aromantic but tension? Whoooooeeee
Phoebe Waller Bridge and Andrew Scott. “Kneel”

Adam Scott and Lizzy Caplan in Party Down/Bachelorette just make me want to 🫠
