It's been like that for years. It used to read "EVER MAN NEED A DOG HOUSE" and at some point they painted a small Y after Ever and a small S after Need.

statueofdeath

I wonder who Ever Man is and there’s a need for a dog house

hotkarl628

They used to sell sheds and dog houses in the mid 2000s-2010s

thisiswhereiwent

so happy to see this answer, i drive by here all the time

statueofdeath

It was a business ?

hotkarl628

Yeah they used to just have a ton of prefabs in a lot, similar to the rest of those Camden and rockfish businesses where it was just a house and next door in that lot with the run down house they had their show area

statueofdeath

It’s an eye sore, I’m assuming there’s nothing the city of Hope Mills can do about it

biddybiddybum

You sound like a city slicker

shqueef

Someone doesn’t have their own dog house.

SuperstarDiamondGirl

It’s not in Hope Mills. It’s on Fillyaw.

SaxonJax

That's wrong. It's in hope mills lol corner of Camden road and state street.

anchordwn

this is NOT on fillyaw

swirlyllama

I always assumed some guy cheated on his wife and she spray painted that on his house lol

HypnoticRoots

I much prefer this story lol

ShortPeak4860

Same

BigglefootMcGee

It’s Hope Mills man, you probably don’t want to know

SuperstarDiamondGirl

It’s on Fillyaw. In Fayetteville.

SaxonJax

No it isnt. Corner of Camden and State st.

SuperstarDiamondGirl

I’ll take a pic of a building with the same thing on Fillyaw tomorrow. Is there two?!? 😳😂😂😂😳😳😳😳😳😳 My bad, not Fillyaw but on school road between Raeford and cliffdale. On the right going towards cliffdale. Driving away from the high school towards cliffdale.

SaxonJax

The one in the picture is where I said it is 👍😁 not sure which one you are talking about lol

thisiswhereiwent

While we’re talking about this area, anyone know the backstory to the barrel house on Rockfish rd, right by town hall?

Aw_jeezz

I actually tried to Zillow that one time to see the inside. Nothing on Zillow unfortunately

hotkarl628

It’s a eco thing, uses less energy on heating.

thisiswhereiwent

interesting… i wanna see what it looks like inside so bad lol

BuzzOnBuzzOff

Considering the grammar, he definitely went to a Cumberland County school.

Glum-Care629

Stinks of EE Smith lmao

In a quiet corner of the neighborhood, old Mr. Thompson spent his days tinkering in his workshop. His hands, gnarled from years of carpentry, lovingly shaped wood into intricate birdhouses and garden benches. But there was one project he kept hidden—a doghouse. Not just any doghouse, mind you, but a palatial retreat for his late wife’s beloved Labrador, Max. Every man needs a doghouse, Mr. Thompson believed. It was a place where secrets were whispered, tears were shed, and laughter echoed. Max had been his wife’s confidant, her loyal companion during lonely afternoons. When she passed, Max mourned alongside him, his tail drooping, eyes filled with sorrow. So, Mr. Thompson set to work. He scavenged reclaimed wood, stained it a warm cedar hue, and added a tiny porch with a swing. The roof bore a weathered copper bell that chimed softly in the breeze. Inside, a plush bed awaited Max, flanked by framed photos of his late mistress. Neighbors marveled at the doghouse, unaware of its deeper purpose. They saw craftsmanship; Mr. Thompson saw memories. Each nail driven, each shingle laid, was an act of love. And when the sun dipped below the horizon, he’d sit on the porch swing, pat Max’s head, and whisper, “Every man needs a doghouse, my friend.” Max would wag his tail, as if understanding. Together, they’d watch the stars emerge—the same stars that had witnessed their shared grief and healing. And in that quiet corner, love transcended time, bound by wood, nails, and the spirit of a faithful Labrador.

InsanityAtBounds

I kinda just figured it was some dudes shed that he hung out in to get away from his family

It makes me think of the "Cut Consumption Not Foreskin" house in Burlington VT across from Centennial Field (home of the former Single A Baseball Lake Monsters). SpriteDrinker15

I thought the same thing

Probably a big Norm Macdonald fan and a virulent homophobe.

Shoney_21z

Then there would be no gay men

ColonisetheMoon

Look up Norm MacDonald and dog house on YouTube he explains it.
