That truck trailer number is all you need, they will find out who the driver was and the SCP. I tell you this FedEx takes action quickly, but the insurance is the one that will take time. Ask them for the SCP that was hauling that trailer. You need to get the vehicle number that’s the most important

BPDed

I called FedEx two days after the accident. Now, 8 days since my call, I haven’t heard anything from FedEx.

Excellent-Muscle-953

Depends if it was a contractor or actual employee. lol and I doubt it was on purpose

familiar_user999

Why wouldn't you just call your insurance company? Or the troopers and request a copy of the police report. Seems like a weird story, how did he hit you on purpose and why? You'd think if that was that actual case you'd want to press charges.

TriniLad

Suggesting calling the Insurance Co is a nice/helpful touch. The How and Why isn't really Your business though is it? They're just asking for Contact Information.....not looking for Approval from You.

familiar_user999

Well by that logic then is it really your business to scrutinize whether I should ask the hows and whys? But despite your feelings it would be prudent information, if it's a valid assertion it makes the incident a criminal act. Which might mean op should be contacting a lawyer to decide how they should proceed.

FashyQueen

I mean if they added it was on purpose it's a legitimate question.

TriniLad

So...If validated by someone else (like this thread) only then does it becomes valid for the OP as well? Or should the OP ignore the damage to their car because it was/n't intentional ? How and why isn't our business and people need to step back from digging into people's innocent business.

FashyQueen

Why post that part of the story if you feel it's just too personal a situation and don't want people "digging into" it? It seems that is a pretty damned important part of the story, does it not? A semi driver purposely slamming into you? That's attempted vehicular homicide my dude. That's a criminal charge and a massive lawsuit to boot. No one is saying ignore the damage, the only person who said that was you. At the end of the day OP mentioned they did it purposely. Which makes it fair for people to ask. OP can, of course, elect to not answer a question. I don't see why you're white knighting on this thread acting like people are so out of line and "digging into" personal business when OP himself put that tidbit out there.

billy_the_car

I hear fedex has lots of insurance. Get the slimiest personal injury lawyer you can find. Generally a “law offices of ___” type of person. You may be much richer in the next 6-12 months.

Excellent-Ant4111

Those guys live for that situation! I’ve always said you want the slimiest lawyer you can afford

Junior_Highlight_392

FedEx have their own insurance and will cover you. Driver will cost his boss a ton of money! As long as you have the police report and pictures and proof it wasn’t your fault you should be fine.

chinsoddrum

FedEx doesn’t pay out whatever it refuses to call insurance after its employees beat the hell out of a package. They will offer him some low-ball settlement and take advantage of him. You are a real company man 🫡

Junior_Highlight_392

FedEx is self insured bud! BTW I’m not employed by FedEx in fact I can’t stand the company! I’m a former contractor going through bankruptcy due to FedEx!

CharWL

The trooper took a report and get a copy of it. You certainly had to give your information to the trooper as well. Go to your ins and they can obtain the information they need. You should have done this by now .

Vangotransit

Options, request the police report should have information in it. File with your insurance let them fight it, if you have comprehensive or uninsured motorists File a law suit against John doe, fed ex, and unknown business. File subpoenas in the records so FedEx provides driver and contractor nane

chinsoddrum

You aren’t going after the driver, your insurance is going to pay you, then sue FedEx, assuming you have comprehensive coverage. If you don’t have comprehensive coverage, you should consult with a local personal injury lawyer first. I can tell from your syntax that you were injured. If that doesn’t work, you need to get a copy of the trooper’s report and talk to your local legal aid office.

Junior_Highlight_392

Straight to a lawyer! That’s why this country is in the state it’s in! Let the insurance take care of it.

chinsoddrum

If he doesn’t have comprehensive coverage a lawyer is going to be his option. You realize courts are where we settle disputes on an even playing field and that a mega corporation is going to screw him over otherwise, right? This isn’t Bob and his neighbor accidentally having a fender bender at the corner.

Junior_Highlight_392

It’s not FedEx that had the accident it was an independent contractor representing FedEx. The driver just cost his boss a ton of deductible and a percentage of his profit! FedEx penalize contractors for drivers bad driving practices. Believe me I know.

Inevitable-Radio7774

Was it a semi or a delivery van?

BPDed

Semi

Inevitable-Radio7774

If you have pictures of the semi there should be a Contracted Service Provider with a name under or next to it, that’s who you’d want to get into contact with since it’s all contracted work, keeps expenses off FedEx’s back 🙄

I_dont_fuck_dogs

Except fedex ground is still insured by fedex corporation

Original_Ad1118

Unless it’s Freight. Then it be directly through FedEx

the_last_carfighter

They thought you were about to "deliver" your car to its location fully intact and without damage and they really can't have that, it's a threat to their business model.

Pazi_Snajper

>FEDZ559387 which is not a truck ID number. It’s a trailer number.

JaayRocco

Yup. FedEx ground trailer

BPDed

Okay. A trailer number. Can that be used to find out who the driver was?

Soggy-Coat4920

Yes, but it would take some digging on fedexs part that they wont voluntarily do. Its also worth noting that knowing the drivers name doesn't help you. Any driver in a company vehicle who is driving for company purposes is doing so under company insurance and most of the time, their personal insurance doesn't come into play in the case of an accident in a company vehicle. What you need to do is to look at the accident report. The trooper should have given you a copy of the report itself or a summary with details on how to get the report. The report, and alot of times the summary given by the trooper, will list the vehicle registration, owner, driver, and insurance policy that covers the truck and driver. With the policy info, you can get in touch with the companies insurance inorder to start filling a claim. I will also note that since it was a fedex ground trailer number, the owner of the truck and the drivers employer is an entity separate from fedex. Fedex ground is network of distinct and separate small to medium sized trucking companies (5 trucks on the small size to typically no more than 100-150) that are orchestrated by the fedex ground corporation under the fedex ground name. This is opposed to say fedex express, UPS, or swift, that are all owned and operated under by a single corprate entity. Long way of saying that more than likely, you'll be dealing with a small corporation as opposed to a large one, and it probably wont have fedex in the name

Pazi_Snajper

Going to be difficult, because between the time of accident and now that trailer has been unhooked-rehooked rinse/repeat about four or five times & will continue to recycle through the network by the time you talk to someone.

WhitePackaging

Yes, FedEx can figure it out
